I don't understand why this hotel has a high rating and good reviews.
The hotel in general is very simple and doesn't show it is well maintained.
It doesn't have a good beach and its full of boats.
The worst part was the room, it was dirty everywhere.
Looks like they have very low standards of cleaning.
I am glad I booked the hotel for one night only.

The staff were typically Balinese, always smiling and couldn’t do enough for us.
Pool service for lunch and refreshments. My only comment was the quality of the mattress. Needs replacing, it’s done it time. For the cost I’d go again

We have never been to Chandidasa before but what a beautiful place. Hotel Genngong was perfect, right on the water where the local fisherman are and you can swim off the beach. Close enough to walk to plenty of places to eat, although the onsite restaurant is very good too. Warung Moka a stones throw away is definitely worth a stop, the food is beautiful and is family run. Rooms a little tired however clean and compared to others in the area much better. Staff are very attentive and so helpful. Would highly recommend this place, it’s a piece of paradise.

Loved this hotel, from the kindness and efficiincy of the whole staff, to the quality of the bedroom equipments , everything was tip top shape .. perfect for a short stay , 4 , 5 days max as the area has a limited amount of activities the only bemol would be the village of Candidas itself that do not provide interesting shopping facilities.

Cons:- The hotel is very tired and needs a refurb! The swimming pool was not very clean, green algae around the sides which is not a good sign, large whole choline tablets just thrown in whilst people using the pool. Not good!! Constant harassment by boat owners on the beach to go on boat trips even while you were lying in the hotel grounds, trying to chill out. Bed chair cushions were filthy! Our room was three long flights of stairs up with no lift so be aware of that when booking. The transfer from the airport is nearly three hours by car and after a six hour flight it seemed to just to go on and on and costs $60. The beach in front of the hotel was not clean, litter and even dog poo on the beach. Reported the fridge in the room freezing everything inside three times but not repaired.
Pros :- The staff are brilliant very friendly and helpful always smiling. Our room (33) had beautiful view over the ocean but as said it needs a coat of paint and new furniture.

My husband and I loved our stay at Genggong! We booked for 4 nights and extended it for further 4. There are so many things to rave about. Our room was on the second floor and the view of the ocean was incredible!!! The morning light and evening sunsets were breathtaking. We loved sitting on our balcony watching the fishermen and their activities, so entertaining.
The very generous breakfasts were delicious with a wide choice.
And the staff!!! They all are a sheer delight with the most beautiful smiles.
We highly recommend going snorkelling with one of the fishermen. We went with Alex and he was wonderful but I’m sure the others would be great too. Alex took us to Blue Lagoon and Virgin beach.
Great restaurants including the one at Genggong. We also loved Vincents, Warung Le Putu and the cutest Warung that was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. At the entrance to the hotel turn right down the village road and it’s about a 5 minute walk on the left. It’s a corner store where the locals eat.
We’d love to go back. Thank you Genggong for our wonderful experiences and memories.

I liked everything, nice room, nice bathrooms, beautiful balcony with fantastic view, i thought i was in Hawaii!

I would appreciate hand towels.
What i didnt like?
The trash on a beautiful beach, crystal clear water, warm no reason tp get out, then you see plastics bags floatnh around you. Endless plastic and all sort of trash, unbelievable. Locaals need to be educated. They have no idea what they have, it's so beautiful, should treasure evrry inch!
I dont think the resort is responsible for the trash. A local told me the school children come on the werkrnd to clean up the beach!
Obviously this is not working.

Beautiful ocean front view, quiet hotel with an excellent staff. The room was very large and the bed was comfortable, plenty pillows which was appreciated.
There is an on sight restaurant but there are other options in walking distance. Breakfast was included and was very good except for the thin pancakes, opt for the fluffy ones.
Vincent's restaurant is excellent and they will pick you up on request.
Lots to do in the area, temples, virgin beach, blue lagoon, etc. the hotel can arrange a driver if you don’t have transportation.

Beautiful boutique hotel with lovely gardens and pool. Our room on the 3rd floor had the most amazing views. The food at the restaurant was excellent and the staff kind and friendly. Candidasa is much quieter and relaxing than other areas in Bali. The only negative was the beach in front of the hotel is very small and diffucult to walk along, it is not possible to walk along the beach to other restaurants.

This is a lovely, small hotel perched over the beach lined with fishermen’s boats coming and going. Pool area and lawn great. Very serene place, we stayed a week. We chose to enjoy all our meals in the restaurant on premise. Food was very good, Indonesian and western, very fresh and prepared well. Lovely staff; attentive and warm; very clean and well kept. Our room on the floor had a fantastic, wide ocean view! We loved our stay! Thank you Hotel Genggong for a wonderful stay!

Lovely lawn right upto the beach..great location opposite the offshore islets which are great for fishing and diving with boats for hire on the beach...phenomenal sunsets, large well furnished room with terrace & a huge comfortable xxxl sized double bed
massive glass frontage overlooking the lawn and sea. The hotel is in a quiet peaceful location away from the traffic of the main drag but close enough to access the bars and restaurants. The hotel arranged scooter hire for 4.days at 70,000 Rp/day about £3.50. I recommend this to explore the lush jungly countryside, nearby temples, and black volcanic sand beach near bug bug.

Hotel Genggong was our first stay in Bali. It was the perfect place to relax and also go out sightseeing from. We stayed in a Royal Room and had the most beautiful view of the ocean from the floor to ceiling windows. The staff were so kind and helpful! Every one of them was exceptional! We loved our time in Candidasa as the area is not too busy, and we especially loved our time at Hotel Genggong. We miss the views already!

We loved the Hotel Genggong in Candidasa. The hotel kindly granted our request for a top floor (Royal) room which had fantastic views from both room and balcony of the beach, sea, reef and mini-islands, and of palm forested hills to the side. You can just about view both sunrise and sunset given the way the balconies face. The hotel is situated down a track off the main road which makes a lovely walk by day, and is not an issue for evenings as most restaurants in Candidasa do free taxi pick-ups and drop-offs. It is very near to the Lotus pond which is lovely to visit before c 10.30 a.m. after which the flowers close up. Candidasa area is highly recommended for a stay of c 5 nights as we did to experience a quiter more traditional part of Bali.. Hotel breakfasts were excellent although included regular coffee not the best and probably worth paying for a cappuccino or latte some days. They are so accommodating they opened breakfast early for us one morning when we had an early start trek scheduled. It was nice to meet and chat to the managers, Aldo and Francesca, who were charming and had interesting tales to tell. The hotel has the very relaxed feel and vibe of a family-run hotel with friendly and smiling staff. Despite not being new it is well maintained and the pool area and gardens are beautiful.

Spent two nights , would have loved to stay longer. Staff were welcoming and helpful, a special touch to have the manager Arlo introduce himself at breakfast. Lovely spot that is well away from road noise , with only the sound of the sea at night. Small amount of rooms meant a very relaxed amount of guests , recommend the in house massage , best I had while in Bali. Highly recommend and we will be back.

Beautiful seaside with ocean views, delicious breakfast included, in a quiet area of Bali but a short walk to warungs. You can get a local fisherman to take you snorkelling. The staff are friendly and welcoming. We could not fault the place and will return.

Such great value for money. One of the only places in Candidasa that has an actual beach. The rooms were large with nice terraces or balconies. Super clean and comfortable. The hotel is maintained really well. The food is good and consistent. The pool and grounds were great and the staff super friendly. Overall I enjoyed my stay here and would go back again. Candidasa is like Bali in the 80’s/90’s. Laid back, chilled and quiet. It’s certainly not a foodie or nightlife destination. 3 days was perfect.

We had a wonderful 8 day stay at Hotel Genggong.It's a small family run hotel ,with stunning ocean views .We spoilt ourselves and stayed in the Royal room ,which was very roomy with a super comfy king size bed .The block out curtains ensured a great night sleep .There is a smart TV, but we were too busy watching the activities on the ocean to watch it .The fishing boats headed out in the morning and returned with their catch mid morning.In the afternoon families came down to fly kites and then the night fishermen came down to fish off the jetties.
The beach is small but clean ( the \"trash heros\" were there cleaning during our stay )
The staff at the hotel were always friendly and helpful ,quick to answer any questions I had prior to our arrival.The room, pool and gardens are spotless .
The hotel is located within easy walking distance of town but far enough away to be very quiet and peaceful .
in short ,we can't wait to go back to stay

Genggong CandiDasa - perfect place to relax

Excellent ocean views and access. Great service, delicious food and refreshing drinks. Try the snakebite! All for much lower price than most ocean front resorts in Bali. If partying and crowds is your thing, this is not the place. But if you seek relaxation, tranquility, peace and comfort, Hotel Genggong CandiDasa is the perfect place. There is plenty to do around like snorkeling from the pier in front of the hotel, rice field trekking, temple visits, and plenty of evening hangout places within walking distance.

Everything about our stay at this hotel was excellent. The rooms, staff, peaceful location, pool, gardens all made this our favourite stop. It is only a short walk to shops and warungs though the location is so quiet and peaceful. The restaurant is on the beach front and serves a good variety of meals all day. You can ocean swim in front of the resort or arrange a fishing or snorkelling trip with the local fishermen. Highly recommended.

Come Home to Hotel Genggong

Amazing! The staff is by far and away the best part. And that is saying a lot because the facilities, location and food are all top notch. I stayed here for almost a full month in September 2019. I had the top floor room with a balcony and a perfect view of the ocean. In the morning you can watch the local fishermen bring in their catch. Enjoy breakfast on the beach. Go for a swim in the pool or go snorkeling right in front of the hotel. I tried almost everything on the menu and you can’t go wrong. Whether you get the King Prawns or the steak or anything else the food is well cooked and delicious. The facilities are spotless. The beds and comfortable. The rooms spacious. The water pressure in the showers are inviting and the water hot. There really is no reason to ever leave but if you want to then Candidasa is a short walk. This is the perfect Bali getaway. Avoid the drunks and the crowds of Kuta and Denpasar. Candidasa is a little over an hour up the coast and it is quaint and beautiful. The hotel manager and his family sometimes hang out on the weekends and after a conversation with them you will quickly see why with all the amenities that the staff is the best part of this place. A few weeks into my trip I decided to go to Kuta for a weekend just to see what the rest of Bali was like. Honestly, I couldn’t get back to Genggong fast enough. And when the taxi pulled into the parking lot and I was welcomed by the staff I had this weird feeling that I had come back home.

When you walk up to reception you will see the amazing view that awaits you .
I had the deluxe Seaview room and it was making , the restaurant on site was very cheap compared to Seminyak prices , the cocktails where good and reasonably priced , I liked how you just signed a bill after dinner or room service and the bill was tallied up at the end of your stay , and then you can give tip for staff in box at reception at check out
In the morning the fishing boats unload the catch from the night on the small beach outside the hotel
Hotel is for couples or solos wanting a getaway from the craziness of Kuta Seminyak and just read by the pool and relax unwind

We have been to Genggong several times before and it is one of our favorite hotels. The staff is so friendly and professional. The rooms are a nice size with comfortable bed and lots of pillows. The wifi is excellant. The location can't be beat. The view is amazing with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We always have the same room with a view overlooking the sea and the small fishing village on the other side of the gate. The rooms are very clean as is the pool and the grounds around the hotel. The breakfast is very nice with two western and two Indonesian choices. The food in the restaurant is also very good. We can't wait until we're back next time.
