I stayed here because it was right in the middle of our drive from the PNW to SoCal, and it was the last time I’ll make that mistake.
I didn’t arrive too late, 7pm maybe, and no one was at the window to help. We had to bang on the glass to finally get someone’s attention after several minutes. Reminds me of that scene in “Bad Times at the El Royale.”
If you’re facing the south-side, you’ll hear the JackNtheBox drive-thru loud speaker every couple minutes throughout the whole night.
Also a ton of hefty prostitutes walking around that area. Then some guy, who I later suspected was a customer, tried to aggressively follow me into the complex. He was let in by the staff.
Also felt a little uneasy as there was a decent gap/draft under the door, and the door-chain mount was jiggling off the door-frame. A strong gust of wind could have broke it open.
But the worst part was the multiple types of hair strands on the bathroom towels and the pillow cases.
Not sure if this place was rented by the hour, and forgot to the be cleaned before we checked-in…
I nearly left to get another hotel, but the exhaustion of driving, I just wanted to fall asleep so I could get up and leave.
I slept in my clothes and my hoody on top of the bedsheets. I even slept in my shoes in case I had to Chuck-Norris someone if they broke in.
On the plus side, hotel condition wasn’t the worst I’ve seen. And they’re pet friendly. So if you’re kind of a gross person on a budget, this is the right place for you.

This was easily the worst hotel/motel experience I have ever had in my life. I have experience with other motels, and this one was relatively highly rated so I thought I knew what to expect, but I was wrong.

The area right outside the motel was blatantly littered with hookers and generally felt unsafe. Inside the room was somehow more unsettling. Literally every surface, sheet and towel had some type of mystery stain on it. Some of the stains had texture. There was what looked like some dried blood on the wall. It felt like I was going to get an STD just by being in the room.

The most disgusting thing in the room was the towel provided for drying after a shower. On it, there was a large streak of dirt or soot, what looked like a pube, and mystery stains of various colors that I would rather not speculate the origins of.

It was all so bad that I felt compelled to write a review - even though I never do for anything - for the sole purpose of lowering the score and increasing the odds of saving anyone who doesn't know what they're getting into from making the mistake of staying.

Don’t stay here! There were hookers crawling all around the streets in front of the motel with cars picking them up & dropping off all night long. I’m sure this motel has a connection with them and their ‘bosses’. Cops cruising around not doing anything about it. The motel parking lot is gated but still felt extremely unsafe. Other guests were outside their rooms smoking and drinking with music blaring all night. Staff did nothing. I didn’t sleep at all. The room was clean at least but the area is drug infested red light district. Stay away!

Burn holes in the sheets, very nasty cigarette smell, water on the floor upon arrival, it was late and this was a last min motel, but wish it couldve at least been cleaner. Also if you want ladies harassing your husband this is the place for that, if you get the drift. Never will stay here again. We got there at 2am, with 2 kids and my dogs, i was exhausted and just wanted to sleep at that point, even if a room change was offered i didnt have the time, nor energy to do so. Have more respect for your people traveling, maybe check the room before throwing a family into a nasty room. I dont know but im just very disappointed and they denied me my money back so oh well. Fair warning, DO NOT STAY HERE

Appreciate that the room itself was clean, however there are literally half naked women across the street \"working\". Although the property is gated, there are people who seem to be up to no good outside at all hours of day/night. As we are getting off our vehicle, there is a woman standing outside her room on the 2nd floor cursing/arguing with someone. Would never stay here again.

The quality of the facility is below average, considering the poor amenities. The service level of the staff is not good. It is one of the worst experiences I've had at Motel 6 in my 50+ stays. The good point is that the parking and room are within the gate, so safety-wise, it is very good.

For $100, it wasn’t worth it at all. There’s no reason for that high price. Prostitutes hanging around outside. $5 deposit for the room key (NEVER heard of that!) Sheets were cheap and severely wrinkled. Even found a spot on the sheets. TV is a 25 inch. I’ve seen better Motel 6 than this, and didn’t pay this much.

Horrible place…Pool filthy dirty and unswimmable…Tv doesn’t work…beds are lumpy and soft…Terrible location…Complete property is fenced in…even the office…doors are locked even for the office which you can’t get in…you stand outside at a window and slide your id and card to the clerk under the window. Makes you feel really uneasy for your safety.To top it off…they were asphalting the entire property and you couldn’t park right outside your room…you had to unload your car and lug everything to your room which was a long way…they had a gas leaf blower going for over an hour after we checked in at 5 and then they poured the asphalt covering for a couple of hours…ALL right outside our door.
I just don’t understand how they can run a business like this. DON’T make the mistake of staying here…you will regret it.

1.5 stars * tremendous room for improvement*

I stayed here for just over a week while in transition. It was affordable, and felt relatively safe due to the gated facility despite being in a rough part of town. Let me start by saying all the staff was friendly and welcoming. I would award them 3 stars for friendliness. Unfortunately they advertised a pool that would never open, despite the warmer temperatures. When I inquired they said they were awaiting inspection before reopening. There was zero outside seating leaving you confided to your room. Vending machines take your money but don’t dispense. No fridge or microwave accessible to guests. Was lucky to get just the basic amenities needed from housekeeping. All things I was willing to over look. However after the first few days housekeeping would stop checking in on me. I had to clean/sweep my own room and hunt them down for clean towels and trash bags despite asking for service. My final 2 days the toilet in my room backed up. I requested help both over the phone and in-person to no avail. I eventually asked for a plunger since no one would come to fix/clean. I was unsuccessful as Ive never had to plunged a toilet, I even googled “how to unclog a toilet” The lobby was inaccessible to all guest leaving no alternative options for restroom access. These are not the standards I have come to expect from this chain of motels despite their low-budget and star rating. Lots of room for improvement. Do better for Stockton.

Think Twice about this Motel!

The staff was helpful but the room had a leak under the faucet, the mini fridge also leaked and the door to the room had been kicked in and didn’t close properly. Leaving a crack where cold air came in at.
Also the hotel is gated but I had to wait for the front desk staff to open the gate with the remote. Sometimes I waited several minutes if the remote didn’t work properly or there wasn’t anyone at the desk.
Lastly, right outside the hotels gate was major prostitution going on! Women were in very very little clothing from 7am well into the early mornings!

Absolutely Horrible Motel 6

My stay was absolutely horrible. The room was just okay. There was no room service, and I was there for seven nights.

On the day I was scheduled to check out, I contacted the front desk to ask for a late check out which the clerk agreed to. I assumed late check out was 12 PM rather than 11 AM. At 11:30 AM, the motel clerk started knocking aggressively on my door. When I answered the door, she stated that I needed to leave right now. I told her I had overslept and needed 10 minutes to finish packing. She began yelling at me and stated that I needed to leave right now. Do not ever stay at the Motel 6, Charter Way West location in Stockton, California. No customer service! Not worth your money!

When I arrived I was told I could nit check in due to the system being down and I would not be able to check in. When I asked about a refund I was then able to get checked in. The room had paint spots on the floor and some red stain on the floor . The curtains had a huge white stain on them. The tub had some brown stains and hair in it. The room smelled of smoke. I was also scratched ny the metal frame at the emd if the bed. I also was never given a key to the room so the ladies opened the door and let us in. The door didnt close completely.

Doesn’t even rate one star. From the smell of the room to ugly decor, holes in the bedspread, damaged furniture with broken edges and burn marks, some lights didn’t work, no toilet lid and the seat was really loose, constant sound of crickets and trucks so close it sounded like a rock quarry and then there was the spider and some other bigger unidentified flying insects (plural!). Loud drunks at 2:30am followed by the stench of cigarettes. Most every door looked like it had been inflicted with a beat down. I could not get out of that room fast enough! I used to stay at Motel 6 in Arizona for spring training years ago and they were nice. Not the case at all for this location. However the AC and fan did work and there was running water. Never again will I stay at a Motel 6.

When we arrived at 4 pm, we could not enter the lobby; only the window was open (a very seedy part of town). Taped to the window was a note written on a piece of paper that said \"No wifi, no TV. Sorry for the inconvenience.\" Since we didn't know if any other motels had vacancies, we decided to pay. The bedspreads in our non-smoking room had several cigarette burns in them, and my wife found a strange-looking small bug on the bed. After calling Motel 6 corporate offices (who told us that they would contact the hotel manager, but it was his decision whether or not to do anything to help us), my wife started crying and said she would ask for our money back, which the clerk begrudgingly did. We finally found a vacancy at another motel that was clean, neat, had TV and wifi, and was 12 miles closer to our destination.

After checking in with the nice woman (through a window) I was going to park near my room. I had my dog with me and I was a single traveling female. I did not even stay at this hotel due to the unsavory character and environment of this place. guys, peeing in the parking lot, people hanging out in their doorways looking suspicious, people acting strange in the parking lot. I was so apprehensive of all the outside activities I immediately left. Headed to the next town south and stayed there.

I liked that my room was clean and bug free. Location in room was upfront in a well lit area which was also great. I went to get a bucket of ice and the back area of building felt more like you had to be on your guard because there were more people who were lounging/sleeping in the hallway or stairs and just with their own guard up; things can escala if pushed by anyone.maybe its just me and my mama bear instincts kicking in wanting my family to feel safe walking out to my car or outside the room, maybe its also the feeling of this serial killer who is still uncaptured and we were near the location and my husband traveled early to go to work. That was another thing, out of the 4 nights we were booked, my husband worked 2 days and left at 4am..at that time there were already people driving in and circling the area and leaving. Or suspicious activity in their car as it idles. I want to justify my review that the motel is right off the freeway and just gets many walks of life coming through, maybe its just the area and that' why there was much activity outside my room..I can say that the staff was nice when i spoke to them, once again my room was bug free and clean. There was no housekeeping as I stayed there but I think that's a new rule if people stay there for a certain amount of time. I did get new trash bags when i requested. I don't usually use their towels as i travel with my own but Im sure that can be accommodated if requested. I would stay another visit if needed. :)

Stay away from this pos motel if you are traveling with family. Loud obnoxious people all night long with loud music, loud screams and smoking and drinking all night long outside their hotels rooms and in parking lot. Rooms are filthy. Bed sheets are stained and not cleaned whatsoever. Bathroom is disgusting and rooms smell terrible. The list could keep going ….
