This is an unusual property. It offers no breakfast, charges for snacks, is basically a motel with outside access to rooms, and is finished inside with rough wood, yet the high cost is equal to hotels offering much more (breakfasts, finished wood interiors). The bathroom door barely cleared the toilet, squeezing you in to close it. The furniture and ceiling are plywood. Our room did have a fridge and microwave, which was much appreciated, the room was clean, and beds comfortable. But next time we will stay at a hotel with better value for the high hotel cost.

I used the Anacortes Inn as my homebase while exploring the San Juan Islands. I was impressed by how clean and convenient the hotel was. Everything is updated in the room. The bathroom wasn't as updated, but it was clean and plain and that's all I needed for my 10 day stay. The rooms seem adequately insulated, because I did not hear any side to side neighbors. Having upstairs neighbors a few nights was a little rough... but maybe they just had loud feet. I still slept comfortably and the AC was great. The minifridge was great - and the freezer part worked! The front desk staff was very helpful at checkin and even provided me piece of tape that I needed to seal an envelope and as a bonus they gave my dog treats! There were several dogs (including mine) in the hotel, but the floors are vinyl, so they are very clean. I only had my room cleaned once, and it was accidentally overlooked, but as soon as I mentioned it, it was taken care of. That is excellent customer service! If you are looking for a posh resort, maybe skip this one. But if you are looking for a comfortable, clean place to stay that is central to a lot of amazing sites - I highly recommend. Plus there is a park right next door for late evening dog walks. And there is food and coffee within walking distance. I was traveling alone with my dog and I felt very safe at the hotel and surrounding areas. I had an amazing time and hope to return soon to the Anacortes Inn.

Nice clean and cozy room. Bed was very comfortable and hardwood floors, which is key. Room is small, not a lot of extra space for two people to splay out, but it was what we needed for a short stay. Microwave and mini fridge in the room which is always nice to have. Staff was very friendly when we were checking in.

The place was clean and located near anything you want in town. The room with a partial water view is right on the road and it’s a very loud road when opening a window. The room got hot so turned on the AC which was horribly loud as well and had to turn on just the fan part for sleep. Really need to find something quieter for AC units.

The Anacortes Inn is a little gem tucked away on a busy road. It looks like the rooms have fairly recently been renovated - hard floors, nice woodwork and wall art. Our room was very clean and met our needs for our brief stay. The customer service is excellent - front desk staff were very helpful in recommending sights to see and places to eat, and Elvita was immensely helpful and patient when we were having trouble figuring out how to use the room safe.

We would definitely stay there again should we find ourselves in the area.

The property was remodeled from what looks like an old motel, looks decent from the outside, but looks like there is not an lot of insulation between walls/floors. We had only stayed for one night, and my only complaint was that the noise levels on the first floor was unacceptable. The footsteps right above sounded like people running around above your head/bed at the crack of dawn, which tells me this place is not well insulated. Doors were loud/creaks during opening/closing.

My stay was ok - it was a decently comfortable and clean older motel. I have to say I was immediately disappointed when I walked into my superior king room - whoever took the photos should get an award. It was smaller and darker than it appeared, with just enough room to get around the king sized bed, and the window faced a dark stairwell. I don't want to be unfairly critical as they have clearly tried to make the place nice, keep it clean, renovated the sink/vanity area and done some cute decorating to modernize. But in person it really felt like a pinterest renovation because the trim repainting was really sloppy with drips all over and having painted over where it looks like an animal tried to chew its way out of the door. Also some things were really impractical like yes there is a desk but with the TV over it there is about 8" of usable surface depth so you can barely f

The pictures on Expedia of this hotel do not look like the room I actually stayed in. I wanted a room with a desk for my husband to work at. Yes, there was a desk chair, but there was no desk anywhere in the room even though the picture of the room online specifically showed the chair sitting at a desk. When we spoke to the front desk person, we were told that was the only room available. I would also note there were no bedside tables, no bedside lights, and no headboard on the bed. The room was clean but we would not choose to stay here again. I feel the pictures were very misleading about the type of hotel we were choosing to stay at.

The problem that we had with the hotel was that it is very lacking in sound proofing. When the people above us came in after we went to bed we could hear every footstep and their voices. The room was small, too, and we couldn't pass each other between the end of the bed and the TV, etc. Otherwise it was a relatively nice place.

The Good:
The motel looked nice and the rooms were pleasant looking and clean. Parking was good. The price was good. The staff was kind. The heating & cooling was a little loud but it worked fine.

Less Good:
-There were no night stands by either of the two queen beds.
-There was only one weird bed lamp swiveling between the beds mounted on the wall. The only sink was outside the bathroom in line-of-sight to the bed. So, there's no way to use the sink in the light without waking up my wife.
-I went to the lobby to ask about a place to eat and the door was locked with a "be right back" sign on it.

This is older motel that is fully renovated. I like the decor and the large countertops. The microwave is tiny, but the fridge is bigger than the standard Best Western norm. I was able to make ice overnight which is a big plus for me. When we arrived, the room smelled so fresh and clean, without the chemical smell.

I stayed at this hotel from Friday to Sunday, but unfortunately I had to check out early on Saturday night because of the noise.
The biggest issue is the poor sound insulation. The TVs from other rooms seem to be mounted on the wall right behind the headboards, so you can clearly hear everything from the neighboring rooms. During the night, my neighbor was playing loud music and it was almost impossible to sleep.
I understand that noise can happen, but the structure of the rooms really needs improvement when it comes to soundproofing. It made the stay very uncomfortable and I was not able to rest.
The location is good, but because of this experience I would probably not stay here again unless the noise issue is addressed.

Spotless room, recently re done and very tasteful and contemporary. Beds were awesome, ceramic mugs and large glasses. There were no nightstands or table lamps, only a shared wall lamp between beds, so that was a downer for me. I used our cooler as a night stand.
Friendly staff.
The room and lobby were decorated with the owner's art work which is sort of modern impressionist land and sea scapes. Very very nice.
We will probably be back.
