The beach was great for swimming. Staff all wonderful and friendly. We were there 5 days and they ran out of lounge chairs 1day but it is high season. We booked 6 mon in advance but didn’t get 2 huts side by side which is my only complaint. Breakfast included was nice and good

The places does not get the reviews it should. We almost cancel and so glad we didn't. Great beach, great location, great staff. The grounds are well looked after and staff always on hand, cleaning and seeing to the gardens. The accommodation was simple but enough. I'd stay again

The standout attraction of this resort is the stunning beach where it is located. Quieter and more exclusive feeling than neighbouring beaches, this one is a real gem. Just three resorts, with Tubtim at the far end.

I was in a balcony garden view room which was spacious and really comfortable. Nice and light and bright. As others have said, it is up a lot of steps, and the path up there is not lit, take a torch! The shower pressure is non-existent, so don’t expect much.

The customer service is very patchy, from the downright rude and unhelpful, to the lovely and can’t do enough to assist.

There is a rather odd system where you have to drop your key at reception if you want your room serviced. And then all keys are left out once cleaning has been done, so there is no key security.

They don’t overcrowd the beach with loungers, but as a result there aren’t enough. Unless you get down there at 7 am to stake your claim with a towel, you risk not being able to get one. I wasn’t given a coherent reason why they don’t have more loungers. Getting deck chairs is easier, just ask at the bar and they will set you up a couple with an umbrella. Grab a small seat cushion from the barbecue area. The loungers are hard as stone, and for some inexplicable reason don’t have full length cushions, so you could have a very uncomfortable day on one. I favoured the deck chairs.

The breakfast is distinctly average.

All in all I would definitely stay here again largely because of the location.

We loved our stay at Tubtim, so much that we stayed an extra 2 nights. We had previously stayed at Wong Duen beach and also explored other bays on the island by scooter/walking, but this was by far our favourite. We had a garden view fan room, which was lovely and suited our needs. We saw amazing birds around the grounds including hornbills and drongos.

The prices for food and drink, including in the shop, were a bit higher than other areas, but when you factor in that everything has to be brought by boat the additional cost is to be expected.

The included breakfast was delicious and well above what we expected, with lots of choice and great quality. The onsite bar and restaurant were also lovely.

I would stay here again without hesitation.

Tubtim has by far the best proximity to the beautiful beach as any resort on the island!

The cabins feel bigger than the photos portray..
The breakfast spread is great...
The staff is kind and attentive...

For the price, this is THE value steal of the island.

TubTim is always our \"go-to\" place for Koh Samed. It has a wonderful beach with shallow, clean, warm water. The view is terrific, especially from the \"N\" class bungalows, and the staff are excellent. This is a terrific \"value for price\" property on Koh Samed; one that we return to often.

The room was simply decorated, basic but with all necessities including a small fridge (already stocked with water) and very clean. Comfortable bed. Be mindful to book a room with Aircon as rooms are also available with fan only (it's hot!). Staff are friendly and helpful, I didn't actually eat here just had coffee at breakfast time and it's a lovely area to sit and contemplate your day ahead!

In summary, was average in the low. of i return to the area, i would try another hotel rather this one. There are one standing thing: the restaurant habe a good taste. we tasted several dishes and they were good (green curry with shrimp was my favorite),unfortunately, the service was poor... they were not rude, but they never were attending the table after taking the order... The bungalow was disappointing, bad mattraces, one AC was not working but it was fixed afyer we reported it. internet was mostly out if you are out of your room. Taking a taxi to downtown is pricy (relatively speaking)

So this is a great location, with decent restaurant and breakfast. Friendly staff, but sometimes service is slow. The room price can vary quite a bit as they can get busy. As with a lot of places I stay there are usually a lot of little things that could be improved.
Water pressure in some rooms is poor, restaurant and menu is ok but not great. I suggest less options but better quality. And the same goes for breakfast, who actually likes ham in water ? Or cold fried eggs ? Anyone ? Why have food trays with heat lamps and then don’t light the lamps ?
This place has repeat clients. I am one of them. But they need to be more consistent.

Pros: the staff work extremely hard and the food in the restaurant is excellent. Massages on the beach also excellent. Amazing birdsong.
Cons: the resort is not that picturesque. The rooms are functional, but quite basic and not nicely designed. The beachfront is visually quite messy and there are a lot of people crowding onto the beach, with far too few sun loungers to go around. People get up early to put their towels on the loungers, which is not an enjoyable vibe. There’s a fire display (young men juggling with fire) every evening, which may not be to everyone’s taste - and which generates an overpowering smell of petrol while you’re eating your food. The crowd at this hotel is mainly retirees, so not a very glamorous spot, although certainly quiet at night. There are definitely nicer beaches on Koh Samet, so I based myself here (having pre-booked) but spent my days elsewhere.

Tubtim Beach is one of the great places in the world for a reclusive holiday.
It is a beautiful stretch of sand overhung by tropical rainforest trees. The newly opened Reef Lounge bar and restaurant nearby to Tubtim resort offers outstanding quality of food, drinks and service. Truly a wonderful part of Thailand on the eastern shore of Ko Samet. Not for the party crowd, this is somewhere to come and relax in nature.

check in was smooth and quick and overall the reception staff very good . nice bungalow not far from restaurant and reception ,booked garden view but dont know what they class as garden as we overlooked a roof. bed was comfortable ,shower pressure ok. nice to sit on landing but be warned mosquitos are rampart ,ask to borrow spray from reception and use lots of body spray.
breakfast was very disappointing ,everything was cold ,chicken sausages,ham and other things sitting in bain maries all cold. egg station was good with eggs to order but lots didnt see it as was in small building next to restaurant and if you didnt know you wouldnt notice it..need signs in main area for show where it is. all meals we had were quite good tho and service ok. also notice speed boats direct to hotel only run on weekends so you might have to take shared van or they try and get you to pay 200 baht for private use. we waited to more ppl arrived to share then only 50 baht. beach at hotel was great and not far to walk along beach to other restaurants.

5th time here. Seafront villa. New bathroom installed & very good job 👍. Food & restaurant service needs drastic improvement ...compared to the several dining choices around the area. Quite a lot of rubbish left in front of my room for the 3 days I was there. Staff not taking it away. Management could do with walking around the property to check. Overall though a very pleasant time at the magnificent beach resort with coral reef directly out the front. Have enjoyed your fishing dogs over the past 7 or do years 😀

Pretty decent experience. The beach nearby was pretty quiet, just far enough away from the village on the island where it was pretty quiet, but not so far away either. The staff was nice and the bungalow was clean. Wish the key locked both the locks on the room, cause locking when I left was kind of a pain (had to really shove the door close). Some decent food options with the restaurant at the hotel and a more upscale restaurant just next door with really awesome pizza. Probably would come back.

This is a very pleasant resort. The bay is absolutely beautiful. I booked for three nights and extended to seven.There are more elegant resorts but none have either the position or the simple, relaxed atmosphere of Tubtim. Staff are great. They even have a beach volleyball net. There are shops nearby but out of the way.

Beautifully situated in a cove that serves up warm, clear water, lush sands, beachfront housing, a delightful menu of Thai traditional favorites and Western options, and staff who are warm, welcoming, and helpful. English is spoken by many staff and they go out of their way to ensure your stay is enjoyable. Tubtim is situated on a very walkable beach that takes you to other venues, new beachfronts, water activities, and quick access to convenience stores (local and 7-11) and the main arrivals dock is just a short cab ride away. It is my 'happy, go-to place' when a break is needed from the day-to-day work hussle.

We did not get the Room that we booked, and they did not want to move us. They put us in the back of the property where there were no proper walk paths and we all have cuts and sores from stepping on roots and rocks.

Good hotel at the end of a stretch of beach (more quiet) but still close to a lot of restaurants. 100 meters to the beach which is clean. Basic amenities as expected from a bungalow of this type. Good service and decent food at their restaurant.

Just be aware when booking your return “speed boat” tickets, we were supposed to get picked up at our hotel but was told to walk to the pier. However the staff was kind enough to argue with the people who sold us the tickets and we were eventually picked up around 2 hour later.

The resort offered a quiet beachfront location in a jungle setting. The food was varied and delicious and the bar staff were helpful and fun. We spent a week relaxing at the resort and it was everything we expected. It gets a bit busier on Saturday night when lots of locals come over for the weekend but nothing to deter from the experience. Boats will pick you up from the beach to go to the islands.

The resort is located right in the beach. The beach is beautiful, with clean sand and turquoise water. There is absolutely no need to leave this beach, it has everything: a great restaurant that belongs to the resort, massage service right on the beach, bars, kayaks, tours. I mean why else do you need? :)
The only one minus is if you have a Lot of luggage and you didn't book rooms right on the beach, then you will have to work out quite hard to bring your luggage up the stairs ( a lot of them). No one helps with the luggage( it might be quite a challenge!

Tubtim Resort is not the newest resort on Koh Samet but the room I stayed in (a waterfront bungalow) was fresh, comfortable and very clean although there was no hot water provided in the hand basin.
The food and service at the beachfront bar/restaurant was excellent - relatively large serves and very tasty; the wait staff were friendly and attentive. The breakfast buffet was OK but nothing special.
I would definitely go back - loved it!

Only stayed here for a night but we wish it was longer than that! The cabins are great (nice bed, outdoor sitting area, shower/sink/toilet and safe). Air con as well. The food is brilliant at the bar they have and you can sit on the beach while having dinner. Breakfast is pretty good with both thai and european options. 5\5 from me!

I came to this resort 20 years ago and they have upgraded it tremendously! The food in the restaurant is delicious and fresh. The beach is clean and they have a raft further out that you can swim out to. The less positive points are that there are way too many noisy speed boats coming and going into the beach- they seem to come very close to people swimming in my opinion and there is an ugly, temporary pier made of dumped cement drain tubes on the beach. This was used one day whilst I was there to bring in huge bags of building materials for work they are doing inland on a water reservoir (a direct result of the massive amounts of tourists in the island, so necessary) . My shower could have done with being cleaner and I did ask for them to clean the shower head but I don't think they did! Overall though I was paying for the view which was fab, listening to the sound of the ocean from my bed was magical and this is definitely one of the best resorts in the island! I'd come back.

I was very disappointed about the level of service! The room I had booked had no AC so I had to pay double the amount! The beach has a big construction site taking 1/3 if tge beach and the other part is full of brown sea weed.
The service at the restaurant was extremely slow! Not a big selection for breakfast! Overall, as a hotelier (Training Manager/Quality Auditor) this place shouldn’t charge this high! Extremely disappointed!

Tubtim Resort

The Tubtim is not a hotel I would say it compares to glamping. Take plenty of Deet 95 with you as it is in a jungle and you will be bitten without it.Beautiful clean water and beaches.It is on an island 30 mins from Rayong by speedboat 500 THB return.

Next to Beach but so so Motel

Expedia calls this place Hotel but in fact it is in Motel Standards. Only good thing about the room is that it a cabin and private. The place is right on the Ao Phai beach but during my 3 day 2 night stay, the beach condition was not great so I actually walked to Ao Phrou Beach which is from about 25 minutes walk from Tubtim. If you motorbike, 5 minutes tops. Ao Phrou is much much better beach so eventhough Tubtim is right next to beach, I did not spent much time on Tubtim. The room is too small and plus had toilet smell inside, I got used it to after a while but first night was bothersome. The breakfast is not great, especially if you are western, nothing much you can eat except omelette.Hotel Staff is friendly, they let me late check out for 1 hour which most hotels don't do. Transportation from hotel to City Center is also problem, there is none available. Ko Samet is overall an expensive place but if you decided to go there,I would recommend getting hotel either on the other side of the island or all the way on the west. I have been couple islands of Thailand but Ko Samet was disappointing.

Excellent Two Week Stay!

This was my fourth visit to Tubtim Resort and once again I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The location, facilities, staff are all top notch! The well maintained property is located at the end of a quiet beach, yet within easy walking distance to many shops and other restaurants. The friendly staff makes you feel welcome...whether you are a fist-time visitor or repeat customer! The accommodations are clean and comfortable and the food is well prepared and affordable.

well run with a lovely location

We thought Tubtim was very well run - with efficient and friendly service - and in a great location. It was easy and enjoyable to explore further coves going away from the \"busy end\" and there were plenty of options to eat and rink. accommodation is straightforward with no frills, but very comfortable and more than enough for a few days. We enjoyed the breakfast, again with a lovely location overlooking the sea, and it was noticeable how efficient the staff were in cleaning tables and refilling coffee etc. reception was very efficient and getting to and away from the resort via speedboat was very easy and added an extra dimension to our stay

Definitely will go back to Tubtim Resort

Great quiet beautiful beach of Koh Samed.
Stayed in a beach front bungalow ‘T Section’...basic but clean & awesome view!
Many places to eat/drink nearby if you do not want to eat at Resort...though food & prices were very good at resort!
