The hotel owner was so friendly and helpful. He picked us up at the airport, helped us with our bags, provided all kinds of tips and helpful information. We extended our stay a night due to a cancelled flight and he was able to accomodate us. The restaurant that provides the bed and breakfast packed a lunch for us for one of our tours at no charge. The location was superb!

This place is not for the faint heart…small spiral staircase to the rooms. Ours was in the attic.
The AC did not work and when I let them know, but nothing was done. The room was uncomfortable due to the slanted ceilings and no AC. The shower gets water everywhere…do not understand the designs of showers that aren’t enclosed. I hurt my neck trying to avoid hitting my head on the slanted ceilings. The location is amazing and the breakfast was good at a nearby restaurant.

Grgur Ninski rooms are in an amazing location right inside the historic centre of the Old City. The clean and comfortable rooms have been beautifully renovated. The very helpful owner sent us restaurant suggestions, instructions for our arrival and he also parked our car making everything stress free. The complimentary drinks in the fridge were much appreciated. Highly recommended for a stay in Split.

The location of these rooms is wonderful. Falcon, our host, greeted us enthusiastically soon after arrival with much information about our stay and the local dining options. The room was very comfortable with a stocked mini-bar. This was a welcome treat. The showers were hot with plush bath towels, bathrobes and slippers. The history of the Diocletian Palace is right there in the room with a stone wall and windows that are a testament to the history of this building. The breakfast at the LVXOR Hotel (2 minutes away) was delicious and served in yet another part of the palace overlooking the square. There were so many dining options with 1 to 5 minutes from the rooms. Falcon would have taken us to the airport but we had already prepaid for a ride. Overall, this was a fantastic three nights in Split.

The room we booked was not the room we were given on arrival. The owner said all the rooms were the same but they don't appear to be on Hotels.com website, different colour decor etc. We booked the larger 20sq metre room but the room we were given was not it. Nothing could be done as the hotel was booked out. We feel that there must have been miscommunication regarding room photos between Grgur Ninski rooms and Hotels.com. There was nothing wrong with the room we stayed in, just disappointing it wasn't the room we booked.

What an amazing location—right inside the walled old city! The windows were insulated enough to make room quiet, despite all the tourist activity right below. This property is literally inside Diocletian’s castle. You feel transported back a thousand years except you have a beautiful room with superior amenities. Everything was lovely. Book the room with the balcony and you can enjoy people watching while drinking the complimentary wine.

Check in was very easy and fast. We met up with our host so he could park our car. He had detailed videos of how to reach our room and also sent multiple ideas for restaurants and things to do. This hotel is in the palace so there is shopping and food all around you. It was super easy to jump in on a walking tour and learn more about the area! The room was clean and remodeled. The bathroom was pretty tight for 2 people and there wasn’t really anywhere to put your toiletries. The shower was beautiful and the water pressure was excellent. The streets inside the palace are very noisy, so if you’re looking for quiet, this would not be the place for you. Overall it was a very nice stay and I would recommend these rooms to everyone who wants to be close to the action!

Very easy to find. Host was responsive on Expedia app and whatsapp. Offered help w a boat tour and transfer to Hvar so we didn’t need to take a separate ferry. Clean and the bathroom was roomy. The bedroom in attic was tight because of roof eaves but spacious bathroom made up for it. Air con was a blessing esp during July hear wave.

Couldn’t have asked for a better location! Beautiful property and lovely hosts! If there is one small complaint it would be the parking/valet situation. The owner will park your vehicle at his property off site and drop it off for you as you wish. This is lovely and they are so accommodating, however having someone else drive your vehicle or rental vehicle might make you uncomfortable and we were not made aware of this before arriving. I’m not sure if we would have done anything differently but would have loved to know! The property itself is perfect and wouldn’t have changed a single thing!

My wife and I opted for Mladen (owner) to pick us up at the airport and he was the kindest soul. He picked us up late at night and brought us to our room and gave us good conversation and recommendations. He was so welcoming and helpful to us!
As for the hotel, I can’t say enough how positive an experience we had staying at Grgur Ninski. The room was very clean and renovated blending the old palace walls with the new. Location was impeccable as it was in the heart of Diocletian’s Palace, walkable to any restaurant and sightseeing in the Old City. Will be coming back to stay here next time we return to Split!

The property is in a great location in the historic centre and close to good restaurants and all the must see sights in Split. There is great attention to detail throughout the property and they really have thought about everything their guests may need.

Mladen, the host and owner of the property, was very friendly and helpful. He helped us with parking, restaurants and more. The hotel is close to the Golden Gate and Grgur Ninski statue and on the Cardo to the main square. Because of this location, it can be noisy if that is an issue for you. We were near the top of the building and there isn’t an elevator. However the stairs are new and easy to manage. The room was very comfortable and well stocked. I would highly recommend this hotel.

On our way back from Medjugorje, and on our way to Skopje, my wife and I decided to visit Split. We stayed one night at the Grgur Ninski apartments. The apartments are located in the heart of the old city, walking distance from many shopping, dining and other places to visit, as well as walking distance to the shore. The apartment was clean, amenities were very good, and the hosts (Milka and Mladen) were great and very accommodating. Split is a great place to visit, and we plan to visit it again.

We loved our stay at Grgur! You’re right in the heart of old town and everything is walkable. Keep in mind that you are in the middle of all the action, so if you’re a light sleeper you might not like the noise of all the activity going on early in the morning but we didn’t mind it at all! The host made sure we had a taxi to take us back to the airport and let us leave our luggage at the hotel so we had the ability to walk around before heading to the airport. I definitely would book another stay at Grgur. Kind host and rooms were very well maintained and clean.

The room and bathroom were on the small side but very clean. The mattress was excellent. The position is excellent in the middle of the old city. The main problem was the very poor breakfast provided by outsourcing. The options were very limited. The granola option was made with tinned fruit which is not acceptable for this price level.

Although the apartment is right inside the old palace, the inside has been renovated and fully equipped with modern essentials. It is surrounded by history, musuems, the market place, modern shops and the marina. There are plenty of choices for food and sight-seeing, all within walking distance. Love it.
