Welcoming start at reception. Requested extra pillows, handed them at the reception desk. Told we could not eat in hotel because of staffing issues and we had not made a reservation. Bar closed at 9pm due to staffing issues. Thrown out of the lounge at 10pm due to staffing issues. English not widely spoken even though Hotels.com said it was. Beds uncomfortable and very noisy outside our room from cycling guests.

Most restaurants in local area closed for holidays or had a very limited menu. Area too quiet for tourists.

While we didn't stay long (really just an overnight stop), we found the people friendly and the property was safe. We arrived late and had a difficult time finding the entry door (Google maps sent us to the back side). Our room was clean and check-in was easy.

A Great Place to Stay near Regensburg!

We only stayed one night when passing through en route to UK, but the hotel was very comfortable and well placed for the motorway. Great food and drink in the bar/restaurant, and the staff were very friendly and helpful, even lending me a jug to top up my car washer fluid with water the next morning. Overall a very pleasant experience, and we would willingly stay there again if back in the area. Strongly recommended!

It's been the 3rd time we stayed in this hotel and many more to come. We pause our long journey for a night. The hotel is in a quiet little town only a few minutes drive from the A3 motorway, very easy to find. A nice, clean hotel, with comfortable rooms, friendly, professional staff.

Welcoming, Friendly & Good Restaurant

I only stayed in the Forsters Posthotel 1 night, but this was enough to leave a very good impression. I found the hotel staff to be friendly and welcoming, and the Bavarian Restaurant was excellent. If your driving in there than it's very easy to get to, without having to drive through Regensburg, and the hotel has it's own parking area with plenty of spaces. I don't have any short term plans to return to this area, but if that changes then I'd definitely be checking availability at this hotel.

What a Surprise

Cycle touring and it had been hot. The room was so good that we stayed another night. A very surprising experience because the photos suggested the room was a bit old and tired. It really wasn't. We were more then happy.

We ordered 1 double and 2 single beds with late checkin. We arrived around 20.00. The room was only with bed for two. 2 single beds were not ready. Reception desk\" So there is no tour beds in tour room\"? Agter getting 2 \"hostel\" single beds, we could enjoy 4 star room. Towels for our youngsters were also missing.

All the staff are professional and helpful. I requested Chang the room after the first night and they immediately responded and gave me a special one with larger window. The breakfast were rich and include whatever you like including fresh fruits and cereals ... etc. I used a rented car to go to the old town and to the thee parts of the city. if you enjoy the nature it's the finest place to stay in Regensburg area.

Quiet location with easy access to Regensburg

The hotel was easy to locate and had ample free parking. On arrival the reception staff were welcoming and check-in was smooth. Our room was large, if a little old fashioned, however our bathroom was tiny and had lots of resident spiders. Breakfast was plentiful and served in a spacious clean dining room. On our first night we also ate in the restaurant and were pleased with this food too. Unfortunately the 'fancy' restaurant wasn't open during our stay. The hotel stated that it had a gym, which it did but it was under renovation while we were there, which was a shame. Overall I think it's somewhere we'd stay again.

I stayed in the modern half. It was excellent. The only consideration is if you are in a double , make sure you are with your spouse since the glass shower inclosure gives you no privacy. BUT it is beautifully done and the front desk is very helpful.

Very close to Walhalla!

The hotel is clearly under construction when we checked in. Our window was block by plastic and some workers were still working outside of our window even though we were on the 3rd floor. I think it will be better they don't rent out those rooms that are still under remodeled. The lobby and the outdoor eating area has strong dog urine smell. But overall we like it because the room was very nice and quiet and the staff were helpful. The breakfast buffet was super. Though you must have a car or the location is really far from Regensburg. And the town is kind of sleepy. We found only 2 restaurants in town.

Good place to spend a night

This is a great stop over if you are travelling through Germany, just off the motorway to the south of Regensburg. It's in a pretty village on the edge of the Danube, which you cross from the motorway. It looked as though there was a cycle route and some nice walks from the hotel.

I was delighted to find it was so pleasant, the staff were incredibly helpful after an brief blip (see below), the food in their restaurant was delicious and the breakfast a good one, the only sour note was the coffee. However this did not seem to stop all the good German burghers, I was there midweek, from tucking in. It is clearly a popular option with the locals and I'd happily recommend it to couples for a weekend break.

if you have children they will be charmed by the rubber duck that welcomes you in your bathroom, though it will cost you €2 to keep it (if you are being honest and I was).

For this price I would expect a small kettle in the bedroom but the I am English and used to this sort of tea making facility, however I am finding that this is not the case in European hotels and so the kitchen staff kindly filled my hot-water bottle for me.

My first 'single' room was a huge suite of 4 rooms in the annex and I had to lug my bags up three flights of stairs. I must have arrived at a bad moment but as soon as I mentioned that I was unlikely to sleep in full light I was shown several other options and by now the reception staff were more on the ball and someone helped me move.

Great hotel, great value

The people at the desk were so welcoming and helpful, walking us to our room and checking to make sure there was nothing else we needed. I loved that we had a refrigerator to store food. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious, with a nice sitting area, too. The only thing I would recommend is to request a room that is not adjacent to the kitchen. It was noisy late at night while they were cleaning up, rattling pots and pans, which is why I rated the comfort of the room lower than 5. The room itself was comfortable, but the noise was a factor. Other than that we loved our stay here. The breakfast was delicious, so many items to choose from!

Wir haben im August eine Nacht im Posthotel Walhalla in Regensburg verbracht, da wir auf der Durchreise waren.

Positiv:
•Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal.
•Kostenlose Parkplätze direkt vor dem Hotel, immer ausreichend verfügbar.
•Die Lage war für uns praktisch, da die Walhalla in der Nähe liegt.

Negativ:
•Das Familienzimmer war insgesamt sehr abgewohnt: Möbel stark veraltet, teilweise beschädigt, Teppich alt und mit unangenehmem Geruch.
•Der Fernseher war sehr alt.
•Keine Klimaanlage im Zimmer – tagsüber war es extrem heiß und stickig, nachts ging es nur mit offenem Fenster (zum Glück keine Mücken).
•Frühstück insgesamt eher lieblos: Auswahl ausreichend, aber wenig ansprechend präsentiert. Besonders störend: verschimmelte Mandarine im Obstkorb.
•Kein Service beim Gepäck oder Begrüßung – niemand half beim Einchecken oder mit Koffern.

Fazit: Für eine Nacht auf der Durchreise war es in Ordnung, vor allem wegen der Lage und des Parkplatzes. Für einen längeren Aufenthalt würden wir dieses Hotel jedoch nicht wieder wählen, da der Komfort und der Zustand der Zimmer nicht überzeugen konnten.

Das Hotel liegt super zentral. Bus nach Regensburg fährt vor der Tür. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in 5 Min zu Fuß. Burgruine und schöne Landschaft in 5 Min zu Fuß zu erreichen. Wer nicht im Hotel Essen möchte, hat 4 Gaststätten (Grieche, Italiener, gutbürgerliche deutsche Küche) fussläufig in 5 Min in der Nähe. Das Hotel selbst ist gepflegt. Direkt hinterm Haus parkähnlicher, kostenfreier, öffentlicher Parkplatz. Unser Zimmer war toll. Was will man mehr. Preis-Leistung passt.

Schönes Hotel an schöner Lage. Habe vorab eine Nachricht vom Hotel erhalten, dass die Küche bis 21h offen sei. Um 19:45 gabs nur noch einen Teller Pasta… Frühstücken konnte ich am Morgen danach relativ grosszügig. Tolles Buffet. Um 8h morgens war das Buffet leergeräumt und es wurde für die anderen Gäste nicht ausgefüllt. 1person an der Rezeption, 1Person in der Küche können nicht alles machen; hiess es als sich Gäste beklagten…. Kostenlose Parkmöglichkeiten vorm Hotel, nettes Personal. Die Gemeinschaftsräume sind modern eingerichtet.
Zimmer eher rustikal eingerichtet, Bad winzig, kein Wasserkocher. Obwohl die Heizung aus und teilweise das Fenster offen war, war es im Zimmer immer warm. Das Obst beim Frühstück war alt und matschig, die Brötchen waren teilweise hart.

Wegen Personalmangel ist die Rezeption nur eingeschränkt besetzt. Restaurant und Bar sind geschlossen. Frühstück war gut, für jeden Geschmack etwas am Buffet, auch für Nachschub wurde laufend gesorgt.
Bei unserer Ankunft um 20 Uhr, haben wir nach Aushändigung der Schlüsselkarte festgestellt, dass unser Zimmer nicht gemacht war. Bett nicht gemacht, Bad nicht geputzt, Mülleimer voll etc.
Wir hatten Glück und der sehr nette Herr, der noch an der Rezeption war, hat sich vielmals entschuldigt und wir bekamen ein anderes Zimmer, sogar inkl. Upgrade. Das daraufhin bezogene Comfortzimmer war groß, sauber und dem 4Sterne Haus würdig. Wir haben sehr gut geschlafen und würden auf jeden Fall wieder dort übernachten.

Zeer warm, geen airco in de kamers

Hotel receptie was al om 20.00 uur gesloten, dit wisten we niet. Sleutel/kaart van de kamer was gelukkig wel klaargelegd.
Toen we in de kamer kwamen was het ontzettend warm en geen airco, alleen maar een ventilator. Ramen moesten heke nacht open blijven om bertje verkoeling te krijgen. Maar duurde lang!

hotel muy completo: fàcil aparcamiento, restaurante, bar, biergarten. Edificio constituido por diferentes cuerpos de habitaciones (antiguos y modernos).
Experiencia en el lugar adequado: aparcamiento fàcil y gratuito en frente hotel. Atención profesional, sin empatia. Nos ha tocado la peor habitación del hotel. Si bien era correcta de superficie, mobiliario y baño. Sin vistas, muy calurosa ( encima cocina), aparato ruidoso de aire acondicionado que no refrigerava. Una habitación sauna. Dormir con ventana abierta con carretera cercana. La única suerte es que la ventana disponia de tela mosquitera.
No tuvimos suerte con el restaurante. No nos dieron de cenar porque no teniamos reserva previa ( parecia disponer de mucho espacio). Un hotel con buenas habitaciones, con restaurante y con aparcamiento, en el que no tuvimos suerte ni encaje.

Zunächst war unsere Buchung über 3 Juniorsuiten nicht da! Die Suiten waren an andere Gäste vermietet!Es war wohl ein neu aufgespieltes Update schuld! Immerhin bekamen meine Kinder mit Partner je ein Comfortzimmer und wir eine Suite! Leider wurde die Suite am ersten Tag nicht gereinigt, nur das Bett frisch gemacht! Um dies am späten Nachmittag! Nach Beschwerde wurde dann am folgenden Tag zu unserer Zufriedenheit geputzt! Der Wellnessbereich ist klein, aber fein und ausreichend! Leider konnten wir im Hotel nicht zu Abendessen, da sie keinen Platz mehr hatten, und dies obwohl ich 3 mal vor dem Urlaub angerufen habe und wegen Essen im Hotel nachgefragt hatte und es mir zugesichert wurde! Antwort bekam ich auch erst beim 3.Anruf! Das Versprechen mich zurückzurufen wurde nicht eingehalten!! Leider wurde beim Frühstücksbuffet nur schleppend aufgefüllt! Brötchen mussten aufgebacken werden! Das dauerte! Auch Gläser, Teller, Kaffee etc, gab es nach Nachfrage! Die Servicekräfte waren total überfordert! Sie waren auch nur zu zweit! Jedoch waren sie super freundlich und sehr bemüht! Also eine 4 Sternehotel in der Einrichtung, aber 1Stdrn für das Management

Kurztrip nach Regensburg

Sehr schönes, modernes und gepflegtes Gebäude. Parkplätze im Hof sind begrenzt aber davor großer öffentlicher Parkplatz.
Tolles Frühstück und großer Fitnessraum. Sauna haben wir nicht besucht. Zimmer war unter dem Dach - sicherlich im Sommer sehr war.
Fenster war mit Fliegengitter + Kühlschrank ausgestattet und zwei Flaschen Wasser standen bereit.
War soweit alles okay, wir würden wieder anreisen.

Lidt uvenlig modtagelse.
Ingen mulighed for aftensmad, der manglede personale i køkkenet. Hotellet reklamerede med opladningsmulighed for elbil på hotellet. Det var en offentlig stander, hvor man skulle have et kort, og så var den optaget.

Das Hotel an sich ist schön aber einige Zimmer sind genau zur Strassenseite gerichtet und da kann man nachts bei dieser Hitze leider kein Fenster öffnen. Desweiteren muss ich bei diesem Besuch das Nichtfunktionieren der Klimaanlage bemängeln. Trotz Reklamation wurde der Fehler nicht behoben. Schlecht bei 33 Grad und Zimmer zur Strassenseite. Frühstück war wieder sehr abwechslungsreich und das Personal sehr freundlich. Beim nächsten Besuch würde ich auch gern in der gebuchten Zimmerkategorie ein Zimmer erhalten. Alles in allem ist das Hotel zu empfehlen.

Väldigt dålig service!!

Fick inget varmt välkomnande i receptionen inget leende och gav oss först bara en rumsnyckel fast vi va fyra i familjen så jag fick fråga om ett extra när man brukar få två i de flesta hotell. Vi hade en svit efter ha läst andras recensioner att vissa rum inte hade ac så valde jag ett dyrare rum som hade ac men den va ju kass. Funkade dåligt i sovrummet och den verkade va en gammal modell som funkade lite när den ville så man svettades ibland och frös ibland. Minibaren bjöds på två vattenflaskor men ingen läsk för att vara svit. Dåligt utbud på frukost för att vara ett fyrstjärnigt hotell och dålig service. Verkade inte bry sig om utländska turister för det va mest de tyska som fick frågan om kaffe på morgonen och det va dåligt med plats i frukostrummet/restaurangen så ena dagen fick vi sitta i foajén men inte ens där fick vi sitta var vi ville. Mest pensionärer som bodde här vid denna tid. Kändes absolut inte som den förtjänade fyra stjärnor. Restaurangen på hotellet hade litet utbud och va dyra så fick gå till Guesthouset vid sidan om som hade bättre priser och mer folk som åt där.

Ingen menu mulig i halvdelen af tiden

Vi var stillet i udsigt at kunne få menu i de 4 dage opholdet varede, men de 2 af dagene var dette ikke muligt, da hotellet havde selskaber, som lagde beslag på køkken-kapaciteten -men de dage, vi kunne spise, var maden helt OK. Manglende kommunikation til medarbejdere var skyld i 2 dages aflysning. Komfortværelse var ualmindelig varmt, så delvis aircon kan ikke bruges til noget. Fine opbevaringsforhold til vore (dyre) cykler.

Prisvärt i charmig miljö

Tolles Frühstück, großes Badezimmer, gute Matratzen. Allerdings 6,80 Euro für eine Flasche Wasser zum Mitnehmen ist heftig, hatten aber am Sonntag keine andere Wahl.

Man sollte die Zimmerbeschreibung ändern

Leider sind nur wenige Zimmer mit Klimaanlage ausgestattet obwohl in den Zimmerbeschreibungen das aufgeführt wird. Zimmer waren daher muffelig und zu heiß. Bekam dann 2x ein anderes Zimmer angeboten. Das 2 war auch ohne Klima

Schönes und sauberes Hotel.
Jedoch gibt es etwas Kritik. In der Hotelbeschreibung steht klimatisiert, dies bezieht sich wohl lieder nur auf die Lobby.
Das Zimmer war sehr warm und ein erholsamer Schlaf war schwer möglich.
