The hotel was very well kept, and the staff was very helpful throughout my solo trip to Montreal. The front desk gave great recommendations on things to do and how to get around. It’s not a fancy hotel, but it got the job done. Breakfast was simple with muffins, yogurt, coffee, and a few other items, but convenient before catching the uber for my morning flight. The location was better than I expected (I wasn’t yet familiar with the “right areas”) and was easy to get to Old Montreal, Downtown, Chinatown, and Plateau Mont-Royal by taking the Berri-UQAM metro station (about a couple blocks away) or just by walking. The area felt safe. I’d definitely stay here again on a future visit!

Great place for a short stay. Cleanliness in the bathroom was subpar, old pieces of paper were scattered under the sink. The sink and tub drain took ages to properly drain. Common areas arent clean, and the staircase was full of trash.

My stay at the Econo Lodge was great! Firstly, if you are considering staying here understand that it is a budget hotel on a street with many other budget hotels. Across the street is a parking garage that appears to be indefinitely under construction. I have read some other the other reviews and they are laughable. The street is not sketchy, the rooms are old, but they are clean. The staff that I dealt with were extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. This is not a 5 star hotel, it is a 5 star budget hotel!

The AC was not working. It's a centralized AC. Our room was really warm. We asked them to check but still no use. Like in the middle of the night they will send someone to checked the room. They provided fan which is way too noisy. We can't sleep comfortably. If you open the window, it won't help either cause it's also noisy outside. We stayed there for 4 nights. We asked for room service on the 2nd night to freshen up the room. When we got back from strolling the city, they just remove the garbage and provided new towels. The beddings is still the same cause the stains were still there. Pillow cases dirty with hairs. Floors still have food crumbs. And the location of the hotel, it doesn't seem safe to walk at night. They have free breakfast which is good. But the breakfast area needs attention on cleanliness. The drip trays for juice and coffee seems they never wash it. It's really gross.

The neighbourhood is a little rough, but I was pleasantly surprised by my stay. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean (although the carpets could use a refresh), and the location was fantastic. Walkable to many cool neighbourhoods and really close to transit.

I paid a total of $150 for a night. It's a very small hotel. The hallway with the rooms upstairs are so tight. There was no microwave in the room. Rooms are tight. For the price, I should have went to Holiday Inn. Breakfast was bread and bagel, only one toaster and microwave to be used by everybody in the hotel.

It’s an older hotel that is currently being renovated internally. The rooms are very well equipped and spacious, with a fridge, a comfortable bed, and a good bathroom, and there was no outside noise. However, we were uncomfortable with the air conditioning—it was very cold and a bit noisy, and there was no way to control it from the room. The parking is outdoors and there is almost never any space available, but there is a public parking lot across the street. I would stay here again; the services are in line with what you pay.

Even though they offered free cold breakfast, the room condition was poor. They had a fan available (No in room air-conditioning) which made it difficult to sleep. The walls seem like they were made out of thin paper since we could literally hear the people on the top floor entering their room and walking around. Thank God I brought a white noise machine to tune out all the noise. The staff at the front desk though was very nice but I cannot return to this hotel due to cleanliness and loud noise.

Hotel is in the slums, is run down and dirty- no idea how it has 8 stars on Expedia. Dark, old, rundown. Staff was fine but facilities were awful- so disappointing. Would have spent more to move to a different property. Abandoned building across the street, homeless people everywhere. Not somewhere you want to be after dark.

Staff so nice, will recommend where can we visit. Parking is opposite underground car park. Is not from hotel, can pay 10 hours or overnight. Breakfast with apple/orange/bread/ yogurt/water & coffee. But the only things I don't like is if you don't close the waskroom door. You will smell sewage all the time. And power cut off every night around 10 pm when we stay two nights. Just runs out couple minutes. But I don't expect it will happen in the hotel.

Stayed 2 nights in a 2 bedroom room (queen beds). Room was super small. Super thin walls and could hear vehicles, nextdoor room TV, hallway walking loudly. Floor was giving creaky sounds near the washroom. Something was up through the walls/pipes that was making loud noices. Hardly got any sleep. Washroom shower head was broken where only few jets of the showerhead was working. We complained at the front desk, but, the rsponse was they were fully booked. Breakfast was terrible, literally the worst breakfast we have ever had in similar hotels. I wouldn't ever stay nor recommend this hotel at all.

The staff was very friendly and even let us charge our phone by using theirs since we didn't bring any, my only complain would be that the room was cold, we found that the problem came from a gap that is located under the desk, there's was a lot of wind coming from the outside, so we had to put a towel to block the wind from coming in.

For what is worth, this place has everything you need and is conveniently located. Breakfast was pretty good as there was a bit of variety. Cleaniness can be improved as the hallway and room smelt funky (probably from the carpet). We had to crack open the window and leave the fan on for air to circulate the room, alleviating the smell. The location is a bit questionable but we still relatively felt safe and it was accessible to restaurants, the metro and bus lines nearby. Overall, it's a good place to stay for a few days.

It’s a fine hotel in Montreal, nothing stands out but nothing makes it a poor choice either. For the money, it would be hard to find anything better in the city. The breakfast selection and the room for it (which seats about 6 comfortably) could easily be upgraded to make this place stand out a bit more.

We had a good two-night stay at the Econo Lodge. It's a walkable neighbourhood near transit options and other attractions in Montreal. The hotel room was kept clean. Minimal amenities, but expected for a budget hotel option in the city. Staff were always kind and respectful.

Stayed one night for a concert. Neighbors above me were very loud until 1 AM. Carpet in the room was gross. Shower was okay, bed was comfy. Cold breakfast included which I found more than adequate. Despite noisy neighbors, I’d stay again if it was a short visit. Walking distance to MTELUS and lots of cool spots.

The place in itself is very clean and I would go back anytime. It's well located, near the main bus station and the metro. The staff is pleasat, and I also appreciated the breakfeast. However, as a woman traveling alone, I didn't feel totally safe to walk the neighbourhood at night.
