The proprty is somewhat isolated so be aware you will needs a taxi if you want to shopping or dining outside the property. The beach is noice and the property is clean and well maintained. The rooms although dated were clean and comfortable. This would be a good place for couples or families.

A GREAT WEEKEND MARRED BY A STUPID CONFRONTATION

I had a fantastic stay at Ao Cho. Everything went really well until check out. This was because they said I had drank 2 bottles of Evian that day and I believed I had only 1. Now we are talking 47 Baht here! However the Resident Manager Chayut Narkprasit, insisted we check and he then produced a full bottle of Evian which I had left in the room, as I believed it wasn't open, and on scrutiny said 'this has been opened'. I was a bit miffed, (not to mention embarrassed as the reception area was quite busy) and stated that if I had used it I am more than willing to pay the 47B!
After spending over 9200B for the weekend I was truly appalled at his manner that he insist that I pay 47B for a bottle of water. This was obviously a genuine error on my part and would have taken the water if I knew/remembered I had opened it. It really was an unnecessary confrontation that marred an otherwise fantastic weekend away. However, Mr Narkprasit should know that because of his attitude and, in my opinion, unprofessional manner, when I choose to return to Koh Samet, (which I will often as I now live in Bangkok, he and his resort will not be receiving any other custom from me! There are plenty of amazing resorts on Koh Samet and he should have the understanding that treating paying guests in such a manner is totally unacceptable.

Great View! The balcony is adjacent to the beach.
I booked the Honeymoon room and its same with photo on expedia. The breakfadt is soso.
What I love most is that I can enjoy the private beach, just enjoy my time there with the lovely cat. When I want some drink I can just walk 20 seconds to the bar and get a drink.
I think I will visit it again next year

Nice, quaint resort. Transportation to Resort is door-step delivery. The massage therapist is outstanding. The rooms are tasteful. Lack of hot water renders the bathtub somewhat obsolete. Rented a scooter through hotel and explored the beautiful island. Nice sunset views from scenic park on south end of Island. I would welcome a return trip to this property.

Quieter Beach

We were a family with grandparents, parents and a small child. This quieter beach with no tour boat drop offs was a good option for us. The beach is within sight of all the rooms and the grounds well kept.

Lovely hotel in a secluded bay

This hotel is right on the beach at Ao Cho. The bay is secluded and it is the only hotel. The restaurant is open plan and tables and chairs are set on the beach. The rooms are in bungalows some facing the beach but most behind. They have lovely walk in showers and air con plus mosquito nets. There are wardrobes with drawers and on the patio table and chairs. There is a massage area which faces the beach. The hotel has kayaks to hire.The bay is very good for swimming as it gets deep quickly and the sand is very soft.it is an easy walk over the headland to Ao Wong Dueon beach with a selection of cafes and restaurants

Lovely little resort in a beautiful location. Excellent friendly staff in all capacities (front desk, bar, wait, cleaning, maintenance etc.) Great breakfast every day. Clean room with large, clean bathroom.
Definitely would stay again.
@management: One minor thing - there are good quality curtains on most of the windows, except for the frosted glass windows that face the external walkways, which are *lit up at night* (at least for rooms A5 & A6.) While it was lots of fun to improvise curtains out of the cupboard door & dressing gowns, might I suggest putting some curtains or blinds over these particular windows.

A great place to escape to

We had a fantastic stay at the hotel staying in one of the Ocean Front Suites. The room was spacious and very comfortable and nature took care of the amazing view! The hotel staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. The beach is clean and although not a massive amount to see, we enjoyed some snorkelling just off shore. We look forward to returning!

We had a very nice stay for 5 days. The hotel staff was very nice, the room was perfect very big bed and the bathroom was also more than big enough.
The beach and views are beautiful, quiet, and very relaxing. Restaurant was good but there are also other choices near by. We will be back to stay here again.

Definitely on a quiet and secluded part of the island. It was extremely relaxing to get away from the crowds, though it took some effort and cash to get there (ferry 100B, taxi 100B, park entrance fee 200B)
The hotel itself has clean and very comfortable bungalows and from walking around much much nicer than any of the neigbouring accommodations. There is a pretty private beach right out front.
The hotel has a restaurant for lunches, dinners and drinks but can get a bit monotonous.
English ability of the staff is quite low and limited.

There are 3 or 4 braces within 2/3 minutes walk. My Kingsize bed was made up of two single beds joined together, covered with the King sheet! Bathroom had one hot and one cold shower shower heads. No hands free showers! (a resort?). The so-called robes were Winter wear in 90F (35C) degree temperatures, virtually, useless. The sleepers provided were used by dozens of guests before me, again, virtually useless. Generous supplies of shampoo, conditioner, body soap,tooth brush, paste, lotion. It is two star resort at the price of four star.

Close to the beach in quiet bay

Location is the best thing about the resort on a sandy bay where you can swim regardless of the tide. Basic sun longed and umbrellas on the beach.
Most of the staff seemed disinterested which seems to a theme Samet.
Breakfast OK but a lot of flies and they didn't cover the food well.
Had a room next to some kind of drain so often a bad smell when sitting on the deck
Lots of mosquito and sandfly
A few other bars and restaurants on the beach but if you want be more entertained talk a walk over the headland to the very busy Wongduan beach.
Best for the peace and quiet but not too far away from more action if that's what you want

Was supposed to have a king bed but it was to singles pushed together,most of the tv channels not work,WiFi hardly worked,main bathroom light bulb died told reception but nothing happened as with all things mentioned above and the bathroom was so hot in the afternoon it was like walking into a sauna tried to take the kayak out booked a time but no one showed up went to reception and they knew I wanted the kayak but still nothing happened so gave up after 15 minutes

A Lovely Beach Hideaway!

This was our second stay at Ao Cho Grandview Hideaway and it is wonderful! The bungalows are very nice, though ours was meant to have a king size bed, and actually had two beds pushed together. But the beach is lovely and the food and drinks are very good. The beach is definitely more secluded than those further north, which is what we were looking for.

I have stayed in the hotel in November and it was quite disappointing for what I have paid. The rooms are old, the staff only knows few basic words in English (for example I had no bed sheets in my bed and I asked twice in the reception and got towels instead). The staff was also not nice(no welcome upon check in, no good morning during breakfast...etc.)
The breakfast is very basic..the beach was nice!!
So the only good thing basically was the beach, I also inquired about a bigger room and was told I had to pay 300Euros (12000 TBH extra per night) for a room upgrade which was ridiculous for a 3 star hotel..

First be mindful of the taxi service to and from the Island. If you wish to get there fast, then of course look for it to be a higher price. The lower the price, the longer it takes. Staff does speak english, at least enough to be able to communicate. Breakfast is fair having both Thai and English breakfasts. To get around, use taxi service. Be mindful of the traffic if you choose to walk or rent a motorbike. The local traffic is pretty fast and dangerous for such a small place. Everything is more expensive on the island. They do have stores so if you choose to get your own spirits instead of getting it at the hotel you can. Overall a very pleasurable and relaxing experience. Oh, the beach is sort of rocky but if you move to the other side of the pier on the same beach, there are less rocks.

Very pleasant little slice of Paradise

We spent two nights at the Ao Cho Grandview Hideaway.

First off....getting there.

We rode the minivans from Victory Monument in Bangkok to Bon Phe (3.5 hour drive in a hot van) and then when we got to Bon Phe, we were told there were not enough people for the ferry to go so we had to take a speed boat. The speed boat was driven by a teenager who drove too fast for the very choppy water conditions and those of us in the front had to hold on for dear life. I ended up with back pain and bruises all over my legs from slamming up and down. Sit in the back if you must take a speed boat. AND....make sure to tell them you need to go to the Ao Cho beach and don't mention the hotel name because there is another Grandview at another beach and they will drop you there where it is a pricy taxi ride to Ao Cho.

As for the hotel, we had one of the modern ocean side suites and it was very nice. My complaints would be that you can only have the AC on when you are in the room unless you pay a second $500 Bat deposit for a second room key, so it gets very hot in the room and takes awhile to cool down. And...they do not give you enough towels. Also the lounge chairs are not comfortable but we enjoyed sitting in the bean bag chairs once we pulled them into the shade.

Relaxing resort next to a beautiful beach. Staff were extremely helpful and managed to get us a good scooter to get around for 500 baht a day (which you will need since all the restaurants and services are far away). Sure there was a taxi stand next to the hotel, but booking your own bike was much more convenient solution.

Ideal place for relaxing, rooms were nice and clean, friendly & helpful staff and excellent breakfast! I will definitely come here again, thanks!

Good place, inept service.

Came with friends. Front desk was lovely & competent. Room was clean & basic -- if you are squeamish for ants and spiders, this is not the environment for you. Tropical & not much care to knock down cobwebs in the corner, etc. I didn't care, but if you're a little fancier, this could bother you.

Service at the restaurant was always hilarious, as the staff had little comprehension of the menu. Now, we visited mid week in low season, maybe this was the B-list staff......but considering one of our friends speaks fluent Thai & there was still a mistake/miscommunication *every single time we went to eat*....I'm sorry, but they need to step it up a bit.

Beach is quiet & lovely, with ample lounge space & not as busy and saturated with hotels as the nearby beaches are. This was the selling point for us & the best part of the trip.

It's an okay place with a beautiful beach

Upon arriving the Koh Samet island, we found out there's were several Grandview Resorts. Unfortunately, I think we were at the worst one. We accidentally went to the wrong resort, which was beautiful. We had to take a taxi to the hotel and were disappointed to see the entrance convered in nothing but trash. Not the grandest entrance. The resort was not really managed like a resort. More like a low budget hotel. Reading the description of the hotel it states there's a pool table and game room, which didn't exist. The idea of charging drinks, food, and services to the room was very odd to them. There was no phone in the room to order room service. Also, the bed and pillows were so hard it made sleeping very difficult. Also the broken window let in too many mosquitos. Changing rooms was more of a struggle than it was worth. I should mention it seem like we were in a older room. Seemed like there were newer rooms on the property. One last thing, the resort is located in an area that is not accessible to the other parts of the island. The only option is to take pricey cab rides to and from the hotel.
For the good stuff: staff was very friendly and accomodating, the free breakfast included was delicious as well as all their lunches and dinner, drinks were tasty as well, and beach alone was beautiful with warm clean water.
All in all it was an enjoyable stay (only two nights), but it did have some disappointing qualities I wasn't expecting.

On a great beach

The hotel can be accessed by a direct speed boat from the mainland in twenty minutes.
A slower boat (50 minutes) is another option at the next bay, giving you a ten minute walk.
The restaurant is on the beach and this is where breakfast is served.
All day dining too.
The room was well appointed with air-con and a mosquito net over the bed (although that wasn't necessary for the stay).
The beach is sandy and fairly quite, the sea is easily accessible with a gentle slope into it and calm enough to swim in.

Mysigt lugnt boende nära stranden. Huset vi bodde i var enkelt men rent. Jobbigast var kuddarna som var alldeles för tjocka.

Frukosten var tråkig men det fanns några fina restauranger på stranden. Det fanns två rastabarer med.

Sehr gut gepflegte Anlage, saubere Zimmer und sauberer Strand. Zum relaxen ideal, allerdings am Abend recht wenig am Strand geboten. Zimmer und Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Einzig das Frühstück könnte besser bzw. umfangreicher sein. So ist das Angbot von lokalen Speisen zwar gut, mag man jedoch keine Pilze, fallen gleich mal 3 Speisen weg. Somit bleibt dann nur noch ein eher spärliches interkontinentales Frühstück.

Geweldige ligging in rustige baai.

Prachtige ligging in een kleinere rustige baai. Mooie tuinen en aan het strand. Voldoende ligbedden voor alle gasten. Leuke aankomst met een speedboot aan het hotelstrand.
Jammer dat je tijdens het inchecken meteen wordt geinformeerd over alles wat NIET mag in het hotel en de bijbehorende boetes - dat vonden we niet erg gastvrij.
Klaarblijkelijk is dat nodig.
Hoewel voldoende, kan het algemeen serviceniveau (receptie, bediening) toch nog naar een hoger en beter bij de omgeving passend niveau getild worden.
De kamer was ruim en schoon - de badkamer was gedateerd o.a. douchen met aparte douchekoppen voor koud en warm water.

ビーチも目の前で綺麗な場所ですが。

タイトル通りですが、まず部屋担当のスタッフがXです。私がサメット島で利用したホテル（ここよりも全然安い）中で一番ダメ。使用済のカップやバスタオルを片付けない。タオルも２名宿泊なのに１枚しか交換しない。安宿でもないのでそれなりにしてほしいかなと。他のスタッフは普通に良いと思います。
レストランも他の方の書いてある通り高めだと思いますが、それよりも活気というかやる気があるのかなと。それほどの特別感もないので、わざわざそれに金額を払ってまでとは思わないです。その近くにあるビーチ沿いのレストランも同じ印象です。唯一隣のバーは、まだマシかと。プライベートビーチなのかわかりませんが、人も少なくロケーションは最高なだけ残念です。
あとハエと中国人が多いので気になる人は対策が必要です。

アオ湾は比較的小さくて静かな湾で、のんびりできます。このホテルはアオ湾では唯一ホテルらしいホテルです（あとのホテルはどちらかというとゲストハウス）。職員の感じはよくて、サービスもよかったです。ホテルの食事は、アラカルトメニューはそれほど高くもなく、味もよいです。アラカルトでオーダーするとおいしいのに、朝食はちょっと・・・ではありました（まあ十分ですが）。近くにミニマートもあります。

Många kackerlackor och sandflugor som biter sönder en när man ligger på solstolen. På 6 dagar kunde vi bada en dag därför att havet va otroligt smutsigt, bord, kanyler, medicinflaskor, sopkorg, skor och plast spolades upp på land. Kackerlacka landade på min axel under frukosten. Personalen arbetar hårt, är hjälpsamma och gör sitt bästa.
Sängkläder var inte rena när jag checkade in och bad om att det ska bytas. Städtjejen går in i Bungalowen bredvid och lånar deras nya sängkläder och byter ut mina sängkläderna sen tar hon dom smutsiga och bäddar in det i grannens bungalows, en finsk familj checkade sedan in där.
Mycket prostitution, flertal äldre europeiska män i sällskap av unga thailändska tjejer, regelbundet.
Omgivningen ser ut som en soptipp men så ser det ut överallt i koh samet.
Personalen på hotellet och turister borde ge matrester till hundarna. Hundarna är undernärda!
Wifi fungerar sällan.

高級な値段の割に残念

値段の割に最悪でした。
連泊のときには、掃除して下さいと札をかけてたのに、掃除をしてくれないので、フロントに言ってやっと掃除してもらったのですが、
トイレットペーパーは設置していかない
排水口は汚いまま
食器は綺麗になっていない。
あと、ディナーが高すぎると思います。

他の近くのレストランに行きましたが、
そこも値段の割に味がイマイチ
バイクは1日500Bのみ

時間貸でもっと安く借りてみたかったです。
リゾート地なので周りも物価は高いので
仕方ないのかもしれませんが、
口コミをみて、期待してただけに、残念でした。
あと、お部屋でのWi-Fiが繋がりませんでした。

Spiaggia piccola, molto tranquilla e pulita, ideale per relax. In 10 minuti di motorino, si può raggiunge facilmente Sai Kaew beach, una spiaggia grande ed affollata con vari ristoranti direttamente sulla spiaggia.

9 dagar här var för långt. Bodde i svit vid havet med utsikt. Bungalov bra med ej bord/stol fanns. Ensligt ställe med ganska dålig bar/krog på hotell.Fanns inte mycket på denna strand/vik. Men går man söderut ca 500 meter till nästa strand/vik finns ca 7-8 bättre kogar. Men annars måste man till huvud orten där mycket mera finns. Boende alldeles för dyrt för vad dom erbjöd. Vi är mycket resvana och detta kommer vi ej till baka till. Kan vara ok för romantik par 2-3 dagar som vill vara själva. Nu till Korat, Bangkok, Vietnam, Bali......Mats

Lovely beach & peaceful resort, but weak wifi

A lovely place and beach, but two disappointments at arrival:
1) wifi not working properly in room - you cannot work here as planned
2) Misleading marketing of special benefits at Hotels.com: \"Room rate Including dinners for two\" means just during one evening, and \"Room rate including two free drinks (per day)\" means afternoon tea during one day, not during your stay of 10 days in our case. Misleading information makes you angry, pls specify more clearly in the future! Write: \"Room rate including afternoon tea for two persons during one day of your stay, etc.\", \"Rom rate including one free dinner for two persons during your stay, etc.\"

Vi bodde 20 nätter på Ao Cho.Lugnt och bra ställe om man ville varva ner. Trevlig personal. Önskade man större utbud av barer och restauranger var det bara fem minuters gångväg till detta. Vi kan absolut återvända till detta ställe. Utanför resorten är det väldigt med skräp men inom området var det bra.

Ett fantastiskt läge men servicen i restaurangen och baren var usel mestadels pga extremt usla språkkunskaper hos personalen. Maten har varit bättre tidigare år men är fortfarande acceptabel.

Fantastisk beliggenhed, stille og roligt med små restauranter på stranden. 5 gang til anden dejlig strand med mange restauranter. Lige uden for hotellet kan man leje en motorcykel/scooter for mellem 300-400 bath for en dag. Man kan sagtens nå øen rundt til de forskellige strande og udsigtspunktet på en dag. Det koster 750 Bath for begge veje at sejel til Koh Samet og Du/I bliver sejlet direkte til hotellet.

落ち着いて過ごせるホテル

バンコクから1泊の小旅行で、スピードボートにてホテル直行の予定だった為、アクセスは気にならず、寧ろアオチョーと一言伝えればグランドビューと一発で理解してもらえて初サメット島の初心者には安心だった。
シュノーケルツアー手配や、帰りのスピードボートのピックアップ時間の確認など、フロントスタッフが色々と気にかけてくれて、万事スムーズで助かりました。
他のコメントの通り、ビーチの目の前にあるレストランにハエや蚊（特に夜）は出ますがロケーション的に止むを得ず（恐らく他のホテルも大差ないと思われ）、代わりに落ち着いたビーチを前にゆったりリゾート気分で食事が出来るならアリでした、また利用したいです。

海は最高！

ビーチは最高でした！ほぼプライベートビーチだし、海岸もかなりきれいでした。
ホテルのレストランがガッカリでした。出てくるのは遅いし味もイマイチ。
ホテル全体的に蚊の対策が足りないなぁと感じました。

Alles Spitze nur Abzug in der B-Note

Das Resort ist echt super und ich würde es jede empfehlen. Die Anlage ist sehr sauber, wird super in Schuss gehalten und das Personal ist sehr höflich.

Dennoch gibt es Abzüge in der B-Note.
- Zimmer war erst nach 16:00 wieder aufgeräumt.
- Die Dame vom Massageservice war gegen 15:00 nicht mehr Verfügbar, da sie einfach heimgegangen ist, wegen zu geringer Kundschaft am Tag
- Nachspeise war nur eine von ca. 6 Stück auf der Karte vorhanden, nicht mal Eis gab es.

We almost turned around. Huge water pools blocked the access road. Smelly garbage dump at entrance to resort. Many stray dogs at the park. Dog with 7 pups living under terras/bungalow. Fighting/barking during both nights around 01:00.

都会から離れて一日のんびり。アクセスは△

部屋もきれいですし、プライベートビーチやマッサージ、食事とお酒も充実しているので、リゾート気分には事足りません。
但し、島内でもかなり南のほうにあり、その他の飲食店や施設への移動は徒歩ではできません。
タクシーやレンタバイクは常駐しておりますので、お金さえあれば困りませんが、ふらっと散歩して楽しめるようなものはホテルの徒歩圏内にはありません。
宿泊費がやすいので、リゾート気分をゆっくり味わいたい方には◎。
ダイビングや散策などアクティビティ重視の方は△といったところです。

Strand for oss selv.

Levde opp mot sitt navn :-) Vi var der siste uka i juni. Lavsesong, turister og de som var der solte seg ikke :-) fin frokost - husk å spør etter det du ønsker på en vanlig frokost - du får det. Barna elsket gratis kajak. Reis over på vestsiden en dag - du må ligge på håndkle - men fin restaurant og bra snorkling - vi fant fine koraller og fisk på venstre side av stranden. Besøk nabostranden, mer liv om kvelden. Nyt roen!

プライベートビーチ

海が部屋のすぐそばで、プライベートな感じのビーチが非常に良かった。
シュノーケリングセットなどを、どこで借りられるのか案内もないため残念だった。
静かに海を楽しみたい人にはすごく良いホテルだと思います。
