room needed a fresh coat of paint, light fixtures were mostly broken or stained, the hallways were dirty and everything from check in to the restaurants was extremely slow and inefficient. the wifi never worked for us and the facilities with the exception of the pool and beach were all pretty subpar for a 5 star hotel.

So much for a relaxing stay…

The hotel property was really nice, but the room we received was not the cleanest. The shower looked dingy and there was old false eyelashes under a glass that was in the bathroom that was a major indicator that whomever cleaned the bathroom didn’t even bother to replace the glass with a clean one. They next day the room was cleaned the lashes were still there! The construction outside our room was a disaster! Was awoken by loud drilling noises in the morning. It was supposed to be a relaxing trip and just did not feel that way at all. We will definitely not be staying at this hotel in the future. 😡

Generally a good hotel (better value for money than competition in Dakar), staff were friendly and the facilities were great. The rooms were nice and big, though mine smelled of some chemical all the time.

Have stayed in two different rooms room 415 nice comfortable room but no view outside seating area is awful. So decided to upgrade to a sea view 316 unfortunately on the ground floor asked to have an elevated room was denied. View is limited but nice to have some sunlight unlike the previous room. However room is dated not as nice as the last room, so unfortunately you don’t get the best of both worlds. It’s rather a slight view or a nicer room. WiFi is in and out, restaurant and pool lovely! Gym very hot but nicely laid out.

The hotel pool and private beach truly are a peaceful haven in this busy, dusty city. The hotel feels like it needs a manager with a bit more of an oversight. Little things like the four clocks behind the reception desk all showing wrong times and some not working at all. When I called to check about check in, the call was cut off 3 times when no one answered.
But all is forgiven when you are drinking a piña colada poolside. I had the ribeye at the outdoor restaurant it was fantastic!

I would’ve given more stars but there are problems within the hotel. I was shocked when the power went out in the hotel. It was a brief moment that happened two times. I was shocked because we pay so much to stay there. The breakfast selection is very small. My husband and I signed up for an excursion. It was a waste of money!!we signed up for Goree, it was 50,000 per person. It didn’t include lunch. It was such a scam. I could’ve paid 15,000 for the whole trip. That would’ve included taxi ride, the ticket for the boat. Please be careful when booking an excursion. You definitely can do it a lot cheaper than what they are offering and the brochure for the excursions is very deceptive. They made it seem as if they provided a meal or other things but in reality those you have to pay for yourself. On a positive note, I did love the pool and the beach. They were so clean and not too many people. Overall, I hope that they do better and not continue to scam tourists with the excursions. I don’t think I’ll stay at Terrou Bi again. I’ll come back for the pool and beach, that’s it.

The front desk workers can be silly trying to get money from guests with stupid so-called tax de séjour. It’s not a real thing and it’s not much. It’s the idea of it that bugs me. I am a natural \"tipper\". So, I have no problems recognizing good service with good tips. But, I absolutely hate bs charges. I will not stay there again.

Great location. Beach and pool are very nice. Food is good quality and the service is good (in comparison to regional standards). As a result you pay higher prices for food there than elsewhere, but that’s to be expected at one of the country’s top/most elite hotels.

One thing they didn’t address was that my safe wasn’t working properly. It wasn’t fixed and there was no follow up.

They should also look at their humidity control system. I found the bedding slightly damp but it wasn’t a game changer.

My trip was great. The hotel was clean and the food was great.
I was not satisfied with service from the front desk. They wrongly schedule my Covid test which made me to pay twice the amount. I was also overcharged for beverages used from the room refrigerator. I initially paid CFA 24,000 the night prior to my checkout which I was told would clear my bill.
I check the next morning with the front desk prior to leaving the hotel for my flight and was told everything was fine. My cousin, who was staying with me in The same room, left the room later at 11am and was charged CFA 65,000. He explained to them that I paid all the bills the night prior and even confirmed it that morning before leaving but they insisted that he had to make the CFA 65’000 for bogus drinks (from refrigerator) charges.

I was harassed and discriminated against by this hotel's security; I was later followed to the reception area and a separate restaurant after proving I was a guest of the hotel.

After I checked out of the hotel, I've had my personal assistant reach out to the staff AND the owners of the hotel directly and NO ONE has addressed the situation or spoke with me. I take this is a high-form of disrespect and I will never go back to this hotel. This hotel is a disgrace. I have had MUCH better experiences at Radisson Blu. Perhaps Terrou-Bi should conduct a name change to TERRIBLE Beach and Casino Resort.

When I sent an email to the management concerning the issues it went ignored. If you are staying in Dakar, you are better off staying in Radisson Blu.

They did not allow me to sign at the restaurant because allegedly my account was closed, and after eating I found myself being asked to pay right away, and eventually being flanked with a ‘bodyguard’ to go to reception to clarify my case. A great hotel worth the stay

A great hotel, worthy of the 5* rating. The only critique is the room is not cleaned every day unless you put the 'please clean my room' sign on the door. Very comfortable bed, good bathroom with separate shower and bath, a nice little balcony too, good size room, good TV and internet connection throughout the hotel and by the pool, beach and restaurant too. Nice friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely come back and stay here again.

It is a beautiful resort. The room was spacious and clean and didn't smell muggy like the radisson and the king fahd rooms I had stayed in. The service was excellent, everyone always smiling and making sure I had everything I need. The room service menu is limited, but they have great restaurants with excellent selections. The breakfast buffet is top notch. Overall I had a great time!

I'm super disappointed from the apparently 5* Terrou-Bi resort. The check-in reminded me on a badly organised youth hostel; the reception staff was busy talking to each other and sorting the key cards. Friendly enough I was told where I can find my room - no information about the venue, breakfast, what so ever. No luggage service was offered. In the room arrived, I first enjoyed the hideous view on a ugly parking lot. The furnitures in the room (#515) were nice, but the bed frame was way larger than the mattress. Kind of awkward. Then I tried to plug in my phone, unfortunately both USB sockets were broken. In the bathroom, I noticed a lot of limescale and the whole room was negligently cleaned. There were even spots of black mold on the ceiling. The water pressure in the shower was low, so was the water temperature. The house keeping staff entered twice my room without any reason even though I was is the room. However, the staff is friendly and tries to help also with limited English. The internet was highly unreliable, I had to switch to the mobile phone for a conf call. The gym is super small with only little equipment. In the convention facilities we expirienced power cuts, super bad audio equipment, constantly failing Wi-Fi and hideous decor in front of a stunning view. Don't get me wrong, that are all not huge problems but it demonstrates that the place is far away from a 5* standard and that there is no reason to justify the exorbitant rates.

This is for sure the best 5* hotel in Dakar as I tried all of them. Great location in the middle of Dakar by the beach. Great private beach, pool, restaurants and bars. Very secure. Awesome staff that have answers to all your needs. I was upgraded in a suite with beach view, it was amazing! Rooms are all very spacious with all international standard 5* amenities. Go for the beach view rooms if you can. I definitely recommend this hotel for business trip as well as family trip in Dakar

One of the best hotels in Dakar, although there is still a lot to improve. The restaurants are very expensive and not really good, cleaning in room was poor in african style, sometimes i think they really just don't see the dirt around.

I was not given the room I reserved. Paid for garden view and was given a view to a very dirty parking lot with dirty sand on the background. I paid an extra per night to have an ocean view. The room was supposed to be ready by the time me and my wife we come back from visiting with friends. We left at 12 pm and were back by 8 pm and were told the previous shift did not mention it and we have to wait for 30 minutes. We protested then were given a room with a view of so many restaurant worker busy setting tables. We could not open the balcony door for fear of being seen. I calle management and complained. Then we were told we had to wait another half an hour. After 90 minutes the room was not ready. We call Expedia requesting a cancellation. Expedia was on the phone with them for sometime before the manager came out and showed us another room. No body apologized. Nothing was offered in compensation for the inconvenience.

Perfect Getaway

My fiance and I decided to stay here and everything was phenomenal. It was a short distance from other restaurants and sites but well worth it. Everything you need was right there and the staff was very professional and customer friendly. There was a pool and it was located right on the beach, multiple restaraunts with varying food choices, great entertainment and awesome backdrops, there was no need to leave. I would absolutely stay again if I ever have an opportunity to come back to Dakar.
