Excellent hotel, beautiful location

Lagon 2 is an excellent hotel and one of the best choices in Dakar. The location on the water is very beautiful and the hotel is very comfortable, clean and the staff are all very gracious and helpful. The air conditioning works well and the room is spacious. The breakfast is very good with beautiful views to start your day.
The Lagon 1 restaurant nearby is excellent with very good seafood. From the hotel, you can walk along the water into the town and then Independence Plaza. I recommend Lagon 2 if you want a high quality hotel but not to be removed from the local culture by being in a resort.

Terrible stay and left early due to cockroaches

Do not stay in this hotel. It claims to be a 4-star hotel and it is not. There are cockroaches in the rooms and the management knows as they leave spray to kill them. The property is extremely run down, old, and has none of the facilities it advertises. A complete rip off, stay away from this hotel.

Great location. Incredible view of the Atlantic Ocean. Friendly and nice staff. Great food at restaurant and bar. Only minor issues is the room. Balcony door didn't lock and tiolet seat was attached to toilet. But over all a good place for the money. I would definitely stay there again.

This was such a unique hotel. It's like a bost but not in super campy/cheesey way. You're right on the Atlantic ocean. The views are stunning. The food is great and so wonderful. Its in a part of town that is walkable to alot of other site.

Double Charged for My Stay

My stay at Hotel Lagon 2 was lovely, and the staff were terrific.

The problem started when I got home, and I saw that I was charged twice for my stay. I was charged by Hotels.com and by Hotel Lagon 2. After MANY phone calls and emails (which included receipts) to Hotels.com, who in turn called Hotel Lagon 2, neither place would refund one of the charges.

So either, Hotels.com never sent the money I paid to Hotel Lagon 2, or the more likely scenario, Hotel Lagon 2 was paid twice for my stay. My review would have been 100% great about my visit, but I've run out of options to correct this situation other than to leave this review. Please contact me. Thank you.

You can get beautiful sea view from all rooms because of coastal location. Also the bar and restaurant are surrounded by beautiful and blue Atlantic Ocean.

Very poor wifi not suitable for business travelers excellent location, friendly staff, a very small hotel with few rooms and small staff. During check out the credit card machine did not work and had to settle with cash. A terrible situation to be in this day and age with virtually cash less economy.

Just like many other reviews say, the rooms are pretty run down. All rooms face the water and have a nice view, but they are just not comfortable. My shower was all trashy, the shower head shooting water in all directions. They keep your door open while cleaning the room and tons of mosquitoes get in your room so expect to be bitten and chase them around all night. The breakfast is pretty good, the coffee machine is excellent. However, they charge you extra for an omelet or eggs which is kind of strange. Also, there is no free drinking water in the rooms (standard of other hotels in Dakar) so you have to take it from your minibar and pay. The staff is nice, no complaints there. Overall, I think the hotel is very very overpriced for what it really is.

Great place, lovely stay

A great place! Over the top 'yacht decor' could be oppressively kitschy but instead, it's fun and dear. Great restaurant on a pier out into the water, a fine small beach and a fully interior resto as well. Rooms are small but super clean and with balconies. Though you are delightfully entrenched in the feeling of the sea and sea culture, you're still just a 7-minute walk right into the heart of Plateau, Dakar's most established downtown 'hood (GO TO BELUGA FOR DINNER!). Great staff, kindly and helpful. ONE cautionary note: the site says \"free hotel transfers\" but that is ONLY from 8am-8pm: after dark means charges and NO discount through the hotel NOR will management do anything to help. While this is annoying in principle, it didn't upend the time at Lagon for me. WOud go back in a heartbeat.

The hotel staff is very professional and attempted to make my stay a pleasant one. The hotel rooms and facilities were clean. As another reviewer wrote, the hotel is not as new and modern as what is depicted in the photos.

Nice location overlooking sea but nothing really in walking distance. Hotel has own restaurant but not well used. Breakfast continental but lacked freshness. Same ownership for restaurant next door. There is no direct connection so you have to walk 250m on roadway. Overall not bad. Lacking in atmosphere. Bit expensive for whats on offer. WiFi worked well.

The hotel staff was courteous and helpful. the location and view from room is excellent. the Quality of service and hotel ameneties in the room need improvement, like providing complimentary Tea/Coffee and electronic kettle in the room, additional/extra towels/hand towels, more chanels on TV either pay-per-view and the complimentary internet in the room goes off @ 10pm. Otherwise, the Hotel is pricey for the $$ per night currently. Overall, Ok.

Dès mon arrivée, j’ai constaté que la chambre mise à ma disposition était dans un état non conforme aux standards attendus d’un hôtel de votre catégorie.
Plusieurs éléments graves ont été relevés et photographiés :
traces d’humidité et de moisissures visibles sur les murs et en bas des cloisons,
peinture sale, cloquée et dégradée,
tête de lit et literie tachées, posant un réel problème d’hygiène,
état général de la chambre négligé.
Concernant la literie, je précise qu’il y avait bien un matelas et un sommier, mais sans aucun habillage ni cache-sommier, laissant le sommier apparent, ce qui est indigne des standards hôteliers et donne une impression de négligence et d’inconfort.
La salle de bain était dans un état inacceptable :
absence totale de rideau de douche, rendant son utilisation impraticable,
propreté insuffisante,
une seule serviette fournie pour deux personnes, nous obligeant à la partager.
Par ailleurs, aucun chausson n’était disponible, alors même que le sol était sale, ce qui pose un véritable problème d’hygiène et de confort.
Le balcon était également très poussiéreux, manifestement non nettoyé avant notre arrivée.
Face à cette situation, il nous a été impossible de rester dans la chambre. Nous avons donc quitté l’établissement le jour même à 20h, tant les conditions de séjour étaient inacceptables.
À cela s’ajoute le comportement non professionnel et désagréable de deux réceptionnistes, rendant toute tentative de résolution difficile. Je tiens toutefois à soulig

L’hôtel possède un équipement ancien.
Lors de mon séjour il m’ont installé à côté d’une chambre avec des travaux alors j’ai été réveillée à 09h jusqu’à mon départ par des bruits de perceuse et de marteau je vous laisse imaginer comment c’était horrible en plus de ça zéro excuses Nada !!!
Plus jamais cet hôtel !

Du bon et du moins bon

Le véritable atout de l'hotel est une vue imprenable sur la mer et un calme absolu, que ça soit au niveau du bar qu'au niveau du resto. Il faut chaud au Sénégal, et le fait d'être dans une salle climatisée qui donne directement sur la mer est un atout indénaible. Pour moi, le meilleur spot de Dakar pour manger, travailler ou avoir un rdv.

Par contre, les chambres sont vieillottes, ce pour plusierus raisons :
- Infiltration d'eau en temps pluie
- Eaux usagée qui s'écoule mal (toilette et salle de bain)
- Mobilier qui se détériore

Cela ne reflete pas du tout le bar et le restaurant.

Donc : super spot pour un passage d'une journée. Par contre si vous cherchez le confort d'un hotel, investissez un peu plus pour aller au pullman à côté.

Effort à faire dans tous les domaines!

Si vous réservez une demi-pension, la limite de dépense pour le repas du soir est à15000 CFA /personne mais personne ne vous avertit: ni l'hotel ni hotels.com. Donc mauvaise surprise lors du check out!
Lieu idyllique, bercé par les vagues mais peu entretenu, l'hôtel se dégrade. Il a fallu changer de chambre à 3 reprises pour trouver la bonne. La lunette des toilettes était pleine de gouttes d'urine dans la première (mais on nous a dit que c'était de la peinture!). Dans la 2e: cafards . Dans la salle de bain de la 3e l'eau (propre? sale? ) gouttait de manière importante du plafond de la salle de bain. La 4e chambre, dans la partie rénovée était la bonne: belle, confortable. Mais jamais un mot d'excuse. Petit déjeuner peu fourni et répétitif. Le personnel est peu motivé et ne vous propose rien: à vous de deviner ce qui est disponible (café, omelette..) Tables jamais mises correctement il manque toujours quelque chose. Le personnel prend sur une autre ce qui manque! En guise de serviette, on apporte une boite de kleenex et débrouillez-vous.
Le restaurant du Lagon 2 est par contre très bon et le jeune homme sympathique et professionnel; c'est le seul! merci à lui.
Pas testé l'autre restaurant (Lagon1) juste son bar, le lieu est magnifique.
En résumé, demandez une chambre dans la partie rénovée; la demi-pension ne sert à rien ( la carte et les prix du restaurant sont les mêmes demi-pension ou pas) et testez le bar et/ou restaurant du Lagon 1.

En fait je connais cet hôtel depuis longtemps. Mais avec le Covid je n'y étais pas retourné depuis 3 ans.
Honnêtement cet hôtel devrait être fermé car les prestations se sont considérablement dégradées et il est dans un état limite !!!! Surtout par rapport au fait d'afficher 4 étoiles !
J'ai eu de l'eau chaude pour la douche 1 fois sur 2.
La chambre sentait vraiment pas bon et était humide
La vieille clim (au moins 30 ans) ne fonctionnait plus
Des détritus dans le couloir sans compter des groupes de gens qui occupaient cet espace en buvant (exagérément) de l'alcool.
La petite salle de sport n'en a plus que le nom car les machines sont inutilisables
Le petit déjeuner est vraiment très réduit en choix
Et la veille de mon départ on me demande si mon séjour est terminé et que je ne vais pas quitter la chambre. En fait ils s'étaient trompés.

Niettegenstaande de kamers proper zijn, kunnen ze een opfris beurt gebruiken. Hier en daar eens terug een likje verf.

Je suis extrêmement mécontent de ce séjour qui m'a coûté au total 1758 euros. Un séjour que j'avais choisi en demi-pension sur votre site. A mon arrivée, la chambre pour la première nuit ne correspondait pas à ce que j'avais acheté. Le système de la demi-pension n'était pas clair. Je n'ai découvert qu'à mon arrivée que le montant du dîner en demi-pension ne devait pas excéder 15000 francs CFA par personne, c'est à dire finalement assez peu pour un dîner décent. Au final le prix de la chambre aura été de 672000 francs CFA, soit 1025 euros et j'ai payé 1758 euros à votre société. Ce qui fait une différence de 733 euros !!!! En additionnant le nombre de dîners, soit six dîners, à 30 000 francs CFA pour deux personnes, on arrive à un total de 180 000 francs CFA, soit 274,69 euros,très loin des 733 euros.... Cherchez l'erreur... Merci de me donner des explications. Cordialement

Prima voor kort verblijf

Hotel is prima voor paar nachtjes. Heb zelf in nieuwbouw kamer geslapen en was top, maar één negatief puntje is de douche. Deze hangt best laag en ik kan er met mijn 181 cm nog onder staan, maar veel langer moet je niet zijn. Deze heeft ruimte om hoger gehangen te worden dus dat zou ik als aanbeveling mee geven.
Ontbijt was summier, maar voor mij voldoende. Personeel zeer vriendelijk.
Verder lekker buiten aan het water een biertje drinken 👍

C'est un petit hôtel pour ceux qui cherchent quelque chose de cheap, mais malheureusement, le prix de la chambre ne reflète pas la qualité de l'hôtel. C'est trop cher. Petit déjeuner, strict minimum. C'est pas un hôtel à recommander pour les voyages d'affaires.
