Nice tucked away hotel with an open airy layout. The pool and dining area are in the beach. Spa offerings were great and at a good price. Food was pretty good, drink selection was great and varied. Can pretty much get any juice you want. It is a nice quiet get away good for couples

Unfortunately, our outdoor jacuzzi jets would not turn on. It was part of the reason I booked this particular room. Also our room phone did not work

This is an older style resort with lots of different spaces for children and adults including a small gym, games area etc. Unfortunately the spa treatment area was surrounded by stagnant water while I was there - otherwise it would have been a lovely setting. The little vegetable garden is cute. The pool is lovely as is the beach. The staff in the restaurant / bar are wonderful.

Good hotel with very bad service!!

We had booked this hotel for a special occassion and were hoping for a good experience. Unfortunately the service was not good especially at the beachside bar and restaurant. We had an issue at the bar and wanted to talk to the manager but he/she refused to address it appropriately or meet us in person. This experience left a very bad taste in our mouth!

Loved staying right on the beach! Our room was clean, staff was attentive. Bartender was efficient.
Didn’t look like there was much to walk to, but can definitely walk up and down the beach. Our tub jets did not work which wasn’t the worse thing. They do either need mosquito netting around the bed or covering the balcony, or to provide mosquito zappers (the tennis racket ones).

Great relaxing experience and amazing food!

Great experience, totally recommendecd! Staff very welcoming, room clean and very comfortable, breakfast and restaurant overall amazing and reasonable prices and good offers. Photo is a bit misleading, as you do need to go down a couple of stairs to go to the beach. I think the only thing I didn't like was the gym, some of the equipment was too old and not really practical - something to consider if you are planning on exercising a lot.

Perfect Location

We stayed here in January for 11 nights. We pciked a jacuzzi pool villa as we were a family of 4 adults. Our villa was extremely spacious, 2 rooms, 1 shower room and an outdoor shower room. Lounge area, garden and small private pool. It was wonderful. Although a little bit off the beaten track and in a lovely quiet area we found it absolutely perfect. The hotel is right on a stunning beach and it is very easy to jump into a taxi or bus to get to the local town in the evenings.
The hotel also went out of their way to courier my daughters mobile phone to us in Bangkok which was our next stop. She had left it in the taxi on the way to the airport and the Mimosa very kindly tracked it down. Absolutely spot on service. I would highly recommend the Mimosa and would most definitely come back and stay here again.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. They made sure I was enjoying my stay. There are discounts at the spa but also many massage facilities nearby. The front beach is private with very good clear water. The hotel offers free kayak and snorkel gear as well. I was looking for a quiet place to unwind and enjoy the beach without having to move much. This place was perfect for that.

Lovely hotel and staff!

The staff are amazing! They go out of their way to welcome you and help you in any way they can. I’ve stayed here twice, the last visit was for a month! I attended a fitness camp nearby, and Mimosa is definitely one of the best, if not the best, accommodation available in the area. The restaurant and pool is right on the beach, and offers beautiful sunset views and friendly service. Highly recommend this hotel if you need or want to be in this quiet area. It’s a little far from the busier, tourist areas and markets, but if you organize transportation you can get around just fine. The hotel can help you with that too. I’ll definitely be back!

We were told that this was an \"older\" resort. Yes, it's a bit aged. Yet the facility was wonderful, quiet, comfortable, and the staff was incredible. Sea kayak was provided upon request, as was swim fins and snorkel gear. The food was incredible. Scooters available for rental for very little money. Beach was wonderful. Definitely going back!

The service at Mimosa is incredible. Everyone who works there is friendly, helpful, and aims to please. We thought Lin, the beach boy, was particularly helpful and accommodating. They go out of their way to make sure their guests are not inconvienced in any way. As for the location, while the beach is narrow, it is beautiful! It is located in a quiet part of the island, so if you’re looking for more action, I suggest staying in Bophut or Chaweng. The hotel does offer a free shuttle to both of those areas twice a day. I highly recommend staying here!!

A week in paradise

We stayed here for one week. The resort is very well taken care of and has some really lovely facilities, the main being it’s location on a beautiful beach.
Our room was large with a balcony and outdoor jacuzzi. We celebrated a birthday during our stay which they made a nice little effort for, doing a happy birthday song and cake at breakfast and some decor in our room.
We felt that the resort prices were higher for drinks and food comparing them to the neighbourhood restaurants and facilities. However there was a lot more choice and a bit better standard in the drinks especially.
The staff here were really friendly and attentive. They made a big effort to help us with any of our needs.

An unexpected place which made life worth to live

... needless to say, it’s a great place to enjoy what vacation is all about... away from the crowd, though not far from it if need be... it’s an island ! Amazing Staff, Beautiful Beach, Perfect Honeymoon!

My Husband and I just got back from a 10-day stay here for our honeymoon and would honestly love to leave a glowing review. From start to finish we were taken care of by the staff - we cannot rave about the staff enough! Everyone speaks very impressive English and they went out of their way to give us a honeymoon welcome and a free \"happy honeymoon\" cake just because. They helped us book all ecursions and call taxis. We got a private island tour through them and it was money well spent. Beer, Nai and Lynn specifically were awesome, talked with us every day and made us laugh, catered literally to our every need while we were there. The beach was clean and fairly private, especially compared to beaches at Chawang or other parts of the island. We were often the only ones laying around the pool/beach area. I think this is nicer for couples than families because of the location, however, they do have many inclusions and activities to keep children happy and occupied.

Please take our recommendation - if you stay here, you will be pleased with the staff, amenities, and location.

What a great place. Very quite so if you want nightlife it won't be for you, but offers a shuttle bus twice a day to the busier resorts of Chaweng and Bophut. Nice little local restaurants nearby as the Hotel food is a bit more expensive but extremely nice. Shop is with him easy walking distance for anything you might need. Staff are great especially Lin, Max, Nai, Danny, and Cha Cha. Beach is lovely although the sea gets a bit messy with sea weed at times. A small complex but that makes it a bit more personal. My only negative would be that it's a little tired and could do with updating

This was a really nice hotel. The beach was very pretty and not too crowded. The room was big and clean. The staff was great and went above and beyond to accommodate me. My taxi was not coming until 5 pm the day I checked out. Although I couldn't get a late checkout because the hotel was full, I was able to leave my luggage at the front and continue using all the facilities throughout the day, including the beach chairs and towels, the bicycle and the shower. I also had a problem with my plane ticket and the staff was very helpful in assisting me with contacting the travel agency that booked my ticket to resolve the issue.

Beautiful stay on Koh Samui

Our stay at Mimosa was wonderful. We stayed in the Pool Jacuzzi bungalow and having our own private pool was absolutely amazing. The service at the resort restaurant was great, if a little pushy and the food was fine. The resort pool and beach were very nice and clean as well.

The only negative is that there was a rat in our bungalow during the night. He didn't bother us other than giving us a startle, but did eat the sugar packets in the coffee set-up. The resort staff didn't seem concerned when we told them so maybe this is not uncommon. Other than that I would definitely recommend this resort! This was our last stop on my husband's and my honeymoon and we never wanted to leave!

A true getaway!

Mimosa Resort & Spa is a true getaway!
If you are looking for party and a lot of activities going; this is NOT the place!
But, if you are looking for a place tucked away from the hustle and bustle it is absolutely perfect!
Located in the last part of a dead end road (a couple of more resorts a couple of hundres meters away) it is friendly, quiet, relaxing.
The restaurant is quite good, (and there are a couple of other options at the other resorts if you want a change), but breakfast is pretty basic. If you walk up towards the main road (600-700 meters) there will be several more small restaurants there.

The beach is not populated so there is plenty of space for you to stroll and swim. The back is nice, but at some places going into the water there could be some stones to look out for. Not really a problem, just be careful. There is always possibility to use the pool instead.

The Spa at the resort was too expensive for my taste. The massage costs more than three times the regular price you can find anywhere. If the Spa had been cheaper, this would have been a number 5 in my book!

Internet is somewhat unsteady, but you don't go here for the internet do you?

Conclusion: I will most likely return!

Lovely but limited at times

Stayed for 5 nights with my daughter (adult) and we had a lovely time. Staff very friendly and restaurant good. The beach is absolutely beautiful. The only downsides were the size of the room (very small) and there was no free shuttle to bo phut or chaweng later than 4pm. Ideally there should be one about 7pm. You need to book your own taxi back in the evening but this is very easy to do. The resort is small and a bit tired but very cute. As it's out of the way it's great to be able to use the free shuttle to go elsewhere - bo phut and fishermans village are definitely worth a visit, as is big Buddha but be prepared for lots of taxi rides. Chaweng is a bit grim. All in all a lovely stay and some very happy memories to look back on.

Lovely hotel but a little isolated

Lovely hotel, very relaxing although you are quite a long way from anywhere busy. This is fine if you are happy to stay in the hotel but means you are trapped with the high prices in the restaurant. The food however at the hotel is very good, but fairly expensive. Rooms are lovely and so is the spa and beach. There are a couple of restaurants in walking distance but choice if limited. If you walk to the end of the road there is a stall by 7 Eleven that sells delicious noodles and dumplings and roast pork and its really cheap. He is there every night after 5pm.

The staff are lovely here and can accomodate to your needs easily! They organised to drive us to places via a free shuttle or paid transfer, massages were excellent and greatly priced unlike most resorts. The bed was a bit hard for my liking but the room was always clean and no problem with facilities.
Stayed with my boyfriend and another couple with was great for us with our own spa!

Beautiful beach front view, room not so clean

Located on secluded beachfront with beautiful views. Very quiet, not much going on. The rooms were okay with dirty toilet and an outdoor shower that does not drain. The outdoor tub sounds great in theory but dirty. The restaurant food quality was subpar - better to rent a scooter and venture out on your own. Be ware of the road to the hotel - filled with potholes and difficult to get to. One of the taxi vans complained about it scraping the bottom of his car and it was difficult for us to take the scooter out after a rain since the 20+ potholes were filled with water. We almost fell over the barb wire on the side of the road!

If you like relaxing on the beach, this hotel is great for that if that's all you want to do. If you want great food, night life, local food, water sports, etc, you need to go out on your own. Their shuttles are way too expensive. Note that room service does not include changing of the sheets, towels, or toiletries. The sheets had blood stains from another guest prior to our stay - it was only visible if you lifted the sheets to the light since the outside was wiped down to look clean. It just felt dirty.

It was very good from Pick up at the airport to check out. Good food at the restaurant. Beautiful and peaceful beach. Great room with even better Jacuzzi. House keeping was excellent.
On my return Front Office emailed to inform of double charge on restaurant bill. Offered a refund which was gratefully accepted. The one person worth mentioning was Ms.BAM who solved all our issues. Worth a 2nd. visit.

Was so looking forward to this hotel, and what a disappointment
The rooms are neglected so don't be fooled by the pictures, the cleaning is way below par, I even suggested I show the cleaners how to clean. Breakfast is just sad and the restaurant food is over priced and not up to standard for a Resort claiming to be 4 star, the main pool is small, if you do stay here at least go for the private pool room, despite it having an outdoor toliet which is not the greatest idea.

Amazing stay for jacuzzi lovers

My wife and I stayed at mimosa for 3 nights and loved every minute. Best beach in samui right outside your door. Nai at the breakfast kitchen was lovely, friendly and helpful. Kayak and snorkels are included and an amazing treat. The rooms are amazing - clean, large and we'll well looked after. The jacuzzi is in the private court and is amazing.
Overall I would give this place thumbs up and will definitely stay again

Our stay was of 3 nights.
Hotel service was very prompt. Every time we interacted with the staff they would greet us. We had an issue with the air conditioner about water dripping from the blowers, this was resolved by their engineer in no time and also the room was promptly cleaned by the housekeeping staff. This was followed by a senior staff member apologizing for the same. The above resolution combined with other services is a 5/5.
Hotel is very well maintained and clean. They have a kids area, a gym and a relaxation area all for the guests. The restaurant is on the beach with a beautiful view besides the pool.
Located on the beach with easy accessibility to stores and restaurants around, location would be 5/5.

A comfortable and simple stay

The mimosa is located on the most beautiful beach front in ko Samui. This is its biggest selling point. The accommodation is simple and comfortable and the staff try their best to do whatever they can to make your stay enjoyable. The resort is family friendly and their are good cheap eateries close by plus a perfect beach front massage place.

Car and bike hire is available close by.

The breakfast lunch and dinner is average and limited in choice.

Overall a great 8 days at the mimosa in the jazucci room.

Very nice hotel, quiet more or less private beach, relatively new hotel rooms. Hotels.com advertised the same rate for 2 and 3 people, we booked for two because we weren't sure if a third was going to join us, in the end he did and we showed up with 3 people, knowing that it's the same price i didn't bother calling ahead to notify of the extra guest, when we got there they wanted to charge us almost as much as the entire rate for the third person! the staff were very unhelpful. if it wasn't 11pm when we arrived I would have cancelled and found another hotel. after all this our AC didn't work and i had a horrible first night sleep there, they fixed it in the morning. also the shower head was really bad, they replaced it when i complained.

Paradise!

We had an amazing time at Mimosa. It was not in the heart of Maenam, but in a quiet little nook on the beach away from all the noise. The staff were amazing, particularly Nai and Khin who we want to wish all the very best with the upcoming birth of their baby. The food was fantastic and the service was second to none. The pool was just gorgeous and my family had an amazing time. We had the family pool villa suite and it was incredible. The kids had their own room, we had the private pool - sensational. The front desk helped with everything we required including booking taxis, tours, etc - they were great and so friendly. Thank you to Mimosa for being so kind to myself and my family. I loved how you treated my kids - especially Harrison who loved dressing up as Superman to get your attention at breakfast! Thanks again!! We will be back!

We had the best time at Mimosa. Stayed 6 nights. The staff were very welcoming, very helpful and we were well looked after. We had 2 pool villas joined together. loved the out door showers and the plunge pools. Very traditional hotel. comfortable and beautiful grounds. Food was good and not too expensive. The beach wasn't so great but we weren't complaining as we had a few days out at other beaches. other families were friendly and the children all played together everyday which was nice.

You end up paying a bit to travel if you decide to venture out (they have a free shuttle daily at 2pm and 4pm but any other time you need to buy a cab which is around 400-500 baht to chawang. But for a couples retreat this place is great, there is not really anyone else around. The staff are friendly and the rooms quite nice. And the restaurant is good enough, with a spectacular view. I would Definately stay again based on our experience there.

Resort was so nice and peaceful. Staff were friendly and accommodating to all our requests. Rooms were spacious with private jacuzzi. Free use of bikes, dvds and free wifi was excellent. Free shuttle bus to main tourists areas, Boput & Chaweng was great. Hotel restaurant was good too. A nice food selection for buffet breakfast. The food stalls down road from resorts sell declious Pad thai and massages were cheaper than resort. Overall enjoy our family stay at Mimosa and highly recommend it.

Good hotel for relaxing time

Overall the place is good in terms of the environment, room and facilities. We are very pleased. Only one unpleasant experience. one night we ate at the hotel restaurant. I was not well so my husband ordered warm water for me instead of a beverage but the staff was not helpful and made us feel unwelcome.

Beautiful, quiet location

We had a Jacuzzi room which featured a private front area and an outside garden shower.
Overall a very pleasant and relaxing experience. Staff were lovely and tried to anticipate our needs.

The laneway between the pool & restaurant and (the rest of the resort) should be sealed to prevent dust. Although it was hosed down every morning this was not effective. Food and beverages (in particular) along with massages were a high price considering the completion and the rest of the island. We would have consumed more on site had the prices been more reasonable.

Great hotel for relaxing. Quiet hotel with an awesome beach. It is a bit in the middle of no where but cabs back from chawang are cheap (500bht). They do have a free shuttle service which is very handy.

We stayed just north of Chawang first then we came here so it was a nice relaxing change from Chawang.

Staff are friendly and helpful.

Brekky is quite good too.

Our room was awesome we had the pool villa. Shower and toilet are outside (alfresco style) but it still very private. We had no problems with mozzies.

The hotel itself is older but still in good condition.

Nice place

I had high hopes for this place, the pictures looked nice and the reviews were pretty good - it did not live up to my expectations. Don't get me wrong - it was okay...but I think for the price I could have found better ($20USD more per night could have went a long way).

The place was clean, absolutely no issues there. The staff were very helpful and things got done quickly. It was out of the way and quiet, which is what we wanted as we aren't into the party scene, but still accessible if you rented a motorbike. The wifi worked without issues and the AC in the room was great - it wasn't working to it's fullest on the first night and they came to fix it the very next morning.

We were charged for the airport pickup, would have been nice if it were included. The resort over-charged for everything! The spa treatments were more money than any of the places up the road, the cost to rent a motorbike was higher, the food and drink at the restaurant was higher, and the staff (while helpful), didn't seem to know much about the area when asked for directions or restaurant recommendations. The buffet breakfast was included and it was the same each day - the coffee was really bad (and the first cup every morning was lukewarm at best). We rented a motorbike, ate a few meals and used the taxi service offered at Mama Moon up the road - everything there was fabulous! All in all, it was a good stay - I was just expecting a bit more.

Wonderful!

We had a lovely time and thoroughly enjoyed staying at Mimosa. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially at 2am when one of our taps burst. They came straight to our room when we called, and sent a plumber the next day. They put jasmine incense in our rooms, which was a lovely touch, and were very good with keeping everything impeccably clean. Mimosa is quite far away from most of the activity in Koh Samui, 600 baht cab get to the markets/airport, but spilt between a group it's not that bad. It's ridiculously close to the beach, which is significantly more ideal, at least for us. Also, located on the street right near the hotel are three amazing restaurants (highly recommend the shakes at Mama Moon), as well as another delicious one at the very end across the street. There were also three massage places in that same street, who were all lovely and very good. We had a fantastic time, and managed to do lots, as well as indulge ourselves, for minimum cost.

Beautiful hotel with a quiet private beach, The room itself has everything so that you would not want to go out. Pros : ** Beautiful Private Beach ** Good Room with a private pool, batch tub , open air shower, jacuzzi and everything you need for a honeymoon stay. * * Good staff ** Quality Breakfast **Free Kayak ** Beautiful Hotel Cons : ** Not on any popular beach ,** Since it is on private beach , it is almost 700 meters from main road, ** Our room has small of open space outside the bedroom which resulted in earthworms and moths during the rains near the shower .. Overall a beautiful place for romance , we missed almost all the places in Koh Samui , since we spent almost all the time in room itslef :)

Amazing pool & Beach to yourself

The room was comfortable despite being the cheapest and cleaned very well daily. The pool is small but lovely, and the Hotel is one of only 2 on it's stretch of the beach. Far away from many restaurants, and taxis can be quite expensive on Koh Samui. Relatively near Bo Phut fishing village where lots of good restaurants and bars are located.

Best location on Samui

You can't beat the location of this hotel, right on the beach and on the North side so you get all the amazing sunsets. I also stayed at the Silavadee (much better rooms but on a hill, not right next to the beach like here) and the Lanna (posh and flash, but way away from the sea) but came back to the Mimosa.

The restaurant and pool are right on the sea front and there is a fantastic garden with hammocks if you fancy a change of scenery. Don't come here if you want the raucous nightlife, it's quiet, idyllic and really does look like the photos!

The only downside is the rooms, if they would change the \"concrete grey\" colour scheme to be a more modern white, and if the maids would make sure all the rooms were aired properly each day, then this could actually be one of the best resorts on the island.

The hotel is not what it represents online. It is not a four star hotel. The first thing we noticed was the strong smell of urine in the room. We had no hot water the first day, and so my husband and I had to take a shower with cold water until they fixed it the next day. We expected the beautiful room we saw online. We were disappointed that the \"Deluxe Jacuzzi\" is a bath tub that only fits ONE person. The walls were thin. We heard one of our neighbors kids crying, while the other room was banging walls. We asked several times to speak to a manager and we always got different excuses. First, that the manager was flying back from Bangkok and they would contact me once he arrived. The next day, when I asked if he came in they said not until the afternoon. This happened over and over. The staff would look at us with blank stares and no good answer. One other man was at the front desk while we were asking for the manager and he said \"I've been asking for the same thing the last three days and no one comes forward. It's like it is being run by nobody.\" We knew we were in trouble. Since the hotel is far from everything we asked to use the \"complementary\" bicycles. They were in very bad condition. My husbands bike stopped working and he had to walk back from the next town pushing his bike. My bikes' pedals were broken. The hotel is divided by a dirt road that anybody can cross. A/C turns off when you leave room leaving a hot room when you re-enter. Avoid this hotel!

Perfect for a relaxing break

We have just come back from a 10 night stay and have had a wonderful break. If you want to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings with friendly and pleasant staff (especially in the restaurant) then the Mimosa delivers. The facilities were great and the modern bedrooms spacious and comfortable. It is a relatively small hotel in a more rural area so if you need nightlife and plenty of people then book elsewhere, but for us it was absolutely perfect.

lovely resort from the crowd

I was there with my wife for 5 nights and it was excellent stay. The service provided in the reception is very nice. The room is well cleaned every day. It is located at the Maenam Beach and it is only about 15 mins by motorbike to the fisherman village. The resort have free shuttle bus to go to the city centre every day. However, you might need to take a Taxi back. What make me surprised is the food in the restaurant. The quality of the dinner is much better than what you found in city center or fisherman market. The price is reasonable and I would say it is cheaper than the other places where they do ripe off the tourists. And there is a very friendly waiter, he is very nice and keen to help people for any assistances. The beach is a private beach and it is very clean and easy to swim. can view sunset also.

We really loved out week here. Its out the way a little from most other hotels so you can enjoy a bit more peace. The rooms are huge and modern. The jacuzzi bath is fantastic. The pool area is small but just large enough that you always get a sun bed... The only down side would be the restaurant. For less than half the price 2 mins up the road you will find better food and 10xBETTER service. For a 4 star hotel the restaurant staff are shockingly bad!

Beautiful Mimosa

The only real downside to this resort is it feels a little isolated, that said we enjoyed the peace and quiet. We had complimentary breakfast every morning over looking the beach. The staff are very helpful and prompt, our pool villa was perfect and private. Any negatives, the resort laundry prices are way over the top and there is not really a bar area to relax at, as the bar is in the dining area. Highly recommend this resort especially for couples

Peaceful Holiday

This was the most relaxing holiday I have ever had if you require bright lights and noise this is not the place for you.The hotel does lay on a mini bus at 14:00 and 16:00 to Chaweng 30 minutes away with all the night life you could need and is a 500 baht taxi ride back at the end of the night. The buffet breakfast covers everything you could need the restaurant is a bit pricey but there are two local restaurants within 400 metres which are very cheap and the Koh Samui Resort next door is a bit cheaper than the Mimosa.

We had a great time as a family!

Appears to be a new hotel, small, very friendly, we had a family suite, which consisted of two double bedrooms and a connecting lounge, ideal for a family with two children from about 3-4 years old.
Not so ideal for crawling babies, some sharp corners.

Pool a bit small and the infinity look means that one end of the pool is quite dangerous for boisterous kids playing on floating aids, as they could have easily shoot over the edge (water goes right up to the edge) and fall down onto the concrete below.

If they want to have families they either need to have two pools ( one childfriendly one incl. shaded areas) or adjust the current pool.

Breakfast buffet good, chairs are incredibly heavy to lift.

All staff helpful and friendly.

Hotel secluded, a good 20 min walk away from the main road, right on the beach. On the way to the main road there are a number of restaurants and little shops, laundry , massage place.
Free Courtesy bus from the hotel twice a day to some local towns is a great idea.

Mimosa - the perfect place to relax

We loved our 12 nights at the Mimosa Resort and Spa. It is a family run, tranquil resort on the northern coast of Ko Samui overlooking Ko Phangan. This is not the place if you want to party every night or have a dozen bars to chose from within easy reach. It is the place if you want peace and quiet. The rooms are clean, very simply and stylishly furnished, the gardens are beautifully maintained, the food is great and very reasonably priced and the staff are lovely. We will definitely be returning.

The breakfast are terrible, white toast bread, not natural juice,1 kind of jogurt - not tast good.
The staff are not professional, they watch you where you going and what you doing- asks you where you have been.In our room was beach sandals ( not new but used and wash between the guests) and beach bag. One day we broken the beach bag because the sun oil was broken and the bag was full of oil- we throw the bag away.
When we check out the staff check our room and they charge 700 BTH for the bag- we felt like idiots. No where was saying at if we broken the bag we have to pay- very unprofessional

Mimosa resort - the perfect quiet getaway

Mimosa is located away from the bustling tourist areas of Koh Samui. With a beautiful pool overlooking the ocean and free kayaking and snorkeling, plus poolside drink and food service, we didn't feel the need to do much else. There are free rides into Bo phut and Chaweng twice daily and the hotel will arrange other safari and boat ride excursions for you, but it does take a little while to get out there. If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet vacation, then this is a fantastic value!

I loved this hotel and the location. If you want a real 'get-a-away' this is a good place. Simple but tasteful. However, 3 days of relative isolation and I was ready for for market life and a greater choice of places to eat. If the hotel is full, I think the pool area might not be so pleasant, as there isnt a lot of 'space'. But it was perfect as often I was the only one there or just a couple of other people. Just a few metres to the left of the hotel is a good swimming area.

the location of the hotel is totally off. I brought my kids to koh samui for a short holiday a few days ago, we cant go anywhere without the hotel's transport. The distance from the town and main tourists sights are very far and the transport and taxi bills are, as such, very costly.

i will not recommend this hotel unless there's no other choice.

Do you like bugs?

With in 5 minutes of entering our our room my wife noticed a platoon of ants marching across our luggage. After a closer look the entire room was crawling with ants and there were spiders in the corners of the room. I called the front desk who said they would send house keeping with some bug spray. Next we went to the pool and ordered some drinks. After 20 minutes with mo drinks we left the hotel for dinner in town. We found a new hotel to move to while we were out and on the way back I stopped at the store for my own can of bug spray. I was not surprised when I found the room still crawling with bugs upon our return over five hours later. The staff on the front desk are nice and good at answering the phone but that's about it.

Lovely Stay

We stayed at Mimosa Resort and Spa for 9 nights for our honeymoon. The room we had was exactly as it looked on their website and featured a King sized bed, a two person Jacuzzi in the front courtyard and an outdoor rain shower.

We enjoyed our stay and the staff there were very friendly and extra helpful. While we were there it rained night and day and the staff went out of their way to make sure we stayed dry moving to and from our room. They went out of their way to book our tours etc. and got them at 'local' costs.

There were a few instances where language barriers caused a few small errors in room service orders and restaurant orders, but nothing tha really bothered us.

The pricing of the restaurant is a little expensive and the menu is small as is the pricing at the spa, but alternatives can easily be found along the main road or in town.

One of the few downfalls of this resort is that it is a fair way out from the main town Chaweng and there is not much going on in the surrounding areas. You will definitely need to hire some sort of vehicle to get around if you are staying here.

Also the road leading toward the resort had a sand bridge over a creek which l flooded and most of the bridge collapsed meaning only small vehicles such as motorbikes were able to cross, so we were stuck at the resort the last couple of days of our stay.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here and if we were looking for a quiet retreat in Koh Samui, we would definitely stay again :D
