We stood two nights villa 37. Our Villa was on the second floor ( no elevator) but it was okay we could manage. The villa has a private porch, the villa had a very authentic old school carribean feel. Bright colors. Spacious with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. All Villas are individually owned so this may differ from villa to villa.

The pros: the space was very pretty and was clean.
Two bathrooms is always a plus!!!
And they bidet and Hot Water ( this is a serious plus) were excellent. Best hot water in the DR. The beds were comfortable as well.
The location is impeccable, right on the playa bonita strip. Literally go right across to the beach for the complimentary breakfast.
The pool looked beautiful ( but we did not get a chance to get in).
Ventilation was great. And porch had a fan that helped with mosquitoes.
Old school persianas that opened leading from the porch to the main room.
The landscape was also plush and beautiful.
Toilet tissue and hand soap provided

Cons:
No paper towels or dish soap provided so you definitely have to purchase.
Stove didnt really work great.
Definitely buy water as you will only get a couple at check in. And a couple of sodas. Sadly one soda was already open when we checked in.
The fridge is a bit dated and rusted.
There are pots and pans but not ideal for longer stays if you an on actually cooking. Just not enough to be functional.
No coffee maker ( big disappointment)
The the furniture is a bit worn down.
TV did not work.

Playa El Colibrí in Las Terrenas was an incredible stay. It feels like a charming old country house right by the beach — cozy, peaceful, and full of character. The location is perfect, with great restaurants within walking distance and the beach literally just steps away. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast each morning was amazing. I have nothing but great things to say about this place and would definitely come back!

we stay here for a destination party. overall, our stay was great. The property is close by to the beach. Breakfast is included. You do have to cross a small street to the breakfast area, which is located on the beach. Breakfast was great. Staff is very friendly, approachable, and helpful. we stayed in two different villas which were clean, but the biggest issue was the amount of mosquitoes. housekeeping did come in to tighten up the rooms, but we did have to ask for additional towels. I wouldn’t stay again due to the fact of the amount of mosquitoes that were in each villa. I understand that being in Dominican Republic, they will be some type of mosquitoes, but this was out of control. We had to go out and buy candles and more bug spray. It was out of control so be aware when staying here and bring the appropriate repellent. Overall, the area is very safe. You’re able to walk to different restaurants to the beach. There’s a little convenient store right next to the hotel.

The property was great. Amazing hotel. But the staff is absolutely clueless and all over the place. Extremely poorly managed. TV’s didn’t work, when reported to front desk I was told they were sending someone to, they never did. Check in clearly stated on the reservation 1pm. We couldn’t check in until 3:30pm. At the hotel restaurant, the food took 2.5 hours to come out and they forgot half of the orders of our group of 9 people.

While this place loses a few points because of its confusing and limited parking, relatively spartan accommodation and (what I can only hope was) an isolated incident where I was awakened at 3:30am due to staff loudly working behind the building, the location, the staff's friendly / accommodating nature and the relatively low cost, ultimately means that this place can indeed be recommended.

I found this place very cozy, confortable, and inexpensive. It’s very family oriented. The staff was very friendly and professional. The food was delicious.

The room was nice and clean, however it can benefit from some upgrading. I but I will definitely visit again.

What an amazing choice for those who are too independent to do an all-inclusive. This place is fantastic. Breakfast is served every morning on the beach and the same place has a happy hour every afternoon. I would recommend venturing out for dinner, just because there are so many lovely choices not far away. The beach is pristine, the pool is a great refresher, the apartments are really spacious and comfortable for multiple nights. We even stayed in one night and made our own dinner. The private balcony was an added bonus. If we ever return to the Dom Rep, we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

Perfect little apart hotel on the beach , quiet location within walling distance of town and nightlife , restaurants, nice pool very well equipped kitchenettes, perfect beach with lounge chairs and bar in the beach. Good breakfast complete with fresh juices breads eggs fruits etc... wifi is ok. Super clean rooms and well designed with comfy balcony with furniture to lounge or have a meal. Good TV with ample cable channels. Good service and fair price for accommodation and quality of beach. Most apart hotels in Las Terranas are almost the same this one is one of the best mostly due to its perfect location on one of the best beaches in the world.

Relaxing time in beautiful sorroundings

We were assigned room 43. In addition to the pillow top bed and bathroom with shower, it included a kitchenette, balcony, table for 2 and safe. It was clean and comfortable. Service was very good and breakfast varied and plentiful. The beach is gorgeous and nearby there are very good choices for eating out, specially in Pueblo de Pescadores. Very nice gardens and pool. Our only complain is for the noisy laundry area, which is located right behind room 43, in front of the balcony. Even with the windows and doors closed, we could hear the conversations among employees, the music they were listening to and the motorcycles when the staff arrived or left the parking lot next to the laundry area. Overall, it was a nice stay. We enjoyed the beach, the sun, the pool, the gardens and the food!

My husband and I wanted a few days of sun time in early February this year. It was our first time in the Dominican Republic and we booked at the very last minute. We are not really keen on \"all inclusive resorts\"so we hesitated quite a bit in selecting where to stay, finally deciding for the Hotel Colibri, along the beach about a 10 minute walk from the centre of Las Terranas. This turned out to be a great choice for us as it had a real Caribbean feel to it both because of its setting on the beach and the local style of the comfortable apartment buildings and small villas on the hotel grounds. The gardens were well kept and there were many individual displays of beautiful orchids, roses as well as the usual traditional tropical plantings. Breakfast was laid out at the beach bar on every good weather day, so if one wished, one could move directly from the table to the chaise longue. The beach in front of the hotel is kilometres long and relatively quiet. There are no big resorts on that beach so you can walk and swim everywhere. The hotel is within walking distance of several nice restaurants, either in fishing village, Las Terannas, or even next door at the beach bar Eden. Although we had a fully equipped kitchen in our apartment, we ate most of the time at the Colibri beach bar for convenience, and it was pretty good. overall it was a very good choice of hotel, well maintained, well decorated clean rooms, with a nice swimming pool as well. We would go there again.

Great customer service, Enjoyed breakfast on the beach, 15 min walk to fisherman village to go for lunch or dinner which was a good walk. rooms can use little update. Hotel's food shack should carry more items, most of the times they are out of items you order. Beach is kept very clean and great service on the beach too. You could hire motorcycle cab to go to town for 100 peso. Price I paid for this hotel was totally worth it.

We stayed at this hotel while visiting my daughter who is studying abroad in Santo Domingo.
We all agreed it exceeded our expectations from what we saw online. The room was very cute and inviting, and clean. My only complaint with the room, was that the beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. The grounds and pool were beautiful and well kept.
It was wonderful to have breakfast on the beach, though I would say the food was average except for the amazing fresh fruit. The beach is beautiful!

Great hotel with full kitchen! Very clean! Away from the town a bit (about 20 min walk on the beach, or rent a scooter or ATV), but nice and quiet. Good for families or couples. Beautiful lush grounds with pool. Beach across the street. Great snorkeling from the beach with lots of fish in close. Breakfast included (limited selection) at restaurant on the beach. Staff very helpful and friendly.

This is a very nice hotel with a most pleasant beach. Our room had an AC bedroom, living room/kitchen, and very large balcony. Breakfasts were OK. Service in the hotel was very good, except that there is no phone so whenever we needed anything we had to visit the front desk. The people there spoke good English and were always very helpful. Swimming pool and grounds are spacious, well-maintained, and very attractive. I highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful beach getaway

Located at the quieter end of Las Terrenas, this place was perfect. Our 1 bed unit was perfectly sized for a couple. The bright Caribbean decor, the cosy balcony and the well-maintained grounds made us feel we were getting away from it all. Our unit was towards the back of the property so our ocean view was hindered by the trees on the property but it was still a nice view. The beach is approximately 8 ft from the property and was beautiful. Breakfast on he each at the beachfront cafe was a lovely start to the day. I would've added a few more pieces of furniture (like coffee table or side tables) and table lamps to the living room of our unit to make it more comfortable. Plus a larger TV than the 17 inch one. Overall I loved this place and it was within walking distance to our 2 favorite restaurants - La Vela Blanca and Alisei.

The decor was very colorful and inviting, the staff were very responsive and accommodating. The beach was right there and beautiful. Breakfast served on the beach. Only problem is the noise level caused by motorbikes and ATVs zooming around the town- far enough from this hotel, but overwhelming in the center of town. We walked back to the hotel in the dark around 8pm. There were no street lights- complete blackness- an adventure, but safe in the end.

the room Room Amenities of exepedia were not right, because in the room was not a teamaker, wired internet, (wifi works perfect), second bathroom.
Very friendly staf. You need a car for going to the village. The road was under construction, but when it is finished it is easy to go to the village.
Great restaurants in town, especially restaurant Paco Cabana. Delicous fish and cocktails.

Pretty resort, right on the beach

Here is a simple resort, very adequate for families. Beautiful gardens. Quiet. Great security. Free guarded parking for the car. A big swimming pool when you get tired of the clear, warm Caribbean water just steps away. Nice breakfast. Huge rooms with large kitchenette. Grocery store about 3 miles away (expensive-ish) so bring your own peanut butter and power bars as needed.
Remember to take some sort of bug repellant, also a hat is helpful (it's hot and sunny) and also an umbrella for the occasional tropical downpour.
Snorkeling equipment is not available for rental so bring your own; the water is so clear and the fish are everywhere.
No night-time activities at the resort. Very quiet. Restaurants and bars in town, 3 miles away.
