Anaco Bay is an older property and some may view the decor as not modern enough, but it feels a bit like an old fashioned island inn & is very clean & quiet, safe location in Anacortes with easy access to activities in the community, waterfront harbor and Fidalgo Island, short drive to ferry, etc.. It is very price worthy and welcoming for guests. The breakfast is very basic with only a few offerings. I would definitely stay again.

It was a very nice property, older but I have no problem with that in general. It had a nice rustic feel and was comfortable and close to everything. Anacortes is a small town but it still was very convenient.
Tiny tv, and the bed wasn't great, not bad but not great.
Overall I would stay there again and probably utilize the kitchen, which I didn't really use.

The bed was clean, not top shelf comfy, but ok. There is a gas fireplace that did not turn completely off so the room got hot. Fortunately it was cool and the open window helped. There is an air conditioner too. Fairly quiet except during peak traffic times. The carpet and furniture were older. Centrally located near many, many coffee shops and restaurants! Parking was close. Overall a decent stay.

Quaint older Lodge style. Our room was large with small kitchenette. Minimal shampoo and soap. Plenty horizontal surface area for toiletries and luggage. Glad to have a sofa, but it had some age on it. Breakfast minimal.

The rooms were old looking which made them look dirty. The outside was not kept up, there was trash where the old trash cans use to be, and the parking was terrible. The paint and outside looked old and dated. We had trouble with our toilet for three days, the person in the office tried and said it was fixed, but it kept plugging up. The reception area was cold looking and the person was in what looked like a ticket agent booth.

Continental breakfast was very sad. Strange smell in the room. Front desk did not ever have a person there. Direct tv in the room did not work. All of this maybe deserves 3 stars, but having a Canadian flag torn in half next to a newer American flag felt disrespectful. Better to not have a flag up at all. Many hotels nearby had a good Canadian flag flying alongside the American one.

We want to sincerely thank the manager for his helpfulness during our stay! Prior to our arrival, we didn't realize that the hotel's front desk closes at 10pm, so guests needed to arrive before then to check in. We arrived at 10:15pm to find the doors locked, realized our mistake, and called the phone number posted on the front door for help. The manager had already left for the night, but he turned his car around and came back to the hotel to check us in. Even though we had been an imposition, he was very friendly and understanding, which was VERY appreciated!

To avoid any misunderstanding for anyone reading my post, this 10pm deadline was stated in the confirmation email I received from Hotels.com, but it was buried in a long list of legalese that I didn't read word for word. It was my fault for not reading it.

First I booked Queen "Deluxe" room I got 2 full size beds.. I woke up at 4am to see the dinning table full of ants. Went to the front desk to let them know. There's a notes saying There's no one there to help until 7:30am. So came back around 8am the guy on staff said he'll get House keeping and he'll have a manager call me. I checked out at 10am house keeping never came and it's 3pm now and still no call from the manager. This place is horrible I'll never come here again felt dirty the whole day!

I'd recommend not to stay here unless you have to have a kitchenette and you're will to stay in a run down inn for more money than other places. The wifi was terrible. The bed was hard and lumpy, barely any covers to sleep under and everything was just worn down real bad. No elevator, not that I typically use them, but for some that may be a deal breaker. Short of a motel 6 in GA it may be the worst motel I've ever stayed in.

Staff and housekeepers were very friendly, room was clean and neat. Unfortunately, the rooms and furnishings are old and very worn. The bed was rock hard, the pillows were flat, some of the furniture had been painted and the paint was sticky and peeling in places, the bathtub was very worn and had been coated with something, maybe paint, which was badly peeling. Was very disappointed in the property condition. Aside from this, staff and service was excellent.

I like this property and have stayed here many times. It is my go to in Anacortes because rooms are large, quiet, and well heated in the winter. However it is aging and the breakfast really isn’t there. Breakfast has gone downhill steadily especially after Covid. They could do a lot immediately by upping the breakfast game. However it’s also time to start room renovations like new mattresses and linens.

We paid good money to stay here. We asked to have new towels each day - they do not service the room. We had the sign on every day, and we still had to request. Their breakfast is basically what is left over - don't count on it. We were going to head to Seattle a day early, so we didn't have to get up at 4am for a morning flight. Of course, they said we could leave a day early - but no refund of what we had paid because we went through Expedia. So check the price at the hotel directly, and you won't have this issue. They did say they might comp us for a future night - but as often as we go to Anacortes, we will not make the mistake of going here again.

Poor layout... no bathroom on first floor...windows left wide open in bedroom (unbeknownst to me hidden by blinds so freezing all night). Only one railing for exposed stairwell. Stains and dirt everywhere (including insect infiltration behind the microwave which itself was connected to an exposed broken plug which is a fire hazard). Poorly maintained (plaster all over bathroom; doors stained). Kitchen was dirty (I couldn't use the sponge as it was smelly and disgusting). Batteries missing in the TV remote. The staff at Front Desk were polite and helpful as they could be given the circumstances, but not available in the morning or late evening. Don't recommend!

Both the sink and bathtub were over flowing, did not drain properly. Towels had stains on them. The blankets felt very thin and had a distinctive scent. The carpet looks like it has never been vacuum or cleaned properly. The TV had issue turning on. We had to manually reset the TV for it to work. The carpets and walls in the hallways look outdated. All of our previous hotels allow us to check in early, they told us check in was at 3pm.

First complaint I’ve ever made. Very dirt, looks like when they went to furnish the place they went to garage sales and just pieced it all in. Couch and chair had full covers on them, I was afraid to look under them. Toilet seat didn’t even match size of toilet rim. Bathroom was really nasty. Towel rack fell off, shower water pressure very low. Carpet was dirty. Couldn’t leave bedroom ceiling fan on because it was about to vibrate off the ceiling. They had taken 4-5 pieces of cardboard and placed it in between the fan base and ceiling to try and hide the vibration. We were in a detached building from the main hotel building above a garage area. Had reservations for two nights but stayed one. Person at front desk told me he couldn’t get a hold of owner because he was supposedly out of town. Expedia made several attempts but couldn’t reach owner. I took a lost on second night reservation.

Staff support was good! Continental breakfast was a joke. Not good at all. Our room contained a broken down recliner. Foot rest was broken in the middle and would not fold down. Back of it would not stay upright, used wall to rest it against. Hairdryer would not stay in bracket, kept falling onto counter, and power outlets would not hold your charging plugs.
The ice machine was broken, came back to the room past the ice machine which apparently decided to disperse ice non stop and created a huge pile of ice on the carpet in the hallway which we immediately reported to staff. They did clean up everything and turned off the ice machine in short order. The TV volume could not be turned down. Find a better hotel for your stay.

Hotel website images were not accurate in their depiction of the hotel or room we stayed in.
Hotel front reception was unoccupied 90% of our stay. No visible staff were ever seen. Both mattresses on beds were sagging with springs visible under bedding. No warm blankets, just single cotton sheets. No bath mat for tub, no grab bars at toilet or in the shower. Toilet clogged in just a few hours after checking in. Gas fireplace didn’t work, so no heat in the room. No water in kitchen faucets.
We cancelled second night of our two day stay and requested a refund. Refund was denied by hotel manager.

Coffee and breakfast are served at 7.30a, which is kind of late, if you are a morning person or have plans for for trips/hiking in early morning. One of the beds was uneven and shaky and was not comfortable to sleep in.

The place wasn’t as advertised. Very outdated and poorly maintained. TV remote didn’t work, beds were 1980s stock with bumps and low spot. Smelled musty and moldy. Stains on carpet and sticky floor gave me the creeps. Several outlets didn’t work and the scum in the grout joints was disgusting. Advertised breakfast did not exist. Barely enough to get by single ply toilet paper. Without a doubt the worst place I’ve ever stayed. I can go on but you get the picture.

Overall our stay was fine. The room we ended up in while old was clean and the bed was comfortable. When we checked into our first room and the refrigerator was full of leftovers from another guest but they immediately moved us to another room when I brought it to their attention. It advertises free breakfast but it only consisted of bagels and bread for toast. Location was fine. Our only other con was the lighting outside is not good making it difficult to see when entering the property after dark.

This is a well located place to stay but I don’t think I’d stay here again. The room wasn’t especially clean, the kitchen was not well stocked with basic kitchen supplies, we only had about 8 squares of toilet paper, and the tissue boxes all had empty boxes of tissue in them.

The only decent thing about the Anaco Bay Inn is the location and room size The rest is severely outdated and needs a total renovation. The carpet in our room had holes in it and could use a good vacuuming around the edges. The sheets I’m sure were washed but stained along with the mattress cover, but the bed itself was OK. We had an old purple couch in the room that looked like it was left in the rain and was dirt stained and under the cushions was disgusting…..there was no way we would even think about sitting on it. The little kitchen was OK, but we found potato chips behind the microwave which suggests minimal cleaning. The continental breakfast was terrible, with only 3 small bagels, 4 thawed Eggo waffles, yogurt and cold coffee. The people that came in, looked around and left disgusted saying there was more to eat in a vending machine. There are better places to stay in the area and I would suggest staying some where else.

The sheets were dirty, we got new ones and then the mattress cover was dirty. We took that off and it looked like a crime scene on the mattress. Don't hope for wifi as it hardly works. TV has a lot of channels but unfortunately they are infomercials.
They had an excuse for everything including telling us that the previous tenant's washed there own linen...not.
You have been warned and I am 30 years in mattress and hospitality industry, don't stay here.
