Panalee Resort- Koh Samui

Nice hotel, needs a bit of upkeep. Pool area was very nice and taken care of. Cottages had many small openings around the windows for mosquitos and critters to enter the room- recommend you take a roll of packing tape or similar to seal holes. Breakfast was adequate at best, we felt like eating out instead.

We really liked this resort. A bit far from town but nice rooms, pools. Upon leaving we were told 400 baht for a taxi then told 300. We were in our way to the pier. Once we got there our driver (who was a friend or employee of the resort, not a taxi driver) told us the ferry wasn't running due to weather. So he tried to tell us he would have to take us to the other pier which was really far away and would cost us a lot of money. He was using the guy at the front desk on the phone to explain. They were telling us we had gone to the wrong pier because we were wrong. After arguing for 10 mins the ferry crew explained we were at the right pier and would provide free transport for us. They had moved due to the storm and not our fault.
This was hugely disappointing as the resort was very nice but the staff obviously tried to use this opportunity to take advantage of us. For this reason I wouldn't go back. If you do don't use third taxi service.

Welcoming staff and a wonderful resort.

Welcoming staff into a wonderful resort. They were very helpful, let us drop our bags off and told us local places to explore for a few hours. Did everything expected of a hotel resort.

Only negative is the area it's in is very quiet. Not much to do and not based in a town so we rented bikes. If you don't mind that it's not an issue.

This resort is mostly villas but does have a newish apartment block on 3 floors but no lift,lovely grounds kept clean, staff where always there to help,has 2 pools one is in need of repair,
It is out of the way from most things but if you like quite this will do.
Mostly Chinese and Japanese seem to stay here.only serves breakfast and there's no bar to get a drink you have to go over a very busy road to get a drink.there is a 7/11 nearby.costs about 700 Bart from airport by taxi 500 Bart to chawang

Beautiful hotel, but staff should learn English

Hotel is beautiful, clean. Garden is very good. But beach is located on other side of the road. Another problem is corals, which are very near to the coast, so forget about swimming around. There is cheap scooter rental in the hotel (250 BTH), so you can get any beach you want. Despite beach problems hotel location is great. Place is quiet, perfect for couples.

Definitely recommend.

The beach was lacking as you have to cross the road to it.
We wanted to extended our stay but wasn't able to get the discount from hotel, even though, we booked for 11 days.
Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience. Don't know if the price we paid was worth the value offered.

Nice quiet hotel close to everything

Quiet oasis in green jungle, across the road from nice beach, restaurants and stores. This part of Koh Samui is more on quiet side, not like east side of the island, but exactly what we were looking for. We rented a moped for 2 nights and went to see the falls and night market at Nathon pier and Fisherman's village - a must see! My husband bought a boat tour to Marine Park with kayaking and snorkeling - beautiful caves, white sand and magnificent views of all area. I just broke my foot, so I went for minivan tour around the island which stopped at all major attractions and included elephant trekking, fish spa and elephant and monkey show. Many people already commented on it and I just echo their sentiment when I say - don't go for this. The animals looked tired and overworked and when I talked to one of the tour guides he confirmed it. He said if tourists wouldn't ask for it, they would not train and hurt the elephants....

Wonderful hotel across the street from a beach

Pictures on the web doesn't do justice at al. Hotel is wonderful. Great looking, clean. We had v view of the pool, sea and the hills, covered with palm trees. only thing that is missing is a radio in the room and a breakfast is every day the same. Eggs, bacon, ham, toast with jam and butter, fruit, coffe and tea. I wish there were more options than just eggs. It's still cheap, so well worth taking it. For dinner and lunch you have restaurants across the street, also cheap and delicious food. Location is out of the main turistic part of the island, so it's quiet and calm. Just rent a scooter for 5€ a day and everything is reachable with it. Loved every bit of this hotel, so definitelly recomment it.

Lovely place!!!

Me and my girlfriend spent here 5 nights and loved that place! Two pools, new and comfortable rooms, quiet beach with white sand. In fact it is outside the main touristic places (chaweng or lamei beach) but if to get there you just need to rent a scooter for 200baht/day and within 20 minutes you're there:-) great place!!!

I stay 2 nights there. It was a nice hotel with lovely pool and good atmosphere. The beach and seven-eleven are not so far from the hotel.

Very Quiet

I was there in October and had the place all to myself. Unfortunately that meant no restaurant and the breakfast was pretty average. Room and pool was fantastic though if you're looking for a place to relax while you travel around, which is exactly what I was after.

This is an old resort of Cabins that has added a 3-Storey Walkup. These rooms are new but like most things in Thailand, the plumbing is bad and there is no Internet in the rooms - only available down at Reception - very inconvenient! There is an eating area next to the Reception but it only serves Breakfast which is very, very basic and it is not open at any other time. There are no Bar or Restaurant facilities in the Resort but there are a couple of very good local restaurants and a 7-Eleven within walking distance. The Resort Staff, however, are pleasant and try to be as helpful as possible. On the plus side, the Resort is across the road from a beautiful long white beach with clean water for swimming. If you are looking for basic, clean accommodation in a quiet location, this would suit you.

Great place to stay

We read the hotel was closed for renovation and could not get hold of them on the morning of the day we were arriving but once we got there, we found it was still open, though minor renovations were being undertaken.
We were upgraded from a pool view room to a lovely one bedroom bungalow.
The bungalow was spacious and had everything we needed. The garden setting was beautiful, the pool was great and the staff were friendly.
The internet connection wasn't great in the room but it was still easy to access if you didn't mind moving to somewhere where the connection was better. The only other negative is that there were no channels (apart from a couple of news channes) that were in english. Would have been great if they had a movie channel but you could hire some from reception.
It was amazing value for money and was a perfect place to stay on our honeymoon. Would definitely recommend.

Far from the airport, nice bungalows, good (but small) pool, the lanai was small with rusty furniture, the food at the nearby restaurant was nice (both breakfeast and dinner) and the service was good! However it's not on the beach as advertised, you have to cross a road with some traffic to get there...

Bel hôtel calme malgré tout

Très bel hôtel, qui arrive à être calme, malgré la route pleine de circulation qui le sépare de la plage. La chambre était vraiment bien.
Un petit hic, nous avions une magnifique baignoire, mais très peu d'eau chaude. Un bain a l'eau tiède est appréciable en vue des températures extérieures mais a l'eau froide, ça passe un peu moins.
Et le gros hic, c'est que cet hôtel est sur la seule plage de l'île où il n'y a que très peu d'activités. Pas vraiment de commerces, pas de location de jet-ski, pas de marché, pas d'animations

Because of pictures when booking we thought the resort locates on the beach but was other side of the road. Garden area was very nice with hammocks and chairs. Cleanl. Friendly staff. Rooms were clean. The main road was busy and sometimes difficult to cross especially with a child. Noisy too. Recommended for everybody. Jukka.fi🇫🇮

Hotel itself like a garden, a lot of plants and tree, it’s my favorite part, bird sing in the morning. Room is in newly decorated condition, pretty spacious. Staff is the highlight, smiling and welcoming, willing to help you all the time. Oh, the swimming pools are all good

สระว่ายน้ำน่าว่าย ห้องสะอาด และมีความสะดวกสะบายในการเดินทางจากท่าเรือหน้าทอนไปยังหน้าโรงแรม เดินข้ามถนนไปก็เจอชายหาด และร้านอาหารบางปอซีฟู้ด

Schönes ruhiges Resort fernab der Touristenmeile

Meine Freundin und ich buchten den Deluxe Room (Pool View). Schönes Zimmer im 1.Stock mit einem kleinen Balkon. Positiv war:
-Personal sehr freundlich
-Zimmer sauber, tägliche Zimmerreinigung
-Roller direkt vom Hotel zu mieten (ca 230-250 THB mit etwas verhandeln ;), einmal Volltanken und dann kann man gut 5 Tage fahren)
-Hotelanlage im gut gepflegten Zustand
-Lage ist mit im Grünen
-Bad war sauber und gepflegt (kein Schimmel oder Tiere, alles funktionsfähig)
-Liegt nicht in dem Touristengewühl (wie z.b. Chaweng), somit war das Resort nicht überfüllt und der Pool war quasi immer leer
-Pool wurde jeden Tag gereinigt und war top in Schuss
-Zimmerausstattung war in einem guten Zustand
-Gratis Wasser (1,2l in versiegelten Flaschen)
-Wasserkocher, Föhn, Kühlschrank, Klima sowie Handtücher für den Pool und fürs Bad waren vorhanden
-Gute Lage zum erreichen von Sehenswürdigkeiten
Negativ war:
-Betten sehr hart
-Frühstücksbuffet sehr deftig (Huhn, Reis, Curry usw.), leider kein Müsli oder sonstiwas zum selber aussuchen. Stattdessen gab es Spiegelei mit 2 Scheiben Toast und einer kleinen Marmelade, also lieber am Strand Frühstücken gehen
-Kein Shuttleservice vom Flughafen zum Hotel (zumindestens gab es keine Rückmeldung auf meine Mail, somit musste das Taxi geordert werden)
-Für sehr Lärmempfindliche Leute ist die nahegelegen Straße evtl etwas störend
Alles in allem ist es jedoch ein gutes Resort was ich weiterempfehlen kann wenn man die angesprochen negativen Aspekte tolleriert.

Nettes kleine Hotel, wir waren im Haupthaus. Gleich über die kleine Inselstraße ist der etwas schmale Strand mit mehreren netten Lokalen, zum Frühstücken, Baden mit Liegen oder Abendessen. Besonders nett, King Bush Reggae Beach. Wenn mehrere Chinesische Touristen im Hauptgebäude wohnen, sollte man lieber ein Bungalow nehmen, dort ist es ruhiger. Das Personal ist sehr Hilfsbereit und freundlich.

low budget resort.

Het resort heeft diverse villa's en een hotel gebouw. Alles is in redelijke staat. Schoon. Ontbijt is matig. Personeel is erg behulpzaam. 7eleven en ATM op loopafstand. Resort ligt aan een doorgaande weg zonder hier verder hinder van te ondervinden. Aan de doorgaande weg liggen diverse restaurants, waarvan sommige uitstekende prijs kwaliteit verhouding hebben. Achter de doorlopende weg ligt het strand. Strand is rustig, zeker niet het mooiste strand van Ko Samui. Dit resort was voor ons prima voor een kort verblijf, als je wat meet luxe zoekt dan is dit niet jou bestemming.

Vi besøkte hotellet i juli som er lavsesong, men vi hadde ikke forventet å bli så skuffet som vi ble. Hotellet ligger IKKE på stranden. For å komme til standen, som forøvrig ikke er mulig å bade i da det er langgrunt, må man over en høyt trafikkert vei uten fortau. Etter klokken 10 på kvelden er alt stengt, og hele hotellområdet uten noe form for belysning, så man må ha lommelykt for å komme seg til hotellrommet. Det var ingen bar eller restaurant på hotellet, og bassengene var skitne. Selv om vi hadde betalt for 11 netter endte vi opp med å forlate hotellet og dra videre til Lamai Beach. Jeg vil ikke anbefale Bang Po eller dette hotellet til noen.

수영장이 2개 있는데 그럭저럭 놀기 좋아요~

Positive: Two pools. Outlet on both sides of the bed. 7/11 a few hundred metres away. Beach just across the road (not that great but nicer if you walk a bit to the right). Pretty cheap minibar (small beer 50 baht, soft drinks 30 baht). Comfy beds.

Negative: The tile in the pool had pretty sharp edges. Description said bathtub but we didn't have one. Ants in one of the beds (they fixed it though!). Something was running around and being noisy on the roof/in the ceiling. Toilet never filled up so couldn't flush properly. Pipes made screeching noises when running water. Windows in bathroom didn't close.

Would stay again.

La salle de bain est une horreur : moisissures, peinture écaillées, juste un savon, 2 bonnet de douche et 2 flacons distributeurs l'un de shampoing et l'autre de gel douche qu'ils remplissent pour les clients suivants donc pas top pour l'hygiène.La piscine est sympa,le bungalow avait vu sur la piscine avec une petite terrasse agréable. Le bar-piscine est à l'abandon ( sale, impossible de s'asseoir sur l'un des tabourets du bar lors d'une averse tellement c'était infect) Le jaccuzi de la piscine ne fonctionne pas.Très calme, plage sympa pour se reposer car peu de choses à faire. Un 7/11 à proximité, quelques restos au décor agréable et bonne cuisine.A l'hôtel, personnel minimum, qd je suis arrivée, une personne à l'accueil, je remplis les formalités, on me conduit à la chambre, 10 min plus tard, je me rends compte que le coffre était resté fermé,je retourne à la réception car aucun n°d'appel n'était affiché :personne.... j'ai appelé :rien, j'ai donc attendu 10 min, finalement, la réceptionniste est revenue, elle était partie faire des courses !!! Seulement 6 chambres de louées donc..... J'ai trouvé mieux sur Koh SAMUI pour le même prix

Panalee resort är ett prisvärt boende som ligger på norra Koh Samui( Bang Po) och man får mycket för pengarna, speciellt om man reser en hel familj och gärna vill ha två sovrum. Ett par varningar dock. Stranden är inget vidare med geggig botten, dock bättre ifall man går till vänster från hotellet räknat. Vägen som man ska korsa är också rätt trafikerat så det gäller att se upp. För det tredje så serverar inte restaurangen något annat en frukost, även fast det står att de gör det( Vi åkte under lågsäsong, juli, så det kanske kan ändras. Det finns dock många mycket bra restauranger, och bland den bättre var en thai frekventerad restaurang där vi åt för 400 bath för fyra personer=extremt billigt och väldigt gott. Bang Po är inget ställe för lyx och utsvävningar dock och att transportera sig är krångligare än man kan tro med mycket dealande med taxichafförer som vill tjäna en extra hacka. Men för runt 700 kr får du två sköna pooler och ett riktigt bra boende för famlijen.
