This hotel was very nice. The area was prime and there were really nice markets as well as restaurants in walking distance. Derek (our butler) as well as the other staff we came in contact with were great and very accommodating. They made sure we were safe and had someone with us when we walked or went to the night market. They even walked us to restaurants at night. Poolside and the lobby areas were very comfortable. My only gripes are that the street traffic/noise was really loud so take ear plugs. Also, be prepared to spend money like you would at a hotel in the states. I purchased a tipalia, jollof, and a drink and my total came to $60 something dollars. Overall I had a good experience and would consider booking again.

Everyone was so kind. I’m giving 4 stars cause we had daily issues with our key. The staff had to repeatedly program it because of the issue with our door. Also the tv would randomly shut on and off even though it wasn’t on a timer. Other than that everything was wonderful.

Room was unclean, DO NOT believe the TikTok hype. The sink stunk and they couldn’t do anything about it apart from spraying the room. Bathroom toilet wasn’t clean, kitchen sink wasn’t clean and neither was the room. Only thing done was the bed lol. They also stole my Pandora ring since they conveniently can’t find it!!! ALSO, don’t bother paying deposit with a debit card because it takes ONE MONTH to get it back.

Great stay ! Aside from the additional fee charged for 2nd guest . It was accidentally left off the reservation which if it was added wouldn’t have increased the price but at the hotel they charged an additional fee.

The staff are very friendly so I almost feel bad writing this review, but people need to know what they are in for if they choose to stay here. The property has definitely been neglected from the pool to the room (banged up, stained furniture, stained/worn rugs, flooding everytime you shower), to the mildew smelling hallways. You say a little prayer everytime you get into the elevator as there is no ventilation and it is TINY! The breakfast was shocking . . . It was a half empty buffet and the food that remained was not breakfast, e.g. spinach stew and yams. And be forewarned, there is no restaurant service after breakfast, you will have to go off property which was very inconvenient. There is no poolside service. And forget about getting any sleep as the location is in a very busy area, amplified by the holiday celebrations and all night parties. I have no idea how this place has a five star rating. It absolutely does not live up to Nana Kwame \"Cheddar\" Bediako's brand. We were so excited about this hotel, but were grateful when it was time to check out.

We had a wonderful stay at No. 1 Oxford Street. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, it is decorated luxuriously and exceeded expectation. Our suite was excellent, loved everything about it. It was great to be able to relax on the balcony as well as having an excellent street view, also loved that we could hear music playing - thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were friendly, polite and provided an excellent service. I requested for our suite to be decorated with ballons for my husband's 60th birthday - Jessica did a fabulous job, so so lovely - it cost but was worth it! The 90 mins massage that we had was devine. We would definately stay here again if we're in Accra. Thank you to all the staff - sending special shout outs to Bismark, Clara, Daniel, Francisca, Jessica, Melanie, Michael, Perpetual, Sarah and the Security guys💯

1. Front Desk Staff is arrogant or grumpy!
2. Please do not book breakfast with them. They have absolutely nothing except some sausages and few breads! There is one indian chef who was kind enough to ask if he can help with something. Atleast he tried.
3. Rooms are way too shiny (not a type I prefer for official visit)
4. No place to sit and work on laptop (a very basics needed with a plug point)

The microwave in my room was non-functional. Additionally, the staff displayed a lack of attentiveness, appearing primarily focused on charging $50 for any guests visiting my room. There were several issues during my stay, including power outages and water supply disruptions. Furthermore, the air conditioning unit in the master bedroom was not operational. The staff entered my room multiple times without permission, opening the door without prior notification. Overalll .beautiful property but the stuff needs a lot of training on customer service.

Beautiful location...not far from the popular Frankie's restaurant. Clean and fully furnished rooms with sitting area, dining area and full kitchen. Friendly staff too.

Only drawbacks were the bed was too close to the wall and the noise from the road which was a disturbance, particularly at night.

We are so happy with our week long stay at the Number One Oxford Street Hotel. It begin with the staff going above and beyond to extend a welcome to us as we traveled from the US for our first trip to Ghana. From the beautifully decorated hotel, to the super nice and helpful staff, to the spacious and grandiose rooms this hotel was more than expected. We were also in a great location and the surrounding area was safe and walkable. The daily breakfast buffet was amazing as well. The pool area looked great but we did not have a chance to visit. I cannot recommend this hotel enough! We would definitely stay here again.

Where Potential meets reality

Located in Accra’s vibrant Osu district, Number One Oxford Street Hotel & Suites has the potential to be a standout destination. My four-night stay, however, revealed a gap between its promise of luxury and the reality.

The highlight of my stay was the exceptional service from my butler, Bismarck. His attentiveness and problem-solving elevated the experience. From arranging an external spa therapist when in-house services were unavailable to anticipating our needs, he was a shining star. Unfortunately, even his efforts couldn’t mask the hotel’s broader flaws.

Cleanliness was a recurring issue. A lizard was left unattended by housekeeping, and worn towels arrived late despite repeated requests. These lapses undermined trust in the hotel’s standards.

The pool, though serene, was surprisingly small for a luxury property. The bathroom design also frustrated—forcing guests to step into scalding water to adjust the temperature.

Breakfast, in contrast, was a bright spot. A blend of continental staples and flavorful Ghanaian dishes, like a spicy tomato-based stew, reflected the care missing elsewhere.

Confusion over outdated spa pricing further soured the experience. A listed 380 GHS massage was charged at 800 GHS, a clear issue in transparency.

The location and staff were highlights, but operational issues hinder the hotel’s ability to justify its luxury positioning.

Initially happy as compared to other hotel we stayed in until the loud noise on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. You are in the center of the city with clubs. They state windows are sound proof but they aren’t. No accommodations for this. The party continues until 3-4 am. Water shut off for about 15-20 min. Lastly sewage leaked up into our bathroom and in the hallway and ruined some of our clothing. No accommodations when asked except for $87 off. Room was 625 USD per night.

The pool area is really nice, and the gym is really well equipped for a hotel gym. The staff were also all very nice, and the food was good (though wait times were slow, we waited over an hour for two club sandwiches when we were the only people at the pool area).

The issue we had was that the room smelled really bad of mould, as did the corridors on the 8th floor. And overall the place needs to be maintained better. The tap in the kitchen was rusty and paint flaking off, there were cracks around the aircon vents. There were marks from years of wear & tear on the kitchen cupboards. The wallpaper was peeling off in the bedrooms. I think the place could do with a refresh, redecorate them, add more ventilation in the rooms to stop the mould.

This hotel walks the talk. It is truly \"The Number One\". Good location, friendly and helpful stuff, hotel is clean at all times, quiet, all amenities works. I felt safe at all times. Beautiful view. Beautiful hotel inside and out. The attention to details is wow. Meals were good. Any hotel less than the standard of \"The Number One Oxford Street\" is currently now a problem for me. I will always come back and I will always recomend this hotel. Enjoyed staying at this hotel, I was in Ghana for a lovely two week cultural experience and traveled to different areas throughout the stay.

In the last 4 nights I decided to stay here to enjoy a bit of luxury. The staff were all pleasant and helpful, very accommodating. I felt safe and comfortable which is important to me as I travels as a single female.

I enjoyed the buffet breakfast and dinner choices. The butler service was also excellent. I also had a massage on my last day.

Thanks to the staff for making the ending to such an extraordinary trip in Ghana so relaxing.

This property was the last hotel my family and I stayed in on our 11 day trip to Accra Ghana.
I wish I would’ve booked for at least 1 week to enjoy all the amenities they offer. The rooms are equipped with a full siz refrigerator. Four burners and a mini oven.

I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the comfort, cleanliness and hospitality they offer.
The overall design of the Hotel is beautiful! The pool with the cabanas felt relaxing. The breakfast was delicious. This hotel is a short walk to the local market and fruit stands and the ShopRite grocery store is in the mall just up the street.
