Mike was a polite front desk worker but hard to get a hold of. There was coffee and water and working microwave. Inn was covered with ice—including roadway and entrance to room area. Kind of dangerous. Things were not very clean and water wasn’t hot. There is no restaurant or meal available. With some work this would be an awesome spot. I chose it for the closeness to Algonquin and activities I was doing there. For the big price you pay, not sure I would choose the Inn again

We enjoyed our stay, however 2 items need to be addressed. The hot water was not nearly sufficient for the in-room jacuzzi. It required waiting in half-hour intervals to get it 2/3 full (quite disappointing). Further, a door mat inside the room is needed.

Upon arrival, we checked into the accommodation but left within 5–10 minutes due to the unacceptable and unsafe conditions of the property. The accommodation did not match the photos or description provided in the listing. The building appeared run-down, the furnishings were of poor quality, and the overall condition looked extremely cheap and unmaintained. There was also a strong, unpleasant odor throughout the premises.
Additionally, we were informed by the staff that the water was slightly yellow due to an ongoing maintenance issue, but that it was “safe to use.” This raised serious health and safety concerns, as the water appeared visibly discolored and unsuitable for normal use.
We also noticed that the locks on the room were partially broken, which made the accommodation feel unsafe and insecure.
Given these issues with cleanliness, odor, water quality, and security, the property was uninhabitable and entirely different from what was advertised. We therefore decided to leave immediately after checking in.

Die Lage ist super, wenn man im Algonquin Park wandern gehen will. Das Bett hat leider bei jeder Bewegung gewackelt, so dass es schwer war zu zweit darin zu schlafen. Eine Ablagefläche mehr wäre gut gewesen zum Beispiel ein kleiner Schrank. Die Informationen, die ich vorher über Expedia erhalten habe, waren andere als die ich per Email erhalten habe. Es war etwas widersprüchlich. Das Personal war aber sehr freundlich. Es gibt keine Zimmerreinigung.

This is a very run down motel, way overpriced. Very little about the description was correct. It claims to offer breakfast, but the restaurant was closed. Many broken fittings in the room: the tap on the sink, the toilet roll holder, window opener. Beds were uncomfortable. Cigarette burns in the blankets. Oh, and there is no staff in the evening to check you in. If you check in after 10pm, they will charge you an extra fee. Avoid.

The property is in a nice location, the staff were nice , however property needs lots and lots of improvements for the Canadian living standard . Washrooms , bath tub, bedding, linen need more cleaning. There are mouse inside the rooms, could not keep food outside on counter top and on the table. They ware making noise overnight and kids were scared. No sleep at all . We have power outage few times .Foul smell. Floors were dirty , oven was unusable , mouse poop in the toaster oven and hot water jug. Water was yellow and very low flowing, could not shower at all. Canadian consumers board and lake property business authorities should inspect this property.
The price for staying was too high but was not worth of any money. Very disappointing.
They need proper management and immediate improvement to run the business.

I dont want to bash the hard working people that run it but..I took my fiancee there for the night the day i preposed to her. stayed in the \"honeymoon\" suite. on the ground floor with a dilapidated patio the door barely locked felt very uneasy.The back patio wood was had broken boards all over and looks like there hasnt been any work done for a long time. the bed was the worst thing I've ever laid on. we checked in at 4pm and ended up leaving at 1am and drove the three hours home. the room itself was blah dimly lit the tub and shower was gross didn't even try them. even if this room was half price i would never stay there again a waste of time and money unfortunately. so much more i can say but trust the reviews and don't ruin a special day or weekend by staying here. unimpressed to say the absolute least.

There was cardboard from a 6-pack beer case outside our door facing the lake.
There was no electric plug for the coffee maker on the table, therefore, had to plug in behind the bedside table.

This really isn’t a hotel. There is no working restaurant, breakfast is said to be ‘all day’ but we had to wake them up at 09.00. Anything after that would be from a very limited breakfast menu brought in from a nearby cafe and it shut at 19,00.
Reception was from 08.30 to 20.00 in theory but mostly was unmanned.
The was no room cleaning service, no bar.
The internet connection worked occasionally but mostly not at all. The web joining instructions were wrong.
The photos didn’t show the noisy main road adjacent to the site.
The door from the veranda was falling apart. The whole room was tatty.
Two paper cups were supplied for our two night stay. One pod of coffee per person per day. The paper cups fell apart.
I have stayed in literally hundreds of hotels all over the world, some in very much ‘third world’ places and I haven’t yet had one that was as bad value for money as this one.

All I have to say is that the staff was amazing. They truly were attentive and helpful. The place was cozy, peaceful and clean.
The location is great and super convenient for the plans we had during our trip.
Only I gave three stars on the overall experience because our trip was especially to relax and break free from the routine. One of the main reasons I chose the room we did was because they advertised the private Hot Tub. When we got there the jets did not work at all and when we filled the water some weird stuff came out of there and it was weird. I don’t like deception and I appreciate when my time and money is respected. If you advertise something please ensure you deliver.
To the owner: your hot tub requires maintenance. People expect this type of thing to be available during vacation you particularly charge more for that room based on that function so you must ensure the client gets what is expected otherwise I equal that to deceptive practices.
I even read another review with the same issue so I hoped you would have addressed that long before I got there.
Also, when you use the microwave it shuts off. Fix that pls.
Moreover, it’s not that expensive to add ceramic or reusable cups and plates. Other places have it and with cheaper prices.
I would definitely visit the place again. I find value in the whole experience including my plans , and the people who actually serve the customers, etc. That makes a great difference.
But I wouldn’t recommend it for now.

This is a great spot especially being right on the lake. But the downfall here is property is so unkept everything is falling apart and no curb appeal which is sad they should take some pointers from the resort that is across the lake from them. Also should have free firewood for guests to use cause nothing better then enjoying a fire at night on the beach. Speaking of the beach it could use some TLC along with the broken Muskoka chairs. This place could be a honey hole if only the owners took some proud into the resort.

The area was beautiful but the beds were as hard as rock, and I had asked for no stairs as I shave trouble walking.. he said there is a couple of steps. There are actually 8 steps. Original ad said free kayak but it was a paddle board and cost $50.

Upon arrival, there was vomit in the hallway and the sheets were stained. Couldn't find anyone to give us fresh sheets. They also had hair on them, like the bed wasn't changed after the previous client. The air stank of febreeze or some kind of cleaning agent but we couldn't air out the room because there were no screens in the windows. There was no bottled water or coffee machine, zero amenities other than tiny bottles of shampoo and conditioner.There was black mold around the window frames which was probably adding to the terrible air inside the unit.
The whole Inn was run down and dilapidated and we were refused a refund by both Expedia and the Inn. DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Upon reading other reviews of this establishment we discovered other people had similar, if not more horrifying reviews.
We could not stay for the second night that we booked and had to go home, my husband was angry and I was in tears.
This place is 100% not as advertised and I will be reporting them to both the Better Business Bureau and the Health Department. Beyond unacceptable!!!!

Needs a bit of TLC but was great for our needs

The room matched the description and everything looked great. The air conditioning was running when we arrived, which was welcome during the heat wave outside. My recommendations would be that the linens should be washed with some bleaching agents as there were some stains (from coffee or something) that should not have been there upon arrival, even though they all were clean and that wasn't the issue. The faucet handle came right off when we tried to use the sink so we would have to reattach it (fairly easily) to use the water (and this happened frequently). The kids enjoyed the jacuzzi and we all had a fantastic sleep. It was just what we needed and we knew that it wasn't a 5 star hotel when we signed up and we were okay with that. It still gave us exactly what we needed and the front desk staff was helpful and kind.

Clean rooms but property is in very poor condition. We didn't have any face cloth no glasses only 1 toilet paper roll that was already started, the dryer did not work the tv didn't work until we push some loose wires in the back of it, AC rattle all of our 3 nights, no coffee maker in the room and no screen in our patio door. First night I ordered a poutine that was good but my partner ordered a cheese omelet that was for sure from a frozen boxe. Pretty bad.

This place needs some cleaning and a lot of maintenance work. Sheets on one bed had a major stain. Had to insist it be changed! Also, no coffee maker in room. Could make your own at the front desk - for $3!! - but they only had decaf ,or tea! Kayaks are not included, even though they show pictures of them on their website. The best thing this place has going for it was the close proximity to the lake. Gorgeous view!

The room was clean but quite rundown. During your stay there is no service to clean your room, no fresh towels, no fresh bed linens, no emptying the garbage, no replenishing supplies, etc. If you were not able to find another location at Algonquin Park then this is suitable near the West Gate. But I would not recommend it.

I was made aware of the water color but I did not really notice. Very clean room, lots of pillows, which I like, but the only thing missing was a glass…could not take a glass of water. Even if near road it was very quiet. Had a great sleep.

Water had a slight smell of copper but no yellow water even though the staff warned of yellow water , water comes from the lake , flies and insects are a problem both inside the room and outside, there should be mosquito coils for inside and outside the room for a comfortable stay, unfortunately the bedsheets had stains, one of them had a blood stain, blankets, towels and curtains all had stains and marks . Fresh unstained sheets and curtains are a requirement in today's climate. Apart from these issues, location was amazing, fireworks were awesome and enjoyed our stay.

If you are staying more than one night they don’t offer new towels or turn the beds. Had to bring dirty linen to office and the hostess was very indigent about offering clean items. The hotel is fine for a single night though the water is yellow from the lake. I would not recommend this hotel.

Room was ok but lacking chairs and no glasses and no coffee pot. Bed was good and room inside was good.
Windows were dirty..little front porch was filthy and we had to wipe the dirt off the table and chairs before sitting down. Porch floor and screen door were in bad need of paint and front deck was a disaster. Outside was unkept. Disappointed for an over $200 room…ok to sleep but a place to spend time at.

The property itself is in a prime location neat enough to west gate, beautiful views on the lakefront side with cute muskoka and lounge chairs. Staff was welcoming, easy parking and ample room inside. However our room wasn’t super clean..towels had a musty smell, microwave inside wasn’t cleaned, kettle did not look clean and we found stale old baguette above the microwave.
