I don't like this hotel. It's noy even 2 star hotel, they gave me 1 towel, I requested 2 and it seems to be a big deal. I will never stay there. I don't like the bathroom style. It makes the bed linen damp.
I will rate them 4 for safety. It's safe.

The hotel was very central to dakar and the staff and security went the extra mile in helping me. The food was excellent as a buffet service amazing variety for choice.

The hotel is not worth $140 a night, It’s more Like a $70 a night hotel. I have travelled to 44 countries (IG: travelbyanymeans), and have stayed in many hotels.

Pro
Dinner buffer was ok, did not go to breakfast.
Bed was comfortable
The shower was nice and hot (Yessss)
The lobby, bar, pool areas are are ok

Cons
1. The sheets and towels were clean, but they were dingy.

2.The location is not good for a first time visitor/tourist. There are no bars, restaurants, etc, around the hotel. But, you can easily hail down a taxi in front of the hotel.

3. In general the staff needs customer service training. For example, I had a problem with the safe in my room. I had to go to the front desk 2 times to ask if someone was coming to check the safe. One hour had gone by. No urgency, no concern, no service recovery. I must give thanks to Ibrahim and Moda (the bartender) were exceptional.

This hotel definitely has potential.

I’ve stayed here several times in the past, before DSS became the official airport. I was disappointed this time around. The hotel was undergoing renovation so it was extremely noisy. The restaurant offers very limited food options and most of it isn’t good. Unfortunately its in such an awkward location there aren’t many restaurants nearby. The breakfast is ok. The staff were polite. Housekeeping was extremely slow, came to clean around 2pm which given the renovation- where was I supposed to go while they cleaned? The telephones in the bedrooms don’t work. If I can avoid it I probably won’t come back.

The hotel staff at reception has no concept of customer service. They were ice cold during my check-in process and when I asked if someone from the reception or restaurant could bring me up a spoon as had the flu, was weak and had high fever, they flat out said no. The rooms are outdated and not clean at all. I actually ended up checking out a whole day early as I could no longer stand one more night in the hotel.

Nice and cozy hotel.. loved the gym and restaurant experience.. dinner was delicious and proximity to taxis to get around the city, quite convenient. Hotel is also along a known highway so quite easily accessible. Overall it was a great experience for short term stay. I was not able to charge my laptop due to country specific plugs, i will carry an extension cable next time.

Pros: Had availability on short notice. Probably for reasons below...
Cons: Not very accessible.
My room was not cleaned the first night
The internet is extremely slow
The restaurant did not have most of the menu
Only had 1 positive interaction. Everyone else had an attitude and seemed annoyed if I asked simple questions.
Have a “cab service” which they do not help you with. Can you help me get to this address please? There are cabs outside. Good luck! My French if pretty decent so I could deal with them, if yours is not... Good luck!
Had a reservation with breakfast included and they still charged me for it.

nice modern hotel closest to airport has free shuttle, great service, good breakfast buffet, good dining also for lunch or dinner, rooms are small but ok, kind of like an Ibis or Motel 6 type hotel. Bedding is comfortable and good AC. Humidity is an issue and some conditioning upgrades are due. Other than that good stay for a few days. Price reasonable and better with Hotels.com than in person

Just say Onomo before you jump

Spent the first 20 minutes killing about 25 mosquitos in the room. Other than that the room is clean and quiet. It's handy to the airport as often have to overnight to catch connecting flights. Food is quite good. Overall Dakar hotels are expensive. The Onomo Hotel for under $100 US is ok

Safe, modern, comfortable hotel stay in Dakar, Sen

Prepaid room and just wish we had more time to spend in it. A fivee-hour flight delay meant our night was very short. It would have been nice if the hotel had an email address. Our cell phones did not work there, and there was no way to call the hotel and get the shuttle to pick us up. There we were at 4 a.m. inundated at the airport with jerks offering taxi service and wanting to do anything to ellicit tips from us. The personnel we approached for help could not speak enough English and we could not speak enough French. But he did tell us what was the limet we should pay for the taxi and the most forward of the 'drivers' said he would take us to the hotel for that. He was a real nuisance following us into the hotel to get more money. I had to threaten to go get one of the policemen outside before he would leave. This really has nothing to do with the hotel. It is a fine place to stay, but getting from the airport to the hotel is not a pleasant experience. Some of the staff could not understand English enough to understand some of our requests. But it is a place I could highly recommend to those needing to stay in Dakar close to the airport.

Modern Oasis

Just one night this time. There's a good buzz about the Onomo Dakar. It's busy enough to let you know the guests enjoy and depend on it, but not overcrowded or hurried. Definitely a business orientated airport type hotel. I like the restaurant and the food they serve. You really can't walk anywhere, but everything you might need is a taxi drive away (assuming you know how to use the taxi system here). A comfortable, modern oasis for the traveling business person. Excellent wifi too.

An overnight stay prior to early morning flight from Dakar. Very high security even to get into the hotel compound - armed guard searched all our bags before allowing taxi into the gate.
Hotel is well designed, clean and friendly. Odd shower arrangement - just an open space with no privacy but functional. I was sharing with a friend so slightly tricky! No tea/coffee facilities. Comfortable bed. Food in the restaurant was OK but a bit pricey for Senegal for what it was.
Free shuttle to the airport in the morning was excellent.

Good choice, good air-conditioning!

I recently stayed at ONOMO Dakar and it was an overall decent experience. A convenient choice in a relatively quite area (if you do not mind the sound of aeroplanes). The rooms are comfortable and cool which is essential for me. I found the food onsite to be over-priced. The level of english spoken by staff was quite variable.

Shower areas could do with a decent scrub and bleach to preserve them better.

Perfect for the traveler in transit.

With a total of 7 hours to kill between two flights, I picked this hotel for its proximity to Yoff airport, based on the recommendation of a colleague. I was not disappointed. The location was perfect, a 10 minute ride from the terminal, the room modestly elegant and the facilities - i.e. wi-fi, restaurant and bar - more than adequate. Most importantly, the hotel offers a half-day rate - a rare accommodation in Dakar, and ideal for the transit passenger.

Good value overall

The ONOMO hotel is conveniently located 5 minutes from the airport so is great for short trips. The hotel has clean rooms, comfortable beds, working AC and hot water, friendly staff, wireless internet (though weak reception) and a good restaurant (main courses run around $14 but are well prepared). On my recent stay the room had a funny smell that seemed to dissipate over time and there were only 4 or 5 stations on the TV that worked - but overall I'd recommend it as high end hotels in Dakar are very expensive and this is more reasonable.

Close to airport (5 mins). Room was very small and noisy if planes are taking off in northerly direction. Had a very early start (4.30) but staff went out of their way to ensure a continental breakfast was available before I left. Transit hotel for a lot of mine workers. Bit overpriced.

Good transit hotel for short stays.

No frills experience good for short stays but for longer stays I'd recommend a hotel with better facilities. Breakfast was average at best. Good breads and croissants as you'd expect in a francophone country but the protein selection was dire. Lunch was much better. Staff were friendly enough. Good points: clean, no hassle environment. Very close to the airport and free transfer, promptly delivered.

Combined with low costs, this is perfect for the over night stop, early morning check-ins as it is seconds away from the airport, with shuttle bus facilities.
Surprisingly it was very busy with an open and modern reception and restaurant/bar. The corridors were dated, but I do not have to sleep in them, and the rooms were sufficient enough for the night.

Great for an overnight stay in dakar

Staff were courteous and informative while attentively and obviously trying to appear hip. The rooms were efficient, clean and quiet considering the proximity to the airport. The breakfast buffet had many options and included some local beverage options such as bissap and bouye which were delicious.

Exceeded my expectations

I largely selected the Onomo because it is so close to the airport and I needed a place for an overnight stay. But I found it a comfortable and stylish place, and would be happy to stay there for a longer visit to Dakar. High points: the cream of zucchini soup, the layout and cleanliness of the rooms, the friendliness of the staff and the promptness of the airport shuttle.
