The hotel is fine. I think that’s probably all I can really say about it. Will I return; most definitely not. There’s a clear need for a general manager change. the GM was invisible in all senses. However, the Resort Manager was present and visible. We had numerous issues through the trip - including both lost laundry, a room change due to the insects in the area. The food is passable but that’s all that can really be said. Koh was nice however the menu is limited. Pla pla menu needs a complete refresh. There is very little in the way of options and we regularly heard other guests making meals up as the options were so poor! If one restaurant ran out of something, then no effort was made to move between outposts. The spa facility was excellent and we had numerous treatments both in the spa and at the house and they were all great. The property is in clear need of modernisation throughout and improvements to cleanliness. You’d regularly go to a toilet at a restaurant and find poo in the bowl or a frog sat in the same place for days. This property lets Four Seasons down. It is playing completely on the TV show and forgetting that guests need a reason to be there. If there were more flights out of the island, we would have checked out early and left the island.
One thing about the island - it’s cheap tourism so when you leave the hotel you’re met with a sea of marijuana shops. Go elsewhere! Don’t waste your money as we did.

Our last stop in Thailand after stops in the north, Bangkok and Krabi and the Four Seasons was just what we needed to relax and recoup for a few days. Our first time to Koh Samui and the Four Seasons was so tranquil and serene and a nice break away from the crowds on the rest of Koh Samui, an island unto itself.

The villa and resort were everything you could want to unwind for a few days. Stayed at several other 5 star hotels and resorts during our trip, but this was by far our favorite and if we ever return to Thailand would definitely stay again.

Couple of minor disappointments. Booked the room about a week prior to our stay because our schedule was fluid, but we did not receive any communications from the Four Seasons until a few days prior to arrival and because we were traveling, we did not get to respond to their email on time to advise that we were staying as part of our 25th wedding anniversary trip. Also missed the email advising to download the resort app, so we could make dinner and massage reservations for the first evening. Lastly, on our last day, we had an evening flight from Koh Samui, and we asked to have a late check out by one extra hour. We were politely told the best they could do was half an hour. Understand they need to prepare the villa for the next guest, but felt like this was not a huge ask.

The staff was friendly and amazing. My wife had a beachside massage and got bit by something on her face, but she was checked on repeatedly by staff

Stunning property with equally stunning prices. We stayed also at the Nearly identical new Four Seasons property in Vietnam, and the in-resort prices were double at Koh Samui. For example, the least expensive bottle of wine was $120. In Vietnam, it was $45. There are many restaurants and wine shops right outside the hotel. And cabs are easy to get. So we just went out every night. In Vietnam, we ordered food and wine all week long. For more than 1K a night, it was just a little cheeky and felt like we were being gouged. They lost a lot of business.

Beautiful property with nice private beach. Not a very walkable resort due to hillside construction but buggy service was usually prompt and convenience. Premier Villa room was very nice but not as expected from the website description - the pool was located to the side in the shade most of the day and not infront of the villa as depicted. There was also a wrap around railing obstructing the view which was disappointing.

Everything was beyond expectation. The only unfortunate problem was that the food was less than acceptable. We have stayed at many of the four season properties globally and have always found the food to be great if not then at least decent but unfortunately the food at Koh samui property was not good at all. Very unfortunate but otherwise everything else is wonderful and just perfect. The service is true to the four season brand. Will be back again but will make arrangement for meals outside the property.

A Place You Never Want to Leave

What an amazing place. You feel so zen that you don't want to leave. It's very secluded and it does has a downside to that. You are about 20-40 mins from the main areas if you do want to explore the town a little. Other than that, it was a very pleasurable experience.

I spent a 3 day weekend at the resort and loved it. The villa was amazingly private and serene. I felt the privacy, but loved that I could order something, get something from the mini bar, or get a buggy to the beach. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming, like family. The villa was cozy and beautifully decorated and the private pool, was bigger than I expected. Loved the resort, I even encouraged my daughter to honeymoon there next year.

If there were a 6 rating, we would give it. Absolutely fabulous experience. As good as the facility was, the staff was even better. Knew us by name everywhere we went. At first we were concerned about the problems that the hillside location would present for getting around but it was no issue. Transportation was promptly available at any time. Would return in a heart beat.

Hidden Paradise within Thailand

We stayed in this resort last year as well and I remembered that it was extremely beautiful but once we arrived it exceeded my expectations.

The hotel generally meets our expectation to Four Seasons. The room is good and the view is spectacular. The Thai massage is the best Thai massage that I've tried so far. Hotel staff are generally friendly. However, the staff at the breakfast place in our last day were not very friendly. The guests in the next table also had the same feeling since I heard they were complained about the staff. But most of the staff in the hotel were very friendly.

Spectacular hotel, good service. They really gave a lot of thought for family travels and children. Room was cozy and the view of the ocean was relaxing. The in room pool was fine, although it was covered with leaves in the morning. The main pool was really well placed near the beach and offers a great view. Beach was a bit rocky in the water but at least we could walk on the clean shore. Breakfast wasn't included in our plan, so it took us some effort to get an understanding of the choices and cost (also due to the staff not really fluent in English). After the long wait for our choice of food, they gave us the wrong dish. Other than that the staffs were well trained and helpful. Beach bbq dinner along with dancing and fire show was phenomenal and highly recommended.

Magical place

This is a magical place that really lets you escape and unwind. The setting is one of the most dramatic I've experienced (only topped by Sugar Beach in St Lucia) - the villas and communal buildings dotted on a steep jungle mountainside that drops down to a secluded fine sandy beach. When you combine the Four Seasons perfectionism with the innate kindness and warmth of the Thai people, the service is as good as it gets. The villas are private and large with great character. It seems that throughout the resort, no expense has been spared with the decor, furnishing or architecture, so although it is an established property, it oozes timeless quality and lux.

Go, and for as long as you can!

Phenomenal - one of the world's great hotels.

Quite simply one of the greatest hotels on the plant. Serene surroundings combined with truly exceptional service from the wonderful Thai staff. They treated Dylan (our 3 year old son) like a prince. NOTHING was too much trouble and, unlike the formulaic service of other 5* hotels, the service here is genuinely friendly and always thoughtful.

We can't wait to return.

This is one of the most impressive hotel experience we've lived. From the arrival to the airport, to the smile and extremly good services of all staff members, we were totally charmed. The hotal location is amazing, the villa spacious and luxurious. We felt like we were more than customers. The have a unique sens of hospitality.
