The front desk lady said she was unable to extend our check out time, by an hour, on Saturday morning when there were only eleven rooms booked the night before. Also, the air conditioning wasn't working. The check in gentleman was helpful and arranged for a cot for us.

Checked in at 9pm, left at 4am because couldn't handle it anymore. 3 days and no fix? Come on...

We had to stay two nights and left after one since there was no AC with 30 degrees outside and inside the rooms/hotel. We asked for a full refund and not to be charged when we checked out early but the staff still did. When we were in room and complained about it, requesting a full refund and were told they have to get hotels.com to initiate it. We did that and hotels.com said that Casablanca has to issue it. Im still waiting for a full refund with two kids, it was the worst stay of our life. And we travel a lot!

This hotel is terrible. We arrived and the air conditioning was not working...during the most humid weekend in July. They provided a fan and said the power went out so the A/C was just trying to catch up. However, reviews for the hotel from the past said that the AC was not working prior to this. After the AC was on for several hours we came back to an even hotter room and even with the fan on, it was unbearable. We left for another hotel at 11:30 pm because we could not sleep at all. The hotel is dingy and stinks...it has certainly seen better days. How can they rent out rooms to a hotel that they know does not have operating air conditioning?

When we arrived, the temperature outside was 35 C (95 F). We were given a room where the air conditioning did not work. The clerk told us that they have problems in some rooms with air conditioning and told us to move to another room. We did that. Then the whole region lost power, and the power did not come back for hours. When the power came on, the air conditioning did not work. We were told that the hotel has a persistent problem with air conditioning. We are in our late seventies, and as the European experience shows, people our age face a high risk of death in extreme heat. This is not melodrama; this is actually a scientific fact. We did not sleep all night, and we were feeling ill. We kept cool using wet towels. In the morning, we checked out prematurely. If you wish to use this hotel, do not go in the summer. Go at a time of moderate temperatures. Casablanca Hotel is accepting a high responsibility for not providing a warning that the air conditioning does not work properly and for protecting lives of potential patrons. Expedia should demand a statement from their hotels that the hotels they promote have all the necessary safety features.

Very disappointing experience. The hotel was extremely dirty and poorly maintained. The room felt neglected, and many areas looked like they hadn’t been properly cleaned or cared for in a long time. To make matters worse, there was no air conditioning, making the room unbearably hot and uncomfortable. Overall, the property seemed run-down and not managed properly. I would not recommend staying here.

I was heading to Niagara for a wine festival and booked to staying overnight at the Casablanca. I unfortunately had a multi vehicle high speed accident on the highway. I was badly injured and headed to ER in an ambulance. My husband called to advise them that we would not be now to attend, and to just charge our credit card, and the lovely woman who answered the call AA uses us that she would just cancel the booking with no charge. With such fantastic customer service I will definitely book again.

We found out at 7 pm that they had no A/C. Offered us $30 off or no charge if we didn’t want to stay. Everywhere in area was booked for different functions. A lot of very unhappy people. Very disappointing and with no notice very unprofessional.
Safe to say will be last visit which is also disappointing because in past it was not a bad spot.

The rooms were so hot, ac was set to the lowest but still blowing warm air. Was horrible and we only used the rooms to sleep, but not much sleeping happened due to the temperature, we were getting ready for a wedding, couldn’t do our hair or makeup due to the heat, showering was pretty much useless as well. Although management knew for several days that the air conditioning was not working in the hotel, they failed to notify us, although we had booked months ago. It is obvious this hotel is getting ready for the wrecking ball. It was 30 Celsius outside, you can imagine what it was inside.... Only way to get any sleep was with a soaking wet bath towel over me. I felt sorry for the staff, and how could housekeeping clean a room in that heat? Dreadful.

I’m all for giving a budget hotel some grace—after all, you usually get what you pay for. The hotel had a cute, quaint entrance with a beautiful staircase that made a great first impression, and the woman who checked us in was very kind and helpful.

Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. The air conditioning didn’t work, the safe didn’t work, and neither did the bathroom light. There was also a very strange smell throughout the property.

While the location was excellent, I wouldn’t recommend staying here, especially during the summer. The room was simply too hot to be comfortable, and the maintenance issues made for a disappointing stay.

But we really needed two since we were staying in a suite and I had 3 kids with me a- a newborn, a 2 year old. And a 5 year old. The room was very hot and uncomfortable to stay in. The late night staff at the hotel was amazing, he did whatever he could to make our stay a little better. Unfortunately the day staff was angry and not helpful at all. There was always an excuse or reason as to why she could not do anything. We even witnessed her yelling at a family in the pool. The hotel was unbearably hot and unfortunately smelled quite bad. I am sure in its prime this space was great but it has definitely started to fall apart. Very sad.

Check-in was good. Front staff were rude. Had to plunge my own toilet and cleaning rooms only done once every 3 days. Went swimming and got yelled at by front staff for having floating devices and toys in the pool that were already in the pool when we entered. Room was hot. No towels day two as we were told towels are brought in and not laundered on site. Overall terrible experience would not consider staying again.

Great location, beautiful architecture but there was no dining options, the desk staff wear many hats so often there was a “be right back” sign out and some of them did not appear to enjoy working their shift.
Strong chlorine smell in the lobby, no dining options, the shower curtain fell down when I hung a wet towel on it (I’m old so I knew how to fix it), housekeeping every third day but if you appreciate character hotels those issues are worth the experience.

Angel on 2nd shift at the front desk is just their namesake-an absolute angel.
Every time I stay, the experience is that much better, and I love the view of the lake sooo much!

Great spot for a family on a budget. The pool kept the kids entertained every day. The king suite with attached living space and pullout couch meant that as parents, we got to have some privacy but still be able to hear if anything was up. Nothing extravagant, but that's ok! This is our second year staying at The Casablanca, and we would gladly go again.

I went to leave my room and the door lock did not work and I could not secure my room. Front desk staff gave me another room (upgrade) immediately. The location is wonderful, stayed with my dog, went for a beautiful walk at lake front, visiting stores on main road. Beautiful.

From the moment I got there the sink was clogged and wouldn’t drain. Front desk couldn’t care less. They absolutely knew there was an issue. I got into the room to wash my hands. The sink never was empty after that. By the next morning, it was at max capacity, you couldn’t wash your hands or face or anything. Front desk said “ok, thanks for letting us know”. Spoiled my stay. Couldn’t wash your hands properly afraid the sink would overflow. They totally knew there was a problem but didn’t care. Didn’t offer any solution.

We were next to the elevator and at 11:30 & 12:30 kids were running up & down screaming.
Our rooms were NEVER done up. They said only ever 3 days. No garbage emptied, beds not made up. When i asked about this the comment was that i should have been told at check in. NO at booking!
Bath tub was slippery with no safety bars or safety strips. Was afraid to fall as i was slipping getting in.
Don't expect my bed changed daily but made, garbage taken and light vacuum.
Furniture and decorations were very old and tired.
No double queen rooms.
Had to go to desk for a pad & pen and kleenex.
Exercise room was in basement, very poor ventilation, no clean mats for floor exercises.
Also heard by several locals that they are closing and even heard its going to be torn down, where's the demo team!
Front lobby is beautuful! After that down hill. Definitely NOT 7 Star! Very over priced!
Usually I stay at Choice chains were they are cheaper, offer a free breakfast AND service the room daily.
NEVER will stay there again. Hopefully wrecking ball will arrive soon.
