We've been to Chaweng Beach several times and LOVE it. Trying out Banana Fan Sea Resort was a new one for us. Staff was great and our room was comfortable, even though it was a bit of a walk from the beach. I guess a plus to this was that we were right next to the office and easy access to businesses on the street. We'd definitely consider returning to Banana Fan Sea Resort

Great location and hotel. The only downside was the air conditioning wasn’t very strong - it would seem to almost turn off at a certain point. The pool was also quite small and even though it says no diving, there were many children diving and jumping which was a bit irritating. We got a complimentary dinner on our last night which was lovely and the staff were always very friendly.

We had a 12 night stay at Banana Fan Sea Resort.
From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and welcoming. A special thank you to Tom who had the friendliest smile, he was always seen around the grounds working and always smiling and waving to the guests.
Pat who was in dining made our breakfast special every morning as he made our regular coffee. Always friendly and hospitable. Great variety at breakfast. Meals throughout the day were also amazing.

Great location the beach was clean and the water was absolutely amazing. We look forward to our next stay here.

Not far from the shopping centre and many different restaurants to be found.

Absolutely perfect! The staff are beautiful and so friendly and polite, the resort was one of the best along the beach they have maintained and kept the property looking beautiful, location is definitely in the best part of the beach as well the pool was great and so good to have two option beach or pool as the pool looks at the beach and is on the beach! Food was lovely the only negative is they need music at the pool bar especially for happy hour

My stay was perfect to recoup after a long flight and the room was so clean and spacious plus the bed was really comfortable.

We liked the beautiful beach and the gardens of the property.
Food and drinks wasn’t above average, they have a problem with ants in the restaurant area. If you go for a second coffee or a second breakfast plate, ants will be all over your remaining plates and silverware.

The pool area was beautiful and relaxing. The grounds were kept very tidy. The breakfast was quite basic compared to other hotels and the rooms were small with not a lot of options to put clothes away. The beauty of the place though almost put the negatives out of your mind. Staff excellent. We would stay again.

Friendly, excellent staff, especially the staff at the restaurant. Great location right on the beach. Hotel was very clean and well maintained. Only one complaint... try as I might, I was never able to get the shower to run warm... kept changing from scorching hot to cool and back. Maybe just my room? Otherwise, this was an excellent resort. Would definitely stay here again if I get back to Ko Samui.

We had a great time at the Banana Fan Sea hotel. Great property and staff and close to some great restaurants.

We had to cut short our trip because the rain caused all diving to be canceled. We unfortunately had a non cancelable booking so no refund but the manger gave us free ride to the airport.

The property is newly renovated and is gorgeous. The pool overlooks the beach, as does the breakfast area. I went to take a look at the famouse Library resort, and at least from the outside, the Banana Fan is way nicer. All new.

The resort is beautiful; the landscape, the pool and the beach are perfect. The service is generally good however not consistent; some staff will go above and beyond while some are just average. One thing we did not like was our room; we requested a room with plenty of natural light and we got quite the opposite. What annoyed me the most was that our bunglow was in very close proximity to our neighbours and one of them was a heavy smoker who sat across our room smoking ALL THE TIME. There's no privacy at all unless you shut the curtains. Breakfast variety was very limited for a medium-size resort; we were tired of it after day 3. Not sure whether we will return to this resort next time.

Beachside Bungalows Walking Distance to Everything

Fun hotel because of its location next to the beach. It's a nice beach too, sandy bottom, calm waters, perfect for swimming and floating, surfing non existent. Jet ski rentals are available from random locals but did not try.

The breakfast buffet was good, very nice staff, let me take a separate breakfast back to room for GF who was oversleeping. (it was their recommendation actually). They also let me take my coffee away every day, which is always appreciated as I sip it so slow. The patio on our bungalow was nice because it had a spacious porch and overhead fan, as well as sun/rain cover.

The location is also prime as it's easy walking distance to the shops, restaurants and mall of Koh Samui's smaller downtown stretch. It's definitely a hotel that makes you feel like family.

The only weird thing is that every day they give you 2 towels in the main room (not keep them in the bathroom), then I move them to the bathroom, and after the evening cleaning lady comes back in they move the unused towels back out to the edge of the bed. This means at least twice I took a shower and didn't have the clean towel accessible where I left it (my own fault for not checking) and curtains wide open. I think they should put the clean shower towels in the bathroom where they are to be used.

Also now that I think about it, only one of the cleaning ladies was super nice, but the rest seemed cold, distant and not nice. The rest of staff was very friendly. I hope I stay here again one day :)

Great location with rooms separated into villa like spaces. The beach out front was great and have stayed at multiple places in Ko Samui with Chaweng beach still being the best location for a nice beach with clear water. You will see a lot of pictures from other beaches/parts of Ko Samui and if you are looking for a great place to actually walk to things and want a great beach, this part of Ko Samui is it.

I have been to Thailand many times and overall would have to say this is my favourite place I have stayed.
The staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful and the resort is set in beautifully maintained gardens with nice pool and access straight to Chaweng beach.
Rooms were nice, spacious and clean and it is located close to all the bars, restaurants and shopping etc but also very quiet at night for good sleep.

Lovely beach and facilities. Not lots of night life in hotel but we liked that and the hotel was right in the middle of busy tourist bars, shops and restaurants.. Wonderful friendly and helpful staff. One problem was the number of steps which was an issue for my wife who has a walking disability. Needs to be a handrail up to rooms.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff looked after us and were attentive to our needs. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. Lovely garden setting.

We enjoyed the food at the restaurant. If anything, I would have liked a few chef’s specials which wecould experiment on.

We usually finished the night with a couple of cocktails by the beach. Great time and I would recommend this hotel.

Loved everything about BFS. Perfect location, walking distance to shops, restaurants and night food markets. Room was clean and comfortable, nice pool area and very clean beach. Happy and friendly staff. Breakfast overlooking the beach was a great way to start our day with a good selection to choose from. Massage ladies on beach out front were very good too ( 1hr - 300 thb ). We will definitely return to stay again.

10 amazeballs days and nights

Great location and friendly and thoughtful staff. Our stay was made very special in a comfortable room near the beach and restaurant which had a nice modern bathroom. The Baitong Restaurant had great food with varied cuisines. It was always special to have dinner on the beach. Thursday night dinner buffet and fire show was especially special. Direct beach access to a Chaweng Beach in a section with immaculate sand and shallow clear waters. We always walked to all the restaurants, markets, bars and clubs. Can easily balance an exciting nightlife with a day just relaxing by the pool. Tours service the resort from sightseeing to adventure tours. The resort has a natural setting with a Thai traditional feel. Daily breakfast exceeded expectations, especially the delicious pastries and the made to order egg station. We hope to return again one day.

A completely enjoyable experience from check in to check out. Swimming in the ocean is very important to me, and this hotel is in a very swimmer friendly location - soft sand, no rocks, no weeds, clear water, gradual entry but gets deep enough to swim soon enough. Perfect! In other places the beach may be nice, but not the swimming.
The hotel had a very chill atmosphere - lovely grounds, ample number of beach chairs with shade, and staff who were attentive without being overbearing. The buffet breakfast was very good and dinner at the beach even better. In keeping with the relaxing vibe, the entertainer on the beach was excellent and really worth listening to, but you could also easily tune out and chat if you preferred.
I can't think of a bad thing to mention if you are looking for calm and hassle free.

Fantastic facility right on Chaweng Beach with Thai decor. Rooms were comfortable and clean and staff was friendly. Beautiful white sand beach and breakfast buffet right on the beach. .Lots of restaurants and stores nearby and just a 10-15 min walk to bars in Ko Samui. I would stay here again for sure.

Not just nice beach hotel in Samui

No just a nice beach hotel but a place where staff seems to want you to have a good time and are doing their best to help you. Perfectly placed between the beach and the shopping/eating street it is a true oasis. Buffet breakfast was great, It was nice for us coming from a cold climate to escape the cold but there were Europeans in the middle of their summer there which tells the attraction of the place. I chose this place based on one review I read and it turned out to be realistic. The ocean you walk out to your neck no strong waves, the pool well maintained. I would stay at the Banana fan Resort again no question. The Expedia review I am completing for an unknown reason is not letting me review other things but let me say all things were five star.

Had 2 idyllic weeks at BFS and was very impressed with position of resort, staff and quality of meals. It offers daily activities for all ages including bike rides as well as a seafood BBQ on Thursday nights with music & fire show. Walking distance to the Central Festival shopping centre & cinema. Lots of great restaurants and massage close by also. Plenty of beach chairs with security man to assist. Good pool area too. Has airport pickup & bus to Fisherman Village walking street Friday night for reasonable fee. If this resort offered yoga & aqua aerobics even better!!! Highly recommended.

Lovely hotel, deserves it's high customer rating

The hotel is situated in the middle of Chaweng Beach, which is probably the best position as the beach is cleanest and widest. This is a 3.5 star hotel, so the bathrooms are a little basic, but the rooms are comfortable and very well air conditioned. The rooms are in bungalows which sit within a well maintained tropical garden and give the hotel real character. The restaurant has both a veranda and beach seating and is priced at a similar level to the other places on the beach. The quality of food is good and there are lots of other dining options on Chaweng to explore. The real thing that seems to set this place apart is it's customer service - it has almost a family feel. For example, on my partner's birthday, they created a greeting message out of orchid flowers on our bed! When we visited there was a mainly German clientele and there seemed to be lots of repeat visitors - testament to positive prior experiences. We chose the hotel based on the positive reviews, and would agree with them having now visited.

My partner and I stayed at the hotel for a week and had a great time there :)
The staff is very pleasant and the service is excellent (we got a late check-out - at 16:00! - since our flight back to Bangkok was only at 19:00)
The breakfast is great and located next to the pool and the beach, which is a very nice day to start your day.
Also, the hotel and the room itself are beautiful and the atmosphere is calm and peaceful.
The hotel is located in great place in Chaweng beach (close to Beit Chabad) with plenty of restaurants, pubs, clubs and of course massages.
Highly recommended!

Our special place!

Been coming here for years now - tried many other places but nowhere else qite matches up! Not a luxury hotel, but so beautiful, friendly and happy. Just near enough to all the \"action\" to be really good, but not to be caught up in the mayhem! Best part of the beach, outside the reef (but too much wave action for small children some times of the year.). Super place for those of us not looking for too much of the wild action on Chaweng, great beach set-up with a really good restaurant, both food and location (right on the beachfront), and plenty of other restaurant/bar possibilities nearby. Lovely staff too - all very kind, friendly and helpful. Only negative is possibly the size of the rooms - not huge for sure, but if you can overlook that, perfection!

4 night stay with my girlfriend. Weather was fine and the ocean perfect. Perfect water temperature and wind had sea flat.....easy to get in for even the oldest guests.....enjoy swimming \"laps\" in the calm water. Pool fine, though I prefer the ocean to swim...Hotel nice, though I thought the room was showing age..(particularly bathroom).....had a deluxe room which has a double and a single bed......much rather one king or queen sized bed......wifi was ok.......all workers were very courteous....(though a little slow getting room cleaned each day) Buffet breakfast pretty good.....though satisfied overall I would try another place on my next visit.......there are plenty to choose from on Chaweng Beach.

Nice hotel, in a great spot. Lovely clean pool overlooking beach. Many of the sun beds are 'reserved' by putting towels on them, very early and are often not used until hours later or not all. The hotel should stop this by removing towels after 1 hour. The room was fine but the bathroom needs upgrading as do the towels. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times and it was nice but much more expensive than outside .
The Lobby needs many more fans as arriving is very hot and the only fans were on the staff, the customers need a fan to.

Overall, I don't think this hotel is worth the high cost.

NICE HOTEL CLOSE TO THE BEACH EXCELLENT AND STAFF

NEVER BEEN TO KOH SAMUI BEFORE. EXPEREINCE OF A LIFE TIME ATTENDING A BEACH WEDDING MOST BEAUTIFUL THE STAFF AT THE RESORT ARE THE BEST. VERY RELAXING AND EASY GOING PEOPLE. WE WILL CERTAINLY GO THERE FOR ANOTHER CELEBRATION THE ORGANISATION WAS GOOD.

Perfect spot!

We have stayed here 2 times and find the hotel perfect! Right on the beach! Breakfast overlooking the beach ( the breakfast is excellent !). They have a pool by the beach. At night they set up tables and chairs to drink or have dinner on the beach ❤️. You can walk down the beach to many restaurants and bars at night.
The service is great and this is a nice family hotel. The rooms are spacious and when you arrive they do fun things with the towels to welcome you - very nice touch. All the other hotels around are a lot more expensive . I will always stay here when I visit Samui.

Just Fine

It was just fine. The service was excellent. It's difficult to maintain resort hotels in prime condition. Banana Fan needs a bit of a make~over: the guest room was a bit shabby with chips in the woodwork. They would spray a room deodorant that was not pleasant. The restaurant was showing its age. But all in all, it was fine, a solid 3~star hotel. I do not think it's good value, so that may be why I was somewhat disappointed. The price of the rooms and its reviews on other sites had raised my expectations.

Sehr schöne Anlage, geräumige Zimmer direkt am schönsten Abschnitt der Chaweng Beach gelegen. Sehr zuvorkommendes, freundliches Personal. Haben im Restaurant einen Thailändischen Kochkurs mit Marktbesuch gemacht. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön. Die Zimmer sind sauber und in einem guten Zustand. Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Essen und das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet mit viel Auswahl. Der Strand ist auch sehr schön. Wir würden wieder kommen.

Wat een hotel! Echt een enorme aanrader. Wij verbleven hier als afsluit van onze huwelijksreis. Hadden niet beter kunnen kiezen. We werden echt bediend op een top niveau. ‘S avonds werd zelf een kaars aangelegd in de kamer tegen de muggen en werd ons bed nogmaals mooi gemaakt. Het ontbijt is ongezien lekker. Een enorme grote aanbieding tot zelf eggs royal op bestelling. Dit was een echte topervaring. Met speciale dank nogmaals aan Tun van de receptie die onze vakantie af maakte.

Gutes Hotel, toller Strand. Wir hatten die Beachfront villa mit Jacuzzi. Was mir nicht gefallen hat, trotz „Private Area“, sind dennoch immer wieder Leute teilweise einfach so durch unsere Tür (Garten) gegangen, weil sie dachten, dass das der reguläre Zugang zum Strand wäre. Unser Garten war leider auch nicht sonderlich schön begrünt, jeder konnte von überall reinsehen, direkt rechts neben dem Zaun auch der Müll. Also das sollte unbedingt viel viel grüner gemacht werden.

Das Banana Fan Sea ist ein wunderbares Hotel im Boutiquestil. Qualitativ hochwertig von der Einrichtung, dem Pool, dem Restaurant und den Speisen bis hin zum sehr sehr freundlichen und kinderverliebten Personal. Überraschend mickrig ist das Gym -> 2 Ausdauerbänder, ein Multiturm, max. 10Kg Freihanteln, das wars. Einzig enttäuschender Punkt, als wäre der Bereich vergessen worden.

Überragend ist der direkte Strandzugang an einem der besten Strände der Insel. Flach abfallend, sehr feiner Sand, palmengesäumt, tolle Farben. Jetski fahren und andere Wasseraktivitäten sind auch nach Herzenslust zu buchen. Hammer sind auch die Massage am Strand! Empfehlenswert ist außerdem definitiv das BBQ-Dinner inkl Feuershow am Strand!!! Auch wenn die Küche wirklich super ist, sind gute & günstige Restaurants in unmittelbarer Umgebung in Chaweng. Frühstück war spitze, vom individuellen Saft über Eierspeisen bis hin zu den Crossaints. Cappuccino vom Automaten geht besser. Haben das Hotel im voraus gebucht, sehr knappe Verfügbarkeit vor Ort (Bekannte wollten spontan einchecken - keine Chance da voll)

In Summe volle Empfehlung und mit Sicherheit ein Sehnsuchtsort!

In November 2024 heb ik een week mogen genieten in dit resort.

Het resort is prachtig met mooi aangelegde tuinen, een mooi zwembad en het ligt direct aan het strand. Echter ligt het wat verder van het uitgaansgebied, en daarmee ook de restaurants. Central ligt op 10minuutjes lopen is in principe te doen.

Pal aan de overkant van Banana Fan Sea wordt Haven Samui gebouwd, een nieuwe shoppingmall met waarschijnlijk veel nieuwe opties, dan erg ideaal.

Het personeel was erg vriendelijk, en altijd attent.

Het ontbijt is ook fantastisch, met elke dag een ruime keuze aan Aziatisch, Intercontinentaal, vers fruit, en allerlei soorten koffie en thee. Het ontbijt vindt plaats in het restaurant van het hotel, dat direct grenst aan het strand. Zo kan je in de ochtend genieten van een uitgebreid ontbijt, een heerlijke bries aan zeewind, en de zonsopgang.

Tevens heeft het hotel ook een cocktailbar (Kevin's bar) aan het zwembad/ strand waar de lekkerste cocktails worden gemaakt. een absolute aanrader!

Wat ik persoonlijk een echte afknapper vond in het hotel, was dat voornamelijk toeristen uit Europa, hier 's ochtends al hun handdoek op het strandbed plaatsen, om dan vervolgens 3 of 4 uur later pas op het bed te liggen. Als hotel kan je dit makkelijk voorkomen.

Ausgezeichnete Unterkunft mit top Personal, das einem jeden Wunsch von den Augen abliest! Strand ist traumhaft und Zimmer/ Bungalows sind sehr geräumig, wunderschön und sehr sauber!
Jeden Tag bekommt man 4 Flaschen Wasser vom Hotel und automatisch am Abend frische strandtuecher! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder
