The worst thing was every item served on breakfast was expired. The milk, cereal, yoghurt, snack bars etc. my husband and I had an upset stomach for hours. We would never go back to this place

Staff support was good! Continental breakfast was a joke. Not good at all. Our room contained a broken down recliner. Foot rest was broken in the middle and would not fold down. Back of it would not stay upright, used wall to rest it against. Hairdryer would not stay in bracket, kept falling onto counter, and power outlets would not hold your charging plugs.
The ice machine was broken, came back to the room past the ice machine which apparently decided to disperse ice non stop and created a huge pile of ice on the carpet in the hallway which we immediately reported to staff. They did clean up everything and turned off the ice machine in short order. The TV volume could not be turned down. Find a better hotel for your stay.

Hotel website images were not accurate in their depiction of the hotel or room we stayed in.
Hotel front reception was unoccupied 90% of our stay. No visible staff were ever seen. Both mattresses on beds were sagging with springs visible under bedding. No warm blankets, just single cotton sheets. No bath mat for tub, no grab bars at toilet or in the shower. Toilet clogged in just a few hours after checking in. Gas fireplace didn’t work, so no heat in the room. No water in kitchen faucets.
We cancelled second night of our two day stay and requested a refund. Refund was denied by hotel manager.

Very nice location in Anacortes. The room was well equipped and spacious. Some items need to be replaced or fixed, like the cold water facet was not working and the fridge was leaking but not bad. Could use extra blanket as it gets cold overnight. Overall, a good stay.

Good location, reasonable price.
Coffee and breakfast are served at 7.30a, which is kind of late, if you are a morning person or have plans for for trips/hiking in early morning. One of the beds was uneven and shaky and was not comfortable to sleep in.

The place wasn’t as advertised. Very outdated and poorly maintained. TV remote didn’t work, beds were 1980s stock with bumps and low spot. Smelled musty and moldy. Stains on carpet and sticky floor gave me the creeps. Several outlets didn’t work and the scum in the grout joints was disgusting. Advertised breakfast did not exist. Barely enough to get by single ply toilet paper. Without a doubt the worst place I’ve ever stayed. I can go on but you get the picture.

By no means was this a 5 star property (maybe a 3+) but if you need a bed for one night that is clean and comfortable and not terribly expensive, this is your place. And they even have a real coffee maker! (bring your own filters and good coffee).

Overall our stay was fine. The room we ended up in while old was clean and the bed was comfortable. When we checked into our first room and the refrigerator was full of leftovers from another guest but they immediately moved us to another room when I brought it to their attention. It advertises free breakfast but it only consisted of bagels and bread for toast. Location was fine. Our only other con was the lighting outside is not good making it difficult to see when entering the property after dark.

This is a well located place to stay but I don’t think I’d stay here again. The room wasn’t especially clean, the kitchen was not well stocked with basic kitchen supplies, we only had about 8 squares of toilet paper, and the tissue boxes all had empty boxes of tissue in them.

The only decent thing about the Anaco Bay Inn is the location and room size The rest is severely outdated and needs a total renovation. The carpet in our room had holes in it and could use a good vacuuming around the edges. The sheets I’m sure were washed but stained along with the mattress cover, but the bed itself was OK. We had an old purple couch in the room that looked like it was left in the rain and was dirt stained and under the cushions was disgusting…..there was no way we would even think about sitting on it. The little kitchen was OK, but we found potato chips behind the microwave which suggests minimal cleaning. The continental breakfast was terrible, with only 3 small bagels, 4 thawed Eggo waffles, yogurt and cold coffee. The people that came in, looked around and left disgusted saying there was more to eat in a vending machine. There are better places to stay in the area and I would suggest staying some where else.

The sheets were dirty, we got new ones and then the mattress cover was dirty. We took that off and it looked like a crime scene on the mattress. Don't hope for wifi as it hardly works. TV has a lot of channels but unfortunately they are infomercials.
They had an excuse for everything including telling us that the previous tenant's washed there own linen...not.
You have been warned and I am 30 years in mattress and hospitality industry, don't stay here.

I knew this wasn’t going to be a modern, up to date hotel, and expected the bad decor. Unfortunately, it 1000% lived up to that and then some.

What I didn’t expect, was that the bed itself was 40+ years old and so worn out that it dipped like a horrid, spring filled crater in the middle. It was a recipe for agonizing back pain that not even the young and invincible could escape after sleeping on that dinosoar.

The sofa looked & felt like it too was born in the 80s. It sank halfway down every time we sat on it, and you could literally feel how long it’s been since the upholstery had been cleaned. It was not a pleasant feeling.

As a matter of fact, not one fixture in the hotel room looked like it had been updated since 1987 at best. And it wasn’t done well back then either.

It’s one thing to have tacky or outdated decor, and another thing entirely to have the basic things you rely on when staying at a hotel to be in such bad condition.

A decent mattress that doesn’t hurt should be a given, and the upholstered surfaces should be sanitary. Anaco Bay utterly failed in this respect.

Less dire but equally unsavory issues were the lack of any sense of basic hospitality or communication. The manager seemed like he couldn’t have cared less, and failed to mention simple things like what the wifi password was and the fact that there would be no housekeeping without requesting it from the front desk that was never manned.

For $175 a night, you would expect more than this.

This is an old place with outdated accommodation. Dark, dingey hallways and rooms-filthy carpets. Furniture in room unsightly. On check-in, unfriendly worker behind dirty glass window only opened window an inch to pass paper or receive credit. Understand if it’s a safety issue, but the office door from hallway was wide open! Breakfast was unappetizing. For the price-high season in Anacortes-not worth this price at all.

Good hotel in a convenient area.
We needed a stop over after a late ferry and this hotel fit the bill. The hotel rooms are a little dated but very clean, tidy and comfortable.
We loved how spacious the room was, and the fact that there was a kitchenette.
The staff helpful and friendly and accommodated our check in late with clear instructions about after hours check in. Great value for the price.

Pros: It was reasonably clean. The rooms are dated and could use some updating. The person checking us in was friendly. It was easy to find. It was a quiet place and we felt safe.

Cons: The front desk is not manned at night. Our bed had a funky smell. It was from the bedspread. There were strong food odors in the hallway. The bed also bounced a lot every time one of us moved, waking up the other person.

Overall it was fine.

After a long drive to the area we stopped for a late dinner. At about 9:40 pm I recieved a phone call from the manager telling me I had to check in before 10 pm. This was not stated in hotels.com so I told him that. We were 25 min away from the hotel. After several phone calls back and forth he told me the night manager would let me in but I had to be there by 10:30 pm. It was 9:55 at this point so we had our food packed up and arrived at the hotel in time to check in. He gave me the key without any instructions as to where our room was or what the key was for. (Turns out it was for both the outside door and our hotel room door)
As for the room, it is very run down with old furniture and old kitchenette. I wanted to make coffee in the morning but I found the pot was dirty and there was a dried up coffee bag in the basket.

The location is convenient but the bedding had small stains and the room next door was connected by 2 doors on the side of the room and offered little sound insulation. The neighbors weren't even that loud but you could hear even regular conversation clearly. The ice machine in the hallways also popped very loudly at 15 minute intervals.
