• Mold on the bathroom ceiling, which staff attributed to the age of the building — but that doesn’t excuse a health concern.
• Insufficient heating in the room, despite chilly weather.

Downside: Paying for a King Deluxe room for the fireplace and it wasn't working. As said, we called the reception and were told that it might be ''frozen'' ... 15 degrees celsius ??? This is a quaint and charming looking place in a beautiful town. The room was alright as far as cleanliness goes, although a little dated. The washroom however has not been maintained in quite some time. The paint was bubbling and falling off the ceilings and walls, the bathtub grout and caulking was full of mold and gaps. We had a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, but there was no way we’d have used it based on what we saw. The shower head had a constant leak and the whole room smelt musky and damp.

Continental breakfast or coffee not available until after 8am. Had booked for 2 nights left after first night. Stay away from this property!!

Staff was helpful when sundries, etc., were required. The Colonial is a little dated-looking and could obviously use a refreshing in many areas of the property, but the old-style, 60s-era family resort concept is actually a nice departure from the sealed up modern hotels we too often stay in. It was nice to sit in front of our room looking at the treed lot that surrounds the buildings and enjoy a beverage as evening fell. And the price was best in town for a room on the weekend we stayed.

Horrible. Had to leave to stay at the Hilton because it was that bad… nothing like the photos. So misleading. Horrible service. There was absolutely no way I could’ve slept there or showered there. Pee stains on the bed, bandaid left on the lampshade, broken floorboard heaters, not easily accessible, have to walk by people’s porches just to get to your room, front desk person wasn’t there when we arrived and was rude, not helpful, and also was staring at my breasts while I tried to speak to him about the horrible accommodations. Don’t waste your time or money like I did.

The bed in the room was sway back and and on the floor. Light bulbs were out and the shower water was warm at best. Way overpriced at 200 dollars US. They need to put some $ in this place if they want charge those rates.

He only stayed one night, but the property was quiet and clean. The sidewalks were a bit uneven and everything could use a fresh coat of paint. In the room seemed a bit dated. Also the coffee machine had to be moved to another area to plug-in because the only place to plug it in where it was situated was an extension cord, but the extension cord didn’t have a three prong plug just mildly inconvenient. Overall, a comfortable stay… Just not overly luxurious.

The entire property is run down. In serious need of repair and paint! Pool is peeling so bad and looks terrible. The property looks good from far, but its far from good! They should use some of the money they rake in, to fix the place up, just my opinion. I spent $390 to stay there for 2 nights, was NOT worth that money. Its also run by \"new canadians\", who obviously just want to rake in the money, but not put any back into the place. Its sad.

Didn't say where the room was or anything. He said since you are saying more than 2 days if you want your room cleaned to contact the desk in the morning. A couple days later I needed towels and the garbage taken. The staff were next door so I asked the guy. He said girl speaks English I not understand ask her, so I did. The lady gave me the items I needed.

I was so upset with my room. The ants were on everything. I set my water bottle down on the dresser for one minute and I had over 10 ants on it. There was a dead moth in the tub. The carpet was sticky. I would not take my shoes off. The shower curtain was brown on the bottom and it was a white shower curtain. The room had a not so nice smell to it. The breakfast is really nothing. My overall with the place is a 1 star. I will never go back.

This property looks so cute from the outside, and the location was ideal. It could have a lot of potential if the owners put some money into the place. The handle to our room was broken and barely hanging on, mold in the bathroom, smelly, outdated. The windows are very thin and easy to break; there are no real windows. A quiet place with free parking. The accommodations was far below our standards. The bathroom window was not clean. The entire bathroom need to be repainted and take out the molding. The room had a heavy smell. Maybe due to humidity from the ground carpet. The bed mattress was not comfortable. If you want the room to be serviced you have to ask for it. The rooms need to be upgraded. The location was pleasant and not far from downtown few minutes by car.

The property is decrepit which is a shame. If owners would invest a little in keeping the property up to some standard, it wouldn't be that bad because the property is really nice (or it was). The staff is helpful but the conditions of property is not that great. The bedrooms are cleaned just the minimum but if you look harder you see that they need a good spring cleaning. The flooring in our bedroom was peeling off which can be an hazard when walking. The breakfast is a joke, just sandwich bread and jam or peanut butter, muffins and yogurt. Some dry cereals too. We're not coming back.
