This hotel was lovely. Very comfy and cozy, and they were able to accomodate a late check out which was amazing! They have two resturants on-site, that also offers room service which was great! We had Denny's both mornings, and Moxies for dinner! Overall, would definitely stay here again!

A very pleasant 1 nite stay at Sandman Hamilton! 1st time stay!
Easy check in, although 4 pm check in time is very old fashioned and pretty late in the day. Hospitable staff at the front desk and welcoming.
The room was very nice and clean, some minor wear and tear but very comfortable!
The pool area was nice, way too loud with the kids in there, too many kids and the water in the whirlpool was, well, let’s say, could have been better attended to! Towels were provided!
Had the opportunity to have late bite Denny’s that’s inside the property!

Not sure what this property used to be, but not at the same level than any other Sandman hotel. The inside of the closet still had the teal coloured paint! We had no hot water upon arrival and as much as they said they reset, we had issues until our departure on Sunday.
Was so disappointed as I specifically booked Sandman as I love their hotels.

We stayed for one night in a king room. The room was more than we expected, very spacious, the bathroom was very large with a nice big tub. The bed was very comfortable with lots of blankets that actually kept us warm I actually didn’t have to ask the front desk for an extra blanket because they were actually good blankets.
The hotel had 2 restaurants which we found very convenient. The location was very convenient with lots of amenities around such as Walmart.

Our stay was fairly average overall, with a mix of positives and areas that could really use improvement. The room itself was an okay size, but cleanliness was a concern—particularly in the bathroom, which seemed like it hadn’t had a proper deep clean in some time. The baseboards were noticeably dirty, and there were stains on the walls that took away from the overall feel of the space.

There were also some maintenance issues. One of the drawers wouldn’t stay shut unless we physically blocked it with a chair, and the fridge had an unpleasant, lingering smell. The furniture felt quite outdated, especially the chairs, and the bedding was just okay—the pillows were small and flat, and the duvet felt very basic rather than comfortable or cozy.

The pool area was nice in terms of appearance, but quite small. It became crowded quickly with more than a few people, which made it less enjoyable.

On the plus side, having convenient access to Denny’s for breakfast and Moxie’s for lunch, dinner, or evening drinks was definitely a highlight and added some value to the stay.

The room was beautiful, with high ceilings. The attached restaurants are accessible without going outside. There are plenty of other restaurants in the plaza around the hotel, and a Walmart for whatever miscellaneous items you may need. GO train station nearby. The lot across from the Hotel has not yet been developed.

I booked an accessible king room. The rooms have a power assisted door (push switch) which made getting in and out of the room very easy. The room was well appointed and had ample turning radius for for my small electric wheelchair.

The staff were exceptionally helpful including calling local taxi companies to help me arrange accessible transit to the airport.

There are several restaurants within “walking” distance as well as a super Walmart (which weirdly has no baskets so I had to ask for a personal shopper).

I would recommend this hotel to other travellers.

Nice hotel, enjoyed our stay, but we were unaware that we had to pay with credit and almost had to search for somewhere else to go. Luckily the manager worked it out for us and we paid debit as we had planned. But it was upsetting and should have been something we were made aware of at booking.

Rooms were clean, the drawers kept rolling out on their own which was annoying. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pool was small and crowded but to be expected given there was a major event in town. Breakfast voucher could have been explained a bit better upon arrival but I also didnt ask any questions so that is on me. Upon going back to our room from breakfast there was some renos taking place, the main floor hallway had the carpet being pulled out, minor inconvenience to take the stairs. Overall hotel was great and close to necessities! Would stay again

The room was nice however the faucets in the bathroom were loose and the shower faucet was broken. The fan in the washroom was also loud/broken. Very little to no hot water. Homeless people were in the main lobby every morning which made it very uncomfortable and doing drugs outside at the main entrance. I would not go back unfortunately.

If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is not your place!!!

We booked 2 rooms at this hotel for 11 night due to a death in the family. While we were there a few hockey teams checked in (ages 10-16). They constantly ran up and down the hallways screaming. The parents were drinking and talking very loud in the hallways. We talked to the front desk and they moved us promising no hockey teams or family’s were on the 5th or 6th floor. We were moved to the 6th floor and hockey family’s were all around us. The next night it was so bad the cops were called (not by us). They had security walking the halls, but the running and yelling continued. We talked to the staff the following day and they told us a lot of damage was done that night as we noticed frames ripped off the walls of the elevator.
We also received a letter under our door telling us they were turning the water off from 11am to 4pm. Forcing us to leave the hotel as we couldn’t even use the bathroom.
This was not an enjoyable experience. I would expect this from a lower end hotel. We spent the extra money booking at the sandman as we were dealing with the loss to our family and expecting a more respectful establishment/crowd. As I said if I knew our stay would have been like that, I would have saved some money and booked at a lower end hotel.

I stay here frequently for work. I ended up with an update for $20 a night with a kitchen and living area which was lovely. Room very clean. New shower faucet was really confusing to use and you couldn’t actually see on there where the hot and cold was. Also no vanity kits. Was desperate for a shower cap and nail file.

Check in was good. Friendly front desk. He asked for my
Credit card. I said do you need my ID? He said oh yes thanks for reminding me. The next day my key wouldn’t work and he re set it without asking for my ID. I said don’t you want to see my ID?? This is the reason for my 4 star rating. I really like it here but does that mean anyone could randomly get a card re programmed? Something small but safety as a woman alone is priority.

Booked this hotel from rading previous reviews as Ive never heard of this hotel chain.
Check in was a little slow as they had only 1 person doing checkins while a manager was walking around and 6 people waiting to check in.
Besides that the stay was amazing. Very clean, up to date room. Front desk staff very welcoming anytime you went in and out of the hotel as well as staff when you met them in the hallways.
Loved having Walmart and other restaurants in the area. Super safe area to be in

Our children had a reaction to the pool: their skins were red and irritated (all 3 kids). So we called them the day that we checked out to explain our concerns about their pool. The manager called and apologized for this incident. They just switched to a bromine system for water filtration and not chlorine so our kids may have reacted to that. We have been to many pools and this had not happened before.

Overall the facilities were great and the check in was fast and professional and kind staff.

All of the staff at this location were wonderful! Ethan checked us in and was so sweet to upgrade our room for us to a suite - my daughter loved it! The bed was super comfortable. We ate at Moxies and the food was fantastic. Would definitely stay here again when in town!
