Very comfortable and fully equipped. The host (Sanja) and her son were very accommodating and helpful. Lots of stairs but very well located, close to everything within walking distance. We are sleeping in the walls of the palace !

The location of this apartment was amazing, only a few steps from one of the entrances of Diocletian’s palace. The size of the apartment was good for us 5, was clean, and had a washing machine that is important for us to travel light. The furniture and decoration were modest, but it was comfortable to stay there.

Cozy rooftop apartment near all sites

Perfect central location for Old Town. Convenient shops and restaurants nearby. We knew from the booking and reviews to expect stairs, so were not at all surprised or disappointed, but this is not a place to stay for someone who struggles with stairs. However, because we were high up, we had GREAT views of the city from our stairs. Nightly concerts played music but not too late and closing windows effectively blocked sounds. A/C kept us comfortable all night. Overall great stay.

Fabulous location, pleasant apartment

This apartment is in a great location just a couple of minutes' walk from the main sites of Split which means you can get there early before the crowds. It also has a great little coffee stand downstairs and a bakery/supermarket close by for breakfast items. The apartment was very clean and well equipped and the hosts were attentive. As others have commented, there are lots of stairs up to the apartment, so this is not for anyone unprepared for that. The bedrooms are well proportioned, though the communal space is very small if you intend to spend much time indoors (we didn't except for one rainy afternoon) and there is no outside space, e.g. a balcony. The air conditioning was highly appreciated as it was very hot. The only downside for us was that it could be noisy sometimes which is probably to be expected so close to town. There was a large crowd in the apartment downstairs that partied into the night (Split is definitely a party town in August). And there was a nightly concert in the park next door which should have finished at 11pm each night but didn't always, and there was other music going until the early hours. As cars are not permitted in Split itself, there are drop-off points around the city for deliveries for restaurants etc, and one of these points is below the apartment. So, great apartment in superb location with friendly hosts, but take earplugs if going in high season and a light sleeper.

Love, love, love Sanja and Rooms in the Palace!!!!

Our stay with In The Palace was so memorable. We couldn’t believe we would be staying in one of the palace towers!! The owner, Sanja, is very kind and accommodating. She is the sweetest person you’ll ever meet!! She made us feel like family and we felt welcomed the moment we meet her. She was waiting for us at the apartment when we arrived and checked in with us later to make sure we had all we needed. We rented the entire apartment so it was incredibly spacious for the three of us. It’s so cute, clean and in a fantastic location with beautiful views of Split. The beds and linens are very comfortable, and the showers has ample room and water pressure. The apartment is just steps way from the Fish market, Green Market, grocery stores, along with restaurants, sights, shops and the ocean. We are looking forward to another stay with Sanja!!

Convenient, friendly and comfortable Stay

The owner was very friendly, helpful and flexible in getting us checked in. She provided a very clean home-away-from-home experience. There were 3 rooms with beds for 6 (plus the couch looked like it could hold 1-2). The location is fantastic - on the third floor in the NE corner of Diocletian's Palace. Wonderful!

A gem in the walls of Diocletian's Palace

We have nothing to complain about the Apartment In the Palace Split as it exceeded all our expectations and was good value. The owner Sanja was warm, hospitable and helpful. The apartment provided great easy walking access to all the sights of the Old Town (it is just a 1-min walk to the entrance of the East Gate), the markets, the Riva and to the ferry port where we could catch our catamaran ferry easily to Hvar Island. We also managed to take a leisurely 30-40 min walk from the apartment to Marjan Hills. We should mention that the apartment is at the top floor (in what was formerly the tower of the East Wall of Diocletian's Palace), so keep your luggage light as you have to lug them up a few flights of stairs!

Palace of Split

The location is amazing, the owner is amazing. Really takes care to ensure a smooth arrival, check-in and experience. Very clean apartment and shared washroom. We had a great view from our room. Everything in Split is walk able from here. Free shuttle bus to Mall of Split right down at the end of street market. Port, bus station and rail station all within a few minutes walk. The bonus... You get to stay alongside 1700years of Roman history!

Warm welcome to Split

The owner is really lovely. She welcomed us the day before we came out to Split, and was waiting in the apartment for us when we arrived with a lovely warm welcome. The apartment is spacious and just perfect for staying a few nights in Split (maybe even more). The Bathroom was clean and towels were laid out for us ready to go.
The rooms were very clean and the location is amazing- right in the main square of split walking distance to everything.
I would definitely recommend staying. Had a great time!

Great romantic place

Staying in the 1700 years old building, yet in the reasonably renovated apartment, was a unique experience. More suitable for young and/or fit people, though: 86 steps up from the street level, weekend late night noise from the drinking parties in the nearby old town, small bathroom. Hotels located directly on the nearby boardwalk (Riva, 200 yards from this apartment) are not only expensive for the place like Split, but also subject to the same noise, and additional strange smells from the numerous nearby restaurants and the harbor. If you are in a good shape, and/or in a romantic mood, would highly recommend this place which is actually inside the old Roman Imperial palace, also beware that a common area of the building is very much like a decoration to the postwar Italian romantic movie.

Unusual apartment in ancient tower

This is a delightful and unusual apartment in one of the wall towers round Dioclesian's palace right in the heart of Split. Well equipped and spotless, and friendly owners arranged to meet us on arrival.
We only stayed overnight as our flight got in too late for our ferry to Hvar. Split is spectacular and worth a much longer visit.

Perfect!

Perfect. I was looking for a place to crash at night that was clean and wouldn't break the bank, and I found it. Immaculately clean—it's an apartment, not a hotel—and perfectly located to take in the palace and old city. Parking's a bit crazy, but the proprietor (and her son) met me and guided me to a (paid) guarded parking area. I'm fit, so the stairs didn't bother me at all, and the views (I had the twin room) were spectacular, making the climb well worth it. There is no \"service\" in the apartment while you're there—again, an apartment, not a hotel—but Sanja provided her mobile number for any questions I might have (and responded promptly): for an independent, low-maintenance traveller like myself, it was amazing.

Great little apartment

Had a large room within the apartment with air con- lovely welcome gift of a bottle of water and juice! Bathroom clean, couldn't believe the view from it! Right in the heart of split! Manager on time to drop off the keys! Only down side, if you are tall you will not fit in the shower (over 5\"8)

Local, close by. Clean room, very friendly host Sanja. She was wonderful and very friendly and helpful. Only fault is that the shared home has 6 flights of stairs. Not ideal for travellers with 25kg bags.. Other than that, it was a lovely stay.

This appt. was only required for 1 night as we were en route for a ferry to Hvar Island. It was suitable but access to the top floor appt. was difficult and worrying. There were several separate flights of steps, 90 in all and on some there were no handrails on either side. Arriving with 2 very young grand-children and luggage caused us concern. Perhaps this should be mentioned in its description

Great location just outside of walls of diocletion

All good but one flaw. Bed was impossibly noisy. I woke myself up every time i moved. Even when just moving around normally, it sounded like a wild love making session. Eventually, we had no choice but to lift the mattress off bed and set it on the floor. Only 3/4 of it fiit, so it was like sleeping in a rolled taco, but at least it was quiet. The reason is the regular slats of the bed had been replaced with sheets of mdf, or particle board. It was obvious that others had this problem, because napkins were jammed between the boards which creaked and moaned, but unfortunately, this will not fix the problem. A bed has slats so that when there is weight on the bed, the slats absorb the load. I dont know if all rooms had this problem or just ours. Location is great, so if you dont mind the noise, then its good to stay here.

Lovely place to stay although difficult to locate and situated up MANY MANY steps. Be warned: if you have a suitcase you will have great difficultly accessing the apartment.
Owner is very friendly and welcoming although there is no possibility for early check in or bag drop off so think about this when planning your arrival time!

Beautiful location but too hot!

This apartment is beautiful, located in an old Guard Tower right beside the Palace. The welcome was more than you could ask for, and everything was clean and tidy. However, there is no air-conditioning, meaning the room temperature was from 28-34 degrees (in June). We could not sleep as we were just so so hot! Also be warned that the apartment is reached from three flights of steep stairs, so is not the easiest to drag a heavy suitcase up.

Unique - centre of town in a 1,700 year old Tower

We stayed in a three bed apartment and were late in arriving, but the manageress who lived some distance away waited around for us and was very pleasant. Unique place to stay - the walls were several feet thick, some of the windows overlooked the Palace/Old Town. The apartment was clean, well looked after and had everything we needed. The manageress put some bottles of fruit juice and water in the fridge for us before we arrived which was a nice touch - no charge. We didn't cook there but ate out. The only drawback would be the three sets of staircases to reach the top of the tower (the apartment) - which for us added to the experience - but older people or those with many cases would find it difficult. Overall an unusual place to stay but a good and different experience.

スプリット旧市街を囲む城壁の北東の隅に建つかつての櫓?の最上階が3室のアパートメントになっていました。部屋はきれいで、共同のキッチン・バスルームも使いやすかったです。アパートメントなので、事前に大体の到着時間を(Expediaのメッセンジャー機能で)知らせておき、宿主が来たところで鍵の受け渡しと部屋の使用説明、支払を行います。約束した時間に正確だったのと、お勧めのレストラン情報を含む丁寧な説明が印象的でした。冷蔵庫に冷やしてあったウェルカム・ドリンク(大きなペットボトルの水と1リットルのジュース)は、夏に外を歩き回った者としては大変ありがたかったです。

très bien pour les piétons

chambre très bien située quand on est piéton puisque dans la zone piétonnière sur le palais dioclétien, nous avions choisi cette chambre car il y avait soit disant un parking payant hors il n'y a pas de parking ! il s'agit d'un petit parking de ville où il est très difficile de trouver une place puisque la ville est bondée de monde en été !!! si nous avions su cela avant nous n'aurions jamais choisi cette chambre !! néanmoins une fois garé ( à 1 euro de l'heure tout de même) on peut tout faire à pied; la chambre est propre climatisée, nous avons été très bien reçu avec une bouteille d'eau et de jus de fruits dans le frigo, frigo et congélo appréciable en été même si nos voisins ne fermaient pas leurs bouteilles d'eau et que l'eau coulait depuis le frigo dans toute la cuisine, obligé d'éponger pour les autres ! mais ça ce n'est pas de la faute de l'hôtelier.

This place was exactly as we expected and as the add says, so we were very satisfied with our stay! We got a very friendly and professional welcome by one of the hosts.The location is definitely the best part, and of course the wonderful view from the toilet window. Our room and the common areas were clean and spacious, as well as the common bathroom. The building is quite old, which probably can explain the not so sound proof walls and doors. It was not a problem for us though since all of the other ones staying there were also very calm and respectful. All in all it was a very comfortable one night stay at In the Palace!

Chambre bien situé dans le quartier historique

Quartier sympa, très bon accueil de la propriétaire.
En revanche les autres occupants se sont montrés bruyant et il ya peu d'isolation phonique. Axe d'amélioration : graisser les portes qui grincent :) douche avec plafond bas, peu confortable pour grande taille. Également situé au dernier étage avec bxp de marchés.

Härlig lägenhet med spektakulärt läge.

Vi är jättenöjda, rent och snyggt. Ägarinnan bjöd på förfriskningar när vi kom och var mycket vänlig. Det fanns kaffe och te som de bjöd på. Vi kom sent på kvällen och lämnade direkt morgonen efter, men läget på lägenheten är fantastiskt!

立地の良さのみ

こちらもホテルではなくSOBE(=貸部屋)です。建物は築数百年で部屋は傾いています。階段しかなくスーツケースを運ぶには相当大変です。チェックイン時、毎日ハウスキーピングの方が掃除に来ると言っていましたが3日間掃除された形跡はありませんでした。ごみ箱もなくオーナーにメールで依頼しなくてはなりませんでした。バスルーム、キッチンは共同で鍋や食器、スポンジは清潔とは到底言えません。パスルームも誰かがシャワーを使っているときはトイレに行けないというつらい状態でした。唯一良かったのは立地です。街の中心にあること。長距離バスターミナル、船の発着地点、街中心部はのアクセスはとても良かったです。Splitの街は街もまたその周辺の島々への拠点としても良い街です。

Beste Lage direkt im Zentrum. Historisches Ambiente. Gute Ausstattung.
Freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Vermieter.
Parken in der Nähe nur auf gebührenpflichtigem Parkplatz möglich (Vermieter hilft bei der Parkplatzsuche).

Top location, super apartment in the city center!

The apartment wasn't hard to find. Sanja met us there and introduced Split to us, we even learned a few words in Croatian from Sanja. The view was great and everything was clean. We really liked it during our two nights there and would definitely recommend it to others!
