I was given the ambulant room for some reason even though I am not in a wheelchair. The bathroom had a terrible smell about it. There were no tea or coffee facilities in the room - you had to go to a common kitchen. Yuk. The bed was comfortable. The room had no outlook- the only window was opaque because it fronted the side street where people walked by. Very claustrophobic. Also lots of stairs and no help with bags early in the morning if you needed it.

We stayed in a room at the backyard. There were tables there for people to sit and it was very noisy in the mornings and at nights since there was no sound proofing.
Our room was cleaned the next morning, but the day after that they didn't come and service our room.
The receptionist didn't give us any information about breakfast, wi-fi, parking, etc.
It's at a very central location, close to public transport, shops, supermarket and restaurants and cafes.

The property being a historical building for absolutely gorgeous, but in staying that, the services within the room were dated, low pressure with hot water and took a while for it get hot once turned on. Rooms were on the small side, on the main road, which is handy, with the downside of the noise from traffic and road works. Rooms are not acoustically built.

The Lurline Randwick is conveniently located to the Light Rail (1min), Coles Randwick, Woolworths, Royal Randwick Shopping Centre. Our room was spacious but a very small bathroom. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

The Lurline - comfortable stay

The Lurline is in a great location as the Light Rail is right across the road which took us directly to the SCG & also to the city is needed.

The building has a lovely feel to is due to its age however, the bathroom in our room was very small and challenging to have a shower.

Overall a lovely visit at The Lurline.

lots of ambulance sirens, people being ill in the street outside. staff bought new towels but didn’t take away the used ones that were drenched from the leaking door of the shower. staff didn’t wash up our used glasses and cups. noise from people in the courtyard .

Property had excellent location for our needs, access to UNSW. However, the property looked much better online than in person, and was not particularly good value for money. Some unexpected surprises - no elevator, AC was not running in our room on arrival on a hot day, bathroom fan super noisy and switches on with light. Positive points were location - close to UNSW, shops, transport - and that it had good sound insulation - quiet rooms despite being on a busy intersection.

Small room, with tiny bathroom, felt very squished with three people. Courtyard room requires walking outside, whoch would have been fine except it was pouring with rain. No shelter, slippery tiles and tiled steps to reach room. Unable to pre-book parking until morning of arrival, then to be told there is none available. While the property looks lovely and is presented well, overall we paid a lot of money for its location and nothing else.

This is a beautiful historic property in a fabulous location. We have stayed here previously and enjoyed our stay. This time however we were allocated a room right at the entrance of the property across from the lobby. Not only were we dealing with traffic noise, which we understand is outside the control of the owners of the property, the noise extending late into the night and early morning from people entering and leaving the property really impacted on our stay and sleep. The room needs a refresh, the beauty of the building and architecture of the room is let down by the tired decor and marked walls.

Our 2 night stay in a courtyard room was unpleasant due to noise from other guests in the courtyard and adjoining rooms, we were kept up into the early hours on both nights. There is no staff on site to help ensure a comfortable stay for all guests. Would not recommend and will not stay again.

I had to have day surgery at the Prince of Wales Hospital so the location was very good. The room was a decent size but the bathroom/ensuite was ridiculously small and very awkward to use. My husband had a lot of difficulty showering and could not fit to stand in front of the mirror to shave.

The exteria of the hotel is very beautiful. Everything inside the building is stylish and well designed.
The beds were very comfortable, great hot water and pressure in the shower. Location is fantastic with easy access to the city via the light rail. The only downside is that the parking is very limited and the spaces quite tight.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Lurline, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm welcome and professionalism of the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable.

The room was simply fantastic – spacious, well-appointed, and impeccably clean. I loved the rich heritage of the building & its features.

The hotel's location couldn't have been better. Situated in a prime area, it was easy to explore the city's attractions and dining options. Plus, the convenience of nearby transportation made getting around a breeze.

What truly set The Lurline apart, though, was the exceptional level of service. The staff was not only friendly and welcoming but also incredibly attentive to my needs. They were always available to offer recommendations or assist with any inquiries, making me feel valued as a guest.

Hi I stayed at the property for a couple of nights over Australia Day . The main issue one could have is not getting a shared balcony unless beforehand request it . The room I thought I was getting featured a balcony at the front but in reality was given a room at the back on the side just a room. Upon going back to reception and calmly detailing the situation we went from a room, to the best room imo.

The only other issues for me were inside the air conditioner unit was a build up of blackish mould on the internal plastic airflow to the room. I’d prefer if it was white , no ill effects or mould smell was noticed. And finally the refrigerator is not a compressor type so it can take more than 24 hours to cool some 1.5 litre bottles of drink, an upgrade here would be easy and positive.

On the plus side transport to the city is easy on the L2 tram . Parking no issue for free street parking . Noise well the front rooms would be noisier than the rest but that is expected and the noise is minimal as well sound proofed . Bedding , temperature and fresh air perfect.

Would I stay again?, most definitely .

We have stayed here several times- the price is good, the location is excellent- with the light rail only across the road- so easy to access the city cheaply, rather than driving in. There is a small shopping centre up the road a short walk, with Harris Farm, Woolies and quite a few smaller shops. The location is a big win.
The rooms are lovely- always clean and comfy with everything you need to stay. My only ever so slight gripe with the rooms is the bathrooms are very small...really small shower spaces, but it's not a deal breaker for me.
Parking is limited, but there is plenty of street parking around, but they do have time limits on them (overnight you are good until 9am).
There is a gorgeous courtyard with guest access only, which is a really lovely space to sit and relax.
Be careful of some of the access steps- I have contacted the motel to let them know...they are different depths, so you must navigate them slowly.
Reception staff are friendly and welcoming. Cannot fault them making a smooth check in/check out process.
Too small issues for me (the showers and the stairs), but as I said- not a deal breaker for us- we'll be back at some stage I hope!

This was a very comfortable stay with a hike balance of hotel amenities and extras that made it feel like a home away from home. I was pleasantly surprised with access to full kitchen and washer and dryer, extra bathroom to use for shower if needed. Greta location at the end of the L2 line at Randwick that effortlessly takes you into Circular Quay downtown Sydney. Transportation is very inexpensive and easy to navigate. Hotel location is also a short bus ride away to both Coogee Beach and the popular Bondi Junction. Highly recommend!

I have stayed before and given five stars for a heritage room. This time I booked a studio. I would advise booking the heritage or courtyard rooms as a couple of the studio rooms were dark and uninviting, and had no view because they were under street level. However, I am giving five stars for the staff who were accommodating and friendly and managed to move us to a better room. Would definitely stay again in one of the better rooms.

Extremely clean and a variety of type of rooms to choose from. Best of all, it is right opposite the Sydney Light rail so you can travel directly from Randwick to Sydney Ferry Terminal, Opera House, able to stop off anywhere in the City Centre.

Its all about the room

After a very long flight I was a little disappointed with my room which had no view and was a studio basement room. I was then put into a heritgae room which was lovely, but the sounds of the drainage was bad at night and early am. i then moved into a room on the courtyard higher floor. It was cosy, comfy, super clean and the staff did every thing they could to ensure I was happy. I loved my stay thereafter and was impressed with the care they gave me. The location was super easy to get anywhere.

The phone was a little dusty in the room and my curtain was ripped, but beds were comfortable and clean, and the rest of the studio was clean with fairly new fitouts and I felt safe and secure on my own. Stayed two nights prior to surgery, some staff were very friendly and accommodating - and some a little dismissive when asking for something like a pair of scissors.

I would recommend you stay there, and I would stay there again. You can hear the people in the other room after they return from a night out, but that’s ok, and surprisingly the street noise wasn’t that bad at all. Obviously you will hear ambulances being close to the hospital.

Walking to my surgery at Prince of Wales hospital was easy so definitely saved the hassle of someone dropping me off at 6am.

Overall a nice little find and a nice stay.

I reported on day 2 that the blind in my room was broken and I couldn’t put it up. It wasn’t fixed and I had to rig up a way of holding it up. When I mentioned it as I was checking out the receptionist laughed and said “the handyman comes today”. No help to me. It should have been fixed.
