Second time I have stay overnight at the Wheatacre White Lion. Room is comfortable and clean. Food at the pub was very nice, staff helpful.
Would be nice to have a bottle of water in the room.

A last minute event meant the we needed somewhere to stay so we decided to treat ourselves to Dinner Bed & Breakfast at the White Lion. It was a bit busy when we arrived but the staff were welcoming though we only go directions to our room as the lad needed to get back to the bar. The room was lovely, generally well appointed. We met my sister in law and her husband for dinner and the food was tea good, nicely presented and delicious too. A great seasonal menu, too full to have dessert. The bed was very comfortable though the pillows weren’t my favourite sort. Breakfast next morning was excellent, the really know how to poach an egg. I’d certainly recommend it for a little treat.

We were staying for a wedding nearby. We arrived Friday eve. Our roo m was claen , warm and comfortable.

Plenty of milk for tea and coffee. Good quality towels. We had dinner in the pub. Gorgeous. Fire was on and a few local dog walkers popped in. Graet food quality. Following morning we had breakfast - chef was Martin. So friendly and chatty. We were only breakfast party, so fely very bespoke. Great breakfast - quality bread and quality service. A little gem. Highly recommended. :)

The food was excellent although the breakfast should be included in the price. The notice on pub wall states bed and breakfast. I had to pay extra. The staff were helpful and courteous, bathroom excellent, bed etc. most comfortable. The actual room needs updating and decorating. Unfortunate part was having to exit pub and walk round back of building to access rooms after mounting 15 steps, and back again to the restaurant.
I would give total experience 6-7 out of 10. If in the area
would probably stay there again.

Wouldn't return.

Staff were very friendly, really nice but it was do busy being a warm bank holiday.
No towels in the room which wasn't as problem as they just gave them to us when we asked. It wasnt until we got ready for bed the bin was full of used sanitary towels, it made me wonder how well the room had been cleaned after the last stay. Stairs up to the room really grubby, past the kitchen and staff area. Felt like that area needed some tlc.

Pleasant country location

Arrived a little early for checking in but it waan issue. Very pleasant staff member checked us in. Spacious room with a fan and nice modern shower bathroom. Amenity tray provided. Kettle does have a short length lead which just about reaches the power socket. Ate in restaurant very nice meals provided. Would consider using this place again if back in the area.

Good reception, we were expected and shown to our room.

Quiet location, very isolated but a very popular venue, well attended.

Restaurant food is excellent and the English breakfast was superb.

Our room was directly over the bar and it’s quite noisy which didn’t bother us particularly as it quietens down after closing. The walls are quite thin so you can hear guests in other rooms.

The toilet seat was broken, which we reported and the shower took a long time to empty. We reported both when we left. The wc takes ages to refill.

A few cobwebs on the ceiling but overall clean and comfortable.

Nothing to stop us staying again.

Very attractive gastro pub off the beaten track.
Excellent food and range of drinks. I was fortunate the weather was glorious so an evening in the beer garden was appreciated.
The room was a good size if only a little dated. The large sash window offered little in sound proofing but had the most glorious view across a field of sunflowers.
Breakfast was ordered and freshly served in the main dining hall. You could tell the produce was fresh and locally sourced. Very appetising.
In all a very enjoyable evening and overnight stay.
The location is quiet and off the beaten track which was perfect for my needs.

Peace and quiet and lovely countryside

Lovely location, kind staff, clean and tidy room that had a really comfy bed. My favourite park was waking up to the sound of only wood pigeons and a little light coming through the window, dreamy. Thanks for waiting up for my later arrival whoever the lovely staff member was. I didn’t get breakfast but it smelt delicious and judging by the the chefs outfits even at 8am and all of them saying ‘yes chef’ after every sentence it was probably delicious. I’ll be back.

Great place to stay

Stayed for one night on business and had a very pleasant stay. The staff was very friendly with excellent food and drink. The room a very good standard and very clean.

The only down points was no where in room to hand clothes or shelf for towels in the bathroom. Also if travelling on business please be aware they do not start breakfast until 8.30am.

Sorry if this sounds a bit negative, but feel business users need to know this and I would defiantly stay again.

Peaceful 2 nights

The room was clean , well furnished and peaceful. We slept well and enjoyed being on site to eat and drink at the restaurant. The selection of real ale is good and well kept, the food menu is wide enough with selections for most tastes and diets. Breakfast was 10/10. Thank you for a lovely break.

Nice comfortable bed, good shower, meal not cheap but were very nice the portion was abit large. The room we stayed in we had to keep the window open due to it being hot and once in a while we heard the fridge fan starting up that kept me awake. As we were above the kitchen.

This B & B is located in a pub in the country, outside the village of Beccles. The pub itself is closed on Monday, so we had to \"arrange\" our check in time with the staff and be in contact them to let them know when we'd be checking in - not ideal, but no great hardship, either. We were the only patrons in the place for the first night and it was soooo lovely! Even when the pub WAS open, our stay was peaceful, restful and ideal!

Wonderful place

We had a lovely room with en-suit bathroom & king size bed. We both slept really well and were given a wonderful breakfast the next morning. Our hosts were very friendly & happy to chat with us. We are so glad that this came up as an option in our search it really is a little gem

OK but poor night's sleep

Nice evening meal, room quite comfortable, with small shower/wc attached. Poor night's sleep (with many banging doors) but mainly because our room was directly above the bar and it didn't close until 1am. Breakfast was OK, but no menu!

We stayed 2 nights as we went to a wedding nearby.
We had a meal on the Friday night and breakfast Saturday morning and both were delicious.
The service from all the staff was great and the manager worked non stop the whole time.
Would highly recommend if your in the area.
