The breakfast was very good, if you wanted hot addition to breakfast you would have to ask or you would not be told. Reception staff generally friendly and helpful. Other staff sometimes appeared to have attitude. The gym is not well equiped at all, 5 pieces of equipment only. The food from the bar was not really good. So avoided it in the end. Surrounding area was horrible not many eating places or places to see or explore, the area is very run down. Also was shocked that i had to pay additional tax on the hotel when i got there.

This hotel is a good no-frills place to stay in Dakar. It is a bit out of the way of most tourist spots, but easy to get taxis (heetch) to get to anywhere. The room was spacious with plenty of room to move around even with 3 people sharing. It is located on a very busy street, though, and the traffic noise can be loud but generally quiet enough overnight to be able to get sleep. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful and transfers to/from the airport are offered for a reasonable fee which can be added to your hotel bill. The breakfast is good with many options but it wasn't always refilled. The only thing is the coffee is instant, not brewed. The restaurant on the top floor offers many choices with reasonable prices and there is a restaurant next door for fast food options that is tasty and inexpensive. We spent 3 nights and were very happy with this hotel.

Great Accommodations in Dakar

We arrived about 8hrs later than planned due to over booking, however the staff was there to help us download the bags and help us to our rooms quickly. A light breakfast was provided in the morning and the staff on the 6th floor were so accommodating, I have a 2yr old that slept thru breakfast so I was collecting breakfast for him. Might I say the croissants were amazing, I ended getting up for breakfast every morning to eat 2 of them. We ventured up to the 7th floor and again the staff was so nice. Our rooms were clean, the ac was great and the beds were comfy. Excellent choice of hotels

Very nice hotel. Hotel hospitality exemplified by the man Mansour at the front desk. He was the only English speaking staff member there! I appreciated his service. Room was very comfortable. I tolerated warm water showers. Only downside was the restaurant. The restaurant staff were not very polite nor hospitable. The breakfast display and options leave so much more to be desired-not the greatest. Also those chairs in the lobby were better suited for a balcony not the reception area. All in all a relaxing stay but a higher price would be a tall order for this hotel

BOOK THIS HOTEL AT YOUR OWN RISK. When I got to the hotel, I was told that they did not have my confirmation and the hotel was full. I showed them my confirmation email, they were dismissive. I asked to speak to a manager and was told one was not available. The manager comes to work at a later time. I had to get online and find another hotel, plus pay for another taxi ride to the hotel. I have traveled to over 44 countries (IG: travelbyanymeans) and I’ve never experienced this.

Pros: Check in was super quick and easy. Front desk staff Khadijatou and Rokhiyya are very professional, efficient and kind. This place is very convenient for COVID testing that’s often needed for travels. I love the family rooms - spacious and clean

Cons: Wifi is slow. Make sure you put do not disturb sign, otherwise you will get multiple knocks and entries by house keeping staff. House keeping seem to not know which room is occupied and don’t need prepping

There is mosquito in the elevator and the lobby breakfast horrible the quality of service fare away from 4 stars hotel dust outside right on the door if you’re staying with someone you have to pay 5000FCF for an extra key it’s ridiculous oh I was good to forget no one will help or even care about you if you have heavy Luggage you do it on your own I really regret it

The check in was slow, probably due to a disgruntled customer that was in front of us and the fact that there was only one person doing check ins. We had no one help with our luggage to our room.
The room was super clean! But the bathroom very small. The location was inner city and conveniently close to stores, restaurants . WiFi was good.

First visit to Africa :D

This was my first trip to Africa and the country itself is overwhelmingly amazing, especially for an African American. The hotel itself wasn’t in the best location, as far as tourism is concerned, but the customer service and building was awesome. Everyone was so friendly, and a majority of them speak English, so it wasn’t intimidating. They went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. From the bartender who gave me a glass of ice late at night, to the housekeeper who came back to our room to clean after I took longer than expected getting dressed for the day lol, to the breakfast attendants who explained what every dish was, to the front desk agent who took a picture of us (for us), to the manager who called the covid testing clinic for us to verify what documents we needed to bring. I love these folks and plan on returning in the fall... thanks to you all!

Very new smaller hotel in Dakar. Close to street but, no street noice.
A grocery store a few doors away, safe for walking. Front desk helpful.
They arranged for a driver for us and will take us to airport. We are staying here three times. Delicious breakfast, plenty of fruit And expresso coffee.
Dinner is delicious and reasonable.
We booked extra
Large room With couch. It was worth the small extra charge.
New bathroom, good strong shower, extra large bath towel, bidet, hairdryer. Everything works. Air conditioning, safe and Patio with chair.

Dakar is not a city to be mentioned as touristic, my inconveniences were more related to the city itself than connected to the hotel.
The hotel is far from \"Dakar downtown\" but \"conveniently\" connected by bus - taxi can be used but traffic is just as terrible that...
Experiencing the bus together with the locals was interesting, including its unconfortability.
Hotel service and facilities are more than correct.

Difficult location to find

Nice enough hotel but the location is terrible. It was very difficult to explain to taxi drivers how to get to the hotel. Sometimes I had to even pay extra to convince taxis to deal with the terrible traffic in that area combined with the difficulty of finding it. There is construction going on right next door and the noises continue well into late night. The breakfast was decent. The Italian manager was at best rude and at worst racist. Every time I was talking to the front desk people, he would swoop in and talk over me as if I wasn’t there. The day I interrupted him and continued my conversation, he found a way to rack on extra charges to my bill. Would I stay here again. No

Hotel was good. Staff were very welcoming and smiling. Felt welcomed.
Bedsheet and room was good, fridge was amongst the coolest I have tried.
The windows were on the yard side, therefore nothing to see but the opposite wall. Light was ok though. In room lighting is great.
The area is not very well lit, but quite safe.
Access is easy by taxi. Slight tendency for traffic jams on the street, but no noise can be heard from inside rooms. Hotel supplies toiletries. Parking space is available.
I recommend the place for those who want a clean room close to the main living areas of Dakar.

First of all, Ms. Loum at the front desk is a treasure! She ALONE is worth coming to the hotel. Warm, inviting and thoroughly wonderful at making sure all guests have everything they need within moments of their arrival. Breakfast buffet is nothing short of sumptuous and they will even make omelets for you if you ask! Room is spacious and very clean. Bathroom puts many in Paris and London to shame! Not located downtown but worth the extra few kilometers!!!!

Dakar for a night

The Hotel was just what we were looking for our one night stay in Dakar. We chose it as we were on a budget and not for location or due to another review. There are two VDN Hotels in Dakar and this is the virtually new one. We particularly liked the friendly helpful staff, the roof top restaurant and breakfast room. The choice and quality of the evening meal, service and buffet breakfast was excellent, far better than one would expect on a budget. The family room was adequate for our needs, nice and clean, ac etc. We would certainly recommend this Hotel.

Extremely comfortable stay in a modern, up-to-date hotel: bed comfortable, room more than adequate, bathroom quite nice, clean and well-provisioned, adjustable AC, staff friendly and helpful; front desk staff also friendly and accommodating, willing to help with travel arrangements to and from airport, though such should be confirmed; ample continental breakfast included; good restaurant on 6th floor just below top floor lounge, both with local views of the city; waitstaff is also knowledgeable and friendly. Hotel is on the VDN, a major thoroughfare, so taxis are easily accessible; Dakar is a large city with heavy traffic, so proximity to necessary or desirable destinations should be considered.

Very clean and new feeling. A few tiny ants in the bathroom sink. Bed was great. AC worked perfectly. Wifi was fairly weak so I ended up hotspotting my phone most of the time. Location is a hike from downtown. I tried going cheaper but suffered miserably and returned to VDN as if it were a paradise. Would stay here again. Daba and Aida in the bar were great company.
