Great location. This resort feels like paradise. The gardens and grounds are very beautiful. The rooms are a little older but massive and beautiful. We had a deluxe room with pool access. Huge room with massive doors and a very high ceiling (my guess is about 3.5 to 3.7m high). Felt like our own private palace.

So relaxing. Having to leave after our super relaxing 15 night stay was the only disappointment!

We would return in a heartbeat if we could.

Comfortable hotel on the beach.

Our room was very spacious and comfortable. It seemed a tad weird though the entrance felt like a funeral home, though that wouldn’t stop me from staying there again. It did have its own pool but we weren’t there long enough to use it. It was right on the beach and so was the restaurant which was lovely. However, dinner one night took 90 minutes (and there was only 3-4 tables eating) to get an appetizer and when it came it wasn’t the one we ordered. Service needs a little work.

I do not think this hotel is worth the price. It’s all a little dated, our air conditioning unit was leaking water the whole time, the private villa pools are kind of grimey… and the service leaves a lot to be desired. We had to beg one day for them to open the pool bar, there is no table service at all during the breakfast buffet (I think it’s reasonable to get your food, but drinks should be served). It just adds a lot of back and forth when you have kids with you.

And the location is far from everything. Which is fine if you don’t plan on leaving. There are a few restaurants nearby but it’s not a town to stroll around. It costs around 400-500 baht to go anywhere, and then to pay that again to get back. I would have taken that taxi fee and added that to my budget and gotten something in another place.

It’s a nice resort but I do think it’s a lot more expensive than it should be.

Huge resort with pool, but no attention to details

The resort hotel is huge. The normal rooms are big, but very dated and the finishes are not nicely done. The best part is the huge swimming pool. Beach was dirty, so didnt go into the sea.

If there was six stars I would give it that. Stayed two nights in a deluxe room and asked if it was possible to upgrade to a room with a pool. They accommodated us. The upgrade was not free but very reasonable and worth the extra money. The breakfast was not the biggest we have had but was one of the tastiest we have had. Staff was super kind. The grounds were well kept. There was a lot of renovation going on but was quiet (no power tools). I would recommend this hotel without reservation to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing stay. Would return to this lovely hotel in the future.

My friend and I had a wonderful 2 week stay at this lovely hotel. Staff were amazing very helpful and polite. The room wa lovely big with queen beds. The pool and beach area were amazing. The only small criticism was the air conditioning only went down to 22 degrees and I found it hot at night, otherwise an amazing place with excellent breakfast .

Its a great spot for couples or familys, however I was flying solo and found it very boring.
There was lack of activities and not much outside the resort nearby
Everything was a 30 minute (minimum) taxi ride away.
This is not to bash the resort staff but I also found it very annoying how many times there came to my room, one day like a typically paddy I got sun burnt, so I spent most of the afternoon in the bedroom, staff came to room 4 times (cleaners, cleaners again some one with Ice, and finally someone one with with a invoice for drycleaning)
I just wanted silence & darkness at this point of time and it made me wonder how many times had there wander about in my room when I wasnt there.
Overall I personally wish I stayed some where else as I neither got peace or an action pack holiday

Nice resort, but quite expensive

The front office staff and concierge are extremely friendly, as are the housekeeping staff. The restaurant has a wonderful selection of breakfast options, as well as a fantastic fine dining dinner menu (although quite pricey). It is a very expensive resort, much more expensive than any other hotels I stayed in of the same standard.

I did not use the spa as there were amazing facilities located nearby for less than half the price. Taxis cannot be ordered to the hotel; and if you order them from the hotel, be prepared to pay 200/300 baht more.

The rooms and resort grounds are clean, spacious and well presented, although the rooms could do with a bit of renovation (bathrooms especially). Toiletries provided are of good standard.

The pool area was the highlight for me. The infinity pool is one that you see on amazing travel shows, that look like paradise! The white sandy beach is also amazing. Definitely a highlight of my trip.

Everything is just wonderful

We stayed at the Samui Buri resort for a week.The resort is on a great location, lots shops and restaurant around. Hotel room is incredibly spacious and clean.

Hotel staffs were very nice and helpful, and amazingly efficient. The one thing that went beyond our expectation was the house keepers came twice a day to clean and tidy up rooms and replace ice bucket.

Buffet breakfast by the beach is the best way to start off our day and the food were pretty good.

Overall it’s a wonderful resort to stay at and very highly recommended. Definitely will stay again with no doubts.

Check-in was a slow process for some reason, however when arriving in a beach resort we weren't in a hurry. The resort feels like it needs some care, some fresh paint in a few places. The pool is well located right on the beach with a great outlook across the sea to the islands of the Anthong Marine Park. However it felt that our room was the furthest from the pool, beach, and breakfast when the resort with quiet, we could have been a lot closer to everything.

Overall the hotel was pleasant. No major complaints.
1. Service - Welcome drinks and refreshing towels on arrival. We were taken promptly to our room and showed around. Staff were always friendly and helpful as possible.
2. Room - Comfortable bed. Large room size. Tea/coffee making facilities. I do feel rooms are in need of renovation. Everything looks dated, especially the bathroom.
3. Breakfast - Not good. Limited buffet breakfast with most items not palatable. We stuck to toast and eggs. If you're a foodie and like good breakfast then don't stay here.
4. Pool/beach area - This is perhaps the winning point. Lovely beach with great views.
Additional point - the hotel food is not good and the hotel is a 10-15 min walk from the main road. Possibly 30 mins before you reach any decent restaurants. Taxis don't run on the meter so this adds up after a while. I suggest hiring a moped if you're not venturing too far; its approximately £4 to £5 for 24hrs (and they don't expect you to refuel).
Overall decent hotel but overpriced for what you get. I assume it's because it's a beachfront hotel.

Nice for a relaxed break from the hustle & bustle

We stayed at Sami Buri for a week recently. The rooms are large but are a little tired and could benefit from updating, especially the bathrooms. The restaurant was very good and it is worth going for the room rate including breakfast. The staff are generally very good, friendly and attentive. The beach is not large but is nice. There's not a lot of night life to speak of but there are enough places to eat in the village. The pool is by far the stand out feature of the hotel, it is excellent.

Overall we had an enjoyable stay. We found the room to be large and pleasant with a spaceous balcony. The resort was quiet and relaxing. The beach itself was pleasant but the amenities require a comprehensive upgrade to the bar, the pool area, the gym and the beach chairs and umbrellas. There are no beach staff nor lifeguard. The breakfast was reasonable the best on offer for us was the fresh fruit. We didn't eat in the hotel in the evening as there were many alternative restaurants locally or a short taxi ride away that offered very good local food at much lower prices than at the hotel. The staff were generally polite and attentive though we can't say that about the front desk staff. They were generally unsmiling and not very customer focused. Overall the resort has the potential to be very good but needs a bit of TLC and a 21st century approach to high quality customer service.

thew hotel is great, great pool and beach, nice breakfast.
around the hotel there is not much to do, few restaurants and massage places, but nothing besides that. it's a driving distance from the center(s) of the island and the taxis are quite expensive.
the staff in the reception was very nice and professional, the staff in the hotel bar and restaurant was not!! not kind, prepared medium cocktails, hardly spoke English and didn't try to helped when asked anything.
besides that- the rest was great! would reccomend!

The hotel was fine, needs a bit of TLC.
Staff were nice but we had a few issues with the booking and with the room which the staff were unhelpful with.
We visited as part of our honeymoon and no fuss was made about us, we weren't even asked if we enjoyed our stay. Compared to other hotels we visited on the trip this was the only hotel that made no effort at all.

This hotel is nice and close to the golf course which is why I chose it. The room was both nice and large and the pool and beach areas were good with good quality towels. The restaurant food was good quality and there are other eating options nearby if you want to explore outside of the hotel. The hotel staff spoke good english, hence an issue with the lock on my door was quickly resolved. The only downside was that you don't appear to be able to alter the airconditioning setting.

Samui Buri Beach Resort

Overall the Resort looks great from the outside.Went during \"High Season\" in December, I checked in very late that night due to a late flight. I was taken to my room and was surprised to find 2 double beds instead of a king size bed like requested. Not something you want to see during your honeymoon, but I accepted it, no big deal. The room attended informed that all the beds were the same size and are issued out as \"available\". Like I said I accepted it was no big deal I checked in very late at night, I can deal with it. What was a big deal to me was finding a very dirty bathroom including bathtub. There were dead mosquitoes and dirt in the in the bathtub, you could definitely tell it was not cleaned. It was too late at night to inform the hotel host, so I informed them during the next day. They said they would clean the bathroom, but then again the rooms get cleaned daily anyway. It was not something I expected from a resort like this, especially for what they charge a night. The breakfast buffet okay as well. The location of the resort is very isolated a few shops along the area, very private. The beach was nice,clean but the sand is very grainy.

A decent hotel with the potential to do a lot more

The overall experience was average.The staff was extremely efficient and was extremely impressive as they made ramps specially for my father who was on a wheelchair and thats just amazing.The villas and room are good.The restaurant was just very average.The hotel with its location,size and already existing property just needs to make the slight efforts and changes to become a 5 star hotel.
Small things like being charged for a petty thing like goodnight and lizards in the toilet can be easily changed to give guests a more pleasant stay.

The facilities, staff, food and value-for-money were outstanding at this hotel and I'd recommend to anyone looking for quiet, relaxing accommodation at Kho Samui. The facilities were outstanding, the staff spoke excellent English and couldn't do enough for us. A highlight of our trip was the Thai Cooking Class, hosted by the President of the Kho Samui Chefs Association and a competitor on Iron Chef. For 1500 Baht, we received a private 2-hour class, a CD featuring the recipes and photos of our experience, and a certificate. We really enjoyed the food we prepared, and we all agreed we learnt to cook the best Pad Thai in Thailand. The restaurant food was amazing, the happy-hour cocktails extremely well-priced and although the hotel is situated 30km out of the main district tourist district of Chaweng, the hotel offered free transport into town twice a day, and the return trip was only 300 baht by private taxi. The local area had a number of great shops, spas, bars and restaurants available and the beach was almost private as there were very tourists about. Will definitely be returning!

A Tranquil Escape

If you're looking for somewhere quiet to escape to this is great. We went at the end of September and the resort and beach were so amazingly tranquil. The resort was mainly occupied by couples, And the staff were lovely and helpful. There's not much else nearby so if you want to venture out you'll need to take taxis or hire a bike. The one restaurant on site is nice with a mixture of both thai and international dishes.

Good resort on quiet Mae Nam beach

Initially booked with expedia for 2 nights until we decided what we were doing. Ended up staying for 8 days. The rooms are large by hotel standards. A little dated perhaps but the Thai architecture is nice. The only down really was the noisy air conditioning as mentioned by other reviews but didn't really stop us sleeping. The upside was the beautiful pool beside the beach with swim up bar. Restaurant also good on beside the beach although a bit pricey perhaps. Mae Nam is quiet and was exactly what I needed.

Nice hotel in a quiet area of Koh Samui.

This is a nice resort away from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng, but not too far that it's not easy to get to if this is what you're looking for.

If you do stay here I recommend doing some exploring in the area as there are some hidden gems around here. It looks like you're in the middle of nowhere when you arrive but there's a beautiful temple just steps away, and several restaurants as well. The restaurant and staff at the resort are excellent, and the resort has everything you need if you decide to just hang out locally.

I'd recommend this resort for a relaxing stay on Samui.

Overall, very positive.
Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, nice pool and very good variety of food at the restaurant.
The hotel design / style is impressive. Beautiful and well maintained. If you are looking for some Thai style hotel, this is the place.
The location is private and quiet (good for couples and families) . But there are not any good restaurants and shops around if you are looking for a change.
The drawback was having to pay for wifi (and not cheap). You would def expect to have free wifi in a 4* hotel. Even a small restaurant down the road offered free wifi to its customers.

The hotel is in need of some maintenance, it is looking tired in places. The staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast choice is excellent. Food and drink is expensive. It is in an isolated spot, you need taxis to get to any shops, taxis aren't expensive. the beach is lovely, sea is clean. Beach beds and umbrellas go quickly. Overall I would recommend this hotel

Quiet Hotel, slightly aged, good pool, restaurant

We stayed here for a couple of days. The hotel is a large resort style with many rooms. We stayed in a pool villa. These were comfortable and quite large. The villa pool however was too cold to use. If you are staying here make sure your villa's pool is at the back of the unit rather than the front. The villas are a bit aged and we had problems with water pressure and taps not working but surprisingly this was fixed quite quickly. The villas do not have opening windows so we had the aircon on all the time and its quite a loud aircon unit.

The hotel staff were very friendly, though the restaurant serving staff were not sometimes. The food in the restaurant was of good quality.

The resort is in an out of the way location on a quiet beach. Its a nice view out to sea with some islands. However we found the best water views were off the facing island Koh Phangam. This resort is near the place where you catch the ferry to this other island, which is a nice day trip to do.

The pool is nice and with wet bar. It also has a modern gym. The hotel spa is also very good.

One good thing is a free one-way hotel shuttle bus to Chaweng Beach where there are more restaurants and shops. We took this a few times as there is not much around the resort.

Mercure pool villa - quiet location, nice staff

This hotel seems to be changing from being a mercure hotel to one that is not. It is in a quiet area with few shops or western grade restaurants nearby. Thus budget for taxis. There is a 7-11 type shop at the main road which is about 400m away and also a chemist. On this main road its sometimes possible to hail the cheap ute buses that the locals use for public transport.

We booked a pool villa. However the weather was a bit mild so the villa's pool was too cold. The main pool was very nice with a swim up bar.

Staff were very helpful but one or two in the restaurant were officious.

The villas have windows that cannot be opened thus requiring the air con to be on all the time. We found this claustrophobic.

The restaurant's food quality was pretty good and not too expensive. The spa was also good. There is a free shuttle bus to chaweng shopping strip twice a day. Its a one way bus but this saves you 600bht. A return taxi costs between 350 and 400bht.

The resort is on a beach. The beach is nice but there is no surf and most days we found the water cloudy. The hotel is near the ferry terminal for koh phangam island.

A few things went wrong in our room. Shower water pressure dropped and the air con was quite loud. The villas are showing their age a bit. These items were quickly fixed for us. However the foyer area, restaurant, pool and gardens are in good condition.

Overall koh samui is a good place for quiet relaxation. If you want to feel more like you are on an island stay on koh phangam island, but expect accom and restaurant standards to be simpler, more rustic.

Die Anlage ist sehr schön und grün, direkt am Strand. Sehr schöner ruhiger Strand und Pool. Das Essen im Restaurant zu Mittag und Abend ist sehr gut. Zimmer sind sehr geräumig und gut ausgestattet.

Negativ:
Das Personal ist leider schlecht. Das Personal arbeitet nicht proaktiv und denkt nicht mit. Alles funktioniert nur auf Nachfrage. Das Personal grüßt größtenteils nicht und wirkt sehr unpersönlich. Zimmer wird nur nach 80/20 Prinzip gesäubert.

Fazit: Tolles Hotel, aber schlechtes Personal.

Soweit alles in bester Ordnung. Grand Pool Villa schön groß und gemütlich, perfekter privater Pool dabei. Personal mega freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Frühstück ist lecker und ausreichend. Leider am Strand zu wenig Liegen bzw. werden diese schon vor dem Frühstück durch Handtücher besetzt. Hatten daher kaum die Möglichkeit selbst mal direkt am Strand zu liegen.

We never used the large pool as we had a private pool next to our room and otherwise went to the beach and swam in the ocean since it was located next to the hotel. Really beautiful. Veldig bra sted som jeg absolutt anbefaler. Deilig å ikke være et sted med charter-følelse. Paradisstrand uten stress og alt for mye mennesker. Veldig hyggelig personell og flotte omgivelser.
Bra restaurant og mat.

Wir waren schon das 2. mal im Samui Buri war alles wieder super. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt.Das Personal freundlich und hilfbereit sei es Rezeption oder Restaurant oder Zimmerservice.Die Zimmer sind groß,das Frühstück ist gut für uns perfekt Schöner Strand mit Liegen und großer Pool.Wir kommen bestimmt wieder

Leider wurde uns bei unserer Ankunft im Hotel mitgeteilt dass die Poolanlage wegen Renovierung geschlossen ist. Dies zog sich fast über unseren gesamten Aufenthalt hin. Im Meer gab es leider Quallen sodass eine Abkühlung auch hier nur bedingt möglich war. Als Entschädigung haben wir ein Upgrade auf Halbpension erhalten welches sich aber nicht auf das gesamte Menü bezog. Wir waren nun zum vierten Mal in dem Hotel und waren diesmal eher enttäuscht nachdem wir noch drei Monate vorher eine Anfrage ans Hotel geschickt hatten um uns bezüglich Renovierung oder Baustellen in der Nähe zu erkundigen, was vom Hotel verneint wurde.

Das Personal war wie immer ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Bungalows waren sauber, allerdings wirkte das Wasser in den privaten Pools nicht mehr sehr einladend.
Der Maenam Beach ist immer noch einer der schönsten Strände auf Koh Samui und für ruhesuchende sehr zu empfehlen.

L’emplacement de l’hôtel sur la plage,sa très belle piscine,sa plage,son calme sont des atouts incontestables.Bon petit déjeuner.Petit bémol le bruit de la climatisation.Mais au global très bon établissement.
