When I booked the hotel, one of the main reasons was the swimming pool. However, when we checked in, we were told it is seasonal. This information should be clearly stated at the time of booking.

My daughter was very disappointed because we specifically chose this hotel for the pool. Luckily, there was a leisure centre nearby, but that’s not the point. If you advertise your hotel as having a swimming pool, it shouldn’t matter whether it’s summer or winter — the availability needs to be made clear before guests book.

Other than that, everything else was fine. The view was great and the staff were friendly and Wellcome.

Staff and the quality (and quantity) of food absolutely fantastic. Location of hotel perfect too. Swimming pool well sized and a reasonable temp for two learners - a nice bonus. Room comfortable but a little tired. Overall a lovely stay and we would return.

Second year in a row, we've stayed at palm court hotel. Loved the room. Had everything i needed also, we had breakfast this year, which was excellent. The staff were very friendly as usual. Excellent parking, which is a huge bonus. Definitely going back next year.

We have booked with including breakfast on Expedia.When we arrived at the property they said our reservation was without breakfast The receptionist said it was a common error on Expedia online page that although you add breakfast as a thickbox the price does not change.You can remove that thickbox to prevent confusion if breakfast is not included in the price.Moreover it was stated on page that additional bed is available to add if requested.We asked for it and the hotel informed us that only baby beds were available to add because of fire precautions.I think this should be stated in the online booking site of the hotel as well.

Staff were nice especially the lady at the reception was very friendly. We really enjoyed it at the pool but found the family room quite small and outdated. Bathroom was nice and clean but it’s a shame I can’t say the same thing about the room. However it was a last minute thing and we really enjoyed our stay.

Not as good as it looks

Rather tired decor and uncomfortable bar arrangement.
Over priced food and facilities. Found most people ate else where. Very poor insulated rooms which meant heard alot of external noise. Parking an issue at the hotel but there is an over flow car park down the road but if you can't walk far may be an issue. Staff great. Bedroom tired and smaller than expected over looking back of football stadium.

You must experience

Amazing hotel, on the beach front not far from all entertainment and other holiday amusement. Hotel had polite and friendly staff, pool was clean, warm and relaxing, managed to get a car parking space as limited, room was as requested on ground floor, a bit small but had comfy bed, room cleaned daily, we didnt try food due to dietary needs, but looked amazing, all cooked fresh.

Very friendly and helpful staff.
Room was good.Comfy bed.
Bad point was there is no grab handle to hold onto when stepping in and out of the bath. The bath was set into a frame work which made it wide to step over.I had to lean over and hold onto the sink.
An accident waiting to happen. Impossible for anyone with mobility issues to use the shower.
We had one breakfast, which was lovely and used quality ingredients if a tad expensive at £13 each

The reception was lovely. The lady at the front desk was very welcoming and friendly. The room was not as described on the website. Our room backed onto a football pitch and the flood lights shine directly into the room. The room itself wasn’t thoroughly cleaned. Under the desk on the floor was old chewing gum, along the top of the wardrobe was thick dust. The bathroom was clean but the handle for the bath was very rusty. Our bedroom window was filthy full of handprints and smears as well as seagull mess.
Overall, i don’t think the hotel is worth the money, it needs updating decorating wise and better cleaning. There is onsite parking as long as you can get a space as there’s not many for a hotel of this size.

Disabled clients beware

I am disabled and informed the hotel of my mobility difficulties, prior to my stay. I was told if I needed a soft pillow or a mattress topper I should bring my own, there are no designated parking spaces, for disabled guests and I was told if I needed to park in the overflow car park, it was only a short walk! Try a short walk with arthritis in your joints and spine! I was given a room that required me climbing 6 stairs! When I asked to be put somewhere more suitable, I was told they didn't have any other room, so basically take it or leave it. That was the receptionist Nicki's attitude, she didn't welcome us or provide details of booking for breakfast or any information regarding the facilities. I have to say, had I not been so tired, I would have tried to find somewhere else to stay. The other staff, however were very nice and one young lady even carried my walker up the 6 stairs to my room for me. I fell in the bath as there were no handrails, on the wall only on the side of the bath, however I was so desperate to bathe, as the shower was far too hot, I tried to use the bath, what a mistake. There was mould around the silicone around the bath tub. The bed was uncomfortable, even with my own mattress topper. I found sweet wrappers beside the bed, that weren't ours. There was a strange smell in the hotel, which was very unpleasant, and guest have to go through the dining room to leave, which is unpleasant for those dining.

Staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean. Shower gel and soap supplied in the room. Ample parking. Loved the swimming pool. Didn’t get time to use the sauna but hopefully we will return and can use it then. Excellent location opposite the beach and only about 10-15 minutes to walk into town. Perfect.

Close to all attractions, but far enough to have a peace and quiet environment to rest. Friendly staff.
Free parking. Clean rooms and good breakfast. Swimming pool was a bonus for families with children. Just pefect for weekend away.

Other than the friendly staff and good food quality there is nothing positive about this hotel.
The room was dated, smelled of body odour and no air on or even a fan. There were no amenities. Not even soap in the bathroom, let alone any shampoo. The shower water flow was nothing more than a trickle.
There is nothing that would make me return to this hotel and I certainly wouldn’t recommend it to friends or family.

The staff were very helpful. Our double room was very small but adequate for sleeping in. The bathroom was clean and fresh towels every day. We did find the hotel very noisy. Lots of doors banging. People shouting and the seagulls screeching on a morning which was out of the hotels control.

The room was very nice and comfortable with a beautiful corner bay window with seating and a sea view. It was lovely to sit there in the mornings with a cup of tea.
We made use of the heated indoor swimming pool and discovered a games room and sauna too!
All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
The only negative, if i had to find one, was the breakfast portions were very small for the price. Although very tasty and good quality, not enough.
Would definitely stay here again.

Very nice and no complaints. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was the cooked breakfast this morning. The veggie sausage seemed cold in the middle, and the mushrooms still had the outer layer of skin on which made them seem tough to eat. The tomatoes seemed dry as if they had been standing for a while. Still, I enjoyed the hash browns and the baked beans. All other breakfasts on previous days had been fine. I did not feel like raising the issue this morning, so am glad of the opportunity to voice this now. We would stay at the hotel again in the future though.

The hotel invites you in with a bright and modern bar area, that unfortunately is where modern stops. The hotel is tired and very tight on space. The lift is archaic and the rooms as basic as i have been in for a long time. The food was ok.

We had to switch rooms at midnight as the toilet wouldn’t stop flushing an the door from the hall way banging on our door marks on the walls was moved to basic room when I paid for double room,bed was uncomfortable floor was really damaged an made a lot of noise each step inside the room. we stayed for a quite sleep as home is very loud were we live cleaning staff very loud could hear them shouting down the stairs an outside our room in the morning despite the do not disturb sign we explained this on the first night aswell why we were there,freezing cold changing rooms in pool area no hair dry or hand even hand dryer in sight even thou all over the hotel was big Signs saying do not come thru the hotel wet very bizarre

One night stay. The staff were excellent, really friendly and helpful. Location was ideal, close to the pier, the beach and the gardens. Bar and restaurant area have recently been done up and are very nice. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant in the evening. Didn’t use the pool as it was still warming up after shutdown for winter but enjoyed a game of pool and darts. Our room was small and dated which was the only downside to a lovely two days in GY.

The hotel was within walking distance and the staff were extremely friendly / helpful.

The only thing i would say us the rooms were far too hot, which meant we had to open the windows but it was noisy at times. Great to have a pool and games room as a bonus too. But pool water was pretty cold. Overall great hotel.

Lovely view of the beach.

The check in was easy. I did find it a little confusing how to enter the premises but may just have been me!
The room was clean and well presented, just a little dated but it is an older building so to be expected.
We only stayed one night and just used as somewhere to sleep so cannot comment on service with regards to food and drink.
We had a room with a sea view which was lovely. It was nice to see the moon on the sea in the night.
Overall a very good location and a comfortable overnight stay.

The room was not cleaned all barring 1 day(4 night stay)and when we complained we were told it was juat a miss cumunication error and nobody really was bothered apart from a couple of staff which we were friendly with

My family and I stayed at The Palm Court Hotel for 2 nights in August 2023 and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the family room for the 4 of us was perfect for our needs and budget. The location of the hotel was excellent with a 10 minute walk to Britannia Pier and the hustle and bussle of Great Yarmouth centre. On site car parking included in the price was very convenient and helpful. We would definitely come and stay at this hotel again. Thank you to the staff of The Palm Court Hotel.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The main area's of the hotel were good bar area dining room pool area all good and clean. Car parking was good. Our room was very tired and needs updating. Carpet was old and had a horrible smell. Had kettle for tea and coffee but no water, tap in bathroom but difficult to fill kettle, needs to have bottled water supplied. Breakfast is a fixed charge £13, which is expensive if you want just a poached egg for example. If menu had price against what you ordered we would have probably had Breakfast there. Overall for what we paid we were generally happy. Staff were welcoming and friendly.
