We really enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for many activities in Northern Michigan. Our stay was quiet and relaxing in such a beautiful desolate location. The newly renovated wing was beautiful and the resort thought of many great things. The only thing we wished to change was all the walking to go back and forth because our room was so far on the other end of the hotel. The water bottle station by the pool and then ice machines near were fabulous and all hotels should invest in such. Only thing I could think to change is to have a mini fridge in the room vs. the wine fridge.

I love this resort!!! The staff by the ski cage are so wonderful!!! They are always so warm and friendly!! Our room was great, and we were so lucky to get a beautiful blue bird day!! I was able to get all the lift tickets in the lobby which saved me a hike. The food was great at the main lodge for breakfast. We enjoyed Slopeside, and the pizza delivered to our room was a treat. We all loved the hot tub and pool! My kids were there for hours!! Great vibe all around!! This is our 2nd year staying at The Highlands. We will be back next year!

EVERYONE, and I mean everyone, on the staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. From check-in, to check-out we did not see a single person who wasn’t smiling ear to ear. The room was beautiful and spacious with a comfortable bed and lush robes to use for the hot tub/pool. The pool is bath water warm and the hot tub is perfectly hot to make the cold weather blues melt away. We could not be more elated with our stay. Thank you to the entire staff for making our holiday so special!

The condo was perfect except for the heat situation. It was not controllable so we actually slept with the doors open despite the fact that it was freezing out. Restaurant was good. People were super nice. Grounds were beautiful. Location was perfect for touring the area and shopping.

Liked that it was a spacious room and a good cleaning service. Not many restaurants, not much entertainment for kids specially on this long MLK week end. I truly expected a bit more for the excessive amount it costs. Practical to be in the hotel but no Waw effect at all . Left early and realized that on such a busy week end they did not shovel the heavy snow from the entrance early on... it was a strange feeling... It was just practical for us .Teenagers skied at nubsnob but the little one skied at the highlands.

I was so happy with my families stay at “The Highlands at Harbor Springs!” Check in was warm and welcoming. Staff came to my car to unload ski boots and bags. Our room was beautiful!! A separate sitting area. It was snowing while we were leaving and the staff was getting the snow off of my car while I was packing the car. Very impressive service!!! My biggest complaint was at the price I paid, you would think there would be complimentary coffee. I only had an expresso maker in my room - not even a Keurig. Also, the room was newly renovated, it was too \"dark\" for my liking. It was new and clean but dreary. Lastly, they had nice comfortable chairs but they did not face tv. Poor choice of layout in my oponion.

Long weekend trip up north
Decided the day before to look for a place to stay near Harbor Springs to escape the heat down south and spend time bike riding up north. I had stayed at the Highlands 25 years ago for a ski trip so when it came up and was reasonably priced I decided to try it. We were happy with the room and the pools to spend time by. Lots of neat activities geared towards kids (movies on the lawn, smores). Was not very busy which made it extra quiet and relaxing. We did not do the downhill cross country but that was obviously very popular. We only ate at the pizza place one night and it was good, so I cannot speak to the other restaurants on site (BTW, highly recommend State Provisiions for Sunday breakfast). We would stay again.

Always a great stay, very family focused/friendly with a daily (almost hourly) activity offering. We’ve been at the pool when they randomly show up with berries and ice cream for all the kids, or we were pleasantly surprised to find a family fest during our last stay with face painting, balloon animals, and themed treats for all the kids. That being said there are some needed updates around the property. They do have a plan for renovation that is ongoing. The rooms have been updated BEAUTIFULLY and feel like such a value-just be prepared for some really dated spots as well. Love staying here and will be back!

Loved the amenities including heated year around pool with hot tub, ski lift with mountain biking or hiking in the fall, restaurant on site, complimentary fire with s’mores, and even an option for horse riding. The property is vast. We booked the most price effective room and stayed in a 90’s decor room that badly needed updating. Enjoyed the deck, not a fan of the view over the parking lot. However, appreciated all the amenities and what felt like a historic Time Capsule. If we had spent a bit more on a room I’m sure I’d have better reviews for the state of the room. Most have fireplaces, ours did not. Staff were friendly and seem to actually enjoy their jobs. Would love to come back for a color tour again if affordable. ❤️

We asked for our room to be cleaned. When the came we were trying to get ready for a wedding we were heading to. We said we would be out in 30 minutes and they said they would come back. When we came back at 11:30 pm I expected the room to be clean and I was disappointed that they never returned to clean the room.

Beautiful property! We stayed a couple of nights with our 2 kids, 10 & 13. Everything was clean and beautiful. Property appeared to be undergoing updates but there was no affect on our stay at all. Room was renovated recently and very nice. The only downfall was the balcony was more or a Juliette balcony and not one you can sit on. Also, the sky chair lift, Segways and zip line we're not open for our M-W stay. Breakfast buffet was a bit pricey with no discount for kids noted. It would be nice for the cafe to offer more quick grab and go breakfast items.

Very disappointed in the $36 an hour tubing facility, it was completely ice, no maintenance and had rubber mats and burlap out on the 3 runs that were open . It was so bad you could only ride the tubes down by sitting in them.

I have stayed in the condo type unit three times, and their service is always wonderful. The hotel is located right next to the ski area and is very convenient. Ventilation of the building is bad though. Often the whole building smells of someone's dinner.
