Balcones del Caribe is a beautiful spot with an excellent location and easy access to the beach. The complex feels very safe, and the staff were always helpful when we needed general information.
My only concerns were about the condition of the village: the back door didn’t have a proper lock, the bathroom door wasn’t closing well, and the safe box wasn’t working during our stay.
Overall, it’s a lovely place with great potential—just needs a bit more attention to maintenance.

I stayed in the xeliter Balcones for a week . I liked it very much. It is little away from the restaurant strip about 20 minutes walking and 5 minutes by car or scooter. The beach is accessible accross the property and was awesome and not crowded but very secured. There is a restaurant right in front of the property with valleyball court. We enjoyed a lot. You can coo in the apartment. Some apartments have gas grills and nice size balconies. There was no pollution. It was awesome. Rooms were clean staff was very friendly this place is very family friendly.

This place was a great location and had easy access to the beach. The beach was private which was awesome so it was quiet. The rooms were great size and every room had a bathroom which was amazing. The only issue is sometimes we were missing things in the kitchen and the TV in the room we had was extremely small in the living room.

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. During our stay, we encountered multiple spiders in the room, including on the bed, which immediately raised serious hygiene and safety concerns, especially since we were traveling with a small child.

In addition, there was a power outage, and the bathroom door locked with my child inside, creating a very stressful and potentially dangerous situation. The room also had visible structural issues, including a hole in the bathroom ceiling.

Communication and response from the property were extremely poor, and these issues were not resolved in a timely or satisfactory manner. Given the safety risks, lack of proper maintenance, and overall conditions, we did not feel comfortable staying and had to make alternative arrangements.

I would not recommend this property, particularly for families or anyone expecting basic safety, cleanliness, and reliability.

Terrible stay I choose the most expensive hotel in order to pass good vacations and ended in a cheap place with AC not working, neither the jacuzzi ( it was a bath tub not a jacuzzi) the dryer was not functioning too. The staff didn’t speak English so the communication was really difficult. No cleaning services it was for an extra fee. Very old tv ( not even a smart tv ) with Spanish channels. Very old towels, rusted stove.

The hot tub has no heater. The room had a sharp humid smell. Staff promised to fix the heater, then the repair team came and said they knew it was not fixable. Total scam. Breakfast was terribly served in disposables, arrived late and cold. Not the kind of service we are used to.

No hot water in the facility, no food on site, paint is peeling, cleanliness of apartment was suboptimal, roaches swept under the couch. Active construction was ongoing downstairs in the unit below us on a Saturday with no prior warning which involved banging on pipes. Why one would rent out a space at that time is beyond me. Unneccessarily expensive for what is included. This place takes advantage of tourist and promotes itself as a 4/5 star resort. The experience was no where near this. Such a disappointment.

this was a last-minute decision, the property was very nice, my family was very happy with the room. the private patio and pool/jacuzzi were excellent. Liliana was great bringing us the breakfast that we had ordered during our stay. kirssy was very polite great at check in and check out very informative about the area. responded quickly to my questions. and always followed up. and was extremely helpful. looking forward to our next stay.

The only time we saw or worked with any staff was upon check in at the reception desk and when trying to check in our representative started to help guests who arrived after us. We tried to be patient but had driven several hours and had a new infant with us. The check in process was slow, unorganized, unpleasant and subpar. I would not recommend this property. There are plenty of better villas with better service and amenities.

The three bedroom patio suite was stunning to walk into. On the whole it was a good stay. Just a few things that needed to be corrected for future guests. The dishwasher did not work and had stagnant smelly water in it and the smell tended to permeate the suite. The air conditioners only worked in two of the bedrooms, and the stove did not work. It was such a nice place we worked around it all. It was perfectly located, about a 5 min walk to The Mosquito restaurant.

Great location but apt needed some updating

Apartment location is great and we loved the restaurant across the street. But the apt was dated with a musty smell. The balcony is big and a great place to spend your time. Inside, the lighting was terrible and the linens and towels needed a refresh. Don’t expect cleaning or extra tp or any basics like dish soap… it was a basic Airbnb experience.

there were a number of issues in our unit… the dishwasher and clothes washer did not work, the balcony doors did not lock, there were no screens on the windows and doors so if we opened them to get fresh air, mosquitoes came in! The lighting in the unit was super dim everywhere! no reasonable place to put in makeup/get ready to go out.

We drove past the property seven years ago and it caught our eye. We stayed this time.

Very nicely decorated inside. Beds and linens were great.

Check in was very easy.

The overall property is older and overgrown, but it works.

The kitchen pots, pans and cooking utensils are a worn out. But we successfully prepared meals nonetheless.

The restaurant on the beach is a real upscale treat. Good choices.

Excel service and they served the food very fast.

We will definitely return to this property.

Beautiful Place Bad Experience

I had to wait around 20 minutes just to begin with the check in, because there was only one lady in reception. When we arrived to the apartment, the WiFi didn’t work and the AC of the general areas didn’t work either. We made a report but nothing was fixed and apparently they knew it was damaged because they let it slip in one of my conversations with the staff. The apartment I was staying at, is privately owned and the owners sent a lady (first morning really early and entered the apartment without permission, checking everything on the kitchen) (second day we were at the beach and came back and she was inside, again without permission). There were no beach towels as the website described and when asked to send them, they arrived the second day in the afternoon. When I went to do my checkout (aside that the apartment was nice, the only good thing is that they allowed us to do a late check out) I waited and waited and waited, only one person doing the check out and they didn’t help guests in the order of arrival.
I’m a very positive person and I ended up having a good time because I was spending time with my family BUT I WOULDN’T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. At least not the unit that I stayed in. Of the 4 families making check out, sort of at the same time, one of them had a pleasant stay, the other ones didn’t.

My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary at this hotel. It was absolutely gorgeous. The apartment had all the modern conveniences including full kitchen with a stove. The rooms had cable TV and flatscreens. The decorations of the apartment were flawless and everything was in super good condition and clean. The staff spoke English and was very friendly from the reception all the way down to the security guards. I would definitely return to this place with my family.

We stayed for one night at a 2 bedroom apartment.It was beautifully decorated.One bedroom had 2 queen size beds,while the master bedroom had a king size bed.There were 3 bathrooms.One of the bathrooms was not clean.There was still toilet paper in the trash can from the previous guests.The toilet was also dirty.

The hotel is excellent with great apartments fully furnished. Great decoration and some luxury finishing. I loved my stay with the exception that the living area air conditioning was not working, and cable and wifi were intermittent.
I loved the Porto Restaurant and the beach club. Excellent service there and the food quality was very good, and prices were in the normal range.

Good property for long stay

Not necessarily a hotel; we didn't know about this, thus got a bit confused at the beginning. The property is well located within beautiful Las Terrenas. It consist of beach apartments for rent by owners. There is a basic hotel service, not quite full. So be prepare. Overall it is a good option for family or long stays. The apartments are fully equipped.

I enjoyed my stay! I booked this place for two nights. Took the option with breakfast (not really needed as food is cheap and restaurants are within walking distance). The rooms were equipped with everything. So, you can bring your own stuff and use their kitchen and charcoal grill. It is perfect for families that want to be comfortable without spending a fortune.

the directions to the place are kind a difficult foe tourist to get there the place has no name in front or entrance
but its a hidden paradise I was in room 1131 with two floors very comfortable bedding even thou the air conditioning was not working in one of the rooms we managed to enjoy the beautiful villa I highly recommended the best placed I stayed in this vacation

Amazing place!

Most beautiful place in Las terrenas. Great place for families. Included amenities I've never seen before in other hotels. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Outstanding service and outstanding place. This place is a small paradise in Paradise. My kids were extremely happy and I felt as if we were in heaven. Supermarkets and shopping, restaurants, etc close by. Beautiful area, looking forward to visiting again in the near future.
