Lovely room with an amazing view. The rooms are on the top floor of an old building which means 70 stairs/steps but worth it when you get there. I arrived late so missed normal check-in times but the staff sent very clear messages with step by step instructions on how to get in. Highly recommended.

This property was just across the street from the Diocletian palace in Split and a 5-10 minute walk to the ferry harbor. The host was very helpful and carried my suitcase up the 4 flights of stairs. Very nice place to stay.

This is a great place to stay. It’s in a great location. We had a room with a balcony and a view over the sea and Diocletian’s Palace which was definitely worth paying a bit extra for. Toni, the owner, was very responsive. I would definitely recommend.

The property is a typical small room European boutique hotel. The shower, beds, a/c, and cleanliness were great. The manager Tony helped us within minutes by carrying luggage up the four stories and a small battery issue with the safe. The location is fantastic to the old city and the bonus is the local market outside your door for very cheap meals and groceries and beer. This is a gem but stairs will keep you from gaining weight

This hotel was in a convenient location just outside of the palace and walkable to everything. The host was friendly and helped carry my suitcase up the 3 or 4 flights of stairs. (There is no elevator). The rooms were comfortable but mine smelled a bit musty. The alley area where the hotel entrance is was a bit shady, and the main door look wasn’t working. I honestly would put this at a 3 star property rather than 4 but my stay was good.

What can I say, Unreal property right next to the old town - less than a minute walk, we had the room with the balcony and the views were unreal! You could see the marina and Diocletians Palace. Toni, the host, was more than accommodating, even helped us bring our bags up which was very kind of him. We were a young couple so we didn’t mind the stairs up - there were a lot and no lift so be prepared! - it was definitely worth the walk up though, the room was clean to the touch. Would definitely stay again if ever in split! PS if the room with the balcony is available book it it’s worth the view!

The rooms are a 10 minute walk from the parking, and up 7 sets of stairs, and there is no lift. In the summer heat this was challenging, but Toni couldn’t have been more helpful offering to help us with our bags.
It was great to have the balcony room, overlooking Split, we used this lots.
There is a supermarket, sandwich shop and bars all in the same block as the hotel.
We’d recommend visiting Goudin Pigeria for food in the market just outside the rooms.

My husband and I stayed here for a week in July and we had an incredible time. We booked the room with the balcony, which has an incredible view, and Tony was very helpful with carrying our bags up the stairs, providing restaurant and coffee shop recommendations, and with organising our room cleans. The accommodation is also in the heart of Split, so you have easy access to the palace, the marina, and the main market - we'd definitely stay again!

Fabulous location by gate into Diocletian Palace, close to cruise boats, market, restaurants and shops. Toni was very friendly and very helpful, he gave excellent advice about where to eat and shop. Very slight downside is It is on the 4th floor with no lift, but definitely worth it! I definitely recommend it.

La Porta rooms were very clean. Staff were very friendly. Tony messaged a few days before to ask time of arrival and I was met at the rooms. The bed was very comfortable. There is not somebody there all the time but this was fine. Tony was contactable if you have an issues. The rooms are on the top floor. The rooms were in a very good position just across from the duplications palace. There were a number of supermarkets nearby. Lots of bars and restaurants. It was a short walk of 10 minutes to the port and same to the bus station to get the airport shuttle. The main bus station is 10 minutes the other way to get local buses to Omiš and Trogir.

Room could not be more central yet was soundproof with window closed. Very comfortable bed, nice shower and a lot of wardrobe space to hang things. Amazing stay for a few days in Split! Toni was absolutely fantastic with us, super responsive and willing to help. Climbing up the few floors of stairs helped us to stay fit during the trip ;) great location, and breakfast service right at the heart of the old town. Would super recommend!!

Friendly welcome and help with luggage up all the stairs. Lovely well equipped room and a surprise bottle of wine in the fridge. Quiet room, comfortable beds and a good shower. A very pleasant start to our holiday.

The facility does not have an elevator. We were told the building is part of the UNESCO site and cannot be retrofitted with an elevator. We were fine with stairs but some people may need to consider this when choosing where to stay.

We chose this property as other people had positive experiences. Unfortunately, we did not have a pleasant time staying here. We arrived on a Sunday. The location was good and there is parking nearby if you're driving, however you have to inform the property in advance to reserve limited spots (this was not clear when booking). No lift in the building and unfortunately unlike other visitors, nobody was there to help us with 2 big luggages up 4 floors. Check-in was easy over an intercom, the man said he would greet us in 30 minutes but never showed up. Internet was not working, again said he would fix it but never did. We booked a room with city view but that was not the case, do not bother paying extra for this. Entrance to the property smelled awful but that might be out of the owner's control. The cleaning staff was polite which was a breathe of fresh air. Finally as a Silver member we were entitled to a bottle of wine but we never received it. Overall, an unenjoyable experience during tourist off season, one can only imagine how disappointing it will be during peak season.

Location is excellent, just outside the Deocletian Palace and by the local market. Complementary wine was poor quality but the manager was great at arranging airport transportation. The room and view were lovely. You do have to climb 79 steps to get to it though!

Brilliant stay in the sea-view room with a balcony. Great service, arranged reasonably-price airport transfer for us and met us at the taxi to show us to the hotel. Easy to contact staff via What’sApp. Gorgeous room with AC and amazing views, good amenities. The hotel is three flights up stairs, so be prepared to climb, but completely worth it if you’re able. Perfect central location within a two minute walk of everything. We even heard opera from our balcony in the evenings!

It is on the 4th floor and no lift. On a very hot day with 2 suitcases it was hard work getting to the top. I was soaked with perspiration and then had to call and wait for the host to come and let me access the apartment. No ideal if you’re 66

Very nice room, looks newly remodeled. Very clean. Lots of hot water, good AC. Even had a water cooler with bottled water so we could refill. Marin (our host) was very helpful setting up an airport transfer, and that worked well. And it was less expensive than a regular taxi. Uber was probably cheaper but we heard warnings that you can't always get one early in the morning. One caveat, its 80 stairs from the street to the room. Good exercise but not good if you really need an elevator. We didn't get our free bottle of wine, but we didn't remind them either. Wine is so cheap there !

Great Location for easy access to markets, port and palace sights. While we did expect the 80 steps up to get there, thanks to other reviews, the air conditioning unit was barely adequate to cool the entire space, and there is no luggage storage space if you depart in afternoon post checkout. If you are looking for Luxury, look elsewhere
This is a tough one to review. The luxury rooms appear to consist of four remodeled rooms on the top floor of an old building. The renovation was done well, the rooms appear to be very clean. However, the building entrance looks sketchy and you have to be prepared to lug your suitcases up 7 flights of stairs (there is no elevator.) The a/c worked great, but there was only a single sheet on the bed which kept getting entangled. Not a good night's sleep.

Nice, room with luxury bathroom but beware this is only for fit people as the rooms are on the 4th floor and there's no lift. Stipe, the porter is very helpful but is only present at the start and end of your stay. He carried our cases up and organised a taxi driver to bring them down on departure.

Excellent location and, if you come by car, easy transfer was provided to the close by parking lot. Very friendly staff! Only thing to note is that the rooms are on the top floor with no elevator but the staff were kind carrying the luggage both ways. Breakfast was very good and was served in a cafeteria three minutes away.

Hotel situated in a perfect location. The poor points are there is no lift and you have to climb 7 flights of stairs to the rooms.. The room itself was small with a tight shower space... requested some more coffee which never appeared so only had two coffee sachets for the whole 3 night stay... bed comfy and room tidied daily

Location was perfect. Breakfast was at another location and although it was excellent it was a bit of an inconvenience. We should have been warned about the 78 stone steps up to the 5 room hotel. Luckily, I went up first while my husband watched the luggage. The gentleman on duty was very accommodating and carried our bags both up upon our arrival and down at our departure. Since we were in a very convenient location we frequently would go up and down; in the summer heat this was a bit of a struggle. THe rooms were nicely equipped, although I think ours was the smallest, all new. It was a good value for the price, but a misnomer to call the rooms luxury.

The property was on the third floor of an unimposing building but the room had been beautifully modernize. A small balcony overlooked the main gat into the old city and the Green Market. The bathroom and wash facilities were very modern. Maximum use of space allowed for plenty of storage. The only drawback was 84 steps to reach the rook - quite the workout! Almost immediately below at street level was a fine bakery and pastry shop, and a few paces up the street an excellent pub.
