The owner and help were really friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and there were several unexpected amenities. Like I loved the lavender mister.
The breakfast was very nice and is served out in the patio overlooking the area that's used for weddings.
The only ding I would give them is when we couldn't make breakfast our first morning there was meager options. All were full of sugar. I'd like to see some healthier options

We absolutely love staying at Gold Mountain Manor. This place has such a warm, welcoming feel that makes every visit special. The property is beautiful, peaceful, and perfect if you’re looking to relax and unplug.

Toni was incredible from start to finish. She made everything feel welcoming and effortless, and her attention to detail really shows in the experience.

We genuinely love coming back here, and it has become one of our favorite places to stay. We highly recommend it if you’re looking for a charming, comfortable getaway.

We don’t often ‘Review’, leaving that to others … But, where shall we start? …

Built in 1928 as “Murmuring Pines”. Today it’s best known as the Gold Mountain Manor, a wonderful, historically maintained Bed-and-Breakfast.

The original builder family invested in the early West Coast Movie Business and their sprawling 25 acre ranch Main House sufficed to keep the ‘who’s who” of Hollywood away from public eye. The current day Manor rests on an acre. It’s authentic \"ranch-style\" Log Mansion is an example of early 20th-century luxury architecture. CHARMING.

As first time Bookers here, we were ‘Internet Skeptical’ but that was laid-to-rest the moment we drove up and was greeted by one of the owners, Darrin.

Located on the North side of Big Bear Valley in a quiet area tucked slightly inland from the water’s edge of beautiful Big Bear Lake. The 7,000sf mansion exudes common areas large enough for entertaining. The main room grand fireplace is built from quartz mined from Gold Mountain. Looking closely, you can see flecks of gold embedded. Of the current day 7 Suites, we chose the Cozy Pine with its modernized rustic feel, a tree inspired 7 foot poster bed, a slate-surrounded jacuzzi tub for two, remote-controlled fireplace and in-room TV and Coffee.

This property has very sketchy underlining fees. Do not say here. The property sounds like it is breaking down and needs clear fixing up. The host will try to charge your card for fees they did not tell you about after the fact. They also create fake fees like noise complaints in hopes that you will pay extra money. Whatever you do not stay here.

This is a charming, traditional B & B! The staff is very friendly. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. A gourmet breakfast is served at a common table which was fun and delicious! There are games and activities for both indoors and outdoors. The front garden is lovely even at night when it is lit with fairy lights.

Do not book if you have children under 5 years old. I did not actually stay here. I purchased a one night stay through Expedia. Within 10 minutes the bed and breakfast called me directly to confirm my arrival time. I informed them that I have small children. The gentleman stated they do not allow children under 5. i did not see this on the listing prior to booking the one night stay. I gave five stars because he was able to quickly help me get a refund even though it was listed as non-refundable.

As a true bed & breakfast, the stay was fantastic. The food was excellent - omelets, french toast, fresh fruit yogurts, etc. all served out on the patio for a beautiful start to the day. The room was comfortable and cozy. And they truly are pet-friendly. We were able to bring our little dog with us and had a nice, relaxing weekend.

As our first experience at a Bed & Breakfast, we were spoiled! Darrin and Amy were incredible hosts! The place was clean, full of things to do and really cool antiques, we could have stayed in our whole trip if we wanted to! The hosts even served us breakfast! Can't say enough about our stay. Beautiful old cabin converted to a B&B, the old style where they actually serve you breakfast! Quaint and quiet made for a wonderful weekend at Big Bear. Toni was so nice and the owner, Darrin was also around and they were so hospitable.

Enjoyed playing pool in the billiard room and enjoyed the Clark Gable room despite having the bathroom across the hall!

Highly recommend this place for a nice change of pace. We can't wait to go back!

We came for a weekend get away for the weekend during the summer in August. It was so much cooler than Los Angeles, the room was comfortable, cool with a huge restroom and access to various indoor and outdoor areas. Hidden gem in big bear

The manor is very warm and inviting. The age of the building is not a negative factor, I would say it’s quite the opposite. The common areas have all the modern amenities and each room is unique and charming. The host provides a delicious homemade breakfast that you don’t want to miss!

The only area that I didn’t give a five star was condition. Only due to the fact that the building is nearly 100 years old. Not due to neglect.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Gold Mountain Manor. It is a truly unique lodge in the beautiful setting of Big Bear Lake. The hosts Darrin and Amy made us so welcome - it felt like staying with old friends. The lodge has a range of beautiful guest areas including a verandah where a delicious breakfast is served each morning and several lounges with lovely comfy sofas - the perfect place to while away a few hours. The garden setting was surrounded by trees and lots of seating areas. Our bedroom - The Clark Gable room - was sumptuous and cosy. Our only regret was that we wished we'd booked a longer stay!

My first Bed &Breakfast!

We were greeted as soon as we pulled in the lot by Darrin and his friendly dog Jax. It was like family welcoming you in their home. The entire property is cozy, peaceful, and full of beautiful decor and trinkets, The place was built in 1928 so it’s full of history, charm, antique furniture, working wood burning fireplaces downstairs and in your room. The veranda was a nice place to enjoy morning coffee overlooking the snow covered garden. Plenty of outdoor garden to walk around or sit in a rocking swing and enjoy the beautiful pine trees. My husband and I loved exploring the place and also the fact it’s only 10-15 minutes to big bear village.

9a breakfast was delicious, made with love and care. We sat with the other guests there which was nice to meet them and hear about their plans for the day and the next morning see how their adventure went!

The place is really a gem and we look forward to staying here again.

Not a regular hotel but, Bed and breakfast concept where they not one serve breakfast but prepare your plate and bring it to you. It was a cool experience for us and staff made it better. This is not corporate hotel that you directly communicate with the owner of the hotel which makes things easier if you have sort of challenges to deal with. I did not give five stars because of a power outage happened around 3.00 am when it was freezing cold and woke up to a cold room until it’s fixed around 6.00am.

This was one of best places I have ever stayed. The staff was unbelievably accondating and friendly. They served breakfast each morning and made sure everyone dietary restrictions were followed. The breakfast was also delicious. The entire property is rich with history and just so warm and comforting. There is a beautiful little lawn where they hold weddings. A cozy game room with tons of games, movies and a pool table. I would stay here again and again.

We were in the Bessie room, each room is unique.
Room was ample, bedding was first class, had wood burning fireplace.
Very, very rustic. The small, electric space heater for the room couldn't hold a steady room temperature. Bathroom was tiny, with minimal counter space, I could barely turn around in the shower. Breakfast was delicious but was unavailable except at 9 AM, with no flexibility. Since many Big Bear activities start at 9, we had to choose between the breakfast and the activities.

Gold Mountain Manor is one of the most amazing places I've stayed in California, hands-down. Beautiful vintage touches, comfortable (though very soft!) beds, clean updated amenities but not so new that they lack character. We stayed for 1 night in the Lucky Baldwin Room (across from a room where Clark Gable stayed!) and actually had the whole manor to ourselves!

We enjoyed the pool table, lovely piano, in-tune guitar, beautiful furniture and history all around us, and the peace and quiet of the area. The pictures don't do the manor justice!

Check-in was easy via text, and the three staff members we interacted with (1 for check-in, and 2 for breakfast the next morning) were helpful, communicative, kind, genuine, and made sure we had everything we needed.

If we go to Big Bear again we will definitely be staying here!

Please note, we stayed here in June, and not during snow season.

Lovely is the one word I would use to describe it!

We are not ones to write reviews for which I apologize since we rely on them so much for our planning purposes. This was a birthday weekend for my wife so we wanted a little bit of a different experience than a typical hotel. This was compounded by the fact that we have not travelled at all with Covid. Well Darrin and Amy made a hero of me because my wife loved everything about it. From the quaintness, character, service and lovely breakfast it was just wonderful. The wood burning heater in the ‘Lucky Baldwin’ room really added to the experience. Eggs Benedict on the Saturday morning on top of a croissant filled with fresh tomato and spinach leaves...delicious. I do appreciate how safe you made everything with the pandemic. Thank you so much for making it special and I promise we will be back if you will have us. :-)

It was a magical way of stepping back in time. My husband and I celebrated our 50th birthdays, it was very cozy. The staff was super friendly. We loved the vibe, breakfast was delicious and the house was just lovely overall it met our expectations.

Every aspect of our stay at Gold Mountain Manor was fantastic. From the clear communication from the lovely owners, Darrin and Amy, prior to our arrival, to the cozy room and amazing common areas, we had an amazing stay and will definitely be back.
