We had a wonderful stay at the Pimalai. The airport transfer was seamless and well organized. Upon arrival, we received a welcome drink and were informed that they upgraded us to a beachside villa. The villa was spacious, very clean, and had wonderful indoor/outdoor features! I got a massage at the spa and it was excellent.

My only critique would be the food. Breakfast was good, but could be improved by trimming down the offerings and focusing on the freshness of buffet items. Unfortunately, I believe my husband got food poisoning from the smoked salmon (that was the only thing he ate that I did not). The three meals (other than breakfasts) that we ate at the hotel were okay, but did not seem worth the price. We found great food in the nearby village of Kantiang for the rest of the meals during our stay. We would highly recommend going to the local restaurants for lunch and dinner, only a short 10 min walk down the beach.

I’ve traveled all over the world, and this was the best stay I’ve ever had. They don’t let you lift a finger, even if you want to! I’ve never been so pampered in my life. The free transfer from the airport is much nicer than advertised - we had a private car with AC, free water, and their own private speedboat to the island. We didn’t carry a bag from the moment they picked us up until the moment they dropped us back off at the airport. The resort amenities are top notch, and they even upgraded us to a villa with a private pool. I am still in disbelief at how beautiful it was and everything that was included in the space… because it’s on a hill, they have buggies that bring you anywhere you want within the resort. The food and free breakfast were superior, the spa services left us in a stupor, and the convenience was incomparable. They even have their own app for you to access their services at the touch of a button, and they’re immediately responsive for any request you make. I feel spoiled and sad leaving, but will definitely be back. Book this place!

It’s not often I leave a review but when I receive exceptional service it’s important that it’s noted. From start to finish this hotel was impeccable and by that I mean, four seasons hotel standard - which is my benchmark. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was cleaned and inspected twice a day and the in room dining was sublime. I can be a picky person at times but there simply wasn’t anything that wasn’t perfect about this wonderful establishment and I shall definitely be back. I was a sole traveller but everyone made me feel so welcome. I did leave a tip but please thank all of the staff for being so amazing and I can’t wait to come back one day. If you are looking for a luxury holiday hotel with great service then look no further!

Amazing stay at the Pimalai

As soon as we stepped off the jetty from our arrival speedboat pick up we knew we were in good hands. The staff were always so friendly and helpful, we were on our honeymoon and they provided us with some many special touches, they went above and beyond and the villa was beautiful. Would highly recommend.

This was our first time ever at this property. My girlfriend and I had the most amazing time at this resort. It felt like an episode of White Lotus, we were treated with 5 star class and service from ever staff and the food was amazing. The price is on the higher side for Thailand but this hotel any where else would be $1,000’s a night. Hotel recommended 10 out of 10 times.

Best property on Lanta. The views from the rooms and the infinity pools are great. Room amenities are top quality — a Bose speaker, delicious tea, great toiletries (shower gel perfect to organise yourself a bubble bath in the gorgeous bathtub. The restaurant food is excellent (though huge). Service seems a little frazzled, but that must be post-COVID adjustments as the resort was feeling pretty busy.

This place is amazing . The food is incredible. The breakfast is delightful. Dinner is pricey but worth it. But you can find cheaper options down the street or down the beach. We received an upgrade and our villa was fantastic. The only downside was rhe Muay Thai class. It wasn’t very good and wasn’t worth the money. Other than that 5 stars all around.

The most awesome stay I ever had! The service is excellent out from Krabi airport arrival to the day we left via flight. We are covered with complimentary services, relaxing stay, good food, great cocktails, nicest staff service, great spa! I fell in love and intend to make this my yearly spot!

Everything is so convenient during the stay. Requests and bookings via app. Staff is well attentive, all of them. Well priced. Private. Honeymooners should enjoy this place!

We were here to unwind from busy hectic city working life and we did. Love it. 4 days of stay, none of the day we really want to leave the resort 😂

Good for a couple or small group. Pool villa was very private. We found the actual accommodation better than the photos. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The Pimalai app made contacting guests services requesting services very easy and predictable. The gym was fantastic. The resort covers a hillside so you really need to use their transportation to get around the property. We had a great vacation. Thank you!

Due to current conditions, it’s understandable that amenities may not all be available. Next to post what is closed. This may be a factor when booking. Beautiful property, but 1/2 the restaurants as well as Dive Shop were closed. Also, do not think guests should be able to reserve seaside seating for the duration of their stay. Daily reservations are fair to all. Overall a pleasant stay, friendly staff.

Fantastic location as beach is beautifully clean and picturesque. Lots of friendly and attentive staff. Breakfast was great quality and lots of choice. There was lots of entertainment (paddle-boards, table tennis etc) all complimentary. Rooms are very good size and decor tastefully done. Very much appreciated staff bringing top ups of water when using sun loungers. Happy hour makes cocktails more reasonably priced and was a great way to watch the amazing sunsets. Few places things could be improved such as more sun loungers near lower pool needed. One evening it was difficult to get staffs attention during happy hour for cocktails. Overall highly recommended!

All I have to say is wow, and I cannot wait to go back. Thank you Pimalai for a super ridiculously relaxing start to our vacation. Please do not change a thing, it was wonderful. Breakfasts in the super peaceful outdoor restaurant seating with delicious French pastries, eggs any way you want them and ridiculous views. Even had soy milk (!) for those lactose intolerant folks around. Highly highly recommended.

I never write reviews but am compelled to do so here. Our stay at Pimalai was nothing short of perfect. This is THE place to stay on Koh Lanta. The grounds are absolutely stunning and climbing up to the top of the property to enjoy the restaurants, the amazing infinity pool and the stunning view over the ocean at sunset were the pinnacles of our stay. The staff was absolutely kind, loving and efficient. KAEW, our breakfast waitress daily, was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. The breakfast buffet and lunch at the restaurant Seven Seas and Banyan Tree were extremely well presented and delicious. The beachfront portion of the resort was also spectacular eventhough we didnt utilize it. The beach itself was idyllic. Pimalai is stunning. From the moment you get off the plane in Krabi, they make everything so seamless. The entire staff, no matter where you go on the property, is so friendly and helpful. The resort is breathtaking, with two infinity pools & a beautiful beach. The rooms are so nice as well & we went for our honeymoon and they decorated it & gave us champagne & cake and made us feel very special.

We were sad to leave the resort and those three because they really made it special. If you are coming to Thailand, treat yourself and book at few nights at the Pimalai. You won’t regret it!!

From the moment we were met at the airport by a member of staff and returned to the airport we were treated wonderfully.Our room was large and well appointed . The grounds were beautiful there were a lot of steps and slopes but we did not find this to be a problem, they had options for those that might have issues with the layout. The staff were really friendly , always a smile and a greeting. Food was great in all the restaurants we ate at which was all of them . Beach was very pretty and normally very quiet , often there was only a handful of us on it. Pool on lower section was lovely , always clean towels and kept us topped up with water and fresh fruits

Pimalai is indeed a piece of heaven on Earth. The resort is absolutely beautiful (esp. the gardens), the beach is fantastic - almost entirely sandy (also the seabed), the infinity pool in the top part of the resort is stunning. There are so many activities - from water sports to tennis, baseketball to even martial arts and yoga. The resort is peaceful and quiet. There is always place at the pool and beach, never running into other guests. Rooms are very nice, with huge bathtub. SPA is top notch, we enjoyed it a lot. Food is rather good too - especially breakfast. The restaurants are really good (especially Thai) though a bit pricey (Seven Seas). Only the beach restaurant is a bit disappointing (we ordered seafood once and it seemed only partially fresh, but the overall experience was still OK thanks to great deserts). Lastly, the level of service is definitely the best we have experienced anywhere it the world. Overall, truly a 5* resort, would recommend it to everyone and will definitely come back!

What a fabulous place in idyllic surroundings. The staff are fabulous and cannot do enough to help although English can be an issue at times. The spa was exceptional, I can highly recommend the signature couples treatment. The food was excellent and lovely choice of a range of Thai and western options. My husband and I spent a blissful week relaxing on the gorgeous beach and by our infinity pool. The dive centre was also excellent..one of the best I have experienced. We absolutely loved our stay at the Pimalai and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an escape.

We celebrated our anniversary in Pimalai. Thanks Pimalai for the surprises. They decorated the bed and prepared the cake for us. The people here are so welcoming and they keep smiling and greeting us. The location is a bit far from the Krabi center, but you will not regret to stay here. The beach outside the hotel is so clean. The barbecue dinner buffet is delicious. You can find beautiful sunset in the Seven Seas restaurant and of course don’t miss the spa.

Service overall is only ok.
We’ve ordered a king bed room and received 2 beds pushed together. We had a lizard stuck right above our heads and the hotel was not able to move it so they agreed on moving us to another room, only after we asked. On the new room, it was again 2 beds and also they gave us 2 single blankets and said they will replace it the morning after. It was never replaced, even after we asked a few times and asked for a king bed. Eventually we were just tired of asking and stayed with the 2 bed and 2 blankets. There are better hotels around at my opinion.

The complementary transfer to the hotel is a little long but very comfortable.

Room was amazing. Beautiful view. Just stunning. Unfortunately as we arrived to the hotel, we received a phone call about a family emergency and had to turn around and head home the next morning. The manager refunded us our unused stay without us even asking for a refund and they weren’t under any obligation either as Expedia clearly states the total amount is forfeit with cacellation. Very nice of them to do so. Will definitely come back and highly recommend to anyone looking for a romantic getaway.

Paradise mountainside/beach hotel

We are a young professional couple in our late 20’s. Overall, what an amazing experience we have had. The resort is the perfect retreat for relaxation. The service provided is second to none, with all staff going out of their way to do anything they can to help. When the weather is good, the resort really is a little patch of paradise.

We ate in each one of the resorts restaurants, I was impressed by all, however particular enjoyed “Tak Talay” which is located on the beach front. The resort is split in to two sections on a mountain side, the porters drive you between the facilities in each section in a golf cart. The sandy beach is large and relatively untouched, the “green season” arrived early (mid April) which meant the sea was slightly rougher than I would have liked and the weather very changeable. WhileI have been to nicer beaches (and you can visit more pristine visits on the island day trips) the beach has everything you need and was perfect for us. The infinity pool on the mountain side give you a breathtaking view of the coastline.

There are a number of activities arranged by the hotel including Thai cooking lessons, island excursions and the spa. It is worth noting that most of the activities require good weather.

You really are emerged into the surrounding jungle and as such shade it with the wildlife. Make sure you take your bug spray.

Overall, highly recommended.

1- The Hotel Design is just breath taking, the swimming pools are amazing, the view and everything is just awesome
2- The beach and the sea is great, white sandy and extremely clean
3- Paddling boards, catamaran and snorkeling equipment are provided to guests for free
4- Extremely big hotel, even though it was fully booked, you don't feel that the hotel is crowded, it's like we were a couple of guests in it.
5- Great to disconnect from everything and very relaxing
6- The breakfast buffet is great, and that was the only thing that we could eat at the hotel.
7- The staff very friendly and very helpful

CONS:
1- The tours to other islands that the hotel provide are very expensive
2- The food in all the hotel restaurant are very bad, they put weird spices that we didn't like at all
3- Sometime it's a challenge to communicate with the staff due to a lack of English, let's put this way, almost most of the staff does not know how to speak in English.
4- No shuttle that takes to the Ko Lanta downtown and the taxi are quite expensive

Overall, it's an amazing Hotel and we will be back for sure.

Double Wow!

This is a high quality, luxury resort with fantastic rooms and facilities along with incredibly attentive staff. The location is breath-taking and the facilities second to none. We booked the three bedroom villa with pool and had the most relaxing and fabulous family holiday. We wouldn't hesitate to return.

Wonderful luxury hotel

We have just had a really wonderful week at this amazing resort. To get to the resort from Krabi airport is an hour car ride followed by a fabulous 50 min boat ride. Staff were all so friendly and helpful, breakfast buffet fantastic and they catered for my daughter's food intolerances brilliantly. Location of hotel stunning on private beach and only 10-15 min walk to local (small) town. We had a 2 bed hillside pool villa which was very roomy and private. 2nd bedroom set below main bedroom down external steps so perhaps not best choice if have small children but perfect for us with teenagers. Hillside villas are tucked into a beautifully kept hilly rainforest and transport round resort to beach / jetty / restaurants / lobby provided by buggies at all times so not an issue. Did 2 snorkelling trips which were amazing - chargable but worth it. Tried to go to free massage class but was booked up - if you are interested in learning such techniques perhaps book before you go as only 4 spaces on each class and only run once a week. Free watersports included laser and hobiecat as well as paddle boards. 2 main hotel pools stunning and have great service there. Only 3 restaurants so if staying longer you may want to venture out, but villa had kitchen so could get own supplies and self cater a few meals if wanted to. Travelled in late March and was hot so pools and AC very welcome. Thoroughly recommend and hope to return.

Island Paradise

From the moment we arrived the staff and service were amazing. First off all the staff was always friendly and helpful. They would do about anything to make your stay more enjoyable. The setting was absolutely stunning from the beach to the infinity pools. We are at all four restaurants and the food was delicious. Especially the Thai dishes. We recommended Scubafish diving that is connected to the report. They provide a great diving experience. Finally, the free speedboat to and from the resort makes it a priceless experience

Fantastic hotel, beautiful views

Pimalai is a wonderful hotel, it never felt too busy and everyone helps with a smile. It’s set amongst nature and has a very special atmosphere with the sounds of the jungle!

The only small gripe was the very few occasions groups of noisy children were in the pool; disrupting the peaceful holiday I had planned. This only happened a few times however.

Stunning views of ocean, jungle, sunset from pools and beaches.
Excellent breakfast included with the stay and amazing transport service to and from airport which is included.
Restaurants were good but expensive (which is expected at a fancy resort like this) service was quite slow.
Beautiful place - once in a lifetime stay for us! Would have cost 3rimes as much to get a room at a place like this in North America

FRANK AND HIS TEAM...KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING..iTS ABOUT THERE CLIENTS..GREAT RESORT WITH DIFFERENT ASPECTS..IT almost has it all for me..except black pepper grinders on the table and the beach Brekky needs refreshing..to be more like the hill side villas..Its 2 resorts in one really...The new beach club restaurant is a knock out...The gym is good...So
are the swimming pools...especially the villla s common area...Its a wow...Frank please finish the building there..As for there spa area..amazing
Honestly its a great resort..A touch rustic...but 5 star without to much ceremony....Understated i would say...There tours were of a very high standard...Even your return to the mainland has a small tour built in...Frank thanks for a great time and the cigarette

A small paradise nested in the jungle

We stayed 8 nights at Pimalai and had a wonderful time. The resort blends harmoniously into the forest/garden and each bungalow is well hidden by the vegetation which offers a lot of privacy. The trees are beautiful and the garden is full of flowers and fruits, which attract birds, squirrels, monkeys and langurs. The view over the bay is wonderful. The beach is beautiful and one should not miss the opportunity to explore other islands by boat and snorkel there among corals and tropical fishes of all kind and colours. Each bungalow is spacious, elegantly designed and furnished, well equipped and very clean. The staff is quite friendly, helpful and efficient. There are 3 restaurants which provides excellent food, be it asian, Thai or western. All in all, this is a wonderful place to hide away and relax in peace.

We love Pimalai!

From the time we arrived to the time we left, Pimalai continued to impress us. The grounds were well maintained and beautiful. Facilities were numerous. We truly felt as if we never had to leave. The food was very good, and the service was impeccable. We rented a two-bedroom pool villa and the view was incredible. I would highly recommend upgrading to one of the hillside villas. We participated in Muay Thai boxing (Boy was a great instructor), the Thai cooking school (the chef, Man was fantastic and went out of his way to find a mortar and pestle for me to bring home), rented SUP's and kayaks, and enjoyed all the beautiful pools. A visit to the Pimalai Resort is truly a treat for people of all ages. It never felt crowded and was very comfortable. If you are thinking about staying here, don't hesitate. Book it. You won't regret it!

Great Ko Lanta experience

Great location.
The transfer from Krabi is a bit long (boat is noisy) but it is worth it. The hotel is extremely quiet. There are few things to do around. The hotel propose a good range of excursions. Excellent for a week.

Amazing view.
From the pools to the restaurants and the villas: amazing views on the bay.

Great food.
All the restaurant are very good. But the main restaurant is really great. We ate there most of the night.

Great service.
People are always ready to help you. They remember your name and your preference.

Few less positive points:
The resort is big. If you have a villa far from restaurant/pool, you always need to call for a car.
The gym is outdated.
The spa area is nice but to close to the road. Too bad.

Would go back to Pimalai in a heart beat.

Nothing short of amazing !

Five stars in every single aspect. Surpassed our high expectations of the resort. We went to other areas of the island and NOTHING compared. Sunset happy hour was a personal favorite. Our only regret is not booking longer. We WIlLL be back and recommend to any and all!

Fabulous hotel in peaceful surroundings

It is one of the best beach hotels in SE Asia - at east this our view. The hotel is attractively laid out over a large area from the beach into the hills and blends perfectly with the surrounding trees etc. We spoiled ourselves with a hillside villa with a private pool and weren't disappointed. The room was superb with acres of space and the pool was large by any standard. It is a steep uphill walk from the beach to the room and not really suitable for anyone with disabilities although the hotel runs a buggy on demand.

The restaurants are varied in style but the food in each is excellent albeit quite expensive. Wine is extremely expensive but this is due to Thai taxation rather than the hotel's greed.

Above all, the hotel staff are quite simply the most naturally charming that we have ever come across. The standard of service is high but it never ending supply of smiling staff that really makes the difference.
