Walked in; the room smelled of vinegar and? The Vinegar at least told me there was some cleaning, which is good.
The bad:
Inside of the door was disgusting at the bottom - looks like it never saw paint forever.
I think my phone was bigger than the tv.
Comforter stained terribly.
Bed was disgusting in general - had not seen NEW linens in years and years.
You pay generally pay less for a Motel and normally get less, but clean and general upkeep are not exempt.
We walked out, turned our key in, got our deposit back and drove away!!!

We had a very nice stay at this motel. The front desk was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, with a comfy bed and functional air-conditioner. The floors look new and the bedding is clean. The blackout blinds were a welcome surprise. We enjoyed sitting outside in the evening where there are lovely perennial gardens & roses. I'd like to stress this is by no means a luxury place. It needs a lot of work done to the rooms, such as consistent paint and refreshed baseboards, non wobbly bedside lamps with cleaner shades. You won't find a coffee maker, iron nor a hairdryer. But if you're looking for a quiet, comfortable sleep at a very reasonable price, please choose the Haven Inn.
If you have time to explore the area, take a walk through the grounds at White Chapel Memorial Gardens across the street. It's a spectacular spot.

For a rushed booking at a low cost, Haven Inn was a great place to stay! Staff were always available, my room was fresh, neat, and clean, my bed was comfy, and I was never disturbed from any noises.

Perfect? No. The bathroom was a bit cramped around the toilet space. No gym amenities (if that matters to you). But any blemishes were tiny in scope, and I'm overall quite happy with my stay!

Please do not go there. Is horrible, smells so bad, cigarette smoke odour everywhere from reception to the rooms. The rooms are so dirty, with mould, the bed frame so weak that every turn on the bed is a sound of the weak frame. Even a school dormitory is far better.

This is a great spot if you’re looking for somewhere economical for a night or two. While I agree the property and room is showing its age, my room very clean and comfortable and just what I needed for a quick stay without spending too much money. It is also located in a good place for grabbing food and other essentials. I had a pleasant stay and everything I needed. I was also upgraded from a queen to a king at no extra cost. I would return again if staying alone and just needed somewhere clean and basic to stay.

The hotel needs an upgrade, the walls are dirty and so are the doors. Although there is no smoking, we could smell the smoke if the person sitting outside smoking. As well, you have to get the desk person to inspect your room prior to leaving to get your deposit back...kind of odd and makes me wonder if the clientele who sleep there.

The property was clean enough and you have assigned parking which is fine. The room had been redone but there were these dead bugs on the floor and the air conditioner was old and loud and didn't work the best. Second night I was there I had no hot water in the room and no water pressure to shower. I had been at an event all day and it was hot and late and I was too tired to complain. Next day on check out I mentioned it and was not offered any compensation. Won't stay there again!!

It was close to McMaster which is about the only thing it has going for it. It feels like there are a lot if people living there and they dont really have rooms available - but will kick someone out for the night if an expedia booking comes up. I have no idea if this is true, but certainly the vibe it gives off.

To say this hotel is antiquated would be an understatement. The bathtub fixtures were barely attached to the wall and I had to play with it to get it to work. Everything was so old that it looked dirty, even if it wasn't. The desk chair looked like they found it in the garbage. How does Expedia associate itself with such a dump. I booked multiple rooms for my friends. I was humiliated!!!

The hotel was a bit old but clean. The staff was friendly but they do not allow pets and charged 25 extra a night for our cat. The beds are very VERY firm so if you like that this is the hotel for you. If you book through Expedia make sure to call ahead to make sure they got the reservation or check in is going to take extra time which sucks when you’ve been travelling all day. All in all decent hotel but damn those beds are firm.

I checked in after prepaying for a 2 night stay. I checked out after the first night, when I left to sleep elsewhere because the state of the room was THAT bad. I’d rather lose my money than be there. We’re talking sticky floors, visible dust and grime on heater, ac, lamps etc. Garbage under the bed, a flimsy lock on the door that barely worked, hairs in bedding and tiny black bugs under the mattress. Smelled like smoke inside lobby and rooms. It’s no wonder they’re so adamant about a no return policy- it’s disgusting.

The room was clean and comfortable for a short stay. I stayed at Haven Inn in Hamilton last Saturday for one night during a business trip, and overall it was worth it for the price and purpose of my visit.

The staff were helpful, and parking was convenient. The only downside was that the room felt a little cold. Other than that, it was a simple and practical place to stay for one night, especially for a business trip.

This is absolutely the most deplorable and disgusting hotel I have ever stepped foot in. Everything is broken, old, rusted, filthy, and completely unacceptable. No words can describe how unsuitable these conditions are for any human being to sleep in. I had to leave immediately after arriving because it was that bad.

I booked four nights through Expedia for a work trip and spent a significant amount of money, only to walk into horrible living conditions. The photos online look nothing like the actual room. The entire property felt neglected, dirty, and poorly maintained.

To make matters worse, the staff were extremely rude, dismissive, and unpleasant to deal with. The woman working nights was especially hostile and made an already terrible experience even worse. Instead of trying to help, they refused to provide any refund despite the unacceptable conditions. Unfortunately, Expedia also refused to issue a refund.

This was honestly one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a hotel. I strongly believe Expedia should remove this property from their website because it is completely misleading and unfit for guests. I will also be reporting this hotel to the health department and every appropriate authority responsible for allowing businesses like this to continue operating. (Attached Photos)

Great stay overall! Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I really appreciated the free on-site parking and reliable Wi-Fi. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with a mini fridge and microwave, which made things very convenient. The bed was super comfortable, and I had a great night’s sleep. The location is also a plus—close to walking trails and plenty of amenities. I would definitely stay here again!

Left after a couple hours and found a different hotel. Horrible experience. Staff acted like I was wrong to wonder why my room door didn’t lock. On the first night I found toenail clippings on my covers. My door was left unlocked by the cleaning staff twice. Afterwards I could not trust that my luggage was secure in the room. My dad’s room had damaged on the frame where the door had been kicked in previously.The shower was covered in mold around the sealant. There is also a strange smell in the hallway the whole time I was there. The doors are all very loose in their frames. Everytime someone opens or closes a door, all of the doors bang on their hinges. The staff was very condescending when I checked in as if I was wasting her time.

On the last night, there was an individual in the hallway at 11pm yelling on his phone and banging his door. The staff person on duty addressed the person but the individual continued to yell and slam his door claiming “I just worked 15 hours, I don’t want to be quiet.” 30 minutes later he was in the hallways again being disruptive, slamming doors and yelling. This happened again at 1am. Nothing was done. There was no answers at the front desk phone during the second or third incident.

Parking was “assigned” my first day but there were people who live at this location using it instead.

I would not recommend this hotel at all and regret spending the money for two rooms for the weekend. Was not worth the price.
