Room was spacious, bed comfortable, very quiet. I stayed on 4th floor above traffic outside. Easy walking to a wide variety of restaurants (Russian, Indian and naturally Thai) and laundry facilities. Good security and staff very courteous. Lovely pool on 5th floor as well as some gym equipment. Elevator was quick. Would definitely stay again! Little oasis in very busy Samui.

Convenient, Comfortable and Budget Friendly!

We were very happy with our accomodations and the staff was over the top friendly. We started with 2 days and extended it to 5 days. We used the pool and the front desk set us up with an island tour with a private driver. If you are a late check in be sure you know that loby closes at 8pm and you need to use the rear hotel entrance. I love all things Vintage and this hotel I am sure was once a hopping place. We loved that is was very quiet. We slept great too!

Great friendly service. At 11pm we noticed our air conditioner wasn't working and they came to our room right away. They were unable to fix it so they offered us s new room with a free upgrade!
They offer free dvd's, have an awesome clean rooftop pool. Def would go back here, even though they are off the beach.

Check in was quick and easy with very kind staff. The room smelled like a spa upon arrival and was very clean and spacious. We suggest paying extra for the room that includes breakfast as it was pretty good and convenient but he morning. There were a few restaurants and bars near by however we did find it a bit difficult to get a taxi to the main attractions. The street that the property is on is very busy and hard to cross with the amount of traffic. The roof top pool was beautiful with a great view!

Quick overnight stay

We checked in here for one night before heading to Koh Tao. It's on the main road so pretty busy outside, but if you walk a bit and get off the main street, it is much calmer to find a spot to eat or drink. The hotel was a bit outdated - I would say 2.5 stars - especially the bathroom. The hotel overall is probably 3 star: the breakfast included was great with an awesome fruit selection, and the pool on the roof was lovely. It would be nice if they either had towels at the pool or extra towels in the room. They also had a large collection of DVDs available to check out for free, which is great!

Note: 1000 baht deposit required at check in. There is an ATM next door.

Nice hotel, poor location.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for our last three days in Thailand. We really liked the hotel and the staff were awesome and very helpful. Location not the best. Our second last night we shared a seafood pasta, both ended up with food poisoning. Didn't make for a fun 20 hours of flying the next day. Overall, great place, but watch what you are eating.

Strange place on a very busy road

Firstly the location is quite poor unless you intend to use a bike. Its on a very busy road with no footpaths and felt dangerous to walk along.
The staff were friendly and check-in was good. However the hotel seems deserted and there is a strange atmosphere. A large laundry service (for outside business) is run from the hotel and the elevator is often used for transporting laundry up and down.
The 5th floor restaurant was closed and didn't look like it had ever been open but was used for the laundry instead.
It was an Ok stay but wouldn't return and there are much better hotels to visit.

This hotel was not for me, didn't feel welcome couldn't wait to leave just a concrete jungle. The hotel dad no atmosphere. I put my cutlery down to take a sip of coffee whilst eating breakfast (which is poor) and my breakfast was whipped away, I just looked in amazement, by this time, location wasn't bad that was the only reason I finished my stay there.

We have been there for one night and we found the hotel on the second try. A shuttle service to the airport or ports would've been nice because taxis are expensive at Samui and the hotel is located close to a very nice (!!) calm beach but therefore far away from hot spots.

Very nice place to spend a couple of nights

We arrived late - due to the air Asia fly ferry not being reliable or running to time and then a shared taxi taking us the long way to the hotel so that it could drop different people off first - but the staff were really great and made us welcome. We received a welcome drink and, despite the time, they helped to organise a tour for the next day to the Ang Thong Marine Park. We felt that they really went out of their way to help us and we were so grateful as we didn't have long on the island and wanted to make the most of it.
The room itself was very nice and as pictured. Whilst it had the feel of a fairly upmarket hotel we got the impression that it was slightly passed its prime and was a little tired in places. The roof top pool was a real bonus though and we had it all to ourselves as we didn't see any other guests the entire time. The location was fine as its between piers and has various restaurants and bars nearby. It wasn't far on foot to the beach either. The only negative was the noisy air con. Would definitely stay again and would recommend to friends

During my very short stay, Amarin Samui had proved itself to be a very nice hotel. I was provided with great staff who were eager to help out, a rooftop pool which was very romantic under the moonlight, and above all a spotlessly clean room with comfy bed. The downside that I can think of was just its location at the quieter part of town, but what you get in return is a local morning market close enough to walk to without breaking a sweat. If you plan to rent your own transport, stay here, but if you're getting around by taxi, be warned that the fees might even be more costly than your room.

The hotel was very clean and food was delicious. Very good service overall. However, the staff really struggled with understanding English and although there was a rooftop bar there was nobody working the bar so to have a drink or a cocktail at the pool was very inconvenient and had to go down for floors to have a drink or food while relaxing at the pool. Also the pool lounge chairs seemed a bit old and worn. although the studio room was clean and comfortable, I really needed a chair besides the desk chair like an easy chair for reading, And there was plenty of room for one.

This hotel was highly overrated in many many ways

Horrible stay, really impacted my stay in Koh Samui. The reviews were so good and I really expected so much more. Even with a room upgrade it was so so sad. They forgot items in my room, never cleaned it well, I mean, even visible stains or spilled water from the leaky shower, were not cleaned. Very hard to communicate with the hotel staff in English. They really barely barely spoke English. This was the worst hotel I have been in Thailand for that. Highly overpriced for what they offered. It was also in a bad location, isolated and far away. Required a taxi for everything practically and it was expensive.

The hotel itself is well kept, friendly staff, drinks on arrival, comfortable rooms and good facilities.

However the hotel is situated away from the nightlife and other major tourist attractions. You definitely need a taxi, tuk tuk or motorcycle (my preference, its cheap and efficient. The taxi drivers charge ridicules prices) to get the main strip. Really not much to see with in walking distance except if you like getting amongst the locals.

We stayed at Amarin for three nights. The rooms were clean and the staff was extremely friendly. The hallways were a bit like concrete halls but who hangs in the hallways anyway? The pool on the roof was great! And the location about 5 minutes walk from the beach was ok.

The hotel is cavernous and anonymous, feels like walking through a warehouse. Many of the stairwell lights were out (and so was the elevator, when we first arrived). But the room was nice and clean. A bit of a walk to the night market street, through a less-developed area with no sidewalks. Fine for a island transfer stopover, probably not a longer stay.

The hotel is not free standing so I almost passed it driving down the road. It was very clean and the staff was great. I got this hotel because it was only a few kilometers from the Maenam pier for the Lomprayah ferry boat. The problem is that if is far from the airport and Chaweng, the main district with restaurants and bars.

We had originally booked in for 2 nights but were so impressed with the hotel and the staff that we booked to stay another 3 nights. The room was large and comfortable and was cleaned daily. The staff are so nice and helpful. Really nice rooftop pool and the hotel is a 2 minute walk to the beach. We got the best breakfast here in all our stay on Koh Samui. Good selection of fruit, yoghurts and hot food. Would definitely stay here again

A very enjoyable stay

Where do I start? From the moment i walked into the hotel, I felt like I've entered a 4 star resort, receptionist Jong was very welcoming and professional. Got a welcome drink on arrival. Jong even showed me to my room. Staff were extremely helpful in assisting with my luggage retrieval (which was mistakenly taken by another passenger at the airport). The whole atmosphere at this hotel is very nice and relaxing. the rooftop pool is lovely!! This hotel is located in Maenam, so there is not a lot to do here, but you have the necessary amenities such as 7 Eleven, some street food and restaurants, laundry, currency exchange within walking distance. Beautiful and uncrowded Maenam beach is 10-15 mins walk away. If you plan on staying here, you should definitely plan on renting a motorbike or car to access other parts of the island. All in all, if you want to escape crowded beaches, pestering touts, want a nice spacious room, lovely friendly staff, lovely rooftop pool, free dvds to borrow to watch in your room, all without breaking the bank, you should definitely consider staying here!

The Amarin is a great hotel, updated and quite modern with a fitness center and beautiful pool on the roof, although located only a 5 min walk to the beach. It's on the main road to easy to go anywhere, not far from BoPhut and about a 50 baht ride if you take a somtheaw to Chewang....The Amarin in is Maenam, which is a quiet and tranquil village with a very beautiful and peaceful beach. There are many fantastic local eating places, most quite inexpensive and very good. If you're looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful area, it's the best hotel around, esp for the price and the staff are extremely kind and helpful and most speak English. They are quite keen to help you with any advice for things to do/getting around the island etc. The hotel also has a restaurant w/a variety of foods, moderately priced but quite delicious (although the free breakfast was not so impressive). Free in-room wifi also. I'm very happy w/my experience, stayed for several weeks while on business and would definitely return. It's also a short walking distance to several 7-11's, thai massage places, salons, restaurants of all types, banks, etc...anything you need.

Worth and great

Hotel room is very clean, and they upgraded us to a better room automatically. Workers are willing to help, though their English are not very good. Hotel pool is too shadow, just enough for a dip. Breakfast is ok, not much variety, but with the very cheap price, Breakfast is not bad. Hotel location is good as it is in the town, 5 mins walk will get all the local and foreign restaurants. But it will take about 10 mins walk to reach the beach. If you are willing to walk, it is a great place to stay. Very convenient place for budget travelers.

Quite relaxing hotel

We stayed here for one week in April and it was very comfortable and pleasant stay. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was alright, although it was often ants running around the buffet and in the juices. Otherwise we didn't have any problems at all and the whole stay was very relaxing and nice. We rented a really good brand new scooter one day and even got the gas free. The hotel is located in Mae Nam which isn't the best tourist area, therefore we rented a scooter almost every day with no trouble.

Good deal for one night

We stayed here one night while waiting for transport to another island the next day. It's a rather dark hotel inside, a lot of concrete. But it is clean. Hotels in Thailand are not like hotels in the US. So it's difficult to judge comfort based on my usual experiences. It was a good price for a one night stay. I wouldn't stay longer.
There is a bath and shower, which is nice. And the fixtures are nice. The staff was very friendly. They do serve breakfast on the roof. It was raining while we were there, but otherwise would be pretty. The breakfast includes fruit, juice, coffee. I had the fried rice, I thought it would be safer than the fried eggs my husband had. The rice was very good. The eggs were rubbery. The croissant was also good and the juice was fresh. So, not a bad experience at all.

Amarin Victoria Resort, the best place for relax

At the first time I was a little worried about my hotel choosed, because it looks away from everywhere, but I was wrong. Amarin Victoria Resort is very good located, because you do not need more than 10 minutes (walking time) to go to Mae Nam beach, which is a very quite, if you want a relaxed time. If you want to enjoy a good night in a restaurant or pub, visit some shopping stores or are you looking for a nice foot massage, the Chaweng beach is the palce. You can go there by taxi (THB 400) or by red buses (THB 50 in the day or THB 100 at night) and you need less than 30 minutes. One of the best things in Koh Samui was the people and specialy the kindly employees of Amarin Victoria Resort, who always tried to do the best effort to help me in get a very good time there. They helped me to get a very good and cheap tour to visit the most inportant palces of Koh Samui, as Big Buddha, Grand Father's rock, Namuan Waterfall and the Elephant trecking. Thanks to Lyn , the Manageress of Amarin Victoria Resort for her help in get the best moments in her hotel and also in Koh Samui. I am very confident to recomend that hotel to everyone who want the best and relaxed holidays in Koh Samui

Professional staff and great atmosphere

The hotel was well kept, and the interior was very nice. The cleaning was just excellent, as the room was cleaned every morning, while we had a nice breakfast in the hotel's restaurant. Breakfast was very good, both the thai-breakfast and the full english breakfast. But the most satisfying about the stay was the extremely helpful and sweet staff. If we had any problem, they would spend the time necessary to solve it, and they gave us good advice about tours and trips around the island. We felt at home because of the nice atmosphere created by the staff. We had the best vacation ever thanks to the staff at the hotel and the beautiful surroundings of Koh Samui.

The entire hotel is decorated with terrific photography and some modern Thai art. The breakfast buffet is good but the coffee is nescafe. The pool on the roof is great for a relaxing evening swim before going out for the night.

The oft-advertised restaurant and bar on the top floor was always closed and it looked like it hadn't been open in a long time. The lobby bar is pretty but deserted. Don't call them for a shuttle from the ferry to the hotel when you arrive or you get bilked 400bht; you can get a taxi for 100bht.

The room was genuinely gorgeous, well appointed, and very quiet. We had the very romantic honeymoon suite.

The usual Thai quirks apply. The shower leaks water all over the floor. The toilet lacks a door. The bed is too hard with palpable springs.

Weird hotel design

The hotel is well located, very near to the bophut beach. The breakfast was good, and the service was good as well. The problem with the hotel was the strange design of the rooms, floor, walls. I think the idea was kind of minimalist design or decoration, but the result was a strange mix of darkness and a sense of lack of cleanliness. Our bed was also too hard, and the air conditioner very noisy.

The staff was exceptional. located on the main road, the room we had we didn't notice much of the traffic.
The room was good nothing to complain about.
The rooftop pool was very good, toilet and shower, working gym.
located many restaurants nearby, two roads down to the beach- about 10 + minutes. Choose to go to higher and rent a motorbike is on the higher side almost down to the beach and good price.
Choose a minimum of 150 to 160 cc. For 2 people, otherwise you have to walk on the steepest slopes.
Goes a side road to higher before the beach, 100 + meters cozy little temple. Have no problems booking the same place again. Couple from Norway.

Je n’ai pas compris certains commentaires désobligeant vis à vis de cet hôtel, l’hôtel en lui même est un peu vétuste mais la chambre dans laquelle nous étions était clean, un grand lit une télé une baignoire, la piscine était propre et très agréable, le personnel sympathique, le seul bémol que j’aurai est que le restaurants ainsi que les bars indiqués dans l’annonce sont fermés, mais je pense que c’est car nous sommes en basse saison, cependant une superbe plage tranquille à 10 min à pied,des restaurants pas loin, et pour ceux qui souhaitent prendre un apéro piscine rien ne vous empêchent d’acheter des choses et de vous installer au bord de la piscine car celle ci reste ouverte jusqu’à 22h

Très bien situé, entouré de cafés, restos et très facile d'accès pour la plage de Mae nam qui est calme. Chambre spacieuse.
Dommage que l'extérieur et la piscine ne soient pas remis au goût du jour: des transats pourris ! Le resto luuko à côté est délicieux.

Står i dokumenten att incheckning efter 19.30 ska meddelas i förväg. Tel nr som står funkar inte. Så hade varit bra om ni uppdaterade till instruktionerna att man går in runt hörnet och nycklarna finns hos vakten efter 19.30. Rent och bekvämt hotell. Rekommenderas!

Hotellet är mer nergånget än bilderna och väldigt lyhört. Du hör precis allt som händer på stora vägen precis intill och om någon pratar i korridoren hörs varenda ord som sägs.

Ett fint hotell med underbar pool på taket. Gångavstånd till stranden och en del närbutiker. Dock ligger hotellet ganska öde så det är perfekt för en resa med ändamålet att sola och bada men vill man ha mer än så hade jag valt en annan del av ön.

Das Personal war wirklich immer sehr freundlich. Auch das Putzpersonal hat ihre Arbeit immer sehr gut erledigt. Zu bemängeln ist lediglich die direkte Umgebung und der Zustand der räumlichen Einrichtung. Auf den Fotos sieht alles luxuriöser aus als es in Wirklichkeit ist.
