Rooms themselves are very clean and modern. Hotel is right off the interstate, and right beside the freight lines, property noise is an issue. That being said, the price for this hotel while in line with the area, is shockingly high for a basic room. I stayed here out of necessity and because I knew some of the lower priced options nearby were very poor. I wouldn’t stay again just based on price, unless it was an emergency.

We stayed in 5 different hotels/airbnbs on a lengthy trip. At this particular one for 5 comfortable nights. This one was the cleanest and our favorite. Simple, comfy, spacious, plenty storage space. Impressive for the price.

I was surprised by the fact that there wasn’t an elevator to the 2nd floor. I didn’t read carefully so that’s my bad.

It was a little noisy, a little league team was apparently staying there two of the nights, we didn’t mind, and I don’t think that’s typical. I was annoyed by some loud cars revving up at 4-5am for whatever reason.

Weirdly, our favorite part was the lobby. There’s some kind of otherworldly or othertimely charm to it. Like stepping into a portal. Very chill.

Typical free hotel breakfast.

Overall it was a very nice, comfortable stay and we will stay there again when we go back.

We chose this hotel to celebrate my birthday and paid a premium peak-season rate because it was recently renovated, very clean, and offered the larger balcony room we wanted for our family.

At check-in, we were told the hotel was fully booked and were given a smaller room without a balcony instead of the room we had reserved. Thankfully, Expedia’s customer service worked with the hotel, and we eventually received the correct room.

Once the issue was resolved, our stay was wonderful. The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we had booked. My advice to future guests is to double-check your room type at check-in. Thank you to the Expedia agent for helping resolve the issue.

Nice rennovation. Handy pool access. Good floor plan. Close to restaurants for walk/drive. Excellent natural foods coop down the road. Bed comfy. Nice modern outdoor seating and dining options surrounding pool courtyard. A few fixture issues in bathroom. Needs a vertical grab bar on wall to get in/ out shower and not rely on glass panel as a handle. Bath faucet not securely installed. Towel rack had been repaired but not finished. No freezer in fridge, and took overnight to chill. Fun photo mural of Mt Baker and modern style furnishings. Parking close by. Spacious lobby/breakfast area (no plant milk options tho). Welcoming staff.

Pros: We got refunded

Cons: The photos online are very misleading. The property looked much more like a motel than a hotel.

At first glance the room appeared clean, but once we looked around it was obvious it wasn’t. The floors were filthy, there were black hairs everywhere—in the bedding, on the sheets, and throughout the room—and there was even food left on the floor. There was also a random used food tray left in the room.

The biggest concern was how dirty everything was, especially considering how many reviews rave about how “clean” this hotel is.

Another major issue was the front door. There was about a one-inch gap because it had no proper seal and we already had bugs crawling inside from under the door.

When we brought the condition of the room to the front desk, an employee came to see it for themselves. The only thing they could say was, “I’m so embarrassed,” which really said it all.

We were there for maybe 25 minutes before deciding we couldn’t stay. We packed up and left. If you’re assigned a room on the lower level, be aware that you can hear every footstep from the room above very loudly.

Instead, we booked the Hampton Inn just seven minutes down the road, and the difference was night and day. It was clean, quiet, and exactly what we expected from a hotel.

This was the first time we’ve ever checked into a hotel, walked into the room, and immediately decided to leave. Based on our experience, I would not recommend staying here.

Nice rooms, comfortable beds. I could not adjust the thermostat. Shower glass should be moveable. The hotel is oddly laid out in it’s lot, to get to the east side of the property you either have to drive all the way around from the front of the hotel or turn in by the Mexican restaurant.

This place is super clean & the staff was very helpful and friendly! The bed & pillows were very comfy, the room was extremely spacious, much more than your average hotel room, and it was located near many places to eat both in walking distance & close by driving. The hot breakfast was much more minimal than I anticipated but it would not deter me from staying again. Will definitely make this my go to Mt. Vernon place to stay

A good value in an over-priced Skagit Valley summer lodging marketplace.

Just off the interstate in Mount Vernon. Older, remodeled, clean, well-maintained, functional motel. Rooms open to the parking lot. Upstairs rooms are only accessible by stairs, no elevator.

The adjacent restaurant is closed, it appears to be under renovation. A coffee shop is a block away, as is Dairy Queen.

Breakfast was sparse. A waffle maker was the only \"hot\" food. No protein eggs or meat. They did offer yogurt, banana, muffin, juice and coffee.

Yes, we'd sleep here again. Convenient if not fancy--very clean.

We got a room on the first floor with king bed. We were impressed how clean it including the windows. There is a small coffee pot, microwave, and fridge. The tub shower was clean. Plenty of towels and washcloths. The only negative is the tv remote is rather challenging. When you spy a channel, you need to punch the numbers. The continental breakfast includes multiple bread types and toppings. There’s cereal, oats, waffles, OJ, coffee, etc.

We were provided with a very small room that was not suitable for two adults and two children. The washroom was also extremely small and uncomfortable, even for a single traveler. We noticed there were larger rooms available, but despite seeing that we were traveling with kids and clearly needed more space, no effort was made to accommodate us.

Also, this property is more of a motel rather than a hotel, which was disappointing compared to what we expected.

The breakfast options were very limited and mostly carb-based, with no proper protein choices such as eggs. It felt more suitable for children rather than a balanced breakfast for families or adults.

Overall, we were not satisfied with our stay.

Probably the cleanest motel I've ever stayed in. Rooms were obviously recently renovated, and more comfortable than several hotels I've stayed in recently. Pillow top mattresses, nice linens, and pillows that weren't flat made for decent sleep. Staff were friendly when I interacted with them. My only gripe was the shower....I think they were trying to make it look fancy with a glass wall, but it really just makes it awkward to get into.... Pretty minor for the value of this place, though!

Walls paper thin, I could hear everything in the surrounding rooms. Breakfast was yogurt and waffles and apples. That’s it (an hour into breakfast-not right before closing). We were put into an occupied room. After they moved us they forgot which room it was and started calling around 10 at night. And woke up with some bugs in bed (not bed bugs but yuck anyway). Now I’m getting other people’s “thanks for your stay” emails in my inbox box. Pay an extra 20 and go elsewhere

This property is an older motel, nicely and recently remodeled. The walls are a little thin (we heard some neighbors but it wasn't egregious). The room, lobby and breakfast area were fresh and spotless. Breakfast was a little limited (no eggs, bacon, etc.). They do have a great condiment selection for oatmeal or waffles: raisins, cranberries, granola, nuts, cinnamon. It would be a great, inexpensive upgrade to run a slow cooker of real oatmeal rather than the packets of instant.
