I love this hotel. Great staff, fantastic location in LA CONNER, Down on the waterfront. I didn't want to get out of bed.Definitely, the most comfortable bed I've ever been in.
LeEtta
Very cute room great walk in tub in the room walking distance to all shops and town. Over all pretty great.
Jennifer
The bed we slept on was so uncomfortable. We hardly slept at all. The bath tub is gigantic, which was amazing. It just took over an hour to fill with low water pressure. The hotel lobby smells very musty.
John
We love this hotel and La Conner!
gabriela

Maria

Boutique experience
Hotel Planter is a historic hotel located right on the town’s Main Street, within walking distance of shopping, dining, and museums. With only twelve rooms, it is a quiet retreat. My room was spotless, as was the lobby area, where they also offer coffee, tea, and an assortment of board games to borrow. I have stayed here numerous times, because the convenience, quiet, and friendly staff.
Paul
I loved the historical aspect of this hotel.

Nice spot in La Conner
La Conner is a great town.

Historic building built in 1907 no ac but windows open for breeze plus 2 fans was very comfortable
Belinda
Rough around the edges. It could be really lovely. It's not.

The hotel is a national historic inn. I love it! Everything is unique and claim.. staff is super friendly... Thank you! ❤️

This was my second time staying there. Great location. I was looking forward to the old guy who ran the place, but they're under new owners
When I go to la connor I will be staying there

I loved this place. In a building from 1907, the rooms are furnished with period pieces while still having modern amenities. There is not a lot of moving around space in the bedroom but the overall space is well planned especially the bathroom. The coffee/tea area in the lobby has a Keurig and microwave along with Biscoff cookies to go with your morning brew. There is a private, fairly shaded courtyard to relax in when it's not raining. Granted, you need to be able to climb a flight of stairs for the hotel and the courtyard (period, remember). But it's right downtown and for a very reasonable price. The final word is: Charming!!!
Cija
Very polite staff. Convenient, clean, and priced appropriately.
Allaine
Very clean and friendly staff. Exactly in downtown. i love the character of the Hotel and how clean it is. Its also vert accessible to everything.
Michael
An older historic hotel in downtown La Conner. Great location and views, high ceilings and eccentric decor. Full minimum amenities provided.
Overall very quiet but no parking available (only on the street). The hotel was originally built before vehicles were available, so this makes sense.

Naomi
We loved the historic old feel of this property. Yet, the room and bed were comfortable.
Linda
La Connor is a cute, quiet town along the river. Nice place to just kick back and relax. Crab boats were in and lots of early morning fog.
Andrea
This was an unexpected find. We were in town for the Skagit River Poetry Festival and were just trying to find somewhere close to the venues. We didn't expect such a cute, old-timey place. If someone is looking for a sleek, shiny, modern hotel, this isn't it. But we loved the high ceilings and older decor. It was very clean and neat. The staff were friendly and helpful. If we return to La Conner, we'll definitely stay there again.
Troy
Small, clean historic hotel in a great location on the main street of LaConner. The staff was friendly. The outside courtyard looked nice, but otherwise not much to the hotel. Newer TV and bigger fridge/freezer in the room were nice. Our only complaint was that the mattress was very uncomfortable (like staying at great grandma’s level uncomfortable).
Karin
Loved the historical feel and look of the hotel the back court yard with its lights and fireplace was cozy rooms were good liked the little coffee bar and cookies in reception it was a good experience and I enjoyed staying at the hotel and going to the old fashioned confectionery in the bottom of the hotel
Dianne
Location, location, location!! Rooms are basic but comfortable. It was in the 90’s when we were there and there is no air conditioning. But so convenient to everything.

Beautiful location and friendly staff made our trip awesome.

A very adorable historic property and an excellent remodel. I incorrectly thought this property had air conditioners, but it did not. Given the temperatures which were well above normal for the season, I did ask for a box fan for our room, which the very friendly staff was unable to procure.
Gary
Excellent location. Nice staff.

So convenient to all the shops and restaurants! Staff were lovely... friendly and accomodating. (Just an FYI no elevator or AC)

Lovely boutique hotel across from the water in LaConner. Cute, cozy, unique. Lovely little hangout area in the back and an awesome authentic ice cream parlor downstairs circa 1940’s. Very nice staff as well.

This hotel is located in a cool historic building in downtown. Easy access to shopping and dining. A couple of things to be aware of before booking:
It states free parking. The free parking lot is a couple of blocks away, in a public lot which isn’t clear until you check in ask about it. There is a small unloading area right next to the hotel, which is helpful. One of the two spots appeared to be occupied by an employee’s car. We chose to park on the street a couple of blocks away, check in, and go to dinner. When we returned from dinner and the street in front of the hotel was open, we moved our car and unloaded our things.
I don’t believe the hotel mentions all rooms are on the second floor and there is no elevator. We managed with our things, but I could see how this might be an issue for older people/disabled.
The room was clean, especially the bathroom.
The mattress and bedding were rough. The mattress had a memory foam topper which we personally found to be uncomfortable/not supportive. Two low quality pillows for two people.
It was a 78 degree day, the night stayed. Our room (I’m guessing) stayed 75-80 degrees all night as there is no AC (old building, makes sense in retrospect). There was a ceiling fan that took the edge off, but I did not sleep well. The window did open, but there was no screen so we kept it shut to avoid bugs.
At a peak summer price of ~$250, I wish we had done more research on the local hotel options.

Nice place at a charming town
We stayed July, 2024 just as a heat wave was starting to develop. Nice place to stay at downtown La Conner. Looks like an old historic building that has been renovated. No AC, just ceiling fan. We were fine with that. We got a room facing the courtyard which was probably why the room wasn’t that hot. Street facing rooms look liked they would be really hot. There is heat for cold weather stays. The free parking is whatever spot you can find around the city. During busy times Hotel Planter will provide a pass to park at a paid lot nearby.
Leah

My room was on the upper floor, no elevator and needed to walk up 2 floors. Room was clean and very nice. The bed was a little too soft for me but not a big deal. Loved the location to food and being able to walk around. Would stay again.

The property is a very small funky place. Definitely want to come here again.

Cute town, nice hotel with a great history, the availability of water bottles and coffee right by the room was fabulous and so was the delicious bakery right across the street! All was perfect! Thank You

Charming hotel in a great location. The courtyard is quiet and beautiful. Our host provided excellent recommendations for dining etc.

It was clean and quiet. It was a guest room at grandmas house. Very small. Older decor and tv. Gentleman at the desk was very nice. No assigned parking, had to walk 2 blocks with bag’s after finding a parking spot on the street.

Great spot!

I come here every year to stay at this hotel. The staff and amenities are perfect and quaint. Nothing fancy and the price is reasonable. It was warmer than usual for June and there is no aircon since it is a older restored historic hotel. But everything is just the sweetest and will be back next year.
Kari
Liked the historical building, one has to be able to climb a flight of stairs, no elevator. Really nice staff, good coffee, Hershey kisses available and bottled water included in the rooms.
Keith Freeman
A great place in downtown la coner. Talked with John the owner, Made you feel right at home.
Linda
This place was fabulous.quaint, quiet and perfect for our trip to the area for the April Tulip festival. I felt like I was in a Victorian Mansion. The staff was friendly even brought us coffee in the morning, after he finished freshly grinding the beans.
Mike
Be prepared to be an early riser for the noisy garbage and delivery trucks across the street. The work day starts at 5:45.
Linda
Great location, clean, friendly. Will come back. Room off the street only has blinds. Too bright at night. Would recommend black out curtains.
Bert
Beautifully restored with a hidden courtyard.

This was our second time staying at the Hotel Planter. Always a good time in LaConner and a comfortable place to stay. Nice and convenient, we were able to have drinks at the local tavern and walk across the street to our hotel afterwards.
David
We were checked in by the owner of the hotel. Very nice man, he gave us a brief history of the hotel. The rooms are very nice, it has been remodeled and upgraded, but still retains it historic charm. It is in town, so you can walk to everything.
Pamela
Wonderful
This hotel was very comfortable and was on the main street through town. Walking distance to food, shops and the water. Parking can be a bit difficult as it is wherever you can find a place to park. There is public parking that you can pay for about a block away from the hotel. We were very happy as this was our first visit to La Conner.
Robert
Beautiful hotel with soft beds and real towels!
This hotel was built in 1910 and was renovated by the owners turning it from a 22 bedroom hotel to a 13 bedroom hotel. So unlike a lot of old hotels, this one has a decent sized room. The room was very well done. There is no air conditioning however but that is not an issue 98% of the time due to the location on the Washington coast. The beds were the most comfortable I've been in at a hotel. Firm base mattress topped with a pillow topper. The sheets were soft. There are real towels in the bathroom too - not the stiff white ones you find almost everywhere else. It is located in a very cute harbor town with lots of unique shopping and good restaurants.
Verified traveler
Very pleasant. Informative and personable hosts. Lovely courtyard garden. Enjoyed the effots extended by the owners to provide modern comfort but maintain the period architecture and charm. We will visit again.
Nancy
Beautifully restored property with a lovely courtyard. The room was lovely as well and in keeping with the eta of the building. Great location on Main Street.
Laurie
Wonderful Place to stay.
The Planter is a great place to stay and the location is fantastic. The owners are very nice people. They made you feel at home. The rooms are comfortable, charming and cozy. The court yard is a beautiful place to site and relax. The place makes you feel like you stepped back in time. I highly recommend this place.

100 year old building with great location for walking around tourist town, but our room was way too small (because shoehorned into rehabbed old building) and noisy (tourists up early looking for breakfast places) because windows are on main tourtir Street No mini frig, no micro oven, etc, so value less than expected.

Lovely time and friendliest service. Told everyone to book here. Will comeback next year.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Planter. It a heritage building that's exquisitely restored. It's perfect for a quiet, comfortable stay in La Conner. Since it's in the middle of this small town, all you need to do is park your car for the duration of your stay and walk around the scenic and historic town.
The owners and staff of the hotel are such pleasant and cheerful people. We'll definitely visit again!
