The lady at front desk (Jackie?) was very nice, fun and helped us in many ways. It’s an old building and that’s a part of experience. The only disappointment was the jet tab in our room. Probably not used much though looked clean, the hot water was brownish and a bit challenging to use it. Still we enjoyed our stay :)

Our room was clean and pretty, but no coffee maker, no fridge, and no TV. The floor was so far off level we were literally walking downhill to the bathroom. No continental breakfast, and the desk clerk wasn't sure when the restaurant opened on Sunday morning. Beautiful place, but not our thing.

We loved this place! The room was beautiful with a wonderful jet tub, comfortable bed and big windows towards the lake. Would have been nice to have a cappuccino option at breakfast since the coffee was pretty weak. The table top Skittles game in the lounge was great. We would stay here again!

We have stayed at this property many times and the property was clean and staff friendly as usual. We were disappointed that breakfast was not included as it always was in the past. That was always a draw to the property so have to weigh in future

The Bay View Inn is a lovely historic property with charming rooms, vintage decor and wonderful views of the bay. Sunsets are spectacular and there are amenities like free bikes to enjoy the nearby areas for walking and riding. The staff is friendly and committed to making your stay enjoyable. We appreciated the complimentary Happy Hour from 4-6 and the breakfast menu offered. Location is fantastic for exploring the vibrant communities of Petosky, Bay View, Harbor Springs and Charlevoix. It’s only 36 minutes from the ferry to Mackinac Island as well. We’ll be back for sure!

We enjoyed our first stay at Bay View Inn. Even though it’s an older hotel it was exactly what we were looking for. The staff were friendly and helpful. And the complimentary beer and snack hour was just perfect before going out to dinner. We would definitely stay here again.

While I was there inquired about the murder mystery dinner and she took me around to see all of the room choices so I could pick a special room for our 30th anniversary. We have always liked the Bay View Inn for it's uniqueness and quaintness.. What we did not like is the "peak pricing" sliding scale. We know its a small, boutique hotel, but to go from $129 to $172 in 2 days.. that's a 33% increase. I could understand if we were in a major metro area over a holiday.. but this was just a regular weekend, and not in a 5 star hotel. Sad, what the industry has (corporately) come to!

There were many positives for a stay at Bay View Inn. A charming independent inn was perfect for our ski weekend with easy access to the local ski venues and Petoskey for great dining options. We appreciated the filtered water for our water bottles along with hot chocolate after a day of skiing. Breakfast was great to start our day.

We loved the charming hotel, gorgeous views of Little Traverse Bay and courteous staff. Renovations have made this historic landmark quite comfortable. We were able to easily ride our bikes into Petosky and to the State Park. Our room (which faced highway 31) was a bit noisier than expected.

Do not get sucked into having brunch there. They fail to tell you how much it costs. It is not worth the price. $90 for 2 coffees and 2 brunch. $90 for breakfast?!?!?! Never again!

Every day from 4-5 they have a cocktail hour, which you get to socialize with the other guests. We enjoyed a breakfast the one morning and the food perfect. Our room was perfect and we received 2 cookies daily, which made our stay even more special. Cookies and coffee! I would definitely book another stay at this property. Hotel was quaint but definitely worn out (rugs, elevator, etc.) Staff was very friendly. Room was clean and quiet (except when it was raining -very noisy)! Dinner was average quality. Grounds were nice.

The hotel was nowhere near full and they put me in a room right next to a European style very noisy elevator with a door that slammed and a cage that rattled. Lucky me. The restaurant was closed for dinner. They told me there would be water bottles in my room and there were none.

Lovely area for cocktail hour with bright windows. Outdoor porch has water view. Since it was our first time here, I should have been more particular about our room choice. Our room did not match picture and was quite small. Shower stall quite tiny. Noise from road was loud. These things could have been avoided with better planning on our part. Other options might have met our needs better.
