me and my wife checked the room and it was a room with double bed and they looked like twin beds, we went back down and told her that my reservation was for a room with Queen bed, she tried to make us stay and us the room with the double beds even do I told her I was traveling with my wife and the beds where really small for me and my wife to sleep in together, after telling her several times that the it was not acceptable she changed our room to a room on the 5th floor room 511, the room shower was not clean it had hairs on the walls, the bed was hard and so are the pillows they felt like they are filled with hard old rags, and the bed was really hard, the room was cold and when we tried to use the heather, it did not work, me and my wife just agreed to not pay attention and to make the best of our trips, we dont like people going into our room even if we are not there so we always leave the do not disturbe sign on so service personal do not go into the room, they went into the room 2 times, when we told the receptionist they said well they go in to see if guest have not left the hotel with out checking out,our booking was for 5 days, we told the receptionist you guys have computers that let you know how many days the guest is booked for, on Saturday morning we went to check out and they tried to charge us a extra 130 drls, since he could not provide a reason for the charge I told him I was not going to pay and walk out and ask them to call Hotels.com for any disputes

El cuarto está bien y por lo que pagas, lo vale, el checkout era hasta las 3 PM, nunca había visto eso, el personal es amable, lo único malo es que a pesar de estar hasta el último piso, el ruido de la calle es notable, música y ruido de motos y automóviles.

Yegamos alas 4 am de nuestro vuelo y nos dijieron que no tenian nuestra habitacion losta que por que no abiamos yegado temprano y nos tubimos qje esoerar por que no abi ninguna habitacion displonible. Y hasta las 8 de la manana nos entragadon una habitacion. Como va aser posible que por yegar tarde uno de su avion ya no le guarden tu habitacion si ya esta pagada. Ya despues de eso me dieron mi cuarto pero ahora tengo q yamar a expedia lara aver si me regresan mi dinero d ese dia

This was a terrible expierence! I was shocked, Hotels.com did not fund me, at least partial. I expexted mire fom rhem. So many things were wrong, since we triedchecking in. Giving people keys, that were already occupied. Dirty, dingy rooms. Unpleasant service. I have an upcoming trip to Texas, family vacation. Im not sure i want to book with Hotels.com...

Hometown visit

Great to visit my hometown where I was born. The location was excellent and easy to walking distance in the historic centro. These are streets that I remember walking around when I was a kid. Love been back home. Had a great time visiting. Leon has lots of good food and goodies to eat.

Not what I expected...

They say you get what you pay for. But after staying here for only one night I now rather pay more to get rest. You can hear others people’s conversations from next door. The sheets and towels are old. The curtains are so dirty. I don’t recommend this place.

This hotel is steps away from the Centro of Leon. Parking is offered free of charge. Staff is nice and recommended places to buy great leather goods for a great price. Rooms offer a great view to the Centro park of Leon. Room price is affordable but keep in mind that this is an older hotel. Definitely will stay here again on my next trip to Leon.

We only had one night to spend but the Hotel Rex was ideal for its reasonable cost and closeness to the central plaza and the centro historico. We had a reasonable breakfast but our coffee was cold!.

I booked because in Expedia it showed rooms available so I pay and I get to the hotel to find out that there is no rooms and it took the front desk guy about 10 minutes to tell me that cause he was on the phone (he wasn’t on the phone when I told him about my booking) overall bad service I have been trying to get a refund and it seems like I won’t be able to do so because of their policies or something like that but just didn’t even stay there I don’t recommend it at all and it didn’t look as nice as the pictures

Decent hotel literately in the Historic downtown

It's a decent hotel. Building is quite old, and with that comes old carpets, old elevators, etc. But rooms are clean, and smell good (none of that old building smell). Beds are of satisfiable quality and firmness, and restaurant is cheap, yet good. Also, internet in the room and in the common areas was surprisingly good. Oh, and parking is included in the price, which is quite important in downtown Leon, as parking is often a problem, and it is not cheap.

Overall, I'd say I would recommend this hotel, given it's price/value ratio, but just be aware, if you do not like old hotels, do not come here.

Hotel has no room heating

I booked 2 nights.Staff were excellent clean room
However heating system not working I inquire about it I was told heating system NOT WORKING FOR ENTIRE HOTEL??? I was freezing both nights ( unusually cold for season)..the only good thing it was whithin walking distance of the places I wanted to see.

Good location but that's it!

We speak a little Spanish and can usually get by. But no hotel staff spoke one word of English or french(can't fault them there)!
Although they were very helpful, they couldn't make up for the condition of the hotel-smelly hallways in need of upgrades, reeked of cigarette smoke even though it's non-smoking, room cleanliness so-so, also in need of upgrade. Not a good place for the price!

I would not go back

I think this hotel is trying hard to upgrade their image but they have a long way to go. Lobby and hallways smelled terrible..carpets are in terrible condition. The elevator smelled like vomit and by looking at the carpet it is possible that I am accurate about source of smell. Some strange looking characters around so I would not bring kids to this hotel. The expedia images tell a different story. The rooms were not that bad though. The bathroom was also fine. If you are in a jam and cannot find hotels in Leon then this is fine, otherwise wait until they complete upgrading and raise pricess to attract different clients.

The room was small with a TV that only worked 2 of 3 days, no ice available at night, no bar open after 7, carpet was old. Staff was nice but only spoke spanish. The local traffic in the late afternoon was terrible.

Beware, do not go the Hotel Real Rex

It was a lousy choice.
We were unable to sleep because there were building workers hammering at night From 11:30 till 12:300.
Common areas are filthy. We were unable to use the safety box at our room.
The facet shower was useless.
A truly bad experience. Never go there.

The Hotel is decent for what I paid. The only big issue i had was that that AC was not working and the room was hot. There was no one to fix it so staff fixed the issue by opening the windows. I would stay again at this hotel but I will first make sure the AC is works well

Don't let the pictures fool you!!

This hotel needs a lot of updates,it is definitely not what we were expecting from the pictures we saw online.There was some weird vent in between the restrooms that connected to the next hotel room and you could hear everything that went on in there even though the rooms were non smoking we could smell the smoke coming from there also through the vent!!The beds are so hard and thin almost like you are sleeping on a board.The only thing we liked about this hotel was it's location because it is downtown & you can walk almost anywhere you need to go.

Conveniently and affordable

Due to our travel arrangements we arrived early. Despite a full hotel the night before, the Hotel Rex was able to accommodate us with a clear room as soon as possible. The hotel is conveniently at the corner of the main plaza and next to the bus routes to the Zona Piel.

One negative, the breakfast commons was supposed to be open at 7:30 but opened late so we ate rushed in order to catch our departing bus.

A small and affordable hotel in the downtown area.

I stated three nights at the Real Rex Hotel located in the Leon downtown area. This hotel is very reasonable, $39.00 the night . The hotel is an old hotel but it is very clean. It is a good deal, particularly if you are not going to spend a lot of time in it. .

La realidad del hotel no concuerdan con las fotos, ya está muy deteriorado, el elevador parece que se va a caer, los climas muy antiguos, cuando se apagó comenzó a gotear en nuestras cabezas, dos personas y una sola toalla, no volvería a ese lugar, el desayuno continental para llorar, se rescata el personal fue amable.

Puntos a mejorar, limpieza en las camas.

El estacionamiento muy gandre y cumplio con mi espectativa, la habitacion dejo a desear la calidad y limpieza de la cama.
La cama en plastico y por lo tanto hace ruido.
La limpieza de la cama, los edredones manchados, mi hija no queria dormir ahi a pesar que le puse sus mantas en sima. Pero creo que es un punto de mejora.
El deterioro en algunas cosas creo que es normal por ser un edificio en el centro de Leon y lo que significa estar ahi.
En general le doy un 7 de 10.

Calificarlo como pésimo es poco, entiendo por qué te obligan apagar al reservar y no permiten cancelación, de haber llegado sin previo pago no me hospedó, a la llegada nos registramos y esperamos un lapso de 5 a 10 minutos a que llegara una segunda persona para que nos acompañará a la habitación, dicha persona llegó con una bolsa del Oxxo con cervezas, ya ni ganas de salir de la habitacion con esa primera impresión, la habitación grande pero feo no debería de valer más de $500.00 es un hotel viejo por dónde lo veas, descuidado, huele horrible, sin ventilación adecuada, el asensor da miedo de las condiciones en las que está, al encender la luz del baño se activa el aire acondicionado que suena como lavadora vieja, te ofrecen según el de cortesía, la verdad ni ganas de tomarlo, solo de ver el estado de las habitaciones da asquito imaginar la cocina
