We decided to have our dinner at the restaurant. When we came there it was full of people. We got told, that there was no seat available, because they had many groups there. Told them, that we are also a guest of the hotel. No chance. Was very upset and had to leave the hotel to find something around the area. To make a phone call outside with hotel phone, wasn't able neither, did not work, even somebody had to come to check it out.

Everything was perfect (room was ready so early check-in, room and bathroom clean and spotless) until we asked for a kettle.
€5 rental fee for a plastic white kettle which could not have been worth €10. We were surprised so confirmed that it was to hire and not just a bond… Not a lot of money but really?

This hotel is huge but welcoming. The room was a decent amount of space with a comfortable bed. I love that you can do your laundry here. This is a plus for a hotel. I would recommend this hotel for travelling families because of this feature. There is only one washing machine and one dryer but the facilitate free.

Hotel staff are exceptional, especially the young gentleman on the hotels reception. Big clean hotel with decent facilities and a nice clean smelling and friendly vibe to it. As daft as it sounds you feel safe in the hotel. The entrance of the hotel looks directly onto Magdeburg translation which is perfect for commuting to airports and major cities.

The Maritim Hotel in Magdeburg is in every way a magnificent hotel. The staff were second to none in their efforts to make their guests feel at home.
For example, I had a small technical problem with the TV. A quick explanation from reception and it was fine. They followed up with me shortly after, not by phone to the room. They personally came to my room on the sixth floor.

Front desk manager insulting

I always stay at the Maritim when over for business , this time I was staying for 4weeks and was made to feel like a criminal by the front desk manger Luke’s Dobbelstien he was rude and actually took unauthorised payment from my account without any formal discussion , made me feel embarrassed and uncomfortable as other guest stood by
His attitude towards me was rude and disrespectful and showed zero customer service level of any kind ,
He also chatters away in German to his receptionist who then looked uncomfortable

Great place to stay in Magdeburg

The two best things about this hotel are the location (near the train station and good restaurants/bars) and the pool/fitness/sauna area. The piano bar in the lobby also had great cocktails.

Ice cold bath / shower water.

The reason I gave the lowest overall rating is that there was ZERO hot water in the shower. It was ice cold, meaning it was useless. Other than that, the hotel was great. However, an unusable shower is really unforgivable. At its essence, a hotel provides two basic functions: a bed to sleep on, and a warm shower upon waking. The rest is all extra. If a hotel cannot provide either of these two basic functions it fails.

Business meets leisure

This feels like a business hotel rather than leisure, but we were there as tourists and had a great time. The room was nice and the beds comfortable. The staff was helpful when we had a transportation question. It's well-located, easy to get to from the train station, and near the major sights. The safe was large enough to fit the laptop, which is a great convenience.

An outdated concept hotel

Reception staff were very unwelcoming, the room decor is dated, and the breakfast is expensive at €19. They provide free wifi but it is weak and slow so you have to pay for a premium service. e lobby area is a beautiful sight, but it is not backed up with a decent offer.

Hotel sollte mal renoviert werden. Das ist noch Standard aus dem 90ern. Positiv nur die Steckdose am Bett und der wirklich kalte Kühlschrank. Klimaanlage ist eine Farce. Es war heiß und stickig. Selbst Personal bestätigte, dass die nicht läuft, sondern nur eine Art Lüftung und in meinem Zimmer ging nicht mal die.

Hervorheben möchten wir die Qualität des Frühstückbuffets und hier vor allem das sehr aufmerksame und freundliche Personal. Alle Speisen des Buffets waren stets nachgefüllt, die Tische sofort nach Verlassen abgeräumt, so dass jederzeit freie Tische zur Auswahl zur Verfügung standen.
Kompliment zur genügenden Anzahl (heute leider nicht selbstverständlich) und Ausbildungsqualität ihres Personals.

Ach ja, die Schwalben in der Tiefgarage haben uns als Tierfreunde auch sehr gefallen!

Udemærket hotel, som vi kun havde en overnatning på, på vej hjem fra sommerferie. Flot reception, super flinkt personale og generalt god service. Lækker morgenmadsbuffet og god mulighed for at parkere lige under receptionen. Værelset var også ok, men blev skæmmet noget af store pletter på gulvtæppet, og en ringe lugt på badeværelset, formentlig fra afløbet (værelse 101).

Vores to teenage drenge boede på værelse 105, og her var der ikke disse problemet, så alt fint her.

Unfreundliches und überfordertes Personal in einem Hotel das dringend renoviert werden muss. Man hat trotz geschlossenem Fenster alles von draußen gehört. Nach einer Beschwerde an der Rezeption sagte man mir dass das Hotel ausgebucht ist und man nichts machen könnte.

Ein gepflegtes Haus mit stilvoller Atmosphäre – wir haben uns sofort wohlgefühlt. Besonders positiv: die gemütliche Bar für den Ausklang am Abend, die Schwimmhalle und der Fitnessbereich – das morgendliche Schwimmen war ein echtes Plus. Auch das Frühstücksbuffet war ausgezeichnet und ließ keine Wünsche offen.

Unser Zimmer war komfortabel, mit bequemen Betten und ausreichend Stauraum. Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt: Die Klimaanlage bzw. Lüftung kühlte nicht richtig – hier wäre etwas Nachbesserung wünschenswert. Ansonsten: ein wirklich gelungenes Hotel – wir kommen gern wieder.
