Great choice!

The room and all spaces I passed by were very clean. I liked the idea of not wasting water and not changing towels so often. The spa was amazing. It was a very relaxing stay. The hotel has a luxurious feel, like more than 3 stars. I definitely recommend people to go above all for the spa. It is totally worth it. And have breakfast at the hotel. So many tasty choices.

Cosy and quiet place

Great and very quiet place with a lot of history. Had a small room with nice amenities. Some of the furniture is a bit worn out, but everything is clean. Also the hotel is quite cheap. Wifi was extremely slow though.

Pool great, lovely relaxed vibe, me and my two young sins 13 and 15 just used it as a base, and location with hire car perfect for exploring the costs brava, would come back if the world wasn't so big!

A very rare find

It would be difficult to find fault with this hotel especially at its price range. The staff could not have been more helpful and the cleanliness, spaciousness and location of this place made it a really star find. For travel in any direction its location to the railway station makes it easily walkable with a good selection of trains with cheap fares (we even went over to France). The breakfast was excellent as was the waitress who seved us most mornings. A pleasure to recommend it.

Wonderful find!

We enjoyed our stay at the Balneari Vichy Catalan. We rented a car from the Gerona airport and stayed at this hotel while we made side trips up the coast. A lovely building that looks like a castle, with high ceilings and beautiful grounds. The rooms were comfortable, the pool was lovely, the breakfast was good, the parking free.

The hotel looks very impressive. It is getting a bit tired in places. We felt like we were in a geriatric residence - full of old people. The location was however convenient for a visit to Girona by train. There are a few interesting sites in the town such as the Arab baths

Vichy Catalan - A traditional hotel/spa experience

The Vichy Catalan appeared to be a grand hotel somewhat past its glory days. That is not to say that we did not enjoy our time there and the spa experience. It was is simply an older hotel that had not been redesigned in some time. The spa had many old-fashioned features in it; if you are expecting a sleek, modern spa with updated amenities you will be dissapointed. If you expect a good basic spa with older features but good options for massages/treatments you will be happy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We did not eat at the restaurant other then the breakfasts, which were fine. I would recommend the stay.

Hotel is a spa. Rooms were clean but without ventilation they were hot and stuffy. The restaurant was very good and the manager was very helpful and attentive. Food was excellant and prices very fair.

Great end to our vacation

We didn't really know what to expect but when we saw the outside of the hotel and the grounds we were immediately impressed. There really is the feel of a 19th century spa hotel but with 21st century conveniences. It was a delight to stay at the Balneari Vichy Catalan. We extended our stay from 2 to 3 days.

Fatal, la habitacion olia a humedad, el parquet estava hinchado como si se huviera inundado la habitacion en algun momento y en mal estado, igual que la puerta del baño que no cerrava.
La terraza disponia de un jakuzzi privado, la parte de la terraza da a la calle asi que nos podia ver cualquiera que pasara por alli, ademas unos clientes del hotel se pusieron a hacer fotografias al hotel y a nuestra terraza, 0 privacidad.

A la hora de la cena, aunque hemos reservado con antelacio, no nos tenian apuntados. Cuando ya teniamos la mesa, no nos pusieron la lamparita que tenian todos los otros comensales, es un detalle pequeño pero nos hubiera gustado que la tuvieramos tambien porque la mesa de al lado nuestro que vino mas tarde si que la tenia. Ademas pedimos pan y no nos lo han traido. Un poco decepcionante.

El Spa lleno de gente, no se podia relajar nadie.

En el desayuno no nos recibio nadie, estuvimos un rato esperando hasta que nos marcamos nosotros mismos la habitacion en la hoja de clientes.

No volveremos sin duda.

Para ser un balneario el estado de la zona termal está bastante deteriorada y escasa además de que creo que debería estar incluido en la estancia el acceso con horario a la misma, también deberían controlar la entrada de menores en las saunas, las duchas de agua fría herían de agua a temperatura ambiente, por lo demás todo bien, personal, restaurante, piscina exterior, etc.

No esperes a Halloween para tener un día terrible. Este es tu hotel. Habitación mini con un baño minúsculo. Desde las 6:30 de la mañana ruido de camiones y pi pi del toro mecánico para transportar el agua de la fábrica. Circuito termal con corriente de frío en una de las piscinas, para poner a prueba el sistema inmunitario. Eso sí por el módico precio de 300 euros.

Sehr schönes altes stilvolles Hotel mit hohen Decken und Türen. Das Zimmer war komfortabel und mt Minikühlschrank. Das Frühstücksbuffet war super. Kostenlose Parkplätze auf dem Gelände und einen Pool und eine Spa (separat zu bezahlen) gab es auch.

Avec mon épouse on’a pris un circuit thermal, la réception du SPA nous nous a pas prévenue que le sauna humide ne marchait pas et il y’avait un courant d’air froid au niveau de la première piscine.En plus on’a payé le prix fort.il aurait pu faire un effort vu que le sauna humide ne marchait pas.On’est des habitués et c’est la première fois qu’on était déçu.

Worn down hotel with awful dinner buffet.

The service was ok, and the room was also ok. Quite comfortable beds.

One can tell it used to be a grand hotel, but sadly no more. It is now quite bad worn down and badly maintained. Outside the green areas have grown weed, the boule fields are completely overgrown, as the playground, and the parking lot has a lot of dried debris from the trees.

But what makes me put only one star in my rating = very bad, is the food. I've had some really bad buffets in my day, but this one takes the prize. It must be some kind of joke. Burnt noodels in soy sauce, dry fish, macaroni with a poorly executed meat sauce, minced meat patties that was rock hard and poorly seasoned. To top this the salad buffet, apart from some ruccola leaves, only consisted of pickled vegetables withe a dead fly floating around. Pretty discusting.

The breakfast however was really decent.

Nos ha gustado mucho el alojamiento y la piscina exterior. Como única pega el check-in es a las 16:00 y podría ser un poco antes. El acceso al balneario hay que pagarlo a parte. Muy buen desayuno.

Balneario de aguas termales. Ubicado en un espléndido edificio Modernista. Cerca se hallan los restos de unas termas romanas.
A unos 25 kms de la ciudad de Gerona, con lo cual puedes completar tu visita.

Bij het inchecken bleek onze boeking niet te bestaan. Vervolgens werd er wel alles aan gedaan om ons toch de gewenste kamer te geven ondanks dat het personeel slecht engels sprak. Het is een prachtige lokatie en heerlijk rustig. De kamer was netjes en schoon. De badkamer was verouderd en de douchekop was hard aan vervanging toe. De haren wassen was geen optie. Wel een prachtig zwembad en een goed ontbijt.

O hotel é bem localizado para quem quer usar esta cidade como base para conhecer a região da Catalunha. O atendimento é muito bom, assim como café da manhã, porém o acesso à internet através do Wi-fi é horrível.

Kamer 105 is veel te klein voor 2 personen je kan geen raampje open zetten.je kijkt op een binnen plaats met alle airco's en motors van machine's.De hele nacht wakker gelegen van benauwdheid en herrie.Kijk eerst welke kamer je krijgt.Personeel begrijpt weinig.Receptie spreekt slecht of nauwelijks Engels.Op heen reis prima kamer terugreis drama.

viven del nombre

es un balneario que vive gracias a su nombre, la habitación estándar da a la zona de maquinas del spa por lo que tienes ruido todo el día de 8 de la mañana a 10 de la noche, no puedes abrir la ventana ya que ademas es zona de paso con carritos de la ropa sucia, el spa faltaban luces y no desaguaba bien por lo que por el pasillo estaba lleno de agua, la piscina exterior sucia en el fondo y en la parte de arriba hacia unas placas de hierro oxidado, por lo que mejor no ir descalzo, total viven del nombre en general muy viejo todo.

Hotel bonito cerca del pueblo

Para lo grande que es el hotel,tiene un area termal pequeña para la cantidad de gente que va.
La habitación,supongo que por ir con una oferta,era pequeña,con vistas al patio interior de los aparatos de aire acondicionado y camas diminutas para una pareja.Además que el sabado por la tarde tuvimos que vivir una situación muy desagradable con la huesped de la habitación de al lado,con llantos,gritos y portazos.
Además,que dejen de entrar a menores al spa no me parece bien,es un balneario,no un chiqui parck.

Très bon séjour , nous connaissions l'établissement pour y avoir séjourné l'année précédente. le buffet du déjeuner était un peu moins garni mais reste excellent.
Seul bémol;mon fils à oublié deux jouets-figurines dans la chambre de l’hôtel et nous avons essayé de contacter l'établissement à plusieurs reprises pour voir si il y avait moyen de repasser pour les récupérer et il n'y a jamais eu de réponse! Mon fils (qui tenait beaucoup à ces jouets) en a été très triste.

Stilvolles Hotel abseits der Tourizentren

Wir waren im August mit der Familie da, also 2 Erw und 2 Kids.

Das Hotel ist tadellos und überzeugt durch professionellen Service. Der Hauch vergangener Tage rundet den Aufenthalt in dem schlossartigen Gebäude ab. Hat etwas von einem Fellini-Film.

Frühstück (sehr gut) hatten wir im Hotel, Abendessen auswärts, und zwar entweder in der Bar Casa Rosa (sehr günstig und ursprünglich) oder im Ca la Manela (etwas gehobener).
