An amazing place to stay! Swimming pool overlooking the beach, beautiful sunsets, great food and drinks! I came solo for a week and I am looking forward to coming back!

Gorgeous hotel overall, right on the beach, lots of sunloungers and chairs. The pool was clean and the food was decent . Only thing that let it down was the room felt quite damp and musty, lots of ants in the room. Also got eaten alive in the room every night despite using bug spray.

I usually prefer not to leave negative reviews, but I felt it necessary to comment on treatment by some of the staff here. While I don't blame the staff personally—as the Thai people are incredibly hard working and friendly—some employees here seemed miserable or resigned. At times while ordering at the cafe, I felt ignored or met with passive-aggressive silence, even when I was the only customer waiting. It's possible that management, compensation, or another reason is the root cause of low morale, that's only speculation, because I couldn't explain it. I truly feel for the staff, but as a guest, being repeatedly ignored made for an uncomfortable stay.

You will need a scooter, b/c it's isolated from anything off site. The property is outstanding, very clean, with stunning views.

Although we only stayed here for two nights, my sister and I enjoyed our stay at the Escape Beach Resort as the staff was very kind and helpful. The room was comfortable and the restaurant was good for dinner and supper. The only downside of the hotel is it’s location as it’s situated down a very steep hill and some narrow roads which are quite scary to drive on.Taxis also cost more to come pick you up at the hotel as they have to drive down the steep hill. If you do stay there, consider renting a car with the company they are affiliated with as the staff is extremely kind and will send you tips on what to see on the island!

Hightide the water came right up to the steps by thr pool, the wait staff was lovely, abd the front desk was very helpful
Only thing is that there isnt anything around the resort, besides other resorts. If you have a bike or can rent one this place is great. We would come back!

It's calm and right on the ocean panorama infinity pool and value and position that you can't get any where on the island Koh Samui is an expensive island but the resort was a great deal can't refuse I paid $409 Australia dollars including breakfast daily same crystal brook equivalent in Australia you pay $500 a night which I think this lagoon out beat crystal brook in Byron bay by miles in value and location

The actual accommodation is nice but all the rooms are very cramped together and the walls are paper thin. The pool area is nice but again very small for the number of rooms here. You have to fight for a sun bed on busier times. The breakfast was great and the food in the restaurant generally good, though I wouldn’t recommend the burger which came with a beef patty about a third of the size of the bun they give you.
This place is in the middle of nowhere with nothing close by so unless you’re planning on doing excursions you’re pretty stuck here or paying quite expensive taxis to go elsewhere.
The positive was it was very clean and a good price

Best Boutique hotel in Koh Samoi

This boutique hotel was amazing. It provided for all our needs. The infinity pool over looks the ocean with direct beach access. The rooms are small but big enough for our needs. The pool bar had great food and drinks for cheap. We would definitely come back. The W hotel is also right next to this hotel. This hotel is famous for their rooftop pool bar area. We went to check it out. It was a great outing and close to the hotel.

Escape Beach was really lovely. The facilities were really nice including a great pool. The restaurant/bar was fantastic, the only thing that could be better is daily happy hour! The only real thing I could fault was the internet, it would cut out and then you had to log on again. This happened very frequently. Otherwise a great place to stay.

Great Escape

We stayed seven nights in the economy room (in an apartment) which was comfortable. The only downside is that we heard everything our neighbours were saying and doing the walls being thin and the beds share the same wall. When we had quiet neighbours, you can't hear anything but most of them spoke loudly.

The location is incredible, perfect for getting away. It is possible to walk, via beach to Fisherman's village (1.5 hours) and Maenam Viewpoint all the way across the bay (2.5 hours). Wear shoes of some kind because the sand on either end of the bay is coarse and sharp, and there is a lot of glass by the rocks. You must do your walk either side of low tide otherwise the beach disappears and it's hard to come back.

The beach is quiet and stunning. No touts and hardly anyone considering it's high season.

The restaurant at Escape is very very reasonably priced and good. The free breakfast delicious. There are offerings for vegans too (though much unvaried).
The staff are wonderful and the place is very clean. The pool is lovely for a quick dip.

Other restaurants are only a small walk along the beach away (massages etc)

The taxi used by Escape is reasonably priced to go anywhere. Handy fixed price list too. We used Navigo on Koh Samui.

The internet was fast, however, it was extremely annoying that you have to log in and type your password EVERY SINGLE TIME you open your phone again.

Overall this is a great place to escape to!

Isolated location, is literally nothing around it. Rude, dishonest & unhelpful staff. Bad cockroach problems in the bungalows. Nearly pure chlorine in the pool. Breakfast is nice on a plus side. I wouldn't recommend it and am amazed anyone likes it. Bungalows are dark and just look out over the wall in front but view at pool area is nice, shame the pool is s toxic bath!
NEVER use the tax service they recommend. Overpriced, tatty and dangerous.

The room with the beach front had an amazing view. You dont feel like going anywhere and can have beer all day long....
Good breakfast and good restaurant with variety menu.

The only negative about this resort was slow wifi...i think it was only 2G. Very slow. Also, no lighting at their beach so u can not enjoy the beach at night.

Not Honest.......We had asked for a room for 3 adults but were provided with a room that was just about big for 2 people and we would have to climb over the third person to use the toilet, however for an additional amount per day (which we paid or had to) they would give us a bigger room. This was highly unprofessional. Further they got information that the cyclonic storm Pabuk was headed towards the island and all ferry services would be cut off for three days but they did not inform us guests as there would be cancellations and nobody would be coming to the island to take their rooms so they would stand to lose money. Totally dishonest. Location superb and food good but all could have been better with a little more regard putting guests firsthand not financial gain foremost..

Pleasant place to escape to away from the crowds at Chaweng. Not much nearby to walk to for entertainment and needs a taxi to nearby Fishermans Village (a daily shuttle service would be a welcome addition). The hotel bar and restaurant has a good and reasonably priced menu of both Thai and western food for lunch and dinner and the service and food was generally good.
Would suggest they amend the 'Happy Hour' - only Wed -Fri, 6-8pm only on cocktails and cant mix drinks.

We really enjoyed staying at Escape because it was very comforting and relaxing. We had been traveling our entire trip from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. We were very pleased to relax in Koh Samui at Escape. The rooms were very cute and very comfortable. The food at the Castaway restaurant was amazing! The best curry spaghetti I’ve had since our trip! I was very impressed that they also offered free breakfast. This was a plus for us!

Beautiful views, terrible and dirty facilities.

I read about all the wonderful reviews of this place, and thought this would be a great hotel to stay at for 5 nights during our time in Koh Samui. Unfortunately, there were many things that disappointed me:

1) We paid to upgrade to a better room, however there really wasn't anything better with the room other than it was closer to the pool.

2) The hotel room had ants virtually everywhere. They would be all over the walls, the floors, and in the bed. I'm not expecting a 5 star hotel experience, but a clean room would have been lovely.

3) The bathroom shower would not drain (yes, you heard that right). Even when I asked to have it fixed, it worked again for a night and then clogged up again in the morning. When we told the front desk staff about this, they really didn't care and just said \"do you want someone to look at it or not?\".

4) This place is literally in the middle of nowhere and taxis are expensive on koh samui. This is coupled with the fact that there is literally nothing to do around the resort other than sit around in the pool and eat. There are no other restaurants or shops nearby unless you want to walk far out along the beach (unfortunately you CANNOT do this in the evening due to the high tide).

5) The food is quite mediocre other than the breakfast. Unfortunately there are no better options as you are literally stranded unless you want to pay for a 20$ taxi out.

Excellent value. Quiet location on very clean beach. Rooms basic but spotlessly clean with toiletries. Good small pool and enough sunloungers for everyone.

The W hotel is next door if you want to splash out on dinner, cocktails...

But the little cafe at the hotel does small selection of Thai and Western style food and it was good quality.

I spend 50+ nights a year in 4\5 star hotels, with full luxury amenities. But I would have no hesitation in recommending this if you are on a low to middle budget.

NOTE: You will need a car or taxis if you want to visit anywhere. It is secluded.

Away from the hustle and bustle

We stayed at Escape for 4 nights in June and it was a nice stay. Good location away from the main hustle and bustle of Samui which is what we were after.

Rooms were a good size, clean but the walls could use a coat of paint.

Breakfast was good, a good variety and a nice place to eat and enjoy the view. The food at the restaurant overall was quite good with a mix of western and Thai. We ate here quite a lot as it is difficult to get to the main rd for food.

Beach was clean and pretty much ours. Pool was nice and refreshing.

The location for us was its best and worst part. Its a quieter location but its quite away off the main road and down a very steep, not pedestrian friendly road. In the heat walking up that hill was a quite a workout! There are no shuttles taking you up the hill and taxi's charge quite a lot more to go there so that was a turn off.

Otherwise overall a nice place and we would go back.

This hotel is fairly secluded. You do need a car or motorbike unless you only want to eat here.Staff are good.
Breakfast is ok but lacks variety, pool gets very busy.
Airconditioning used to freeze up every 6 hours or so and spit Ice onto the bed,it then had to be turned off for an hour or so to thaw out.

We found Escape to be very relaxing. It's away from the crowds and noise of Chewang and although 400B taxi ride to and from worth it for this gem. Our room was great, the pool was awesome and the included breakfast was the best we've had during our 3 week trip around Thailand. Not much of a beach but didn't miss it as the pool was right there

One of the islands great value for money resorts the rooms aren't huge but the beds are big and comfortable and the balcony offered sea views regardless of our garden view status, breakfast was excellent and goes on until 11 allowing those who enjoy a longer sleep on holiday the best of both worlds, the social make up was extremely varied from younger couples to older couples and travelling groups of all ages, the staff are very helpful and the on site restaurant has a wide selection of food and drinks. Happy hour is 17:00-19:00 and is extremely reasonable 2 long island ice teas for 120 baht which is somewhere around 3GBP!

The accommodation was beautiful right on the beach and very stylish. The beach snd pool were great and the hotel was right on the beach. The bar/restaurant were very nice, a little pricey for Thailand but the food was excellent. There isn't any other bars/restaurants within 15 walk but we were happy to spend our time at the resort. The wifi was good in the fact it was available throughout the resort however it was a little weak and it kept logging me out which was frustrating.

A hidden gem.

This is a up-market budget hotel with minimalist furnishings and a great beach feel. The food and staff are excellent. Not many staff speak English, but you will be suprised what a few hand gestures and a smile will achieve. There is no beach as the waves come right up to to the hotel pool wall. This hotel is not suitable for business travellers.

I stay this hotel for 2 nights. It is really perfect for my hiding busy life. I enjoy with the pool and beach front that the hotel. All staff are friendly and pay attend to guests. They always ask their guests for any assistance that may need. Breakfast at the hotel is good for others is so so. Chill out and sip a cup of coffee by the patio at the bar is a must. I like it and I enjoy it everyday at late of the afternoon.

We opted for the beach view bungalow and paid almost 100 Canadian per night. I stayed at much nicer hotels in Thailand for significantly less. The staff weren't the greatest - checked is in half an hour later than check in time, would have convos with one another they'd finish before acknowledging for a drink.

Overall just would have been okay I think if less money had been spent. On the pro side rooms were clean, breakfast was really good. Other cons were the wifi was slow in the room, the mini fridge had only one setting so it wasn't very cold, and the shower water pressure was light.

Beautiful beach hotel

the hotel is in a beautiful location, where you can enjoy your amazing buffet breakfast with views across the beach and sea. The room was very comfortable and included extra touches suchas beach towels for our use. The hotel also provides kayaks and paddle board for hire at an extremely good rate, to enjoy watersports right by the hotel.

Quiet Resort on the beach very clean and new.

I stayed at Escape for 3 weeks. this resort lives up to its reviews it is located in a quiet area. The Rooms are very clean the entire bungalow resort is tidy and the set out beautifully.
All staff are pleasant and friendly and willing to help.
the resort isn't to far from Chaweng but it is far from Lamai but if you hire a scooter like I did you can do the whole island easily and access all areas.
Everyone complains about the hill but you can actually walk down the beach to the left towards Fairhouse Resort just next door and cut through there, you don't have to go up the hill from Escape, its simple really.
Overall I would definitely stay again, maybe not for 3 weeks but I would stay for a week. :)

Spectacular View Hotel by the Beach

It's a family oriented, vacation hotel where children and their parents frolic around the pool and enjoy meals together in the restaurant. The hotel has a mini mart for you to shop some basic things. Pool is available all day. Restaurant opens long hours. The room is cleaned usually promptly.

Good Breakfast, Staff have alot to improve on

First impressions last and unfortunately it wasnt a friendly one, Construction nextdoor.. wouldnt provide a scooter (got judged by looks and fed some story about not having any and basically got told to go elsewhere) met several others who had the same treatment. Alot of the food was frozen goods to her credit the restaurant manager admitted this and apologized, she was lovely and really made us feel welcome, sadly the young night staff seemed uninterested and one in particular was on something. Internet hardly worked during the day. A shame as the place was pretty well setup but the staff and food left alot to be desired ! Also possibly too many rooms for the sewage system as we had a constant sewage smell in the bathroom. Good but wouldnt stay again. Only being honest, better places just down the beach with much better vibes and awesome food, and better for swimming.

The hotel, room, facilities, food and drinks were great. Right on the beach. Only downside was having to get transport everywhere ... If tide was out you could walk to main part of maenam along the beach which is about 20 min.
Otherwise a great stay.

Unique in its way with few issues

We took honey moon bungalow with sea view. The experience of the view was exciting . However the villas was seperated by a thin wall . We could actually hear even a small sound from the other villa/ room which was quite disturbing few nights ( totally depends on who is staying next to you).

The restaurant location and ambience was amazing. Food was okey with limited Thai options .
Access to main road was a challenge as it was a uphill climb . You need a scooter or car if you are to travel around near by areas

Nice Very Private Place

When I say private it's very private. The location is pretty much out of the way for most area in koh samui. Had to go up hill and down when we walked around to see places we could eat or shop. The path doesn't have much light either so we had to use our phone lights. Fisherman's village is about an hr walk. There's bophut beach and a lot of restaurant and night life around that area. We got a tour to a couple islands in this location for a good price.

The place itself is amazing. Quiet and private. A small beach for everyone to go into and a small pool as well. The free breakfast is pretty good as well. It's worth the pay for anyone looking for some quiet time after the busy, touristy places they've been. If looking for more fun night out then would recommend somewhere more into the main roads. The plce is also near the pier so if you're only in koh samui for a couple days as a stop over then thisnis a good break for the rest of the trip.

Just ok.

overall is fine just that you can hear next room sound. If you plan to stay in this hotel prepare your own earplug. The room is a bit small for two. The staff not so friendly however I still tips them.

Lovely location with a fantastic setting

Lovely location with a fantastic setting right next to the sea. The pool is a good size which overlooks the sea, there are sun beds but not enough. The restaurant is nice the food is lovely with a good choice. The restaurant staff was very helpful and really nice people although a new manage had just started and he was trying really hard but was too over to top. The reception staff were helpful apart from the young man that works there who was rude and unhelpful and simply shrugged his shoulders when asked anything. The rooms have everything you need but are in need of a lick of paint. overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Great stay

Had an unexpected layover here. Staff friendly and helpful, hotel was simple in a good way- nothing unnecessary but thought given to provide things that were useful eg umbrellas, beach towels and easy to use room safe and laundry, scooters to rent, easy to book taxis which you need because not much in area and strong wifi. Restaurant average but fine with good breakfast provided, lovely area around pool to sit although no beach area and pool wasn't as big as it looks in picture, lovely swim though and 24/7 access. There's a beach you can walk to. Not much difference between bungalow and economy room. Family friendly. Questionable massage. I would go back.

Great place great price.

Excellent resort, friendly staff, speedy check in, food in restaurant was cooked well and very tasty prices were reasonable. Location is a bit off beaten track though,walk to main road is 20/30 minutes up an enormous hill and is not well lit at night. YOU NEED TRANSPORT! Either a scooter or reception will order you a taxi. There is 1 good size pool which is divided to accommodate a small children's pool, there is only a beach at this resort when the tide is out but there are beaches either side of this resort Overall we would stay again at this resort.

6 Nights in an Ocean View Bungalow

My husband and I stayed her for a week before flying back to Canada after a conference in Northern Thailand. The resort itself is quite small and cozy and there isn't much of a beach affiliated with the resort. If your walk for a about a minute in either direction there are beautiful beaches that were empty while we were visiting. The front desk is hit or miss. Sometimes you get awesome, informed friendly people and other times you don't. There are no phones in the rooms and overpriced shuttle. The hotel offer the same service at twice the price... The room was ok. It looks like in the pictures with a great view and they clean it everyday but the walls and curtains were quite dirty and there was a lot of dust and crude in the cracks. We were quite happy with our room anyway. One night we had a salamander thing come it. It was cute. The last morning there was a huge cockroach that startled me. But the doors are typical of Thailand. There is an inch around the bottom and top that is open. It was not really a problem though. The room was a good value. The breakfast is just ok. You will survive but not be excited to eat after the second day. Overall, safe little resort. Quiet and good place to relax. Restaurant is quite expensive for what you get. Walk down the beach 5 min and eat at the restaurant there.

Really comfortable place to stay

Everything was excellent especially compared to other hotels that we tried out.
Nice quiet area, really lovely pool with a great view, lovely staff, clean rooms, rooms are very comfortable and cosy.
The restaurant food was really good too.

The only downer was that you would get overcharged for taxis or even bike rentals. If you book a taxi to one place for 2 people in a car that may be 10mins away, you get charged 400 baht which is just under £8. If you book the same exact car to the same exact place for 4 people its 450 baht.. that logic doesn't make much sense to me but you can get to these places for 300 baht if you didn't use the hotel and if you were a local you could probably get it for 200 baht or less even (we went out with a local once and since we were with her we just had to pay the tuk tuk 50 baht each instead of the usual 150).

Also the hotel rents bikes for 250 baht a day which you would usually find for 200 baht (sometimes 150 if the bike is lesser quality) just up the steep road.

And another piece of advice is the hotel charges 70baht per kg for laundry but you can get that done for 40baht per kg up the same road but before you hit the main road, they also do it quicker.

Nice Relaxing Resort But With A Few Issues

Lovely resort. However, there is no beach (sand) it is literally the edge of the pool, some concrete steps and then the water.

The rooms are small and basic but comfortable (apart from there is always sand on the floor of the rooms, even after its been cleaned. So you have to brush your feet off every time you get into bed). The shower was pretty much cold and drizzled out the shower head. But the shower gel and hand wash was really nice, smelled lovely!

Great food choices although, we did get a little bored of it after a while as it's the same food every day.
Breakfast was good, however if you want to order poached eggs, be prepared to wait up to 20 minutes... We left before they even got to us a few times as we had finished the rest of our food.

Staff, especially in the restaurant seemed very miserable and spoke hardly any English so sometimes got food orders wrong. Hardly ever smiled. But saying that, the reception staff were friendly and helpful.
