I'll start with the two positives: it's cute on the outside and the front desk guy was friendly and check in was quick. There were no positives after getting to the room. The place is run down and filthy. The floors were so dirty that my white socks were black on the bottom from walking on them and the bathroom was just gross. I do not recommend if you like a clean place to stay - so disappointing.

From the road the property looks old and that is reflected on the inside of the rooms. Our room was terrible! It smelled of urine, mildew and cleaning chemicals that they most likely used in an attempt to cover the scent. The property is approximately 25 meters from the main road so it is incredibly noisy. The breakfast was not a breakfast per se, it was wrapped bagels, keurig coffee with your choice of kirkland coffee pods, yami yogurt and milk. Not worth the stay.

Typical 2 star hotel… we did not get one of those pretty rooms that they show on the website. We got one of the rooms on the main floor exterior entry in the 100 level.
The location was great, as we were enjoying the weekend with Family in Coupeville.
A little disappointed they cleaned out the breakfast at 10:01 AM promptly!!!! even though the clock on the wall showed that it was9:50 !!! the staff seem perturbed. I wanted to get a a cinnamon roll and a cup of coffee. We may give it another chance if we could get one of the good rooms that they show on their website.

A charming Dutch themed hotel. Lot’s of non hot food choices for breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff! The hotel is 51 years old and the bathrooms could use some updating. Very unique and something different for a change.

We stayed here because it was the only room available during a last-minute Fourth of July trip. While the sheets and towels felt clean and the bed was simply made.
Staff friendly, amenities good room coffee maker and morning snacks.
The property is clearly very old, which by itself is not necessarily a problem. Many older hotels can still feel welcoming if they are clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, that was not the case here.
The bathroom appeared to have been cleaned, but it looked as though the same rag had been used throughout the room, simply spreading other guest hair around rather than removing it. There were hairs from previous guests visible on the bathtub and walls, which made the space feel unsanitary and poorly maintained.
If a property is old but genuinely clean, I can overlook the age and feel comfortable staying there. Here, however, the lack of attention to cleanliness made it difficult to relax and enjoy the stay. Overall, I would not choose to stay here again.

This is a quaint older hotel. There is no pool (we weren't looking for one) the only ice machine was in the office that you had to ask for. The breakfast consisted of mainly bagels, cereal, Danish, yogurt and oatmeal with a few other items. If you are looking for a full breakfast then you can pay $70 more a night to go to Best Western or a newer bigger chain. For the money that we spent it was a nice clean room. We weren't there for the fancy amenities!

The room was clean and it was located in a convenient location with easy access to Deception Pass/Anacortes, Oak Harnor downtown & Coupeville and other southern towns. It is on the main street with a big wind mill, giving a Dutch country side feeling. It is run by a family, staff were courteous, The simple English breakfast spread was very helpful.

A little overpriced for the area The beds the beds let me tell you about the beds they are in a old-fashioned bed frame attached to an old metal headboard that bangs against the wall even when you roll over so you can imagine the noise if you were doing more than sleeping that would be my biggest complaint with this room is the price and the loose bed in the 106 take the headboards off or something or charge list but thank you it was a fine state

This was definitely an older property and budget-wise. It was conveniently located and easy to find (our first time in area). The bed was very soft-a bit strange. I would stay here if I am concerned about expenses, but the next time I think we'll spend more and stay at a bit more upscale of a hotel.

Clean basic room with a decent continental breakfast. Towels were great and bed was comfortable.
Thin curtains allowed a lot of light into the room and the sink was noisy (since there was no drain cover. Stairs are a bit awkward.

Staffs are friendly. I know it is an old building but it is not clean. The room is dusty and there were hair on the towel and a lot more on the carpet, our wet shoes collected a bunch of them after touring the room as soon as we checked in. Breakfast is minimal but helps especially when traveling with kids. It is right on the main street and of course we can’t forget to mention that there is a naval station nearby, expect aerial noise from time to time during the day. Overall, great value and beautiful curb appeal. I only wish for a better housekeeping.

Pros: The room was clean. The beds were comfortable. The heater/AC worked very well. The breakfast bar offered cold foods (boiled eggs, cereal, breakfast bars, etc, with the exception of oatmeal.

Cons: The power strip needed to have one more plug in so the coffee pit and the microwave could be plugged in at the same time. The bathroom was clean, except for the walls desperately needed washed from the waist down.

We love this place! My sister and i stay here every year in April. The only thing was i thought the floors needed mopping. My sisters room had some bathroom fan issue and tv issue but you probably are ready know about them. Other than that it was a great safe place to stay. They could chang up the breakfast every now and then. 10 out of 10 in my room. We stayed 5days.

We rented a cabin. It was tiny and very old minimal furnishings. Shower was tiny. The room was cold, no heater turned on prior to arival. Staff person didn't know how to turn on heaters. The breakfast was minimal. Wouldn't stay there again, although the regular rooms may have been better.

The room was clean, but very sparse and not a comfortable place to relax. There was only a nightstand on one side of the bed. There were only two dining chairs to sit in, no comfortable reading chair or sofa. The hard surface floor added to the cold, emptiness. Be warned that military jets fly by all during the day, but did stop over night. The HVAC unit is also very loud when it comes on. All-in-all, it is not bad for the price, but it is not a relaxing stay.

This is an older property. We found the room clean and the bed was very comfortable. The furniture is older. The tv was large, clear and there were many channels. Parking was fine but there is no elevator to the second floor and entry is from the outside. We did not eat the breakfast as we do no prefer the continental ones. I did check it out and there were cereals, pastries, bagels etc. The basic. Towels were brought to us immediately when we noticed there were none. For one night, I would recommend this place.

Parking was good. The grab-n-go type breakfast was average. Counters were clean and well-stocked.

The poor rating for cleanliness was due to a very sticky bathroom floor. It was also filthy when we decided to wash it with a washcloth because we didn’t want to walk on it in bare feet. As well, the room spray when we first arrived was incredibly strong. We opened the window fully to try and air it out, left for a couple hours, and came back to find it was just as strong. My wife got a bad headache from it. When we complained to the front desk, they offered a different, “neutral” spray to use, which we declined. We asked about changing to a different room and was told because we had “used” the room, that was not an option. (Only the bathroom was used.) We were told that because we paid for the room through Expedia that they could not offer a refund, which we never even asked for. This was reiterated twice, and we told them we weren’t asking for that. Needless to say, the window was open all night even though it was a cold night.

The bed was a queen on a bed frame with wheels that the “brake” was not set in the on position. No headboard. Mattress was soft.

The towels were fluffy and clean. Shower had nice hot water. There was a small microwave and fridge which were okay.

We would not return to this hotel.

There was an aggressive smell of cleaning chemicals and what could have been laundry detergent was overpowering, so much that we opened the windows and doors to air the space out.

The bed was small for a Queen size and uncomfortable. It was so soft if you got close to the edge you would slide off. Or id your Partener moves it feels like a small eatherquake. No headboard so if you were watching tv the bed would slide and the pillows would fall on the floor.

Overall would I say here again? Maybe but would try one of the cabins or request a bed with a headboard.

Poor management and cleanliness
The heater was so loud and roared all night and made clicking noise.

The bathroom shower/tub had soap scum on the walls and mold in the grout, plus hair on the floor. The kitchenette is rusted and from 1970. The room was very loud due to no flooring.
I decided to talked to the front desk and make the aware. I talked to a very nice front desk rep and she was very kind and empathetic. She wanted me to talk the manager with my concerns as well.
The manager was not concerned and had horrible customer service. When I told him about the situation he Abruptly cut me off to let me know they are getting new heaters and as far as cleanliness... he brushed me off. He proceeded to tell me he was having the girls clean it. That's it.
No \"I'm sorry\" or \"this is unfortunate \" or any kind of concern. Plus he had a smug look on this face. Not good
I, then, proceeded to let him know that his front desk lady has more empathy and concern for this business than he did. I also let him know that he was a terrible manager and had terrible customer service.
And FYI their continental breakfast is a joke. It was a 7-11 pick a crap display.

Fitness room was a joke. Only two machines in bad shape. Not only that, you were not supposed to use it until 9 in the morning because there were rooms above it and the noise would wake them. Closed at 8:30.

This motel has some cute decor, but it looks like someone is neglecting the upkeep. Our room had a gas fireplace, but it didn’t work. The sink was clogged and there was mold on the bathroom tiles. The breakfast was minimally acceptable. Housekeeping was poor, I.e. there was a used towel hanging in the bathroom whey we arrived and the bathroom floor was sticky. The staff was friendly and helpful and sent someone to clean our room once we asked. This motel could become someplace cool.
