Unfortunately this location has gone downhill. There used to be a restaurant available next door, but it's since been boarded up. The motel itself is strange that the owner has chosen not to fix their key card system so staff have to let you in your room each time you return as you don't get a personal key card. Some of the pillows were quite lumpy and unusable -- glad we had brought our own. Blankets were thin, so I suggest bringing warm pjs despite it being summer time. At least the temperature in the room was cool for sleeping, just blankets were not warm enough for my preference. The continental breakfast was okay for children - mini muffins, oatmeal packets, apples, granola bars, otherwise there is coffee/cream/milk available.

There is almost no breakfast service - but this service was the reason for misleading to book the hotel. The photo shows the ALL of their breakfast at the early monring, and then even less.

The hotel shows no attempt to improve the service like this terrible breakfast but keeps lying through the fake advertisement over Expedia - Expedia should also take some responsibility as well.

I have fond memories of this place in the 90s.
The staff then was great and remains so today (despite any semblance of uniform being long gone.

Because of this, I gave some latitude when the front desk informed me that the key card machine was broken and had been for quite some time. That a staff member would need to key me into my room. Each time I left it for any reason. Oooooo-kaay

Ascending the staircase I noted old and heavy staining in the carpeting as well as pulled threads and duct tape holding it together. The hallways were dimly lit and full of unattended drywall repairs.

The staffer opened the room door and bid je a good night. The room lighting was extremely dim, even with them all on at once.

I went to grab a shower and found cigarette burns into the bathtub, grunge along the baseboards and the ceiling plaster was crumbling/peeling. The ceiling fan had clearly not been cleaned in any way for quite some time. \"Oooooo-kaay fine. I'll deal\" I thought to myself.

I sat on the bed and the leg promptly broke in half!!

As I looked around the room I found
-AC leaking on carpet
-wall damage
-Old coffee grinds around the sink
-window view of an unkept yard and broken hit tub packed with refuse

And I'm the lobby, a vending machine devoid of beverages
Super8 signage not maintained/peeling
Empty flag poles
Crumbling parking lot full of potholes

It's really too bad to see it so reglected. I checked out and spent the night driving home instead of resting. 1/10

Having flight issues, I arrived in Hamilton at a late hour and needed somewhere close to the airport. I found this forgotten property. I’ve stayed at many hotels, campgrounds in tents and alternate accommodations in my life and sadly this was without a doubt, the worst. Room stank, musty odor, carpet was not clean, curtains that didn’t cover the window, and a washroom with several black hairs on the tub, sink and vanity. The bed should’ve been replaced years ago. The mattress offered no support and just rolled you to the centre. When I checked for bedbugs, I noted a stained mattress cover. There was no security bar on the door and no keycard as their key code machine don’t work. I was told that if I left the room and wanted to return, I could prop the door open with the (missing) security bar, or have the receptionist let me back in. The property exterior and interior is in a serious need of a facelift.
What was good? The contintental breakfast was ok, mini muffins, oatmeal and fruit. The receptionist was also nice. And the air conditioner cooled the room.
I certainly do not recommend this property.
Finally, I took the waiting taxi from the airport to the hotel, about 5 minutes for which the driver argued $20 flat rate. The next morning the return taxi was $10. Beware.

When we arrived the outside was not welcoming, parking lot full of pot holes and the grass not cut, then upon check-in we were told that they couldn't give us a key card because their system is down, they let us in our room and the carpet didn't look vacuumed, the controls for the AC unit were covered in dirt/food, the box springs were brown and stained, the sheets and pillows were stained yellow, the bathroom had hair on the floor. We were more than disgusted. Had it not been so hot out we would have slept in our car. We didn't even eat breakfast as after the disgust from the room, I didn't feel safe eating there. For the price I paid for the room it was a disgrace and I felt horrible the fact that I had picked this place for myself, my husband and 2 kids to sleep in. If only I could get my money back or even part of it. This Place Needs Shut Down!

This was a (low-budget) option for 1 night. There were no room keys available, and the breakfast should (not) be called breakfast at all. (Breakfast) was the grab & go kind of breakfast with (mini muffins) & coffee, & not much else. We couldn't even get hot water, as the machine was not working. So this is not the place where you can sit and eat - so don't be fooled into paying the price thinking that you will get (breakfast).

The place needs a face lift, and overall it was a basic stay. The room was fairly clean, with no unwanted insects observed, but this place is way over-priced for what you get. We just needed (1) night, and it was ok for that duration.

Arrived after a twelve-hour drive to a poorly maintained, poorly equipped property. Dirty place, room key-card machine did not work (we were told that at check-in), so the desk clerk had to open our door every time we needed into the room, NO ice machine (clerk popped the only ice cube tray in the small freezer order to get us a little ice), no microwave or mini-fridge in the room. Over all, NOT GOOD. The workers were fine, but the facility was \"tired.\"

This was not the hotel portrayed in the Expedia ad, The outside was terrible as was the inside. The coffee maker didn't work, and the tv remote had a mind of it's own. The hydro went off at 6:30 am, so no air conditioning , or breakfast . The mattress and lamp shade, were terribly stained, so we slept on top of the bed, instead of in it. The carpet was stuck down with duct tape in areas, and the room had not been dusted in ages. If I do not get a full refund from Expedia I will never use them again, so I trust they will do the right thing and refund my money. Expedia should take this hotel off their recommended list of hotels to keep their reputation intact.

The first room had no heat and was disgusting. Second room had holes ripped in the curtains and cigarette burns on the bed spread. NOTHING LIKE IN THE EXPEDIA photos. Maybe they rent by the hour?! Room needed upgrading. Desk chair was all split. Wall heater was hard to read and missing knob control. There was zero heat in the bathroom and it was freezing. No key cards - front staff had to manually let us in to our rooms every time. Parking lot had pot holes but it was shoveled after snow around the cars. Definitely overpriced for the room. Only positives were friendly front desk staff and the breakfast was a surprise especially being available at 4 am.

This was probably the worst stay I have had at a hotel in many years. #1 They could not give me a key to my room. They escorted myself and family to my room opened the door and told me that if I leave I need to report to the front counter and they would let me back into my room. #2 The ceiling stucco was falling off of the ceiling and the drywall in the bathroom was rotting from being wet. #3 The carpets were absolutely disgusting with stains. and the room had a horrible smell. Finally the staff gave my entire family a bad feeling. We felt unwelcomed. The way the facility was taken care of. I had the sense that this Super 8 was not actually part of the portfolio anymore and the signs had not been taken down yet. I find it hard to believe that Super 8 would allow a facility to represent the name and brand in this state of repair.

Difficulty finding the hotel; we drove the length of Homestead twice. The place was in darkness & the Super 8 sign was not lit. I suggested it be turned on, but on Dec 9th when we returned, it was still off. The keys to the room don't work, so the desk clerk said he would have to let us in each time. No heat in rooms or hall or lobby; wall heater extremely loud, never warmed up; had to go to lobby to request more blankets. .Fake leather couch was totally peeled off. There is better furniture at the curb on garbage day. You should be ashamed to charge anyone to stay in those conditions..

Some less than rave reviews had me concerned, but the hotel is so close to Hamilton Airport that I chose it anyway. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was clean and warm. There were simple breakfast supplies even at 5:30 am. A friendly taxi driver took me to the airport in the snow at 6:15 am for only $15. Nothing fancy, and certainly furniture needs upgrading. But if you just want a quiet, comfortable night's sleep and save money, I recommend it!

I do not usually give bad reviews but this room was awful. It was freezing cold with no extra blankets. I had to wear clothes to bed to make up for that.
The runnings water with the shower head in the tub. Only showers apparently.

I had two very small bumpy pillows. And it’s smelled not so nice.

Breakfast was grab and go sugar… with an apple.
Sorry, one star from me is pretty bad as I’m quite nice…. Wow.

The room was horrible. We had to switch from the first room because it was obvious the sheets were not changed from the last guests. Then with the second room the furniture was old and worn out. Not leather left on the chairs - All cracked and worn off. You couldn't see the TV from the bed. Only if you were standing in the little kitchen. The place is a dive and confirmed by other guests as well. No key cards, apparently this has been an on ongoing issue for months. The rooms are a disaster, the toilets do not sit securely, the carpet is frayed, the heater either doesn't work or is intermittent, the handle came off the tap, the furniture is damaged, the mattresses need to be replaced, 2 flat pillows. The list goes on and breakfast is a farce. The patio doors do not lock properly. We should have been warned due to other past reviews. Other people are staying elsewhere either though this hotel is closest to the airport. With a reno this could be a good hotel.

What a horrible place

I dropped off my bags and didnt look closely during the day. I back at night. When I set down the bedsheets I discovered a matteress that was beat to death and should have been replaced long ago. The couch was ripped apart. I got in after dark and the outside lights didnt work. The driveway was a mess and in a horrible state. The WIFI didnt work and i suspect there were not plans to fix it.The hall carpets were filthy and stained. If I had another nearby option I would have left. I was afraid of getting bugs.

The staff was friendly and the hotel was close to the airport but there was dog hair on the bed linens. The vinyl covering on the couch was worn off. There was an unpleasant odour in the hallway which fortunately, didn’t permeate the room. There was a dog on the floor which barked. The entrance to the hotel from the road was poorly marked. There were no lights on the hotel sign. We weren’t sure it was even open when we arrived. My daughter wanted to leave. The continental breakfast consisted of granola bars, apples and mini muffins. The price for the room and the fact that it is pet friendly is fantastic. The staff ensured we were on the ground floor so that we had access to a patio door from inside our room, which made it much easier to get our puppy in and out.
There was a lack of linen in the room. We required to ask for towels, which was provided with no concerns, and only the linen on the bed was in the room. We didnt ask for more as we managed with what we had, so it is unknown if they have extras or not. The internet was down for the entirety of our stay, it would have been nice to have gotten some sort of discount as it is expected to have internet when you book. For whatever reason, our phone service inside the hotel was horrible, that could simply be our phone provider is not good in the area. However, the hotel could benefit from getting a tower to strengthen the signal. Overall, we would stay there again if we knew we werent spending much time in our room and for a maximum of 2 nights, anything longer, we'd more than likely book somewhere else.

There are many areas of improvement. The rooms and furniture is old, outdated, and in poor condition. Some of the towels were clean, but gray instead of clean white. There was a smell on the bed linens . Only few items for breakfast. The parking lot was in poor condition.
The staff was friendly thought.

Staff were good. Facility was not well maintained. Poorly cleaned and linens and towels stained. Insufficient towels and facecloth (yes, one). Shower head partially plugged. Bathroom sink loose in counter. Cigarette burns in bed covers. A/C not cold.
Abandoned restaurant next door, parking lot full of potholes and exterior signs taped up.
I really don’t like to complain, but too many smaller things add up to bad experiences
Not impressed that Wyndham puts their name on this. It should be inspected and brought up to their higher standard by them, so the owners can present a quality product.

No card key given as machine was broken. Staff had to let us in and out of room. Toilet would barely flush. No security lock inside our room, only the dead bolt. Missing slider in the window. 2” centipede hanging on the wall, entire building is very run down, inside and out. Would not recommend, specially for the price paid.
