The room is small and our view was a wall. It was also noisy, and the groundfloor was dark and creepy, reminded me of the hotel in the film 'The Shining'.

We wont be back

The pictures on here and other sites are very misleading. They date back to when the hotel was owned by other people that actually lived there and took care of the place. Now, the place is deserted with no staff on site. the code to the hotel is emailed 7 hours before you arrive and also the code to the bedroom assigned to you. We had an issue where one code to the room didnt work. Two phone calls later and a visit from a local technician we eventually got into out rooms. Our first room seemed decent, two single beds pushed together and no room to swing a cat. The toilet smelled, the room was hot and we couldnt turn the radiator off. Apart from some cobwebs dangling from the ceiling it was okay. Our second room however was horrible. Down a dark corridor which was so narrow both my shoulders touched the walls. The room was at the back, two single beds again. The toilet door wouldnt shut, it was actually deteched from the hinge at the bottom. It was only later when i needed to go to the loo before bed that i realised the toilet floor was soaking wet, it seems the radiator was leaking and judging by the smell for some time. The drawers encroached on the exit so needed to make sure you didnt catch your hip on the way out. The ceilings were dirty with so many cobwebs, this hasnt been cleaned properly for some time. Having said this the bed was comfortable. Would love to have stayed here some years back when it looked a lovely hotel. You get what you pay for I suppose.

I didnt like nothing do not go by the pictures online!!!! Id rather stay in a guantanamo bay. The bedding was unclean. The smell was worse then sewage. The carpet was like walking in paint. Windows wouldn't shut and the shower didnt run hot water. There was takeaway rubbish in the cupboard and the whole place made me feel sick that me and the misses ended up leaving to go travel lodge

We arrived at the hotel, as a family of 4 & there was a leak in the bathroom brown rusty water across the floor coming from boiler cupboard, went down to reception, was greeted by a gentleman, explained the problem & was immediately offered another hotel (sister) nearby with 2 separate rooms we had no problems with this so all was resolved, great service 👍

Don’t stay here!

The hotel did not send me a email until we got into the hotel. There was a man there calling and that is the only way we go into the place and a code for our room. No one around. There was no light bulb over the sink. The wifi was almost not existent . We travel with out a phone and depend on wifi.
I can’t even give this place one star🙁

Nightmare hotel wont be back

The place was very outdated and nobody was on sight the whole 4 days i stayed. Room was never cleaned and i had to go out and buy some tea bags and milk to make a cup of tea. There was no plug for the sink no coat hangers and although it said iron and board were available nobody there to get them. Most definitely wouldnt recommended this place to anyone

The Hotel looks nothing like the pictures on the website. On Arrival bedside light not working contacted management who then arrived on site ,found the plug socket was broken assured me that someone would be there to fix it the next day .It was not fixed in the time we stayed there.
On the Friday night in the night there was a \"thump\" on our door ,I dressed and opened the door and a woman who was totally drunk fell into our room.I manage to hold the door so that she did not fall in completely. The man she was with was in the same state.. for the rest of the night till around 3 in the morning the noise of people coming in and out of the hotel regularly kept us awake.. My wife and I felt rather insecure.. This hotel has no receptionist on duty, The hotel is shabby ,wallpaper peeling off the wall up a corner at the bottom of the staiirs... We left a week early as the experience ruined our holiday... no refund from the hotel was forthcoming for the unused week... bearing in mind our experience I would not recommend this establishment

Rotten Ancient Hotel

Photos on website is so deceiving. Shockingly filthy, unhealthy state from the front of the hotel to our room. Steep creaking stairs, stinking dusty old rug from entrance all the way up to our room. It triggered my son's asthma. Only stayed there overnight but this is unacceptable. Camping is way better than this. IT SHOULD NOT BE A HOTEL AT ALL.

No hot water in room 7.
Toilet made the loudest of noise and did not flush properly.

Do not stay here!!!

Weather was amazing but room was crap was promised air con and only got a fan windows didn’t open, was hot and stuffy
Fan had about 1000 layers of dust and sent me into a heyfever attack, was a cheap hotel but the state of the hotel it should really be shutdown,
No receptionist
No food
No breakfast
No daily cleaning
No staff at all
The electric locks are a pain and don’t work half the time,
Windows where all sealed shirt and couldn’t open
Bathroom was disgusting and not clean shower pressure was good but shower head wasn’t on properly, if i could claim a refund i deffinay would,
Worst hotel i have ever stayed in by miles,
Didn’t even have any cutlery to eat, never going back,
I want a refund to be honest.

There was no loo roll tv was broken toilet seat was loose bin was full of rubbish. Left very esrly this morning as got no sleep as people in room next to us were up all night had people coming and going through the night till early hours and we had them knocking on our door at stupid oclock but they got the wrong room so not a nice stay at all

I got there it is a self check in i didnt know so was hanging roundvringing the number with no reply for 30min it stated there was a 32in tv in room it was about a 16in if that the shower room has carpeted so there was a funky smell could not recommend this hotel 🙁

When arrived I received a email stating you can get a parking permit from any news agent for 3 pound this is untrue you can’t any where so first had problems with that then the room which they gave us smelt bad really unclean had a fake eye lash on the window Seal couldn’t put no clothes away as so dirty no tea and coffee Facilities I complained they moved us but new room had no coffee or milk walls had stains on them

Stay away and save your money!!!!

You start with no one at reception so you call the number on the desk to get no answer. We booked a double room ended up with a 3/4 bed no handle on toilet door cold tap on the sink spins round completely the heater didn’t work in the toilet/ shower cubicle ( I wouldn’t say room ) some of the lights were not working the room itself was generally dirty. All in all it looks nothing like the photos on the internet. Appalling really I will not be going back even if if was FREE and will never recommend this place to anyone. Regards David

I didn’t receive an email with details on how to access the hotel until I arrived and had to call them. No one was in reception to help. Once in, I had to go and find an off licence to purchase a parking permit however they said they didn’t have any and that they rarely did! I’d need to find somewhere else to park! Ended up having to leave my car somewhere on a back street.
The flow of the hot water tap in the bath was ridiculously slow and must have take 45 minutes to fill. The kettle had a terrible odour and there were no towels or milk with the tea making facilities.
Hotel worker did bring towels, milk and a new kettle after I text but was still very frustrating!
Room was ok and bed comfy.

Not happy frist hotel had no heating in it was cold then we had check like 5 rooms they were a cold and then we had to move to villerose then wasn't happy with that either one room was leaking from walls and made bed wet then we had to get someone out change rooms then room we was in there was no light working and sick was loose so we not happy with place at all we like refund stressful week when we come and then issues with cleaning bedrooms to so we not happy at all

A rather traumatic experience

On check in wasn't most warm of welcome. Family room on top floor was clean but very dated. After checkin went out.
Returned to room in evening to find the room full of smoke and carpet smouldering. Someone had been in room while out and put a electric heater in there with no legs on so it was directly on carpet. Was lucky we got back when did amd worringly no smoke alarm had gone off!On calling the contact number we received little help.heater had been put in there as heating had stopped working .had to stay the night in room, had to undo all windows to clear smoke and personally remove electric heater make sure had cooled down completely and safe, so all went to bed in cold room stinking of smoke with my to sons aged 2 and 5. just to top it off the fire alarm decided to go off at 4am, 7 hours later .which was huge worry do to previous problems overall very disappointing and wouldn't never go back

Inadequate parking.

There was no face to face contact. They are entitled to give out 24 hour parking passes but refuse to. Therefore you have to buy one from the nearby off-license. Unfortunately these do not cover between 8-9am and 4-6pm, so you have park elsewhere during these times.

Shocking service, dirty room, broken windows. Arrived having booked two rooms with children only to arrive to nobody on reception and not answering the bell or phone numbers. After around 45 minutes someone arrived only to sit down and persist he doesn’t speak English. Then after another 30 minutes I finally got through to the “manager” to be told one of the rooms was cancelled as it wasn’t fit to stay in with no notice at all and the one room we did get was disgusting. Near impossible to get through to speak to a person instead of a virtual assistant.

A poor hotel dog not go

There was no parking although the web site said I could get a voucher from the local shop - the voucher was valid top to 16:00 and for parking started at 18:00 - so I would have to move for 2 hours. Luckily the hotel next door sold me a 24 hour voucher. The tv only showed 1/2 the picture see below but as there was nobody onsite at the hotel I gave up - a very poor yired looking hotel

Trying to get in touch with the hotel is very difficult. The booking ref from hotels.com is not the same as the oyo ref. Eventually found a ref by trying to send a message to them. The ref was in a message on their app. Rubbish!!! Its all virtual assistants and off shore call centres.

A very basic stay

I wasn't expecting much for my money (it was good value, especially considering the location) but I was still let down.

If all you want is a room that you're only going to use to sleep this should be fine for you - as long as you enjoy hard beds with non-existent pillows. We had one pillow each, and mine was about 95% air; I even tried folding it in half to double it up and it still couldn't support my head. In the end I used the cushion instead.

We had a double room and it was very compact. If I had to guess I'd say it was previously part of another room that had been partitioned to create another. The bathroom also suffered from this - if you're a larger person you may struggle!

Our bedroom door felt very heavy suggesting that the closer wasn't set up correctly, but also it occasionally didn't close properly - the first night our room was unlocked! But I didn't worry because, although the rooms are described as 'sound proofed,' I could hear literally every single thing that happened outside, including: everyone walking past our room, cars driving past, full conversations in the next room, etc.

Speaking of the listing don't expect a rainfall shower, 32 inch TV, or mini golf on site. I guess you could generously describe the shower as like rain, and the TV was perhaps 32 inches around.

Finally there's no staff on site - it's all run remotely (even the locks are electronic) so bear that in mind.

All in all it's fine, but if you can I'd stay anywhere else!

Stay was awful no tv working no internet available even though these were advertised as available. No manager on site always at his other hotel .was told internet would be fixed on day 1 day3 still not fixed.no personal touch in this hotel access through door touch pad which didn't work very well n walls do thin you could have conversation with people in next room if you wanted

I was reluctant once I had seen the reviews for this place but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. We paid £85 for a 2 night break and to be honest, you get what you pay for. It’s cheap, the hotel room was clean, bed was made each morning for us, replacement towels. Refilled the tea and coffee each morning. Only small issue was the thinness of the walls so you can hear everything even your neighbours flushing their toilets but this didn’t affect our stay. Don’t let the awful reviews put you off.

Not a good idea

Not very good at all to be honest.
No one around at check-in waited ages (in the end had to track down a cleaner to find our keys)
Horrible damp smell throughout the building,
Room was terrible torn curtains, broken light hanging of the wall, toilet door busted, shower not working properly,
and lots of other issues not worth going into.

There was no one at reception when we got there, none of the lights would turn on, it was that dirty that I spent another £80 on another hotel, I spent £90 at this hotel and would have liked to have received some money back, I wouldn’t recommend.
