Highly recommend!

People were fantastic, the bed was super comfortable, and the food at the restaurant was delicious! The only complaint is that it is far from most things and the dirt road at the end is pretty bumpy!

Remote hotel, quiet area of Moalboal

The hotel is in a remote location of Moalboal (about 15 minutes from the city center). A narrow, gravel road with many potholes connects the hotel with the main road (about 5 minutes drive). Note: There is nothing by the hotel at all. Tri-bikes are cheap to get to other areas of Moalboal if needed and most tour companies will pickup/drop-off at this hotel. The property is secure with gate access and a security guard.

The property of the hotel is a calm, quiet retreat if that's what you're looking for with hammocks to lounge in. There's a nice pool, that overlooks mangroves/water, but there is no usable "beach". To use wi-fi you must be in the lobby area, and during peak times (such as dinner) it was slow. The on-site restaurant did prepare good meals, but meal preparation takes some time depending on how many people are ordering at once. A major issue with the rooms is the water pressure (which may be an issue in the Moalboal area for other hotels as well).

The hotel staff did their best to accommodate to your needs and are friendly. They assisted us with booking a scuba/snorkel trip and a massage on-site.

The resort is very remote and access to town was limited and cost money. Which wouldn’t have really mattered except that the food was really awful. We received raw chicken more than once and most of the time the food was cold or not fully cooked.

no soap or shampoo in the room. you have to ask the front desk. Front desk persons will not even say hi nor hello. Aircon too small and very noisy for the room. took 4 hrs to barely cool the entire room. Shower pressure is very minimal.

Two days in Moal Boal

First off let me say that the staff was friendly and tried to be very helpful and accommodating where they could. In the 2 nights I stayed there I stayed in two different rooms. Both rooms were very clean but in the first room the ceiling fan was "in maintenance" (not working) and there was no hot water. We changed rooms and the 2nd room (which was also very clean) didn't have a means to keep the shower water from going into the rest of the bathroom. Consequently when we showered the entire floor got wet and the drain backed-up, we had to stand in a deep puddle of water to use the other parts of the bathroom. We told the management and they did unclog the drain. The resort is very far away from the town and the beach so transportation is required (the edge of the "beach" they are on is mangrove swamp and we didn't even attempt to swim in it). Still the resort is beautiful and a wonderful place for peace and quiet if you are there for meditation.

Peaceful hotel with lovely staff

All of the staff working here were so sweet and fabulous! We were able to rent a motorbike and they helped anyway they could. The setting is very serene.

It is to much away from everything, it got an own beach but this is full of stones, mangroves, small animals.
3 brownouts with not electricity and partly no water the whole day.
With electricity the A/C was too loud beside the bed and cooled only a little bit.

Roasters of the neighborhood start crying at 4AM.

Food and drinks in the restaurant are small and a little overpriced.

Nice place for a short stay.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and enjoyed our time here. I wouldn't advise a long stay though:

Positives:

Staff were very friendly
The pool was nice (it's a bit cloudy but I'm guessing this is from the high mineral levels I'm the water)
Food was very good and cheap. Especially seeing as there are no other restaurants (as far as we could tell) in walking distance, so they could have hiked their prices.
Free water was available

Negatives:

As this is very much the countryside the wifi was not good at all. It also wasn't available I'm the rooms.
The beach is actually a mangrove so don't expect to be sunbathing/swimming here
As the other reviews state the place feels tired and needs redecorating

Other advice:

If you are going to the waterfall just rent a scooter from them as it is reasonably priced (500php for us) for the day and the drive is very easy.

The white sand beach is close by but you have to go through 2 tolls to get there. So bring your change.

The fruit bowl at reception is not free and you will be charged for it on check out

could have been better. the staff were accommodating and went out of their way to address queries and concerns. resort may have been in good condition in the past but has deteriorated. pool wasn't so clear, road to resort unpaved, bathroom condition rather dilapidated, no hot water, no cable TV in room and no WiFi either. it's not along the beach it's Marsh land. it's cheap so conditions are cheap too.

Did not meet our expectations

We stayed for 2 nights, 4 rooms, 8 people, so my kids can go canyoneering in Moalboal. Staff was friendly and helpful. My rooms' air conditioning was not working half the time, filter was filthy, and they had to provide me with an electric fan to make the room temperature tolerable. The room is good size and clean though. My kids made a mistake of swimming in the pool that looks like the water has not been changed for a very long time, in fact you can't see the bottom of the pool at all. Can't swim in their "beach" either. View was nice though, and they have dogs and monkeys in the place. Location was difficult to find and not very accessible. Food was expensive with very small servings, chicken was served raw. Paid for a 500 peso massage for an hour but the experience was more agonizing than relaxing as they got a "masseuse" from outside that didn't have a clue on what she's doing :( Overall, would probably not come back to stay.

Beautiful location, good food, friendly staff

The hotel is about 15 mins from the port of Sabang, so it can be time consuming to go back and forth to town if you are diving or want to go out to dinner. The views are beautiful and the rooms are very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and the food is great.

They cancelled my booking without informing me

They cancelled my booking without telling me. The receptionist said they sent me an email, but I didn't get anything-- not from them or Hotels.com. Worse, because they were fully-booked, they can't book me into another room.

The receptionist was willing to refund me what I paid for the room, but the amount he quoted didn't include the service fees charged by this website. So I had to explain that if he gives me a refund, I won't be able to get the extra 400+ php this site charged on top of the accommodation. After a few minutes of negotiating, and the receptionist explaining things to his boss on the phone, they finally refunded me the whole amount I paid.

So I guess they still have decent customer service.

Great Stay

Of all the places I stayed in the Phillipines, this is one of my favorites! The staff are great! Room was great. Beautiful property! Allowed me and my wife to take a late night swim uninterrupted. Food was amazing and everything was affordable and not overpriced. Security was great. Gave me a safe feeling. Definately reccomend this place and look forward to going back!

A great place for relaxing. Highly recommend

We stayed in Moalboal Beach Resort for 7 nights and extended for 2 more nights -- I guess that says something on its own.

Nikolaus, the manager is a really nice easy going guy who will make you feel at home and is always going the extra mile to help you out with organising tours, diving, or what ever you want to do. The rest of the staff are very courteous and mild-mannered. Genuine smile and soft “good morning” etc. from the staff... no over commercialised chorus of “hello Ma'am, Sir”. The food is reasonably priced for a resort location and the quality was consistently very good. The breakfasts are excellent value with fresh juice & brewed coffee included.

The deluxe rooms are spacious, clean, and the beds are comfortable.

As for the location itself, the resort is not on a white sand beach but it is a tidal beach full of wildlife...even the rare Chinese Egret likes it there. It is a tranquil place quite a few minutes away from town (on motorbike) and was exactly what we needed to get away from the bustle of the city.

All-in-all, it is a great place for relaxing and is highly recommended. The only bad thing I can think of is that we were sad to leave.

Scenic, quite, secluded area but yet close to activities. Staff are very helpful. Nick the owner is very friendly and very accommodating. Food was excellent and good prices. My husband likes the Italian seafood pasta.

I picked my own shell (Aninikad in Filipino) and the staff cooked it for me. That was really nice.

Ruhige Lage, schöne Anlage

Wir übernachteten 7 Nächte im Deluxe-Zimmer. Die Anlage ist schön, der Service freundlich und hilfsbereit. An der Sauberkeit gibt es nichts auszusetzen. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig und entfernt vom Tourismus. Das Restaurant ist in Ordnung, bekommt jedoch nur 4 von 5 Sternen.

Llegamos al hotel y nos dieron una habitacion que no correspondía porque ya no tenian mas hab. Pedimos informacion sobre el centro de buceo y las empleadas de recepcion no tienen ninguna idea de nada, no teniamos toallas en la habitación y tuve que pedir constantemente papel higienico porque durante CUATRO DIAS ninguna empleada llimpió la habitacion una verguenza, el hotel esta practicamente abandonado en las manos de estas chicas que lo unico que hacen es cantar y hablar por tel. Cuando les preguntas algo te miran con cara de nose que pasa no entiendo nada. El hotel esta alejado de todo y no deberia llamarse resort, porque no llega ni a pensión y en este viaje eh estado en varias mucho mas LIMPIAS que moalboal beach resort

This hotel/resort needs improvements, first of all the ac made so loud noices that it was hard to sleep at night. We talked with the neighbors, and they had the same problem. They should also have a fridge in each room, so you do not have to walk all the way to reception/resto to get anything like cold water. No room cleaning during our stay. The place itself is nice, but remote, it is many kilometers from everything. We left one day earlier than planned, we needed a good night sleep. We do not recomend this place

Nice simple and quiet hotel

Nice hotel with simple rooms. No wifi, warm water or tv at the deluxe rooms. Restaurant is very good. Interaction with other guests was pleasant and with tricycle you can discover the beautiful nature of the environment. Ask for Arnold. This is a singing tricycle driver. With him you will have a lot of fun and he knows the places to go to.

Nice place but the hotel needs a manager to take care of everything. Employes nice but not very good at English. We stayed five days, but the rooms were only cleaned ones and only because we asked for it. The garden and the pool needed some cleaning. The food was okay, but small portions and too expensive.

가격 너무 저렴하고요~ 방 깨끗하고 에어컨 잘 나오고~ 무엇보다 리셉션 에 있는 사람들이 친절해요~ 단 하나, 조금 안쪽에 있는 리조트 라는거 빼고는 수영장도 있고, 바베큐에 재밌게 놀다가 왔어요. 거기에서 장 보고 거의다 밖에서 싸게 사다가 먹어도 되고, 저렴하고 편안하게 가실려면 추천합니다.

Leuk resort voor koppels en gezinnen

Moalboal Beach Resort is in handen van een Duitse eigenaar en zijn Fililijnse echtgenote. Het restaurant biedt een compacte menukaart van zowel Europese als Filipijnse gerechten. Op verzoek maakt men tevens andere gewenste gerechten ter uitbreiding op de menukaart. De kamers zowel de de luxe als de standaarduitvoering zijn voldoende gemeubileerd en volgens duitse nomen ingericht. De ligging is uitmate rustig en de aanwezigheid van zowel een kinder- als een dieper zwembad, maakt het verblijf ook aangenaam voor gezinnen. Voor koppels is het een romantische plek.
De watervoorziening kan te weinig caoaciteit hebben incidenteel door een te dunne aanvoerpijp. Daar wordt zeer binnenkort verbetering in verwacht. Maar geen nodd, watertekort is er niet, want dat wordt desnoods per tankauto aangevoerd.
Rustzoekers komen volledig aan hun trekken.

リゾート内でゆっくりと過ごしたい方には良いホテルです。

こちらのホテルはモアルボアルのビーチホテルが密集している地域からは遠く離れているので周りには外食の出来る店は一切ありません(未舗装の道を数キロ走ります)。よって半強制的に敷地内のレストランで食事を摂るしかなく食費が意外に高くつきます。食事の味は合格点なのですが物価の安いフィリピンでは高く感じます(日本と変わらないです)。
また、毎回バイクタクシーかトライセクルを利用して移動しなければならないので交通費もその度にかかります(毎回の値段交渉も面倒くさいです)。バイクの運転に慣れた方はレンタルバイクの利用がおすすめです。
ロケーションは、僻地ということもあって静かに滞在出来ることが最大の利点です。海辺のマングローブ地帯なので泳ぐには適さないです。ビーチリゾートと呼ぶには微妙です。残念ながら方角的に夕陽が見られません。
シャワーは日照を利用している為か昼間にしかお湯が出ません。冷蔵庫もありません。
レストラン近くに繋がれているサルはいたずら者なので要注意です。犬がたくさん飼われているので苦手な方は避けた方が良いかと思います。食事中に彼らに取り囲まれるので落ち着いて食べられません。
全体的な印象は西洋人好み。動物好きでリゾート内で移動せずにゆっくりと過ごしたい方におすすめしたい格安リゾートホテルといったところでしょうか。
