Check in was super easy, and the directions given to guide us to reception & to the guesthouse were very helpful to have.

A spacious room with a little seating area and a large bathroom. There is no fridge in the room itself, but there is a large shared kitchen in the building that you can put your things in and hang out with some other guests who are travelling the country. We had a comfortable stay here!

This turned out to be one of our best days. We did a very basic room with a shared bath, which I was nervous about, but I have to stay everything was clean. We never had to wait for the bathroom. Parking was easy and never a problem.
The morning breakfast was fantastic. I could not have asked for anything better. There was fresh fruit, lovely meats, and cheese, different yogurt, and bread and a wonderful station to make your own waffles. The only thing that was even slightly negative is our second morning there we came out of our room for breakfast and it was already packed up. They said that they sent out an email to see who wanted breakfast but I never received that email, so that was kind of disappointing.

We stayed at Farmhouse Lodge’s Chicken house for 2 days before Christmas and absolutely loved it. The Chicken house has everything- fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and bathroom. The location is wonderful since you can go and see several waterfalls and black sands beaches near by. Highly recommend to anyone who likes to explore that area of Iceland.

This place is ok for a quick turnaround. We had the best and biggest room but the Farmhouse also offers “glamping” tents and the bathroom for all guests was neat to our room which is kind of silly. Very noisy.
It’s near Vic and great sights but I wouldn’t stay here again.

Beautiful setting! Lovely people. Exactly where we wanted to be to tour the area. Very clean. (Shower wet the whole bathroom floor when used and became slippery. There was a squeegee to use that helped.) The beds were comfortable. I would stay again.

2 nights near Vik

Convenient location right on Highway 1 near Vik, perfect for stargazing and aurora watching on dark nights. We stayed 2 nights in room #8 in the basement. It was a very small room but had a private washroom. However, the shower curtain kept falling off. One side window had no blinds, so we were disturbed by headlights whenever cars pulled up in front of the reception.

I loved this property. We had a private room. The area is dark enough to see northern lights if theyre out. The also keep coffe and tea in the main room and there was delicious cookies as well. It was an amazing little pick me up after going out into the cold. I would definitely stay here again.

Such a great stay. Friendly staff. Helped offer dinner suggestions in Vik. Very accommodating and safe there. Breakfast was offered in the morning and smelled amazing but we chose to cook our own food in the shared kitchen. It was very clean and had I known it was so nice, I would’ve cooked dinner there as well. 10/10 recommend.

The location is great and very close to Vik and surrounding hikes. I just don't feel like the listing is accurate to what you are actually getting. If you get a room with a \"shared\" bathroom-- there is only one bathroom total for all of the shared rooms on 2 floors. So you aren't able to wash your hands, use the restroom, or shower if one other person is using it. In addition, unlike a hotel room or hostel, you have no access to a fridge, sink, or anything to cook with. There is a kitchen upstairs and breakfast is offered (for extra money), but you are not allowed to use this kitchen area at all. I imagine the rooms and accommodations with private bathrooms and private spaces may be better, but the shared accommodations really are not worth it.

The value of this property was way overpriced. The rooms were very small, towels and bedding were sub standard and no one told us you had to request service in order to get fresh towels. After being out all day we came back to a room that was not serviced. Breakfast not included and the “gathering space” in the separate building was dirty and unwelcoming.

The room and property were perfect and the staff was very nice. I highly recommend in all those areas. The main issue was the noise. My room was next to reception and the breakfast area. The breakfast prep starting a 6:20 was incredibly loud which made it impossible to sleep past that time. You hear conversations, check ins, front door closing, dishes and cabinets slamming. I think if you had any other room on the property you would probably have an amazing stay.

The location cannot be beat! It is in a perfect location to tour the South Coast. The bed was comfortable, and I slept well. A few things of note, where they have the pull for the blinds is in a difficult spot to reach. Also, the one bathroom is a REAL issue. They need some rules around that bathroom. One couple decided to wash about 8 garments in the sink while people were waiting to use the bathroom. Washing out several articles of clothes right before most people are going to bed around 9-10 pm should not be allowed. Leaving wet clothes in the shower of a shared bathroom should not be allowed. Again, the location is fantastic, but they either need a second bathroom or some kind of signup system or something related to bathroom use.

Really cool vibes. Quiet and easy to find (there's not much else around). Just outside Vik, and a short drive to beaches or the town. Rooms are cozy and well decorated, and there was a lot of well designed common space.

Most expensive hotel ever, listed at $325 one night, and charged $355--and then had to buy breakfast! We got this reservation 2 months ago, perhaps 3 months. We know it was late, but Hotels.co ... never use you again.

This was the best part of my trip; tiny little clean cottage with a barn. My kids loved it and it was very clean. Barn gave us the opportunity to hang out, cook, play, eat and meet other travelers. I would definitely come back here

The Farmhouse Lodge was the perfect stay for us. Conveniently located for all of the tourist places we were visiting. The staff was very friendly and super accommodating. Easy check in, very clean, and super cool rainfall showers! Great views of the beautiful scenery. Our only regret is not taking them up on what looked to be a fantastic breakfast in the morning!

We wanted to express our appreciation for the unique charm of your property! Our room, with its 4 beds and cozy kitchen, was a delight. We did encounter a few issues, such as the initial internet connectivity problem, which your team promptly fixed. Additionally, the room door didn't lock, but we didn't mind too much. However, it's something you might want to address for future guests.

We loved the peacefulness of the area, which was a welcome respite. Our only suggestion would be to expand the vegetarian food options.

This place is NOTHING like the pictures! They might have 2 or 3 remodeled rooms in the new building but the majority of guests like us stay in either a basement room or a converted chicken coop! No tv in our room, no drapes made it very difficult to sleep, and there was a mess of construction materials right outside our window ruining any chance of a view. It is NOT walking distance to the beach and is very inconvenient to get to town or any restaurants. Do yourself a favor and go the extra 15-20 minutes to stay in Vik.

Delicious breakfast with lots of choice. No restaurant so you would need a car to drive in to Vik for supper. Recommend Suðer-Vik and Halldórs cafe. Don’t miss the Skaftfellingur boat museum opposite which has lots of information about old Vik.
Beautifully clean rooms and bathroom with comfortable beds. Very little storage space. The bathroom is shared between four rooms.

An opportunity to spend a night in a revamped farmhouse turned guesthouse. The Farmhouse lodge is situated about 15-20 minutes west of the town of Vik right off of the Ring Road and has two levels (the main and a walk out basement which is quite bright). Stayed in a single room with shared bathroom (which I think I had to myself) that was on the lower level facing south with a big bright window and beautiful view). All I could hear were the birds at night. There is courtesy coffee, tea and biscuits available all the time. Buffet breakfast is an extra 2700ish kr and is convenient, including various cereals, seed mixes, cheeses, cold cuts, vegetables, fruits, cakes, diy waffles, breads, croissants, jams and spreads, tea, coffee and juices. The dining area has wonderful scenic views. The decor is very tasteful, Scandinavian farmhouse modern. Staff are very professional and courteous

Gorgeous views,although not from my very humid, smelly room. Had to wait for loo 20-30mins three times (twice evening,one morning) as there is ONE shared shower/loo room. The kitchen is a minute's walk away in a far barn. A very clean and pretty barn, just not handy- not one for midnight snackers! Would pick somewhere less damp, closer to Vik and with better loo facilities next time.

Had to sit there (the only one there) while Sylvia surfed the internet. Then at 4:00pm she said she could check us in. I just thought that was odd since nobody else was there and our room was ready.

Our stay was made fantastic by the staff. The Portuguese woman running the front desk provided excellent service, giving great recommendations for food and attractions in the area. We found Vik had not a lot to do in the evenings, but this staff member showed us the board games she had added to the hotel and we had great fun playing games and chatting with her for the evening. Plus the room was extremely spacious and clean and the hotel was a very short drive away from the Black Sand Beach (Reynisfjara) and the town of Vik. Overall a great stay and would recommend to anyone visiting Iceland's south coast!

This was my least favorite place we stayed in Iceland. It was not worth the $200 a night we paid and felt more like a dorm than a hotel. Our room was in the basement, and it was so small that we didn't have room to open our suitcases. No fridge or coffee/tea in the room. The furniture was old and very basic. You can hear other people, especially in the morning when people are walking upstairs at breakfast. I wish we'd stayed somewhere else in Vik.
