The property is stunning and the beach is spectacular, unfortunately breakfast is poor for such hotel
Room was beautiful and very clean but had very weak water pressure, about 10% of normal pressure for a shower. Hotel personal is very kind but lack training and guidance. I asked several times over 2 days to extend an additional night but no one was able to assist, management was not available.
Property is truly spectacular and I would stay again despite negative items

we have stayed twice before , this time , we rented a villa
everything about the place is great .
only problem this time was that we only got hot showers twice in 4 days , for the price , it is not acceptable!!
also the level of the restaurant , is not up to par , compared to a few locations we have been to , they should really look into upgraded the cooking!!
but aside from that we love the place ! we are lucky enough to be chefs , and know where to go buy fresh seafood locally , and we make ourself at home , with our cooking and wine drinking!!

The beach area was nice and clean. The ocean view from the resort is breathtaking. The pool looked dirty and the tile around the pool had black mold all around. The room that I stayed was outdated, the furniture looked bad and the bed was uncomfortable and smelled like mildew. On the last day of our stay the resort ran out running water while I was in the middle of a shower I was offered gallon of water to finished my shower and rinse my hair out. Also no running water to flush the toilets. When I called the receptionist, I was informed that the issues with the water was going to be resolve in 1hr, I left the resort 2hrs latter and still no running water. There was only one restaurant open during my stay there. The food prices were outrageous and not many choices to chose from. This property is not a 5 star hotel like it is advertised, more like 3 stars.

The property is postcard beautiful but we didn’t like our room. The sofa was damp, as if it had been shampooed and not dried (they put a nice blanket on it which made it fine) but the room also smelled like smoke which was quite unpleasant. The a/c was very loud and created an intense vibration in the kitchen, one bathroom and part of the bedroom. Two of the sitting chairs were the most uncomfortable chairs we’ve ever sat on but the bed, sofa and dining chairs were very comfortable. Sleep wasn’t good because of the a/c noise (louder than any of the other 4 hotels we stayed at on our visit to the Dominican Republic and louder than any hotel I’ve ever stayed at anywhere). So while the hotel is stunningly beautiful outside, it was our least favorite on our trip and we won’t return.

A Beautiful Escape with Room for Improvement

Sublime Samana truly lives up to its name when it comes to the stunning grounds and serene beachfront location. The natural beauty of the area is breathtaking, with lush landscaping and easy access to the pristine beach, making it a wonderful retreat for those looking to relax in a tranquil setting.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, but at times, it felt like they needed more training—simple requests often led to confusion. While their warmth and kindness made up for some of the hiccups, better training would enhance the overall guest experience.

However, my biggest disappointment was the mattress. For a hotel of this caliber, I expected a five-star sleep experience, but unfortunately, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable. A good night’s sleep is one of the most important aspects of a luxury hotel stay, and this fell short.

Another issue was the bathroom lighting, which was way too dim. Getting ready in such poor lighting was frustrating, and it’s something that should be an easy fix in a high-end hotel.

The dinner restaurant was also a letdown. We tried it the first night and never went back. The menu was very limited and significantly overpriced, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. Living in the DC metro area, I’m used to high prices, but these felt unjustified. It was disappointing to see so few authentic or locally inspired dishes in an area that should highlight Dominican cuisine. More fresh seafood and traditional Dominican flavors—

This place is paradise. The hotel is perfect, recently renovated. The staff is beyond amazing with a perfect smile on their faces all the time. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Their Dominican breakfast is really delicious. The beach, I have no words. Service at the restaurant by Arelys and Horton was top. The receptionists are also super helpful. Security to enter the property makes you feel really safe. I’m definetely coming back.

It’s essential for you to reconnect with yourself and your partner. But if you simply MUST bring the kids, this is as SAFE and amenable a resort as you can find in the DR.

My fiance and I were literally stunned from the moment we stepped out of our car. The staff is a collection of humble, helpful, and peaceful characters. With a special thanks to Karina, Yefry, Jose, Jose, Jose, Juan, and Rony! (If I’ve forgotten anyone, please forgive me, friends!)

Although we are planning other trips to the Caribbean and Europe in our future, if we ever need to disappear to a place we love and trust. We will be coming home to Sublime Samana and hang out with our people. A , 5-stars…a magical experience!

Casitas are NOT in good shape...urgent repairs.

We rented a Casita with Jacuzzi in rooftop. I had been here about 9 years ago, and you can tell the maintenance has been 0 since then. Broken fridge, stove, oven, dish washer, hot tub, broken glass in balcony (serious danger for toddler), kitchen leaking gas... its a long list, just beware to keep your expectations close to reality. Also, the food needs an urgent revision- we continuously ranked food a 2/5. I am sure they can fix this, however, it was not a good experience, and speaking to other guests they all agreed. Regarding the hotel and beach: They remain to be the most AMAZING place, relaxing, and beautiful location, almost unbeatable. Gardens are beautiful. Best pool to relax.The staff in general was awesome, the great service of Jose made a difference in our stay. They do need to fix the casitas if they want to keep the \"small luxury hotels\" seal and Conde Nast Recomendation.

Every area or department was understaffed, condo not prepared upon arrival even though we arrived one gour late, restaurant slow at every meal and food undercooked, especially breakfast. This morning, it took one hour for them to serve us breakfast, they messed my bill during checkout and we are only talking about the charge for incidentals seriously, no cleaning service at night so we had dirty dishes sit in the sink overnight and garbage full as well. It took 30 minutes to get dish soap. They brought a roll of paper towel like you get from a commercial bathroom. The shower heads need serious cleaning or replacement. My daughters’ room did not have hot water until the second day in the late afternoon. The pools near the restaurant were not cleaned well. You can readily see the staff do not smile even though they are friendly, They are obviously understaffed and look disstressed in every area of the hotel.

The hotel has a lot of potential but it needs a better management tram that will fix all the missing details.
The power and water went out several times EVERY DAY.
The Jacuzzi was filthy and when they came to turn it on it poured more dirt and rust parti les into the water. Also they have a faulty electric heater attached which gave me a strong SHOCK when I touched the water. I immediately turned it off and did not enter the jacuzzi again.
The woodwork needs attention throughout the hotel.
The pools need to be resurfaced and thoroughly cleaned.
The food was ok. Service was ok.

Water kept being interrupted, intermittent electricity black outs, warm water comes and goes, no pressure, loud ac, too many mosquitoes, cockroaches, got double charged on checkout, staff was nice, but theres no quality assurance to back it up. Guest service took 5 hrs to send tech for AC and had to move rooms at 10pm coz couldnt stand heat and noise. Jacuzzi dirty and hot water didnt worked as expected. I expected a lot more. Food was nice, location on, pool is fine. I loved that theres no music or entertainment, i could relax when out. We can do better if we take care of basics ops

I would have absolutely loved to say that my visit was nothing short of sublime. Except it wasn’t. Nikolas the general manager gave the worst experience I’ve ever had in any resort in Dominican Republic and tainted my view of this incredibly gorgeous hotel Sublime. It is NO wonder it was empty!The hotel is itself is phenomenal. Spacious suites, private jacuzzi, breathtaking views, immaculate landscape - it really can’t get better than that. You have 2 restaurants, one at the beach and the other located in the hotel.

My first day, we were checked it my this radiant and hospitable lady named Milanneys. Wow! She really gave a great a first impression and knows what true hospitality is. Nikolas you should take notes from her. She accommodated us and even made possible for me to get a massage as soon as I arrived and checked in. When going back to the front desk to ask some questions regarding where to eat and activitie, I had the unfortunate experience to be “helped” by Nikola. He seemed very occupied with whatever he was doing that he couldn’t even look me in the eyes to answer my questions. As I am having a conversation with this guy, he interrupts me to take a call. Seems he is both the general manager and receptionist? When I checkout, I had the wonderful Milanny accommodating me. Nikola stopped her in the middle of my checkout. He said he’ll do it himself. She had said “ you’re making me feel uncomfortable” and he told her to shut up. To the owners, do better.

From the moment you arrive you have a relaxed check in experience including a cold towel. The room was fabulous. The only issue with the room was the toilet kept running, but it still worked fine. Dining was good, I do think this area coukd benefit from having fans since it is so hot. Also the wifi wasn't very good when there were lots of people eating at the same time. Everything was very clean and felt safe. It was my husband and I and our two daughters age 1 and 3. We had a great experience and will definitely go again!

Sublime is a beautiful hotel with one of the nicest beaches in the Dominican Republic, the hotel has all the amenities required to have a pleasant experience only problem for us was the lack of food variety, they have 2 restaurants that alternate dates but with similar menu, prices are very high for what you get also tip and tax is add to your bill automatically so keep an eye on it.
Employees are helpful, friendly and courteous.
Rooms are very spacious and well appointed.
My family and I had a wonderful time there except for the food as I previously mentioned it.

El lugar es muy bello, tiene todos los servicios necesarios. Las habitaciones son muy amplias y eso es muy ventajoso al viajar en familia. El restaurante es muy muy caro, la verdad los precios no muy elevados, teniendo en cuenta que no es un todo incluido ves con la idea de que el presupuesto se duplica con las comidas. La gente es muy amable y servicial, lo únicos que no cumplieron las expectativas es el personal de Recepcion. Al teléfono no estan pendientes del Whats’up, hasta 3 veces solicitamos que el aire no iba en la habitación y nos dijeron que si que ya lo revisaban, nunca hubo atención a este tema. De las excursiones no tienen la información efectiva y tienen que llamar para confirmar y al final es que no hay excursión disponible. Nos dijeron que nos harian llegar la información de las actividades (para niños, porque les preguntamos y curiosamente no sabian) nunca nos llegó la información. Mi hija no hizo ninguna de las pocas actividades que había disponibles por falta de información. Si vas con niños no hay actividades, no hay espacios de entretenimiento, es un plan muy de descanso y desconexión en una bonita playa. Pero diversión como tal no hay.

The property is beautiful with beautiful suites. I stayed in a one bedroom suite with a living room, guest bathroom, kitchen and large balcony overlooking the pool. Overall the hotel staff was great. The menu options at the restaurant were limited in my opinion however they did very well with accommodating me with my requests which were not on the menu. The grilled lobster is awesome 😋 The resort is so quiet you can hear a pin drop, it’s truly a place of peace and tranquility. I was a bit bored after a while so I bought a day pass for the all inclusive hotel next door which had a lot of fun activities and entertainment at the pool and beach. I would definitely go back

Beautiful yet overpriced hotel. If you come for the beach - you better off staying at Coson. If you come for the comfort and fancy then you will miss expected level of privacy. Only very few rooms will see ocean from the balcony yet all the neighbors will be seeing you. Look great on paper but it's the little details like low water pressure on shower, underpowered AC, NYC fancy restaurant prices for dinner quality dishes, constantly buzzing balcony Jacuzzis, incredibly slow and constantly dropping wifi. I might be spoiled but there are better and more sophisticated options to choose from at mutch better price/ value point.
P.S. If you rented a car then you got options to see beautiful Coson beach (6-8 min drive) or have a perfect dinner at multitude of town restaurants.
