Everything about the hotel is great. From its design uniqueness to the cleanliness and the comfort of the rooms this trip we discovered that for no charge there are larger rooms that are remarkably big. Breakfast were diverse, flavorful and generally excellent even if the seating area is limited they do have a separate café that is also excellent. All the rooms we booked at access to various terraces with seating outside that was also an added treat. The one criticism I have is that why we arrived with a rental car all of the parking spaces which are apparently limited were taken and I had to park elsewhere the first night. There is plenty of safe parking in a nearby garage and on the street. Overall, the hotel is a truly unique experience because of the brilliant and highly joyous architectural features is extremely well located in town as well in terms of shopping, dining, and everything else.

This hotel is a destination in itself! Showering inside an optical illusion is pretty awesome. Breakfast was fabulous, our favorite breakfast of the fourteen hotels we have stayed at.

What a great building to stay in!

If you have visited a Hundertwasser building before, then here, you get what you expect. Quirky ceramics, curviness and accessible greenery. Our room was comfortable and quiet although at the front of the hotel - helped maybe by the section of tramline in the street being closed. We only stayed for 2 nights and didn't have breakfast there, as there are plenty local bakeries close by. It is central and very convenient for walking round the sights of Magdeburg. It suited us very well.

Looking for something unique?

A very unique hotel, colourful and fun, and right in the heart of the city. The bed was very comfortable and the staff were very good. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Nice spacious room.. was clean and had lots of room.. My complaint would only be that indid not understand how the night entey worked.. The guy at desk told menthey leave at a certain hour and i would have to use a side entry if coming back past that hour.. I never could find it.. So i made sure i got back to room before they left.. That said i did not get to enjoy as much of the night life i had hoped to.. The property itself tho was very nice

Design landmark - and a great hotel!

Outstanding building, living in a design artwork! Very comfortable room, also convenient parking garage. Breakfast was very good (although the space is quite tiny, so you need to book in advance). Walking distance to most attractions. Highly recommended for Magdeburg!

A really fun surprise to walk up to and into this hotel - especially the bathroom tile work and colors; they really wake you up in the morning as soon as you walk in. Very clean and comfortable. Setting of the hotel within this architectural wonder is a treat. Highly recommend.

Architectural Gem

Located in an amazing Hunterwasser building, this hotel incorporates his architectural style into its rooms and common areas. Nice big & cheery room, clean and comfortable. Patio area outside room on landscaped deck. Nice breakfast buffet with a good variety of food. Parking is limited, but a large public lot at the nearby Dom is convenient and inexpensive. Limited restaurants and sights in the immediate area, but this is a very nice hotel if you are staying in or passing through Magdeburg.

Centrally located hotel in an unusual design

The hotel is of uncommon shape and design created by Friedenreich Hundertwasser the Austrian architect. The hotel is more conventional inside, except the bathroom which is of steange shape held in royal blue color. The rooms are comfortable. Wifi is reliable and fast.
Unfortunately the breakfast room is far too small and cramped. A bit strange was as well when opening the curtain, there is a play yard of a kindergarten just on the level of the window.

Great hotel in central location

The ArtHotel is a lovely and quirky hotel located in the Old Town of Magdeburg. Based in the Green Citadel is has shops/cafes etc. within the complex, but is also on a busy shopping street with several malls and shopping complexes nearby. The central location of the hotel means it is very near to the Cathedral, Monastrary/Art Museum, Town Hall and the many churches, parks and other sights of city are not too far away.
I had a single room, which was just the right size for one person. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were friendly at all times. Overall I had an amazing stay here and would definitely stay here again. I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone thinking of staying Magdeburg.

I was greeted by John and he was wonderful. The hotel was beautiful the terrace, the balconies, all wonderful. Each room was adorned and decorated tastefully and artistically, and breakfast was delivered in room! I have only good things to say, and would stay again without hesitation.

Wonderful stay in a wonderful hotel

from check in to check out, we had a lovely stay - complimentaty drinks in the evening, fascinating layout of the hotel and the rooms, comfortsble beds and a superb breakfast, brought to the room on not one but two trolleys. We'd thoroughly recommend the hotel to others. Glad we chose to book a parking space in the hotel car park when we booked, both because the hotel's spaces would otherwise have been full and also because I wouldn't have been entirely comfortable leaving the car, full of luggage, on the street.

Third stay and still impressed by the surroundings and the very friendly and helpful staff, and not least, the lush breakfast served at a table carriage in the room.
we stayed during a heat vawe and it is a minus that not all rooms have air condition, and that the private terrace was next to the outside smoking area without any separation or shielding. Taking this into consideration the prices are in the high end.

Ich finde es überbewertet und nichts besonderes. Nur weil es ein besonderes Gebäude ist, macht es das Hotel nicht besonders. Die Parkplätze wurden eindeutig für Trabis konzipiert, zwei normale Autos passen nicht nebeneinander.

Es hat einfach rundum alles gepasst und es war ein wunderbarer unvergessener Aufenthalt. Volle Punktzahl für Personal (gerne mit Zusatzpunkt) Zimmer und andere Räumlichkeiten top. Sehr leckeres Frühstück. (Frühstücksraum ist relativ klein, hat aber ausgereicht.) Parkmöglichkeiten kann ich nicht beurteilen da ich mit dem Zug gekommen bin. Das Hotel ist gut zu Fuß vom Bahnhof zu erreichen. Auch gibt es eine S Bahn Haltestelle fast direkt davor. Sehr gerne wieder.

Sehr schönes Hotel mit super freundlichem Personal und tollem Frühstück, dazu zentral gelegen. Unser Zimmer hatte eine Terrasse, auf der man sich wie mitten im Wald fühlen konnte. Überhaupt ein faszinierendes Gebäude, welches man unbedingt genauer besichtigen sollte. Im Innenhof kann hierfür eine Tour gebucht werden. Sollten wir wieder nach Magdeburg kommen, wird es auf jeden Fall erneut dieses Hotel.

Das Hundertwasserhaus, in dem das Hotel verortet ist, ist wirklich ein tolles Gebäude. Die Lage an einer Hauptstraße ist zentral, aber es war trotzdem ruhig. Mein Zimmer war etwas schlauchartig geschnitten, aber groß und sauber. Das Bad war sehr stylish. Das Personal mega-freundlich und bemüht.

Das Hotel liegt sehr günstig. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und liebevoll zubereitet. Das Zimmer war für uns fast etwas zu klein und auch das Bad war für ein Studio sehr beengt. Wir reisen immer mit unserem Hund und haben ein Zimmer im Innenhof bekommen, was uns sehr gefreut hat, da unser kleiner Wufferl dort abends frei laufen konnte. Trotzdem war es ein toller Aufenthalt und wir werden wiederkommen.
