I was upgraded to the loft style which was much bigger than the standard.
I enjoyed my stay here. Definitely was close in proximity to everything! I will admit the wifi was the worst part of my trip. I was rarely in my room but when I was it was very spotty. The gym..unfortunately was a disappointment also. I made the best of it.

In today’s world reliable WiFi is essential for urban hotels. Urbano Hotel never managed to supply that in the five days total I have stayed here this month. They have made numerous excuses and promises but never delivered anything other than occasional periods of WiFi coverage. If they could simply master that challenge I could stay here again, but as it has been throughout 2 stays this month, I have to say never again.

The superior (larger) room was worth the money--a better value than other hotels I've used nearby. Although kitchenette was limited, everything was in good condition, including the bathroom. Staff was helpful carrying bags (there being no lift) to top floor & back.

This was my third stay and I loved it as usual. My room attendant, Retha, was fabulous. What a wonderful young lady. The entire staff was wonderful as I know all of them at this point. My stay was marred by my neighbor smoking in a non smoking hotel. I conveyed this to the front desk, but it persisted. So the first floor of my room was smoky every time I came in from a day out, because electricity is turned off when you leave via their system.
After this third visit I was bothered by something that I wasn’t the first two times. It is that the windows are not up to US standards. You can hear everything through these windows, every horn, every syllable of a street conversation, etc.
But this hotel is in a great location, near a ton of places to dine, shop for groceries, clothes, street vendors, and night entertainment. I loved the gym as well. I will be back in 6 months.

There was a musty, mouldy smell in the room and bathroom (drain). Not sure if it was in the walls or drain or both. The water in the shower didn’t go down the drain either. Just swam and rose up my feet. You are charging a lot of money for that shoebox of a single room I stayed in. At least renovate and make it up to standard. Not okay. Do better.

The room was clean and the staff were very courteous but the room lack basic amenities like iron and ironing board ( even though I requested for one I never got it ) Also the bath towels were very worn out and there was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom .

Clean rooms with good air conditioning and hot water. Rooms very small and could use an iron and full length mirror. The gym was a joke with mostly broken machines, which is why I chose this spot. They accommodated us at another hotel for one night when power outage was extensive. Friendly staff, especially Michael who was very helpful. I felt safe with security always on guard. Great location if you want to mix it up with the locals.

I stayed in a single room, small and functional, but disappointed there was no kettle. Expedia shows rooms have a kettle. Stayed in a different room as part of a group tour after this stay and it had a kettle. Airport transfer was excellent. My bag took a long time to arrive but the driver waited. Breakfast not included, it was offered to me for $15.00, expensive in my opinion. Good stay overall.

The tv was outdated. We did not even watch it because of poor connection and quality of picture. No elevator. We smelled cigarette smoke in the hallways strongly as we were walking through the hallways to our room. They overcharge for a mini bar option they have there in dollars instead of cedis. For 7 bottles of water small sizes and medium, 2 sodas cans, a small box of biscuits, and a small package of Nescafé coffee and a small package of sugar were $192 cedis. That’s ridiculous for the price of the room and they charge you for coffee & it’s in an instant package. Some staff were friendly not all. Security guard was sleeping on the job. I would not ever booked there again.

The manager and Benjamin were especially helpful. The room was always clean and the breakfast substantial. Benjamin always arranged taxis for me to museums, art centres etc. The manager offered me a complimentary breakfast when $100 US was missing, perhaps my mistake when I paid with 4 50s for breakfast or perhaps mistook 2 US 50s for cedis there or at museums. I would have liked coffee and tea service in the room and a hairdryer, but managed without. Had staff known where I could buy postcards I would have saved 100 Verdi’s in taxis. Luckily we found them behind the post office when I suggested we just go to

I find it little ironic that I am asked to review the hotel that booked my room to guests with extended stay and put me in another hotel. The other hotel was ok, but I booked Urbano WEEKS ago and this is where I wanted to stay. I was very excited to stay at a hotel that looked really cool and funky, and even sent few other people there that were in Accra before me. I am deeply disappointed that my reservation was booked to someone else and the hotel decided to turn me down without my choice or any prior communication. When I arrived, they just sent me off to another hotel (walking distance). Again, the other hotel (Roots) was ok, but that is NOT what I booked and where I wanted to stay.

The room was clean and comfortable , Wi-Fi was stable and the security/porters / cleaners were all nice and polite guys too. I liked the property but they nickel and dimed me. The Expedia app has no price change from one guest to two guests. Yet if you show up with your wife, like I did, I was charged an extra $70. And after spending a week there and paying for my mini bar items, $8, a clerk ran and got me out of the airport shuttle to make sure I paid for the extra Fanta from the night before. As for the airport shuttle, I’ve never been asked to pay for one at any hotel. I was told it was free only one way. So since I took it from the airport, I had to pay $8 to get to the airport. Lastly I went 7 days without a hot shower in Rm 222 and endured a barking dog in Rm 223 for the duration of my trip.
The area felt safe but I couldn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted to. The vendors and the beggar’s aggressively singled out the one American in my group, me.
Overall a nice hotel, recently built, good security team, friendly staff, and located in the heart of everything.

We were given a room different from what we originally booked, and it was clearly too small for two grown women. Despite this, we managed to make it work. The location is fantastic, and the staff were friendly, although there were moments when service could be improved. Overall, a decent stay, but the room size and booking accuracy could use some attention.

Nice location on the busiest street in Accra but the acoustics were very bad with a lot of noise outside and from reception. Staff were a little indifferent and it was expensive for Ghana.

This property was literally centrally located, like right in the middle of fine dining and street food, shopping on the street or in shops, transportation and you even have a “7/11” directly across the street! The staff was very helpful and my room was tiny, but clean. The small was big enough for a single person. I would stay there again.

1. Debit Card left with staff accidentally and no one contacted me; it was upon my discovery that I found it was missing and had to reach out to hote.
2. Security allowed a local into the building. He joined me in the elevator; got off my floor and pushed for my contact information. I felt very unsafe.
3. Items removed from room at time of cleaning and never contacted me. I called hotel; went to retrieve items and staff could not retrieve. No one knew where it was. I waited until the next day; had to contact hotel AGAIN. I was then inconvenienced to return to said hotel after moving to a new place. I asked them to deliver after all my concerns and they refused.
I reported all of this to the manager. Her facial expression never changed when explaining it all and she simply said \"sorry\". It was very unapologetic. I then asked to be contacted and the same manager simply sent me a text saying again \"sorry\". No accountability; no consequence, no refund, no offer for additional stay, wouldn't even deliver items that they were clearly trying to keep.

The property was super convenient even though the ladies of the evening were all over Oxford St. Stuff was super pleasant and acomodating, facility was super clean, loved my room... areas of imporovement for me was to vend espresso coffee as it is hard to find strong coffee in Accra. Last but not least, I rated the hotel one less start due to an evening where the power in my room kept going out where the stuff finally allowed me to spend the night in a different room which disturbed my sleep. I will strongly suggest for others to stay at Urbano and plan to stay there again should I visit Accra again.

DO NOT BOOK OR STAY HERE! I was mis-sold a Duplex room which was meant to have 1 x Queen bed and 1 x Double Sofa bed, upon arrival the \"welcome\" was abrupt, rude and she could not have been less enthusiastic.
The room has been changed compared to their photos online and as you can see from my photos the sofa bed is no longer there, it is literally just a sofa, which you can't sleep on.

- Bathroom window was broken and could not be closed meaning the temperature was 35 degrees
- Bedroom windows were not soundproofed and being on Oxford Street you can hear EVERYTHING so good luck if you'd like to sleep
- The hotel is directly underneath the flight path of the nearby airport which was very loud due to the issue with no soundproofing
The most shocking thing is that nobody, not one review so far seems to mention that this place is in the middle of a red-light district. When you leave the hotel door you'll approached by MANY prostitutes, hawkers and beggars who will follow you and demand money without taking no for an answer.

Everyone at Urbano provided exceptional customer service. I received a warm welcome upon my arrival. Offered a glass of a traditional Ghana drink which was very tasty. My room was lovely. The shower water flow was excellent. I loved the room decor! On my return to Ghan I will definitely be staying at Urbano!

Generally, my experience at Urbano was great other than issues with my room not being ready on my first night meaning I needed to be place in an upgraded room and move the next day. Had the upgraded room been well maintained, with a working a/c this would’ve been great, but there were definitely visible signs of age and wear reducing the cleanliness feel. However, one I was given my actual room the space and maintenance was great, breakfast had good options, staff were friendly. Two issues here was the lack of standard drink options e.g., malt and coke at the bar and that without the a/c you could smell the rodent that had did in the ceiling.

Room light was pathetic, quite dark and dismal. Electrical sockets were not working properly the first day but the staff took care of it the next day. Room is quite small and claustrophobic. Service / Staff is reasonable and make up for the negatives in a way. Also, the location is fantastic.

Booked this for a quick weekend trip with a friend. The room was small (pretty much just beds bathroom) but very clean—exactly what we needed! I loved having access to a gym. The staff were also very responsive to our needs and even switched us to an open 2-bed room when we arrived, as we had originally only been able to book a single queen through Expedia. Overall, it's not the type of room to lounge in given the size, but it did the trick for us and felt safe and clean. Definitely would recommend!
